  • 논문은 동해화력발전처의 이차공기송풍기를 가변 회전수 제어하여 소내 소비 전력을 절감하고 전동기의 직입기동에 의한 스트레스를 줄이기 위하여 실증 적용된 동해화력발전처 이차 공기 송풍기 구동용 H-브릿지 멀티레벨 인버터에 관한 것이다. H-브릿지 멀티레벨 인버터는 독립적으로 절연된 직류 부를 갖는 저압의 단상 인버터(셀 인버터)를 다수 직렬 접속하여 고압 3상 전압을 출력하는 Cascaded H-브릿지 전압형 인버터이다. 본 논문에서는 동해화력발전처에 실증 적용된 6.6kV, 1MVA급 인버터의 계통 병입 후 부하 변동 시험을 통하여 신뢰성을 입증하였다.

  • This thesis proposed H-Bridge Multi-Level Inverter for Fluidized Bed Combustion Boiler Secondary Air Fan in 200MW thermal power plant. The adjustable speed drive systems improve the efficiency in lightly load condition and extend the life span of motor by limiting the over current at starting. H-Bridge Multi-level Inverter is composed of the several series low voltage power cell inverters, which have the independent isolated do link, in each phase. KEPRI(Korea Electric Power Research Institute) has successfully completed to develop, install, and commission H-Bridge Multi-level Inverter(6.6kV, 1MVA). This thesis gives a full detail about H-Bridge Multi-level Inverter, proposed boiler DCS(Distributed Control System) logic, and commissioning test result.

  • This paper presents a multiband octa-phase LC VCO for SDR receiver. Four identical LC VCOs are connected by using series coupling transistor to obtain the octa-phase signal and low phase noise characteristic. For a multiband application, a band tuning circuit that consists of a switch capacitor circuit and two MOS varactors is proposed. As the MOS switch is on/off state, the frequency range will be varied. In addition, two varactors make the VCO be immune to process variation of the oscillation frequency. The VCO is designed in 0.18-um CMOS technology, consumes 12mA current from 1.8V supply voltage and operates with a frequency band from 885MHz to 1.342GHz (41% tuning range). As driving sub-harmonic mixer, the proposed VCO covers 3 standards(CDMA 2000 1x, WCDMA, WiBro). The measured phase noise is -105dBc@100kHz, -115dBc@1MHz, -130dBc@10MHz for CDMA 2000 1x, WCDMA, WiBro respectively.

  • This paper proposes a cost-efficient and flexible FPGA-based logic circuit emulation platform. By improving the performance and adding more features, this new platform is an enhanced version of our LAPG. It consists of an FPGA-based hardware engine and software element to drive the emulation and monitor the results. It also provides an interactive verification environment which uses an efficient communication protocol through a bi-directional serial link between the host and the FPGA board. The experimental results show that this new approach saves $55%{\sim}99%$ of communication overhead compared with other methods. According to the test results, the new LAPG is more area efficient in complex circuits with many I/O ports.

  • In this paper, it is performed the optimal design of the UV LED bar which can be used variously. The UV LED Bar emits ultraviolet rays, so it is important to emit ultraviolet rays constantly for the purpose of use. In order to emit a certain amount of ultraviolet rays as ever, the ultraviolet ray emission should be driven by a constant current source within the operable input voltage range. And also the heat dissipation is particularly important because of the long ultraviolet emission retention time due to the UV utilization characteristics. In addition, since human body protection is essential, the algorithm is configured to operate according to human body detection using distance sensor and Bluetooth. Three 365nm UV LEDs were used in series to emit ultraviolet UVA, operating at the constant current of 500mA with an efficiency of 87.5% and a power consumption of 6.006W. The ultraviolet radiation dose was measured at $5.35mW/cm^2$ at the distance of 10 cm when measured by the Lutron ultraviolet measuring instruments.

  • Due to the increase in capacity of auxiliary machinery in power plant, the importance of energy saving has been greatly emphasized. If the speed of fans or pumps is controlled in accordance with the variation of load, large electric energy can be saved. Large capacity inverter, 2MVA GTO inverter, has been developed by operating two of 1MVA unit inverters in parallel. The parallel operation of the unit inverter is accomplished through two output transformers of which the secondary windings are connected in series. The system is composed of one control cubicle, one rectifier cubicle and 2 unit inverter cubicles. This inverter system was applied to the sea water lift pump(SLP) driven by a 6.6KV 1500KW induction motor in Seo-Inchon power plant to save the electric energy. The parallel operation of inverters by 180 degrees apart in switching frequency helps to reduce the harmonic components.

A Study on Development of Conversion Software for Controller Without OPC Stack to Communicate With OPC DA Client (OPC 스택이 없는 제어기와 OPC DA 클라이언트를 통신시키는 변환 소프트웨어 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes method about development of conversion software for controller without OPC stack to communicate with OPC DA client. The proposed method is composed of development of OPC server based on OPC DA standard protocol, development of GUI application can be checked the OPC tag and point informations, development of conversion module to convert from OPC protocol to open standard protocol. In the stage of development of OPC server based on OPC DA standard protocol, we develope server in the pc to transmit and receive datum through OPC DA protocol with OPC DA client. In the stage of evelopment of GUI application can be checked the OPC tag and point informations, run the OPC DA server and register to window system registry and check OPC tags, points, transmitting and receiving of data from serial communication. In the stage of development of conversion module to convert from OPC protocol to open standard protocol, convert from OPC tag data which has received from OPC DA client to protocol can be communicated with industrial controller using open standard protocol so that support to transmit and receive data. To evaluate the efficiency of the proposed software, we connected OPC DA server software and OPC client, and 5 sample industrial controller which use open standard protocol, as a result we got 96.98% average communication succeeding rate among entire transmitting and receiving packets. We also confirmed that successfully communicated between industrial building controller which uses modbus protocol and industrial OPC DA client using OPC DA conversion software proposed by this dissertation.

  • Batteries are used for main power engine in the fields such as mobiles, electric vehicles and unmanned submarines, for starter and lamp driver in general automotive, for emergency electric source in ship. These days, lead-acid and the lithium ion batteries are increasingly used in the fields of the secondary battery, and the lead-acid battery has a low price and safety comparatively, The lithium ion battery has a high energy density, excellent output characteristics and long life, whereas it has the risk of explosion by reacting with moisture in the air. But Recently, due to the development of waterproof, fireproof, dustproof technology, lithium batteries are widely used, particularly, because their usages are getting wider enough to be used as a power source for hybrid ship and electric propulsion ship, it is necessary to manage more strictly. Hybrid ship has power supply units connected to the packets to produce more than 500kWh large power source, and therefore, A number of the communication modules and wires need to implement the wire inspection and monitor system(WIIMS) that allows monitoring server to transmit detecting voltage, current and temperature data, which is required for the management of the batteries. This paper implements a low price type wireless inspection and monitoring system(WILIMS) of the lithium ion battery for hybrid vessels using BLE wireless communication modules and power line modem( PLM), which have the advantages of low price, no electric lines compared to serial communication inspection systems(SCIS). There are state of charge(SOC), state of health(SOH) in inspection parts of batteries, and proposed system will be able to prevent safety accidents because it allows us to predict life time and make a preventive maintenance by checking them at regular intervals.
