A Study on the Analysis of Water Waves and Harbor Oscillations due to the Development of Pusan Harbor (부산권개발에 따른 파괴분석과 해면부진동에 관한 연구)

  • An accurate estimation of water level variation when thewaves propagate to the coastal regionis very important for the port and harbor development plan. This study describes the application of a hybrid element model to harbor oscillation problem due to the construction of shore structure and implementation of shore boundary. The site selected is Pusan Harbor area with the third development and the Artificial Island plan. The observed water level changes at the site are compared with the result of the numerical experiment. The model gives a very important prediction of water level changes for navigation and harbor design.

  • 수중에서는 매질과 채널의 특성으로 인해 가능한 최대 데이터 전송 속도는 지상통신에서의 데이터 전송 속도에 비해 매우 낮으며, 이를 어떻게 극복하느냐가 매우 중요하다. 특히 천해(shallow water)에서 다중경로(Multipath)로 인한 지연 확산은 심볼 사이의 ISI(Inter Symbol Interference)를 유발시켜 수중 통신 시스템의 성능을 더욱 떨어뜨린다. 본 논문에서는 수중 음향 채널에서 고속 데이터 전송을 위해 OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 방식을 이용한 통신 시스템을 다룬다. 다중경로로 인한 심한 심볼간 간섭을 받는 수중 채널에서 고속 데이터 전송을 위해 OFDM 방식의 통신 시스템의 성능을 평가하였으며, 이를 위해 수중 채널 모델을 이용해 영상 데이타 전송 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

  • Link selection strategy has been an important technical issues of relay network. In this paper, we introduce a link selection scheme in the bidirectional, buffer-aided relay network. Three kinds of information such as the states of the queue at the relay buffer, the qualities of the links, and the states of the queues at the user buffer are considered. Throughput and delay performance is evaluated under three cases with different available information.

  • This paper proposes the modified image method scheme to search the reflected points and the method to calculate the number of rays. These methods are applied to the ray tracing technique for received power and delay profile prediction in microcelular environment. With ray tracing model using these methods, we show the simulated results for various environmental structures. To demonstrate the validity of this approach, these simulated results are compared and analysed with measured results in apartment towns along the street. In addition we proposed the optimum number of multipath rays with the results in microcellular environment.

  • 인터넷에서 단대단 (end-to-end) 가용대역폭 측정은 분산된 응용서비스, 단대단 QoS 보장, 오버레이 네트워크에서의 경로설정, SLA (Service Level Agreements), 분산 네트워크, 지능적인 라우팅 시스템, 비디오/오디오 스트리밍 시스템에서 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 일반적으로 단대단 가용대역폭 측정기법으로 단일-홉-갭 모델에 기반한 패킷 트레인(packet train) 전송을 통하여 가용대역폭을 측정하는 기법과, 각각의 패킷의 전송률을 높여가며 수신측에서의 지연시간(Queueing Delay)를 분석하여 가용대역폭을 측정하는 자가 혼잡 유발(SLoPS : Self-Loading Periodic Stream) 기법이 있다. 본 논문에서는 자가 혼잡 유발 기법을 이용하여 가용대역폭 측정 방안을 제안한다.

  • 지금까지 제조업체는 생산 및 물류 시스템의 효율성 증대를 통한 제품판매 증가에만 주의를 기울여왔다. 그러나 환경에 대한 관심이 높아지고, 관련 법규가 엄격해지면서 폐기물 처리와 재활용이 기업의 생존을 위한 중요한 과제로 떠오르고 있다. 자동차 제조업계에서 역시 폐자동차 재사용 및 재활용에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있으나, 한국에서는 자동차 산업의 외형적 성장과는 달리 이에 대한 시스템 구축이 미비한 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 폐자동차의 재활용에 관한 외국의 사례를 조사하고, 폐자동차의 회수 및 해체 촉진을 위한 바람직한 정부 정책 모델을 제시하려 한다.

  • In many automated systems, such as manufacturing systems and process plants, a fieldbus is a very important component for the exchange of various and sometimes crucial information. Some of the information has a tendency to rapidly lose its value as time elapses after its creation. Such information or data is called real-time data that includes sensor values and control commands. In order to deliver these data in time, the fieldbus network should be tailored to have short delay with respect to the individual time limit of various data. Fine-tuning the network for a given traffic requires the knowledge on the relationship between the protocol parameters such as timer values and the performance measure such as network delay. This paper presents a mathematical performance model to calculate communication delays of the Profibus-FMS network when the timer value and the traffic characteristics are given.

  • Efficiency of geothermal heat exchanger operation has close relation with temperature variation of the aquifer where the exchanger is installed. In the case of long-term operation, temperature distribution of the aquifer would be similar to that of water circulating in the exchanger, which causes the decrease of heat exchange rate. Therefore, the operation period of the heat exchanger should be controlled so that the temperature distribution of the aquifer is recovered. We developed a model to determine the operation period to acquire the optimal efficiency under the given aquifer condition. With this suggested method, when we use closed-loop heat exchanger, the operation efficiency of the geothermal heat exchanger is expected to be maximized by determining the optimal operation period.

  • A new technique is proposed for switch-level logic simulation for NMOS and CMOS logic circuits. For the simple inverter the rise or fall delay time is approximated by a product of polynomials of the input waveform slope, the output loading capacitance and the device configuration ratio, the polynomial coefficients being so determined as to best fit the SPICE simuladtion results for a given fabrication process. This approach can easily and accurately be extened to the case of multiple input transitions. The simulation results show that proposed method can predict the delay times within 5% error and with a speed up by a factor of three orders of magnitude for several circuits tested, as compared with the SPICE simulation.

  • A new approach on identifying a first-order plus time-delay (FOPTD) model using finite--duration pulse inputs has been presented recently [1]. The identification methods are very simple because it is enough to observe only two extremes and the time when they occur in the transient response to pulse input. However, when there is mismatch between actual system and FOPTD model. how sensitive the methods are has not been studied. In this paper, we investigate robustness issue of those identification algorithms in the presence of the model structure mismatch and uncertainties. Through an example we will demonstrate it.
