Secure Password Authenticated Key Exchange Protocol for Imbalanced Wireless Networks (비대칭 무선랜 환경을 위한 안전한 패스워드 인증 키 교환 프로토콜)

  • User authentication and key exchange protocols are the most important cryptographic applications. For user authentication, most protocols are based on the users' secret passwords. However, protocols based on the users' secret passwords are vulnerable to the password guessing attack. In 1992, Bellovin and Merritt proposed an EKE(Encrypted Key Exchange) protocol for user authentication and key exchage that is secure against password guessing attack. After that, many enhanced and secure EKE protocols are proposed so far. In 2006, Lo pointed out that Yeh et al.'s password-based authenticated key exchange protocol has a security weakness and proposed an improved protocol. However, Cao and Lin showed that his protocol is also vulnerable to off-line password guessing attack. In this paper, we show his protocol is vulnerable to on-line password guessing attack using new attack method, and propose an improvement of password authenticated key exchange protocol for imbalanced wireless networks secure against password guessing attack.

Arbitration of International Intellectual Property Disputes (국제지적재산분쟁의 중재)

  • To promote the way of resolving the increasing disputes regarding international intellectual property by arbitration, we should overcome uncertainty thwarting the dispute resolution; i.e., whether a dispute regarding intellectual property would be an arbitrable subject, whether the arbitration agreement would be valid and enforceable, and whether the arbitral award could be recognized and enforced in a foreign country. This article is intended to seek how to promote and facilitate the resolution of international disputes regarding intellectual property by arbitration. This article in Chapter II will examine the characteristics of the IP disputes first. Chapter III of this article will study arbitrability of IP disputes. Then, Chapter IV will discuss the requirements, validity, and effectiveness of arbitration agreement of international IP disputes. The author will discuss the procedure of arbitration of the international IP disputes in Chapter V, and finally the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards thereon in Chapter VI. Due to the so called 'territoriality principle' in intellectual property, the international disputes thereof confront numerous procedural setback, e.g., jurisdiction, conflict of laws, the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments or awards. To overcome such setbacks, I propose resolution of international IP disputes by one-step arbitration procedure through widely recognizing the arbitrability of IP disputes, and utilizing unnational nature of arbitration. In addition, I propose to set up the principles as to arbitration of the international IP disputes as the American Law Institute has formulated the principles for International Intellectual Property Litigations. By setting up these principles, I am certain it will be helpful to just and prompt resolution of international IP disputes which occur more frequently these days.

  • In this study was groped a plan for an idea and method of design as the alternative of cure of cocial defect. Ailo, it was referred how an idea and method of design could be used for a cure of social defect and it was considered that an educational form that to actualize the idea and method of design is the basic structure of a cure or improvement of social defect. This educational form actualities exactly the 'media'which the idea and method of design pursue. In the end, an effect of media could probably make social change be practical.

  • Mathematics educators oriented to reform-based curricular have asserted that mathematics teachers should lead instructions where all students in their classrooms are able to participated. In this paper, some practices for them to implement it are discussed. Before explaining them, some discussions are made about students ability to construct knowledge. One of them is that teachers should know different learners construct different understandings because of their differences of prior knowledge and reasoning ability. Also, it was discussed that teachers consider classroom environments, assigning children's sitting and tasks in the light of learning. The reason to state them is that perspectives of them should be changed. Finally, "Teacher's careful listening to learners' responses", "Why do think in that way?, How do you know?, What is it meant?", "accepting ideas from all learners", "no supporting a particular idea", "utilizing waiting time", and "teacher's responses to learner's errors and mistakes" are discussed as practices for letting all learners be participated in the mathematics instruction.

Analysis of the Tsunami Inundation Trace and it's Expectation Area in Coast Using GIS (GIS를 이용한 지진해일시 연안의 침수 흔적 및 예상 지역 분석)

  • The efficient management for minimum losses and demage precautions of fragile region against coastal disasters such as seismic waves and seawater overflows is proceeding continually. This study is to analyze inundation trace and extract expected damage areas with historic records of tsunami using Geographic Information System. Creating a digital elevation model of the Mangsang and the Nobong region in the east coast, we marked inundation record of tsunami and forecasted the flood area with a seismic wave height between 3 m and 5 m. The inundation trace layers and the expected damage areas on the cadastral map layer were superimposed individually. Consequently, the range and lot numbers of inundation expected area were calculated and inundation areas of 5 m tsunami were increased by 2.8 times than 3 m tsunami in case of subject regions. Analyzed results are expected to use evacuation work in case of seismic waves and to predict the compensation of the damaged area. And this study is expected to use suitable countermeasure for prevention from natural disasters.

Detection of Unauthorized Facilities Occupying on the National and Public Land Using Spatial Data (공간정보 자료를 이용한 국·공유지 무단점유 시설물 탐색)

  • This study has proposed a methodology to detect suspicious facilities that occupy national and public land by using the cadastral and digital maps. First, we constructed a spatial database of national & public land based on the cadastral maps by linking its management ledger. Using the PNU (Parcel Number) code as a key field, the data managed by different institutions are integrated into a single spatial information DB (database) and then, the use or nonuse state of each parcel is confirmed on the cadastral map. Next, we explored the suspicious facilities that existed in the unused parcel by utilizing the digital topographical map. Then, the proposed methodology was applied for various regions and tested its feasibility. Through this study, it will be possible to improve the utilization of digital maps and to manage the national and public land efficiently and economically.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the model curriculum for Geomatics/Geoinformatics. Geomatics/Geoinformatics are emerging discipline for spatial data acquisition and processing. They have multidisciplinary characteristics which include surveying, computer sciences, spatial data processing-related disciplines. This study carried out with the in-depth study to the related department's the academic characteristics and curriculums. Generally, the curriculum consists of surveying and information technology. They basically require mathematics, physics as prerequisites. The related-departments belong to the engineering or science part. So, We can conclude that the academic characteristics have to belong In engineering sides. Modern disciplines usually require balanced knowledge, and Geomatics/Geoinformatics have to the multidisciplinary approaches. This study shows 1) the model curriculum of Geomatics/Geoinformatics for the 21st century by analyzing the related departments' curriculum, it consist of surveying, computer/information sciences, sustainable urban management and related laws, etc., 2) the needs of the good cooperation among the related disciplines and industry for the development of standardized texts and curriculums, 3) the needs of new certification for Geomatics/Geoinformatics, etc.

  • Real estate development promotes the efficient management of the land and has immense impact on national economy. So, it is necessary to establish a comprehensive policy by accumulating related information. Real estate development map must have the information about a parcel and adjacent parcel to make it possible to analysis in spatial domain, because error will be manifested in analysis using only real estate attribute information. This can be allocate the attribute of public management information about real estate on cadastral information and spatial information for social infrastructure and buildings. Especially, it must maintain the latest information of changes in the shape and the attributes of the buildings. This study suggested a method for developing a real estate development map based on road name address map and a method to maintain the latest information through the connection with related systems.

  • Intercom System(ICS) of Korean Utility Helicopter(KUH) is an essential equipment for pilot to perform flight mission and it consists of communication system of KUH with VHF-FM radio set and U/VHF-AM radio set. It provides pilots and crews with internal communication, external communication and audible alarm. It has function of controlling volume and selecting two communication modes, normal mode and backup mode. This paper summarizes pilot comments in flight test which are classified by cause of occurrence and the troubleshooting process about each comment. It also describes design improvements which was derived from troubleshooting and suggests verification results of flight test.

A Comparative Study on Affective Characteristics of Mathematically Gifted Children and Average Students (초등학교 수학 영재 및 일반 아동의 정의적 특성 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to compare affective characteristics of mathematically gifted children and average students, by analying self-tests of self-efficacy and attitudes about mathematics. we survey 109 children from Mathematically Gifted Education Institutes located in Busan, and students from 6 elementary schools, each two graded A, B, and C, where schools graded A and B refer to so-called schools with concurrent and general classes and C schools with, semi-special and special classes ones. Those schools are determined through the consideration of geographical, cultural, and environmental conditions of 48 elementary schools under Seobu Educational Office, Busan Metropolitan City. From each of the six schools, a 5th-grade class is selected. That is, 205 students from 6 classes are finally selected. Results of the study can be described as follows. First, mathematically gifted children score higher on whole attitudes about mathematics and interest, preference, and confidence in each subarea than children from schools whose location is classified as A, B, and C. Irrespective of genders, mathematically gifted children are scored higher in the whole attitudes about mathematics than children from schools classified as A, B, and C. Second, mathematically gifted children are higher in score for self-efficacy than children from schools graded A, B, and C. Regardless of gender, mathematically gifted children are scored higher in self-efficacy than other groups of children. But mathematically gifted children's score is not significantly higher than that of children form schools graded A.
