Instrument Flight Certification Process and Flight Test Results of Korean Utility Helicopter (한국형 기동헬기 계기비행 인증절차 및 비행시험 결과)

  • In this paper, the instrument flight certification process and flight test results of Korean Utility Helicopter (KUH) are presented. For the instrument flight certification, the suitability of installed equipments and instruments have been reviewed and verified by ground and flight tests. Next, static and dynamic stability test are conducted in accordance with FAR-29 Appendix B. The static stability is determined by the change of speed and attitude according to control inputs. The dynamic stability is evaluated by how quickly the response of the helicopter due to long and short period control inputs are decreased. The pilot workload evaluation are also carried out by simulated IMC flight tests. This paper presents the workload assessment results when some failures are occurred at cockpit instruments, engine or flight control systems as well as the normal situation. After the simulated IMC flight test is completed, actual instrument flight test are conducted in a real IMC environment according to the air traffic controls.

Development of Coaxial Propeller Test Facility and Experimental Study on Hover Performance Characteristics for Drone (드론용 동축 프로펠러 시험장치 개발 및 제자리비행 성능특성에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • In this paper, the test facility for coaxial propellers at low Reynolds developed and validated by measured data. The test equipment was designed to measure the hovering performance of propellers according to distances between the upper/lower propellers. Thrust, torque, rotational speed, vibration, and amperage of upper and lower propellers can be measured separately. The data acquisition system was built to collect signals of sensors, and LabVIEW software was used to control the motor and collect the signal. The hover performance tests of single propellers were preceded for the facility validation, and then the performance values of coaxial propellers were measured according to distances and diameter differences between the upper/lower propellers. The results showed that the high efficiency is achieved at 20%~30% distance between the upper propeller and lower one. The configuration that the upper propeller has shorter diameter than the lower one has the highest efficiency than other configuration.

Review on Underwater Positioning for Deep Towing Vehicles (심해 예인 탐사장비의 위치 보정에 대한 고찰)

  • The underwater positioning system is important in interpreting data that are acquired from towing vehicles such as the deep-sea camera (DSC) system. Currently, several acoustic positioning systems such as long baseline (LBL), short baseline (SBL), and ultra short baseline (USBL), are used for underwater positioning. The accurate position of DSC, however, could not be determined in a R/V Onnuri unequipped with any of these underwater positioning systems. As an alternative, the DSC position was estimated based on the topography of towing track and cable length in the cruises before 1999. The great uncertainties, however, were found in the areas of flat bottom topography. In the 2003 and 2004 cruises these uncertainties were reduced by calculating the position of DSC with the cable length and seafloor depth below the vessel. The Japanese cruises for Mn-nodule used a similar estimation method for the DSC positioning system with a CTD sensor. Although the latter can provide better information for the position of DSC, the USBL underwater positioning system is strongly recommended for establishing better positioning of DSC and other towing devices.

The Effect of Solar Burst in Communications System for Lunar Exploration (달 탐사 통신 시스템에서 태양 폭발의 영향)

  • Since the solar activity, one of the factors influencing on lunar communication systems, is to reach its maximum occurring at 11-year solar cycle in autumn 2013, the solar burst frequency and strength are expected to increase. The solar burst has an effect on earth magnetosphere and causes malfunction, loss of communication, and breakdown of various types of satellites and probes. These problems give rise to huge economic and physical loss. Therefore, we should analyze the effect of solar burst on lunar communications and minimize the expected loss. In this paper, we perform the analysis of the link model and link performance between a land station and a lunar orbiter under the solar burst for orbiter's survivability and stable communication channel operations.

Thermal Design of MGSE Panel for Thermal Vacuum Test of Ka-band Engineering Qualification Model Payload of Communications and Broadcasting Satellite (통신방송위성 Ka-대역 기술인증모델 탑재체의 열진공시험을 위한 MGSE 패널 열설계)

  • The thermal design of MGSE(Mechanical Ground Support Equipment) panel is performed for thermal vacum thest of Ka-band EQM(Engineering Qualification Model) payload of communications and broadcasting satellite. The thermal environments are predicted to evaluate the performance of transponder equipments in the thermal vacum chamber. SINDA is used to verify the thermal design of the heat pipe layout. Embedded 16 heat pipes in the EQM payload developed for Ka-band trasponder equipments are designded properly. The heat fluz loaded on the external facesheet is 265W/㎡ for the hot platear function test of the traspinder equipments, and the zero heat flux for the cold plateau case. The maxium predicted heat transport capability is 2723 W-cm.

소형위성 ETB에서의 전력계 기능시험

  • 위성을 발사하기 전까지는 지상에서 EGSE(Electrical Ground Support Equipment)를 이용하여 충분한 시스템 단위의 위성체 기능 시험을 수행한다. KOMPSAT-2(Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite - 2)와 같은 소형 위성의 서브시스템 각각이 요구사항에서 제시하는 규격을 만족하는지 여부를 점검하는 단계에서 전력계 관련 서브시스템의 기능 시험도 EPS(Electrical Power Subsystem) Test Plan에 의해 순차적으로 수행한다. KOMPSAT-2 ETB(Engineering Test Bed)에서의 전력계 시험은 먼저 Test Fuse Modules Check를 수행하였다. 퓨즈 모듈은 PCU(Power Control Unit) 상에 설치되어 있는 장치로써 퓨즈 모듈의 입력과 출력 사이에 도통성 및 다른 출력과의 절연성을 검증한다. 다음으로 EGSE 중 PMTS(Power Monitor Test Set)와 PCU와의 직렬 인터페이스를 점검하는 PCU Interface Check를 수행하였다 시험절차서에 따라 PCU가 가지는 릴레이 스위치에 대하여 명령어를 보내어 릴레이의 동작 상태 및 출력 전압 등을 점검한다. 다음 단계에서는 DC Integration을 수행하여 ETB 하니스 중 전원 관련 라인을 점검하였다 PCU는 모든 위성체 하드웨어에 전력을 공급하는 장비로써 과전력으로부터 하드웨어를 보호하기 위하여 하니스를 연결하기 전에 우선적으로 시험한다. 다음으로는 ECU(EPS Control Unit)가 각각에 해당하는 하드웨어에 명령어를 보내어 전력계 전체적인 동작 상태 검증하는 EPS Hardware Command & Telemetry Checkout을 수행하였다. ECU는 전력계의 모든 하드웨어를 제어하고 그 상태를 모니터링하는 기능을 한다. PCU와의 인터페이스를 통하여 전력의 제어 및 분배에 관련되는 특성을 제어 및 모니터하며 DDC(Deploy Device Controller)는 ECU로부터 명령어를 받아서 arm 및 safe 상태에 대한 텔리 메트리 데이터를 제공한다 그리고, SAR(Solar Array Regulator)는 ECU로부터 Bypass Relay 및 ARM Relay에 관한 명령어를 받아 수행되며 그에 따른 텔리 메트리 데이터를 제공한다. 마지막으로 EPS 소프트웨어를 검증하는 EPS Software Verification을 수행하였다 전력계 소프트웨어의 설계의 검증 부분은 현재 설계 제작된 전력계 .소프트웨어의 동작 특성 이 위성 의 전체 운용개념과 연계하여 전력계 소프트웨어가 전력계 및 위성체의 요구조건을 만족시키는지를 확인하는데 있다. 전력계 운용 소프트웨어는 배터리의 충ㆍ방전을 효율적으로 관리해 3년의 임무 기간동안 위성체에 전력을 공급할 수 있도록 설계되어 있다

A Study on the Current Status and Improvement Methods for Records Management in Local Broadcasting Stations (지역방송국 기록관리 현황과 개선 방안)

  • This study aims to analyze the current status of records management in local broadcasting stations. To that end, it conducted interviews with personnels in charge of keeping records in KBS in J province, MBC in J province, and 2 local commercial broadcasting stations as well as KBS headquarter. The findings show that the local broadcasting stations keep digital files of born-digital broadcast records in a server in a relatively systematic way. However, they never digitalized their analog records and do not even know the exact volume of total records they own. In addition, they have significant difficulties in preserving and utilizing broadcast records because of outdated preservation facilities and information retrieval systems. Based on the findings, this study suggests ways to improve current broadcast record management such as preparation of record management guidelines, construction of an inventory for owned records, digitalization initiative, and provision of metadata education for PDs, etc.

  • This paper presents a realization of a peer-to-peer communication system for a UAV navigational monitoring using a commercial HSDPA(High Speed Download Packet Access) mobile communication device. The realized system consists of a communication server, an air data terminal and multiple ground monitoring devices, where the server transfers navigational data from a UAV to multiple monitoring devices in real-time with commercial HSDPA modem. Through ground and flight tests, data were obtained to observe the realized system. Test results show that, depending on communicational environment, about 300msec delay, congestion and packet-loss between air data terminal and ground monitoring devices. Nevertheless, through high-speed long range test on a ground vehicle and altitude test with a UAV flight, the feasibility of a UAV navigational monitoring system was observed.

  • 현재 우리 군에서는 첨단과학무기를 이용한 전투력을 신속히 집중, 전환시키고 효과적으로 통합 운용해야하는 각급 제대의 지휘관 및 참모의 지휘통제능력 향상을 위하여 첨단 컴퓨터장비를 이용하여 시뮬레이션 기법을 통한 워게임 모델을 개발하여 이를 이용한 훈련을 실시하고 있다. 이 워게임 모델중 지상전투의 가장 기본이 되는 근접전투 시뮬레이션은 미국에서 개발도입된 "COBRA" 시스템을 이용하고 있으나 한국실정에 맞는 시스템으로 확장 및 유지보수가 어렵고, 상위시스템의 서브시스템으로만 운영되고있어 자체 교육훈련 및 전투분석을 위한 단독시스템으로 운영이 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 극복하고, 방대한 양의 지식을 효율적이고 효과적으로 표현할 수 있으며 시스템의 확장 및 유지보수가 용이하고 우리실정에 적합한 전투 훈련을 실시하도록 지원하는 워게임(근접전투) 지원용 멀티미디어 전문가시스템을 개발하였다. 본 논문에서 개발한 전문가시스템은 쌍방이 부대들의 근접전투를 실시할 때 실전에서 나타날 수 있는 가능한 모든 상황의 데이터를 이용하여 전투상황을 분석하며, 기존의 획일적이고 단순한 형태로 결과를 판정하던 것을 전투원의 사기, 체력, 전투한계 등 심리적 요소까지 고려함으로써 새로이 변화되는 전쟁양상에 쉽게 적응할 수 있는 확장성 및 유지보수가 용이하며 시스템 단독으로 운영하여 반복적으로 전투를 분석하고 교육훈련을 실시하도록 함으로써 실전적이고 실질적인 근접전투 워게임지원이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 전문가 시스템을 개발함에 있어서 지식베이스 모듈, 추론엔진 모듈 및 설명 모듈은 전문가 시스템 개발도구인 Smart Elements를 이용하여 구축하였으며, 사용자 인터페이스 모듈은 멀티미디어 저적도구인 툴북 3.0을 이용하였으며, 마지막으로 전체적인 모듈은 API를 이용 통합하여 하나의 응용소프트웨어를 생성하였다.

In the past, automobiles started from internal combustion engines have recently been introduced with hybrid electric vehicles and pure electric vehicles. CISPR 25 is conducting research on the test method for electromagnetic noise.
