  • This paper deals with usability issue that is one of the important user interface issues in multimedia environment. The purpose of this study is to define the concept of affordance in multimedia environment, which is adapted from product design fields and to seek development plan of more efficient interface and assurance interaction with interface. As a result, it is useful that the concept of affordance in multimedia design is applied as a 'useful clue for performing task.' Furthermore, it is possible that the concept of affordance is used as one of the improving methods of usability for users in multimedia environment.

Concept Analysis of Nursing Student's Ethical Competence (학생간호사의 윤리역량에 대한 개념분석)

  • This study examined the concept of nursing student's ethical competence. The concept analysis process by Walker and Avant was used to clarify the meaning of nursing student's ethical competence. As a result, the concept of nursing student's ethical competence was defined in terms of ethical sensitivity, ethical judgement, willingness to implement ethical behavior, and execution power of ethical behavior. Self-understanding, supportive environment, experience of ethical conflict and experience of ethical education can be seen as antecedents for nursing student's ethical competence. The nursing student's ethical competence results in nursing professionalism, satisfaction with nursing, and patient safety. The results of the analysis establish a basis for an instrument to evaluate nursing student's ethical competence. This will guide educators, as well as managers in healthcare, to develop an education program for improvement nursing student's ethical competence.

On the Role of Intuitive Model for Teaching Operations of Integers in the Middle School Mathematics Class (중학교 수학 수업에서 정수의 사칙계산 지도를 위한 직관적 모델의 역할에 관한 연구)

  • In high school mathematics class, to subtract a number b from a, we add the additive inverse of b to a and to divide a number a by a non-zero number b, we multiply a by the multiplicative inverse of b, which is the formal approach for operations of real numbers. This article aims to give a connection between the intuitive models in middle school mathematics class and the formal approach in high school for teaching operations of negative integers. First, we highlight the teaching methods(Hwang et al, 2008), by which subtraction of integers is denoted by addition of integers. From this methods and activities applying the counting model, we give new teaching methods for the rule that the product of negative integers is positive. The teaching methods with horizontal mathematization(Treffers, 1986; Freudenthal, 1991) of operations of integers, which is based on consistently applying the intuitive model(number line model, counting model), will remove the gap, which is exist in both teachers and students of middle and high school mathematics class. The above discussion is based on students' cognition that the number system in middle and high school and abstracted number system in abstract algebra course is formed by a conceptual structure.

양자화학 입문 과정 교육을 위한 강의 모델의 연구: 시각화와 차별화

  • 양자화학 (quantum chemistry)을 처음 접했을 때, 이전까지의 고전역학 (classical mechanics)에 익숙한 대다수의 학생들은 양자화학을 받아들이는 데 어려움을 겪는다. 모형계에 양자역학 (quantum mechanics)을 직접 적용하여 봄으로써 생소한 양자 개념에 대한 이해를 도울 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 양자동역학 (quantum dynamics)을 수치적으로 구현하는 계산 프로그램을 모형계에 적용하여 양자 개념을 설명할 수 있는 몇 가지 예를 보이고자 한다. 1 차원 시간의존 슈뢰딩거 방정식 (1-D time-dependent $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ equation)의 해를 얻어 양자동역학을 구현하였으며, 그에 해당하는 고전동역학은 뉴턴 방정식 (Newton's equation)의 해로 얻어졌다. 조화 진동자 퍼텐셜 (harmonic oscillator potential), 모스 진동자 퍼텐셜 (Morse oscillator potential), 이중 우물 퍼텐셜 (double-well potential), 네모 퍼텐셜 장벽 (rectangular potential barrier), 그리고 에카트 퍼텐셜 (Eckart potential)에 대한 계산을 수행하였다. 두 가지 동역학을 비교하기 위하여 계산 결과의 시각화 (visualization)를 이용하고 동역학 특성의 차이를 비교하는 차별화 (differentiation)를 강조한다. 영점에너지 (zero-point energy), 위상어긋남 (dephasing), 터널링 (tunneling), 그리고 반사 (reflection) 현상과 같은 양자동역학의 특징을 고전동역학과 비교함으로써 직관적인 이해를 도울 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 양자화학에 입문하는 학생들을 대상으로 쓰일 수 있는 효율적인 강의 모델을 제시할 것으로 기대한다.

  • This study examined the pedagogical approaches on the development of creativity in fashion design education for the 21 st century. In this paper, the concept of the creativity was analyzed with the purpose of devising detailed educational methods by investigating into cognitive and pedagogical natures of the constituents of creativity. One of the most crucial aspects of the creativity is problem solving capability and it was reviewed how creative problem solving capability is applied to the areas of arts and designs. This study particularly explored the specific roles intuition plays in the development of creativity. Insights are very important in enhancing and maintaining creativity and it was shown that intuition can stimulate and reinforce the insights. Also it was suggested was that the development stages of intuition are consistent with the development sequences of creativity in arts and designs. Recommendations for further studies were included.

The Generalization of the Area of Internal Triangles for the GSP Use of Mathematically Gifted Students (중등 영재학생들의 GSP를 활용한 내분삼각형 넓이의 일반화)

  • This study investigates how the GSP helps gifted and talented students understand geometric principles and concepts during the inquiry process in the generalization of the internal triangle, and how the students logically proceeded to visualize the content during the process of generalization. Four mathematically gifted students were chosen for the study. They investigated the pattern between the area of the original triangle and the area of the internal triangle with the ratio of each sides on m:n respectively. Digital audio, video and written data were collected and analyzed. From the analysis the researcher found four results. First, the visualization used the GSP helps the students to understand the geometric principles and concepts intuitively. Second, the GSP helps the students to develop their inductive reasoning skills by proving the various cases. Third, the lessons used GSP increases interest in apathetic students and improves their mathematical communication and self-efficiency.

  • 본 논문에서는 생물체의 세포 내에 존재하는 방대한 객체들 사이의 복잡한 관계들로 표현되는 상호작용 네트워크를 효율적으로 구축할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 바이오 도메인 지식을 사용하여 상호작용 네트워크를 관리 및 활용하기 쉽도록 구축하고, 단백질과 같은 단순 바이오 객체뿐만 아니라 여러 개의 바이오 객체들로 구성된 복합 객체도 관리 할 수 있다. 여기서, 사용자가 바이오 객체들과 이들간의 복잡한 상호작용 관계를 직관적으로 정의 할 수 있는 인터페이스를 제공한다. 또한, 정의된 객체 및 상호작용 관계 정보를 이용하여 바이오 네트워크를 개념적으로 단순하게 표현할 수 있으며, 시각적으로도 네트워크를 자동으로 최적화하여 사용자가 복잡한 네트워크를 쉽게 분석 할 수 있도록 지원한다.

Phenomenal Concept Strategy and A posteriori Physicalism (현상적 개념 전략과 후험적 물리주의)

  • A posteriori physicalists criticize non-physicalist arguments based on the framework of two-dimensional semantics. Most of them argue for physicalism based on the analogy between scientific identity statements and psychophysical identity statements. This paper argues for another version of aposteriori physicalism, so called physicalism employing 'phenomenal concept strategy' or 'exceptionalist strategy', which appeals to merely the nature of phenomenal concept without recourse to a semantic framework. Loar's phenomenal concept strategy employs the aspect of our recognitional ability of objects in criticizing non-physicalism, leading to the argument that phenomenal concepts are 'exceptional' in applying conceivability-possibility link. I critically examine Stoljar's, Chalmers', Raffman's criticisms against Loar's exceptionalists strategy. Loar's phenomenal concept strategy reflects well our psychological aspects surrounding the acquisition and the possession of 'phenomenal concept'. In several respects, Loar's exceptionalist version of a posteriori physicalism is the best explanation for accounting for both the explanatory gap and the a posteriority of psychophysical identity.

Preservice secondary matheamtics teachers' understanding of irrational numbers (예비 중등 교사들의 무리수에 대한 이해)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the preservice secondary mathematics teachers understanding and dimensions of knowledge about definition of irrational numbers and irrational numbers and operations. I adopted a framework consisting of formal dimensions, intuitive numbers, algorithmic dimentions suggested by Tirosh et al.(1998) by adding instrumental dimension for his study. I surveyed 65 preservice secondary mathematics teachers who are in bachelor program and post-bachelor program for teacher certificate by using a questionnaire suggested by Sirotic and Zazkis(2007). The results of this study suggest that 83.1% of the participants gave correct answers in definitions of irrational numbers. 43% of the preservice secondary teachers gave correct answers in adding with irrational numbers. Also 91% of the preservice teachers gave correct answers in multiplying irrational numbers. The preservice teachers appeared to understand irrational numbers and operations at formal dimension. More than half of the preservice teachers gave incorrect answers in adding irrational numbers and a few participants gave incorrect in multiplying irrational numbers. The preservice teachers seemed to understand irrational numbers and operations at intuitive or instrumental dimension. The results also suggest that the preservice secondary mathematics teachers have incorrect understanding about irrational numbers.
