Influence of the Perception of Vocational Ethics and Education on Job Stress and Job Commitment in Occupational Therapists (작업치료사의 직업윤리와 교육에 대한 인식이 직무스트레스와 직무몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • The aimed of this research was to identify the influence of perception of the vocational ethics and education on job stress and job commitment in occupational therapists. 173 occupational therapists measure for perception of vocational ethics and education, job stress and job commitment, the findings of the study were as follows. First, perception of vocational ethics and education was correlated with job stress, job commitment(p<.01). Second, perception of vocational ethics and education sub-factor of education experience(p<.01), seriousness of ethical issues(p<.05) was found to have affected the job stress. Third, perception of vocational ethics and education sub-factor of education experience(p<.05) was found to have affected the job commitment. Through the results of this study, systematic education will be needed to recognize the importance of vocational ethics and improve it.

A Study on the Correlation between Major Education and Occupational Value Perception of Physical Therapy College Students (물리치료학과 대학생의 전공 교육과 직업가치 인식의 상관성 연구)

  • This study aimed to discover the satisfaction of physical therapy students' major education and the perception of the occupational value of physical therapists and provided basic data to be used for career guidance of college students majoring in physical therapy. A questionnaire survey was conducted online to collect data on participants' general characteristics, motivation for joining the Department of Physical Therapy, satisfaction with their academic majors, and perception of occupational and social value of physical therapy. Using SPSS version 28, frequency and correlation analyses were undertaken and a Chi-square test performed for 174 respondents. As a result of the study, there was no significant difference in major education satisfaction according to gender and grade with as each p-value .368, .685. There was a significant difference in perception of job value according to gender as a p-value .032, and there was no significant difference in the p-value according to gender of .463. There was no significance difference in social job perception according to gender and grade with as each p-value .483, .077. There was positive correlation with the correlation coefficient of .483 that analyzed the level of perception of occupational value of physical therapists according to satisfaction of major education. In conclusion, students's high satisfaction with their academic majors exhibited considerable correlation with their perceived high occupational value of physical therapy. It is believed that these results can be used in career guidance for college students majoring in physical therapy.

Professional Job Perception and Job Satisfaction, and Its Related Factors Among Medical Recorders Engaged in General Hospitals (의무기록사의 직업전문성 인식도와 직무만족도 수준 및 관련요인)

  • This study was conducted to determine the factors affecting the professional job perception and job satisfaction of medical recorders working at general hospitals. The study subjects were 314 medical recorders and health information technicians working at 42 general hospitals. The investigation was conducted using a standardized self-administered questionnaire during March 4-April 23, 2013. As a result, there was a significant correlation among gender, age, marital status, monthly salary, BMI, position, aptitude for one's duties, wish for a career transition, and perception of the prospects of the social status of medical recorders and health information technicians in the future and professional job perception. In particular, the demographic characteristics and work-related characteristics suggested a high correlation with the professional job perception. There was a significant correlation between age, monthly salary, BMI, position, work satisfaction, wish for a career transition, perception of the prospects of the respondent's social status, and professional job perception and work satisfaction. In particular, the work-related characteristic variables and professional job perception indicate a high correlation with the work satisfaction. The results indicated a high correlation between the demographic characteristics and job-related characteristics variables in terms of the professional job perception of medical recorders and health information technicians and between the work-related characteristics and professional job perception variables in terms of work satisfaction.

An Analysis on Occupational Content in the Technology & Home Economics Textbooks of High School (고등학교 기술·가정 교과서의 직업 내용 분석)

  • This study analyzed content of and recognition on occupations shown from Technology Home Economics textbooks of the high school elective subject having a higher connection with the career development capability for the occupational world as shown from a curriculum analysis. Hence, this study selected 3 kinds of high school Technology Home Economics textbooks with a higher share from 6 in the 2007 revised curriculum and analyzed a frequency by characteristic of occupational content and recognition on description of a occupation. Content analyzed by researchers was examined by 2 school teachers to ensure the validity and objectivity of research findings. Research findings show that there is a great deal of frequency difference in occupations suggested by publisher and unit in the Technology Home Economics subject. Also suggestion frequency of the occupational classification by level from Korean standard industrial classification did not correspond to an actual situation of employment. Occupation names suggested from textbooks occupied 3.3% of those by Korean Occupation Dictionary, showing a higher suggestion ratio at occupations preferred by adolescents. In the textbooks, occupations were suggested from reading materials, photos and illustrations more than from texts. Recognition on descriptions of occupations showed for the most part the neutral(82.8%) and the positive16.2%)', and there was no biased intention even from some negative cases(1.0%). Based on research findings, this research has significance in that it suggested things to be considered for teaching career development capability in the high school Technology Home Economics subject and need for cultivating teachers' specialty to understand occupations and instruct career development. It also suggested improvements to be required for a new curriculum textbook.

Professional Job Perception and Its Related Factors among Medical Recorders engaged in General Hospitals (일부 종합병원 의무기록사의 직업전문성 인식도 및 그의 관련요인)

  • This study was conducted to the purpose of elucidating the factors affecting the professional job perception of the medical recorders working at general hospitals. The study subjects were 428 medical recorders working at general hospitals. The survey was conducted using a standardized self-administered questionnaire from September 1 to 30, 2015. As a results, the professional job perceptions of the subjects were significantly related to the group of lower age, lower educational level, the unmarried group than the married group, lower monthly income, lower BMI, lower job position, dissatisfaction in work, unfit to the job, considering quit the job, irregular exercise, irregular eating breakfast, lower perception on socioeconomic status of medical recorders, lower perception on socioeconomic status of oneself, and lower future status of medical recorders. In particular, hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that the sociodemographic characteristics and the job related characteristics is highly correlated with the professional job perception. In conclusion, it suggested that the professional job perception of medical recorders was significantly related to the sociodemographic characteristics and the job related characteristics.

Music Therapists' Perceptions on Professionalism (직업전문성에 대한 음악치료사의 인식)

  • This study investigated how music therapists perceive the professionalism of the profession. A total of 98 certified music therapists completed the online survey for a 46.7% response rate, and 78 questionnaires were included in the analysis after excluding incomplete responses. The results of this study demonstrated that music therapists show a high level of standards for music therapy professionalism in general. Meanwhile, the respondents gave their lowest rating on the perception of their occupation as a social service addressing the needs of society. The majority of respondents rated the level of their professionalism as high and they tended to identify individual competency as the most important factor. Also, there were significant differences in perceived professionalism depending on the length of clinical practice and level of education. These results indicate that the quality of training may contribute to a high level of perception on professionalism. Also, lower levels of perception on social aspects of the professionalism support the need for continuing education to broaden the understanding of professionalism. Given the importance of professionalism in enhancing the quality of care for clients and expanding the profession, further studies were suggested to increase understanding of the music therapy professionalism and propose strategies for maintaining the professionalism of music therapists.

  • 한국에서 해운산업으로 배출되는 여성 인력은 년 간 800여명에 이른다. 그 중 과반수의 이하의 여성인력만이 매 년 해운선사에 취업하여 종사하고 있으나, 여러 가지 현안 사항들로 채용의 기회는 남성에 비해 현재까지는 적은 편이다. 여성 해기사의 고용기피 이유들 중 하나는 여성해기사가 실제 취업활동시 '남성에 비해 우월하지 않을 것이다' 라는 사회적 인식의 차이도 영향을 미친다는 가정하에 실제 여성 해기사와 승선 경험이 있는 선원과 그렇지 않은 선원을 대상으로 여성 해기사의 업무 성취도, 팀협력, 의사소통 능력, 직업 만족도 및 직업에 관한 책임감의 범위로 인식의 차이를 설문조사하였다.

Study on Employment Preference and Employment Perception and Job Value of Dental Hygiene Department Graduating Students (4년제 치위생학과 졸업예정자의 취업선호도와 취업인식 및 직업의식에 관한 조사연구)

  • This study was purposed to study on employment preference and employment perception and job value of dental hygiene department graduating students. The subjects of the study were 111 graduating students on 4-year-course K-University, dental hygiene department at W-city in Gangwon-do. The questionnaire consisted of 30 questions about general characteristics, employment characteristics and job value. The data were analyzed using the frequency analysis, Mann-Whitney U-test or Kruskal-Wallis test, and the Pearson's correlation between the level of job recognition with IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 20.0. The significance level was 0.05. There were significant difference between major satisfaction, grade, number of certificate and job value(p<0.05). Each questions of job value showed a significant correlation(p<0.01). Although there are limited sample qroups, this study identified employment characteristics and job value of dental hygiene department graduating students on 4-year-course and could be used for future career and job guidance.

The Effects of Social Recognitions on Occupational Confidence and Job Satisfaction Among Hotel Employees in Daeion Area (호텔종사원의 사회적인식이 직업의식과 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study was done to find out how social recognitions to affect hotel employees' self-confidence in their job and job satisfaction. For the purpose of the study, literatures on job satisfaction and occupational self-confidence were reviewed and empirical analysis were carried out with the hotel employees in Daejeon area. Through the study we found that hotel employees with family members who showed a positive attitude for the hoteliers showed higher degree of occupational confidence and job satisfaction for their job. The study also found that there was a significant relations between social recognitions and job satisfaction. In addition, the study showd that job confidence and job satisfaction were significantly correlated.

  • The main purpose of this study is to investigate influence of sheltered workshop management consulting on management performance and reflect its outcome in order to improve the rationalization of management at sheltered workshop. The major results of this study that are summarized as follows: First of all, executive of sheltered workshop has expected management consulting. Management performance consist of business management, marketing, accounting/finance, production/operations. Marketing appears to have the highest expectations of these. Second, executive of sheltered workshop has expected management performance. Management performance consists of customer satisfaction Performance, internal process performance, financial performance. Internal process performance appears to have the highest expectations of these. Third, executive of sheltered workshop recognize management consulting that affects customer satisfaction performance. In particular, appears to have the greatest impact on the field of business management. Fourth, management consulting performance of sheltered workshop affects management consulting that affects internal process Performance. In particular, business management, production/operations appear to have the highest affectability better than others of these. Fifth, executive of sheltered workshop recognize management consulting that affects financial performance. In particular, business management, production/operations appear to have the highest affectability better than others of these.
