A Cognition Analysis of Factors of Employment and Successful Career Among Faculty, Students, and Business Leaders in Engineering (여성 취업과 직장 내 성공 요인에 대한 공대학생, 교수 및 기업체 대표 간의 인식 분석)

  • We compared the cognitions of students, faculty, and business leaders in engineering related to woman employment and successful career. For this research, we developed questionnaires for 240 students of Korea National University of Transportation and Korea National University of Education, and 8 faculty who taught the students in the improvement program of engineering education environment for gender sensitivity, and 28 business leaders of company located in Chungbuk. As results, there were lots of difference among the cognitions of students, faculty, and the leaders related to woman employment and successful career. Especially, leaders gave considerable thought to upright character and affective capacity when they select employees. Therefore, we need to concentrate efforts to bring up talent women whom companies prefer by strengthening the strength and make up for the weakness as women in the improvement program of engineering education environment for gender sensitivity.

A Study on the Effect of Female Insurance Planners' Personal Traits on Job Performance in Dangjin, Chungnam (충남 당진지역 여성보험설계사의 개인적 특성이 직무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the effect of female insurance planners' personal traits on job performance in Dangjin, Chungnam. The study results showed that job importance recognition(p<.05, ${\beta}=.321$) significantly affected job satisfaction, so highly recognizing the importance and social reputation improved job satisfaction. Personal traits didn't significantly affected contract performace and workplace satisfaction, but job performance varied by continuos service year. This study provided implications by finding out the degree of importance of personal traits on job performance improvement and verifying the effect of personal factors on performace enhancement of female insurance planners.

Working Females' Perceptions and Evaluations on Employer-Supported Child Care Service: Centered on Professional Working Females (직장교육에 대한 인식 및 만족도에 관한 연구 -전문적 여성 종사자를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of the present study was to examine how working females evaluated and perceived the employer-supported child care services, and how the evaluations and perceptions were different depending on their socio-demographic characteristics. A survey was administered to 164 working females, mostly, in professional jobs, to investigate their satisfaction to the employer-supported child care service and current child care policy. Major findings are as follows: Working females showed higher degrees of satisfaction on the employer-supported child care service and showed lower degrees of satisfaction on the current child care polidy. The more they work in professional jobs and the more they have high educational background, the more they showed satisfactions to the employer-supported child care services.

A Study on Child Day Care and Job Satisfaction of Married Women Employed Outside Home (기혼직장여성의 탁아실태와 직무만족도)

  • The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the child care support and job satisfaction of married women employed outside home. The data for this study were collected from a survey of 350 married women employed outside home who were residing in North Cholla Province. Major fimding are summarized in the following. First, many married women were pressured by the burdens child rearing(54.5%) and houshold chores(39.6%). Second, the daycare arrangements for children under age seven were diverse. Just under half of the children were cared for by the employed mother'parents(25.1%), or by the mother's parents-in law(21.1%). The rest were sent to daycare center(40.6%), cared for by a hired helper(7.6%), or sent to an industrial on- site daycare center(1.0%). Third, about half of the married employed mothers(47.5%) wished for an on-site daycare service at their workplace. Fourth, the variables that affected employed mothers job satisfaction were age, job, husband's job type, the income of the mother, the reason of the mother's employment, the degree of husband's houshold labor participation, and the type of social and employer's support for chid care.

Food Habit of Career Women (직장여성의 식습관에 관한 조사연구)

  • This study was carried out to describe the food habit. Five hundreds ten women working more than 6 months were chosen for samples among the residents in Seoul and Kyungki provinces. This survey was done by questionnaire from the 5th September to the 5th October 1996. The results was followed: 1. The average score of the food habit in the career women was 9.6 among the total score 20. 2. The food habit of the career women appeared worse to whom were younger, single, and having loss educational backgrounded and living apart from family. When the average score of food habit was compared between groups, nurses group was lower than the other group, and shift workers. 3. Education and guidance for appropriate diet and food habit will be considered as necessary for health of the working women.
