Analysis of the range estimation error of a target in the asynchronous bistatic sonar (비동기 양상태 소나의 표적 거리 추정 오차 분석)

  • The asynchronous bistatic sonar needs to estimate direct blast arrival time at a receiver to localize targets, and therefore the direct blast arrival time estimation error could be added to target localization error in comparison with synchronous system. Direct blast especially appears as several peaks at the matched filter output by multipath, thus we compared the first peak detection technique and the maximum peak detection technique of those peaks for direct blast arrival time estimation through sea trial data. The test was performed in a shallow sea with bistatic sonar made up of spatially separated source and line array sensors. Line array sensors obtained the target signal which is generated from the echo repeater. As a result, the first peak detection technique is superior to maximum peak detection technique in direct blast arrival time estimation error. The result of this analysis will be used for further research of target tracking in the asynchronous bistatic sonar.

The Comparison on Firm's Management and Innovation Performance According to Foreign Direct Investment (국내기업과 외국인직접투자(FDI)기업의 경영 몇 기술혁신 성과 비교)

  • All countries of the world have been spurring foreign direct investment consistently for securing of economic growth and growth engines, and Korea is no exception. Korea has been stimulating investment of high quality through various political support and the government has been publicizing it as an achievement. Based on the most of previous studies analyzed the results of foreign direct investment only on the view of domestic economy, this study supposes that foreign direct investment influences positively on management and innovation performance on companies, and evaluated effects of foreign direct investment by using Propensity score matching method. Analysis shows that foreign direct investment has positive influence on management and innovation performance before matching them. However, after matching them, the most statistical significance disappears. Consequently, foreign direct investment has limited effect on company's performance comparison on initial assumption. 'This study indicates that incentive policy of foreign direct investment would need to be amended, because effect of incentive policy was limited for firm's performance.

An Enhancement Technique for Separation of Direct Light and Global Light Using High Frequency Illumination pattern (고주파 조명패턴을 사용한 직접광과 간접광의 분리성능 향상 기법)

  • In computer graphics, there exist many studies about illumination and radiance for a realistic description of the 3D modeling and rendering. When we see a scene, the scene is lit by a source of light and the radiance of the points by a source in the scene. The radiance has direct light and glight component. The direct light gets lights directly from light source, but the global light gets lights indirectly by interreflections among complicated geometrical components. In this paper, we studied a method for increasing the accuracy of separating direct light and global light components from a scene by using high frequency illumination pattern. For experiments, we applied the separating method of Nayar's and found the best configurations for the separation through the experiments. We improved the separation accuracy of direct and global light by measuring the value of unilluminated area, which depends on the characteristics of object. Furthermore, we enhanced invisible scene of the global light by applying the image filtering technique.

The Analysis about Construction Costs and Profitability of Direction between Subcontracting Construction in General Construction Industry (일반건설업의 직접시공과 하도급시공의 공사원가 및 수익성 비교분석)

  • This research executed research that analyze construction cost and profitability through construction example of direction and subcontracting construction based on common private construction less than 3 billion. The results of this research, is summarized as follows. (1) Analyzed profitability about construction gross and operating profit of direction and subcontracting construction. The construction gross profit rate is 15.2% direction construction, subcontracting construction was analyzed by 1.3% high by 16.5% subcontracting construction, and the operating profit rate is 9.4% direction construction, subcontracting construction was construed by 2.3% high by 11.7% subcontracting construction. (2) Analyzed profitability about operating profit before and after deduction of 4 insurance cost of direction construction. The direction construction operating profit rate is 9.4% before deduction of 4 insurance cost, after deduction was construed that is 7.3% and operating profit rate difference after and before deduction was construed that is 2.1%. Therefore, subcontracting construction (operating profit rate 11.7%) was analyzed that last operating profitability after 4 insurance cost deduction produces more 4.4% about direction construction.

Effect of Covering Methods with Ventilating Non-Woven Fabric on the Growth and Yield in Leaf Lettuce during Low Temperature Season (통기성 간이 피복재의 피복방법이 저온기에 잎상추의 생육, 수량 및 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The study was conducted to estimate stimulation of plant growth of blue and red leaf lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) as affected by covering methods with vinyl materials containing concentrated PO film. Plants were grown in direct, direct and tunnel, and tunnel covering with 'Pasraido materials' from October 13 to 31. With the covering mean air temperature, soil temperature, leaf temperature and relative humidity remarkedly increased. Higher temperature was observed in the order of direct and tunnel, direct, tunnel covering and the control. Photosynthetic photon flux (PPF, $\mu$mol m$^{-2}$ . s$^{-1}$ ) was observed in reverse order of temperature. Concentration of $CO_2$ was higher during night than during day under the light. Accumulation of highest $CO_2$ at night was obtained from direct coverings followed by direct and tunnel, tunnel covering and the control. Plant height, leaf number and leaf area of blue and red lettuces were stimulated by direct covering. However, there was no significant difference.

Extended Direct Learning Control for Single-input Single-output Nonlinear Systems (단일 입출력 비선형 시스템에 대한 확장된 직접학습제어)

  • In this paper, an extended type of a direct learning control(DLC) method is proposed for the effective control of systems which perform a given task repetitively. DLC methods have been suggested to overcome the defects of iterative learning control, the learning process should be resumed from the beginning even if a slight change occurs in the desired output pattern. If a given desired output trajectory is "proportional" to the output trajectories which are learned previously, we can obtain the desired control input directly without the iterative learning process by using the DLC. First, most existing DLC methods are shown to be applicable only to single-input single-output systems with the relative degree one and then, an extended type of DLC is proposed for a class of nonlinear systems having the relative degree more than or equal to one by using the known relative degree of a nonlinear system. By the simulation results for the arbitrary nonlinear system with the relative degree more than one, the validity and the performance of the proposed DLC method are examined.

Determination of Incentive Level of Direct Load Control using Probabilistic Technique with Variance Reduction Technique (확률적 기법을 통한 직접부하제어의 제어지원금 산정)

  • This paper presents a new approach for determining an accurate incentive levels of Direct Load Control (DLC) program using probabilistic techniques. The economic analysis of DLC resources needs to identify the hourly-by-hourly expected energy-not-served resulting from the random outage characteristics of generators as well as to reflect the availability and duration of DLC resources, which results the computational explosion. Therefore, the conventional methods are based on the scenario approaches to reduce the computation time as well as to avoid the complexity of economic studies. In this paper, we have developed a new technique based on the sequential Monte Carlo simulation to evaluate the required expected load control amount in each hour and to decide the incentive level satisfying the economic constraints. In addition, we have applied the variance reduction technique to enhance the efficiency of the simulation. To show the efficiency and effectiveness of the suggested method, the numerical studies have been performed for the modified IEEE 24-bus reliability test system.

Effect of Aspect Ratio in Direct Tensile Strength of Concrete (콘크리트 직접인장강도의 세장비 효과)

  • Although concrete members are not normally designed to resist direct tension, the knowledge of tensile strength is of value in estimating the cracking load. In general, there are three types of test method for tensile strength ; direct tension test, flexural tension test, and splitting tension test. Though direct tensile strength represents the real tensile strength of concrete, direct tension tests are seldom carried out, mainly because it is very difficult to applicate a pure tension force. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the test methods, effect of aspect ratio, and the size effect on the direct tensile strength. Direct tension test, using bonded end plates, follows RILEM and U.S.Bureau of Reclamation. And other test methods follow ASTM provisions. Four kinds of aspect ratio and two kinds of size effect are tested. Same variables are tested by direct tension test and splitting tension test for comparison between the two test methods. Test results show that direct tensile strength of concrete is more affected by aspect ratio and size than other kinds of strength.

Foreign Direct Investment and Economic Growth: A Cross-Country Analysis (외국인 직접투자와 경제성장에 대한 다국가 분석)

  • Although many policy makers and scholars argue that foreign direct investment is crucial to the economic growth of developing countries, there is no universal agreement on the positive relationship between foreign direct investment inflows and economic growth. Using a cross-country analysis based on data from 88 countries for the years 1990-2015, this paper empirically explores the impact of FDI on economic growth. To this end, several versions of the neoclassical growth models, explicitly including FDI, are estimated. Subject to the appropriate caveats, the results provide further support for several key conclusions of former studies, including the inference that investment in physical capital, population growth, and human capital are important in accounting for economic growth across countries. The results show that FDI significantly contributes to economic growth in developing countries.

Estimation of Pollution Load by N-Day method in Alpine Field Watershed (N-Day법을 이용한 고랭지 밭 유역의 오염부하 산정)

  • 본 연구는 고랭지 밭 지역에서 발생하는 강우유출수의 특성을 알아보기 위하여 2009년 7월부터 10월까지 유량과 수질농도를 분석하였다. 모니터링 지점은 소양강 댐 상류 지점인 홍천군 자운지구의 3개 소유역이며, 하천 주변에 농경지가 집중적으로 발달하여 강우시 농경지로부터 발생하는 비점오염의 영향이 클 것으로 판단하였다. 모니터링 결과는 기저유출 부하를 산정하기 위해 N-Day법을 이용하여 직접/기저 유출수로 분리하고, 각 유출수의 오염부하를 산정하여 비교하였다. 기저오염 부하를 산정하기 위해 평시모니터링을 실시하였으며, 3개 소유역에서 조사된 평시 수질항목의 농도는 큰 차이를 보이지는 않았다. 1차와 2차 강우사상에서는 3개의 소유역에서 수질항목의 직접유출 부하가 80% 이상을 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 전체 강우사상에서 SS와 TP의 직접 오염부하가 다른 수질항목에 비해 크게 나타났으며, TN의 경우 다른 항목에 비해 기저유출 부하가 큰 것으로 조사되었다. 또한, 100 mm 이상의 강우시에는 대부분의 항목이 직접유출 부하가 더 큰 것으로 조사되었으나, 6차와 7차의 적은 강우시에는 SS와 TP를 제외한 항목에서 기저유출 부하가 큰 것으로 조사되었다. SS는 탁도를 유발시키는 주요 원인이 되며, TN과 TP는 부영양화의 원인이 된다. 또한, 강우시 오염부하는 직접유출 뿐만 아니라 기저유출의 영향도 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 기저유출의 관리가 어렵기 때문에 하천으로 유입되는 직접유출을 우선적으로 관리할 필요가 있다. 따라서 연구 지역과 유사한 지역의 수질 관리를 위해서는 직접유출 형태로 발생하는 SS와 TP를 줄이기 위한 비점오염저감시설 또는 최적관리방법의 도입이 필요한 것으로 판단된다.
