Random Access Phase Optimal Allocation Method Through Pattern Correction in WBAN (WBAN 환경에서 패턴 보정을 통한 임의접근구간 최적 할당 방법)

  • WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network) is a network which is to consistently monitor body signals with implanted or attached sensor nodes. Especially, nodes that are used in medical services have to operate with low power consumption since they are hard to replace, and have to guarantee high data rate and low transmission delay for consistent signal monitor. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that aims to reduce transmission delay and power consumption, and guarantees stable throughput, by assuming the number of active nodes, and followed by dynamically adjusting the random access period and transmission possibilities in a superframe. The assumed number of active nodes may be incorrect since it only relies on the channel status of a previous superframe. Therefore, we assume the number of active nodes and define a pattern. And revise the number of the active nodes with the defined pattern. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we have implemented a WBAN environment with the MATLAB. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm provides better throughput, low power consumption, and low transmission delay when compared to the slotted ALOHA of the IEEE 802.15.6.

  • One of the Cooperative Intelligent Transportation System(C-ITS) priority services is collision prevention support service. Several studies have considered V2I2V communication-based collision prevention support services using Artificial Neural Networks(ANN). However, such services still show some issues due to a low penetration of C-ITS devices and large delay, particularly when loading massive traffic data into the server in the C-ITS center. This study proposes the Artificial Neural Network-based Collision Warning Service(ACWS), which allows upstream vehicle to update pre-determined weights involved in the ANN by using real-time sectional traffic information. This research evaluates the proposed service with respect to various penetration rates and delays. The evaluation result shows the performance of the ACWS increases as the penetration rate of the C-ITS devices in the vehicles increases or the delay decreases. Furthermore, it reveals a better performance is observed in more advanced ANN model-based ACWS for any given set of conditions.

Trajectory Optimization and the Control of a Re-entry Vehicle during TAEM Phase using Artificial Neural Network (재진입 비행체의 TAEM 구간 최적궤적 설계와 인공신경망을 이용한 제어)

  • This paper describes a result of the guidance and control for re-entry vehicle during TAEM phase. TAEM phase (Terminal Aerial Energy Management phase) has many conditions, such as density, velocity, and so on. Under these conditions, we have optimized trajectory and other states for guidance in TAEM phase. The optimized states consist of 7 variables, down-range, cross range, altitude, velocity, flight path angle, vehicle's azimuth and flight range. We obtained the optimized reference trajectory by DIDO tool, and used feedback linearization with neural network for control re-entry vehicle. By back propagation algorithm, vehicle dynamics is approximated to real one. New command can be decided using the approximated dynamics, delayed command input and plant output, NARMA-L2. The result by this control law shows a good performance of tracking onto the reference trajectory.

Evaluation of Early age Performance of Geogrid-reinforced Asphalt Pavements (섬유그리드 보강 아스팔트 포장 초기 공용성 평가)

  • Geogrid-reinforced asphalt pavement is a pavement type applicable to overlay for repair in addition to new construction. The geosynthetic materials are placed between the asphalt layers to stop or delay propagation of the cracking existing at lower layers and to reduce the rutting. In this study, the cracking, rutting, IRI, and deflection were investigated to compare the performance between geogrid-reinforced asphalt pavement and ordinary or polymer modified asphalt pavement. Based on field conditions, the 11 sections were classified into 3 groups; sections proper to compare, sections with restrictions to compare, sections with difficulties in comparing, and the data was statistically analyzed. Larger resistance to rutting and increased IRI were measured at the geogrid-reinforced asphalt pavement sections comparing to the ordinary or polymer modified asphalt pavement sections. However, the deflections of the pavements were similar and the resistance to the cracking could not be compared because of short pavement lives.

  • Since the elderly voices include a lot of noise caused by physiological changes in respiration, phonation, and resonance, the performance of the convergence health-care equipments such as speech recognition, synthesis, analysis program done by elderly voice is deteriorated. Therefore it is necessary to develop researches to operate health-care instruments with elderly voices. In this study, a voice activity detection using a symmetric higher-order differential energy function (SHODEO) was developed and was compared with auto-correlation function(ACF) and the average magnitude difference function(AMDF). It was confirmed to have a better performance than other methods in the voice interval detection. The voice activity detection will be applied to a voice interface for the elderly to improve the accessibility of the smart devices.

  • This paper proposes the instantaneous source voltage and phase current control for torque ripple reduction of a high speed miniature BLDC motor. As compared with general BLDC motor, a high speed miniature BLDC motor has a fast electrical time-constant. So the current and torque ripple are very serious in a conventional PWM switching during conduction period. In order to reduce the switching current ripple, instantaneously controlled source voltage is supplied to the inverter system according to the motor speed and load torque. In addition, the fast hysteresis current controller can keep the phase current In the limited band. The proposed method is verified by the computer simulation and experimental results.

  • 본 논문에서는 고음질 오디오 신호에 임의로 삽입된 반향(Echo)신호가 음질에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 이를 이용한 오디오 워터마킹 기법에 대해 다룬다. 일반적으로 오디오 신호에 반향을 첨가하게 되면 음색이 더욱 풍부해지는 효과를 얻을 수 있지만. 이 때 삽입된 반향신호의 시간 지연과 크기가 충분히 작을 경우에는 심리 음향모델의 시간영역 마스킹 효과에 의해 지각되지 않을 수도 있다 한편 오디오 신호의 구간별로 임의 삽입된 반향의 시간지연을 검출할 수 있다면, 이를 이용한 정보 감춤(data hiding)및 워터마킹 기법에 활용할 수 있다. 반향신호를 이용하여 원 신호에 정보를 삽입하게 되면 가우시안 잡음이나 PN 시퀸스를 이용하는 경우처럼 오디오 신호에 이질적인 잡음을 첨가하지 않기 때문에 청감 특성상 유리하며, 오디오 신호 고유의 통계적 특성을 유지 할수 있는 장점이 있다. 그러나 반향의 첨가가 음질의 왜곡은 초래하지 않으면서 정보의 검출이 가능하도록 하기위해서는 원 신호의 특성에 따른 반향 첨가 기술이 요구된다.

Delay-dependent Stability Criteria for Uncertain Stochastic Neural Networks with Interval Time-varying Delays (구간 시변 지연이 존재하는 불확실 확률적 뉴럴 네트웍의 지연의존 안전성 판별법)

  • In this paper, the problem of global asymptotic stability of uncertain stochastic neural networks with delay is considered. The delay is assumed to be time-varying and belong to a given interval. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, new delay-dependent stability criteria for the system is derived in terms of LMI(linear matrix inequality). Three numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of proposed method.

  • In this paper, we consider the design problem of delay-dependent robust $H{\infty}$ controller of discrete-time descriptor systems with parameter uncertainties and interval time-varying delays in state and control input by delay-dependent LMI (linear matrix inequality) technique. A new delay-dependent bounded real lemma for discrete-time descriptor systems with time-varying delays is derived. The condition for the existence of robust $H{\infty}$ controller and the robust $H{\infty}$ state feedback control law are proposed by LMI approach. A numerical example is demonstrated to show the validity of the design method.

Prediction of Crack Growth Retardation Behavior by Single Overload (단일 과대 하중에 의한 균열 성장 지연 거동 예측)

  • Single overload fatigue tests with overload sizes ranging from 50% and 100% have been performed to investing ate the fatigue crack growth retardation behavior. A modified and experimental method of Willenborg's model for prediction of crack growth retardation behavior has been developed, based on evaluations of equivalent plastic zone size (EPZS) changing its size along the overload plastic zone boundary. The minimum crack growth rates of each overload size are linearly decreased with overload size increasing, but fatigue lives extended by single overload are increasing much more unlike the crack growth rates. Comparisons of crack growth behavior predicted by EPZS model and Willenborg model have shown that the EPZS model accounts for overload effects better than Willenborg model. These effects include delayed retardation, large retardation region, minimum crack growth rate, and the increase rate of crack growth rate in the region crack growth rate recovered.
