  • This paper aims to consider regional linkages in the Province of Young-nam mainly through a social network analysis of sociocultural activities such as leisure, friendly relations and visiting relatives. Passenger O-D data as of 2012 provided by National Transportation DB Center are analyzed using the NetMiner 4.0. The analytical results show that the sociocultural relationship between Daegu-Kyoungbuk and Busan-Ulsan-Kyioungnam is not so close. In particular, some north regions of Kyoungbuk are relatively isolated in the Province of Young-nam. This implicates that regions in the Province of Young-nam are not closely united at least in terms of sociocultural linkages although they are in the homogeneous natural environment of the basin of the Nakdong-river and share a same historical background for a long time. Consequentially this work suggests the Province of Young-nam may not be an united single region on the contrary to a notion of it so far.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of organizational climate on the resource linking skills of social workers working in community welfare centers as well as the mediating effects of reflective thinking in these relationships. To test the mediating effects, we set up a research model based on previous studies on the organizational climate, resource linkage skills, and reflective thinking of social workers. The subjects of this study were social workers in community welfare centers in the Busan metropolitan city. Data were collected using mail surveys, and data from 526 respondents were used for the final analysis. The main results are as follows. First, the organizational climate of community welfare centers has a statistically significant impact on social workers' resource linkage skills. In other words, the more the social workers recognize positively about the organizational climate, the more the utilization of resource linkage skills increases. Second, reflective thinking has a mediating effect in the relationship between the organizational climate and resource linkage skills of social workers in community welfare centers. Based on the study results, practical suggestions for improved resource linkage skills and reflective thinking of social workers in community welfare centers were suggested, and practical implications and future research were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the necessity of collaboration between local community and college, and to develop a sport socialization model through the collaboration of local community and college. It's basically meant to create a leisure culture easily accessible to local residents and to suggest some of the right directions for the symbiotic development of local communities and colleges. As for data collection, a data research analysis was implemented by consulting relevant literature and reports, and a content analysis was additionally carried out. The findings of the study were as follows: A sport socialization model was presented to represent the mutual relationship between local community and college by preparing sport socialization programs(a youth sport program and a dementia-preventive exercise program) that were respectively of circulatory relationship type and of reciprocal type. Sport intervention through the collaboration of local community and college(a youth sport program and a dementia-preventive exercise program) serves to accelerate socialization into sport, which leads, in turn, to socialization via sport and then is followed by desocialization from sport.

  • As society changes rapidly, the role and status of general education has produced many changes, and accordingly, it is forming a close relationship with various social and cultural environments around the school. Especially, the direction in which general education should proceed and the development of regional-linked general education models have been actively studied at a time when the relationship between local regions and universities is getting strong. In this study, we have provided significant policy implications related to the development and application of future university-local cooperation models by developing a subject of community service activities based learning (CSAL) to get closer to community service and by analyzing actual educational cases and applying them to real community service organizations. • The increased needs for medical cost containment and the quality of life improvement for the low-income elderly with chronic disease require the complementary relationship between hospital care and community health services. This study investigated the current status of the linkage between Korean hospital care and community services using Seoul Welfare Panel Study(SWPS) data. Logistic regression analysis was used to examine the effects of experiences of hospitalization and outpatient health services on use and needs of community health services. The analysis results indicated that the elderly with chronic disease who have not experienced outpatient health services were unlikely to receive health and social services in the community. Even those who have experienced hospitalization were not provided complementary health services in the community despite the increasing demand.
