Swirl Groove Piston에 의한 커먼레일 디젤기관의 연소성 향상에 관한 고찰 (The Study for Improving the Combustion in a Common-rail Diesel Engine using Swirl Groove Piston)

  • The performance of a direct-injection diesel engine often depends on the strength of swirl or squish, the shape of combustion chamber, the number of nozzle holes, etc. This is natural because the combustion in the cylinder was affected by the mixture formation process. Since the available duration to make the mixture formation of air-fuel is very short, it is difficult to make complete mixture. Therefore, an early stage of combustion is violent, which leads to the weakness of noise and vibration. In this paper, the combustion process of a common-rail diesel engine was studied by employing two kinds of pistons. One has several grooves with inclined plane on the piston crown to generate swirl during the compression and expansion strokes in the cylinder in order to improve the atomization of fuel. The other is a toroidal piston, generally used in high speed diesel engines. To take photographs of flame and flaming duration, a four-stroke diesel engine was remodeled into a two-stroke visible single cylinder engine and a high speed video camera was used.

  • Because the exhaust emissions from automobiles are increased, our environment is faced with very serious problems related to the air pollution in these days. In particular, the exhaust emissions of diesel engine are recognized main cause which influenced environment strong. Lots of researcher have been attempted to develop various alternative fuel on purpose to reduce these harmful emissions. In this study, the potential possibility of esterfied rice bran oil which is a kind of biodiesel fuel was investigated as an alternative fuel for diesel engine. And, we tried to analysis not only total hydrocarbon but hydrocarbon components from $C_1$ to $C_6$ in exhaust gas using gas chromatography to seek the reason for remarkable reduction of exhaust emission. Individual hydrocarbon$(C_1\simC_6)$ as well as total hydrocarbon of biodiesel fuel is reduced remarkably than that of diesel fuel in this experiment.

흡기중의 수소첨가가 산업용 디젤기관의 성능에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Hydrogen Added into In-let Air on Industrial Diesel Engine Performance)

  • 디젤기관은 공기만을 흡입 압축한 후에 연료를 분사하여 연소하기 때문에 높은 압축비가 가능하다. 높은 압축비에 의한 고효율의 장점과 연료의 직접분사에 의한 매연미립자의 배출 및 질소산화물의 배출이 많은 단점을 갖고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 많은 연구들이 진행되었으며 수소를 흡기중에 공급하는 기술도 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 미량의 수소를 연소실에 공급하여 엔진성능에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 토크와 엔진속도를 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 0%와 700rpm, 1000rpm, 1500rpm, 2000rpm로 구분하여 실험하였다. 실험결과 질소산화물이 약간 증가하였지만 연료소비율, 스모크와 일산화탄소 배출은 감소하였다. 수소의 첨가는 저부하 영역에서는 효과가 거의 없었지만 고부하 영역에서 큰 효과가 있었다.

  • This paper presents the atomization characteristics of single hole injector in the direct injection type diesel engine. The spray characteristics of fuel injector such as the droplet size and velocity were measured by phase Doppler particle analyzer. In this paper, the atomization characteristics of fuel spray are investigated for the experimental analysis of the measuring data by the results of mean diameter and mean velocity of droplet. The effect of fuel injection pressure on the droplet size shows that the higher injection pressure results in the decrease of mean droplet diameter in the fuel spray. The minimum size of fuel spray droplet appears on the location of 40mm axial distance from nozzle exit of diesel injector. Based on the experimental results, the correlation between the droplet diameter and mean velocity of the diesel spray due to the change of axial and radial distance from the nozzle tip were investigated.

폐식물성혼합유지 바이오디젤의 농용기관특성 평가 (Farm Engine Characteristics of Biodiesel using Mixed Waste Vegetable Oil)

  • 화석연료의 고갈과 환경오염이 문제시 되면서 친환경 에너지개발에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그중 바이오디젤은 동,식물성유지 및 폐식용유를 이용하여 생산이 가능할뿐더러 농용엔진에 특별한 개조 없이 사용가능하다. 또한 바이오디젤 자체에 산소를 함유하고 있어 이산화탄소 저감에 효율적이다. 바이오 디젤에 관한 많은 연구가 수행되었으며, 기존의 연구는 단일유지의 폐식용유를 사용하여 바이오디젤을 생산하는 연구가 진행되었다. 하지만 가정에서 배출되는 식물성 폐식용유의 경우 여러 가지가 혼합되어 배출되고 있어, 혼합폐식용유지의 바이오디젤 특성평가가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 폐식물성유지(폐대두유, 폐카놀라유, 폐해바라기유)를 중량비(1:4, 1:1.5 1:0.66, 1:0.25)로 혼합하여 바이오디젤을 생산하고, 생산한 바이오디젤을 농용기관에 이용하여 농용기관의 출력특성 및 배기배출물특성 평가를 실시하였다. 실험에 사용된 농용기관은 배기량이 673cc인 직접분사식 디젤기관(ND10DE, Daedong, Korea)이며, 엔진성능평가를 위해 토크는 토크센서(YDL-704s, Setech, Korea)를 사용하였다. 배기배출물 평가는 배기가스분석기(HG-550, Airlex, Germany)를 이용하여 이산화탄소, 질소산화물을의 배출량을 측정하였다. 폐식용유를 이용하여 생산한 바이오디젤과 경유의 기관성능을 비교한 결과 토크와 축출력의 경우 BD의 혼합량이 증가할수록 줄어들었다. 토크는 혼합된 유지에 따라 상용운전범위인 1500rpm~2400rpm에서 평균 대두와 카놀라유를 혼합하여 생산한 BD10은 7.2%, BD20은 12.1% 감소하였고, 대두와 해바라기유를 혼합하여 생산한 BD10은 11.3% BD20은 16.3% 감소하였다. 또한 해바라기와 카놀라유를 혼합하여 생산한 BD10은 8.3%, BD20은 14.6% 감소하였다. 이는 BD의 발열량이 경유에 비해 낮아 토크가 감소한 것으로 판단된다. 또한 배기배출물 평가의 경우 질소산화물은 BD의 함랑이 증가함에 따라 경유에 비해 배출량이 증가하는 경향을 보였고, 이산화탄소는 저감되는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 바이오디젤이 함산소연료이므로, 연료내의 산소로 인해 완전연소를 촉진시켜 이산화탄소를 저감시키고 질소산화물은 증가된 것으로 판단된다.

  • 세계적으로 NOx 저감 및 규제치의 강화로 인해 디젤기관에서 발생되는 NOx 제거에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이며, 암모니아 환원제와 배출가스의 NOx를 혼합하여 촉매 존재하에서 NOx를 제거하는 시스템이 개발되고 있다. 대부분 암모니아를 보관성이 용의한 요소(Urea) 수용액으로 대체하여 배기관 내에 직접 요소수를 분사하며 요소 수용액이 고온의 배기가스에 의해 증발되어 암모니아를 환원시키며, 촉매를 통하여 탈질을 하는 Urea-SCR 시스템을 채택하고 있다. 따라서 촉매전단에서 요소수가 완전히 증발되고, 또한 촉매 입구에서 요소수의 증발로 인해 환원된 암모니아의 분포도 균일해야 함으로 Urea-SCR 시스템이 배기가스 유동 및 온도에 최적화된 분무특성을 가지는 분사제어 시스템을 제시하고자 한다.

직접 분사식 디젤기관에서 Dimethoxy Methane과 Cooled EGR방법을 이용한 Smoke와 NOx의 동시저감 (Simultaneous Reduction of Smoke and NOx by Dimethoxy Methane and Cooled EGR Method in a DI Diesel Engine)

  • In this study, the effects of oxygen component in fuel and exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) method on the exhaust emissions has been investigated for a D.I. diesel engine. It was tested to estimate change of exhaust emission characteristics for the commercial diesel fuel and oxygenate blended fuel which has five kinds of blending ratio. Dimethoxy methane(DMM) contains oxygen component 42.5% in itself, and it is a kind of effective oxygenated fuel for reduction of smoke emission. It was affirmed that smoke emission was decreased with increasing of DMM blending ratio. But, NOx emission was increased compared with commercial diesel fuel. It was needed a NOx reduction counterplan that EGR method was used as a countermeasure for NOx reduction. It was found that simultaneous reduction of smoke and NOx emission was achieved with DMM blended fuel and cooled EGR method(1015%).

순수 DME 및 DME 혼합연료의 직접분사식 디젤기관의 성능 및 배기가스 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Performance and Exhaust Emissions of DI Diesel Engine Operated with Neat DME and DME Blended Fuels)

  • DME is a good alternative fuel to reduce the smoke remarkably when used in a diesel engine, while problems concerned with low lubricity and high compressibility exist. In the present study, single cylinder DI diesel engine was operated with neat DME and DME blended fuels which are DME-diesel blended fuel and DME-propane blended fuel. The results showed that the power of the neat DME and DME blended fuels was the same as that of pure diesel oil, and the specific energy consumption slightly increased. In addition, smoke emission was considerably reduced with the increase of DME content up to zero level, but NOx emission was slightly increased.

  • The Effects of cooled and hot EGR(exhaust gas recirculation) on the characteristics of smoke and NOx emission have been investigated using a single cylinder, water-cooled, four cycle, DI diesel engine at several loads and speeds. In this study, a manually controlled EGR system was installed on a agricultural diesel engine which was operated at various operating system. And, the effects of hot EGR and cooled EGR on smoke and NOx emission were compared. The results showed that cooled EGR method was more effective than hot EGR method on smoke and NOx emission.

  • In a diesel engine the phenomenon of spray impaction on a chamber wall has been taken as an undesirable matter because of the deposition of fuel on the surfaces, and the subsequent slow evaporation and mixing with air resulting in unburned hydrocarbons. Therefore many researches have concentrated on avoiding fuel impingement on surfaces. On the contrary done a number of studies using spray wall impactions in a positive way, which makes the droplets smaller, changes the direction into free spaces far from the wall and also improves mixing with air. In this paper the size of the impaction site prepared for the injection spray which is raised from the bottom in the piston bowl center is analysed as both simulative and experimental manner.
