The Risk Assessment for Structures by the Response Surface Method Combined with Genetic Algorithm (유전자 알고리즘과 결합된 응답면기법을 이용한 구조물의 위험성 평가)

  • 응답면 기법을 활용하여 댐구조물과 같은 사회간접자본 시설물의 파괴확률을 구할 수 있다. 본 위험성 평가과정에서 응답면기법으로 구성한 한계상태 방정식을 유전자알고리즘의 적합도 방정식으로 사용하면, 핵심타입이나 지반종류, 지반다짐정도 등의 입력설계변수의 최적화 과정 속도를 더욱 신속화 시킬 수 있다. 제안된 응답면 기법과 유전자알고리즘의 복합해석기법은 신뢰성기반 최적화프로그램으로 기존의 유전자알고리즘의 수렴속도를 더욱 빠르게 하여주고, 특히 입력변수의 상하한계가 불확실한 경우에도 만족스러운 수렴성을 보장하여준다. 한계상태 방정식의 목표신뢰도 지수를 변화시켜면 해당하는 입력변수의 최적값을 출력하여주므로, 입력변수의 제약조건에 가격함수와 같은 가중치를 벌칙함수로 부여하면 가격최적화 프로그램으로 작용하게 되며, 시설물 운영자에게는 목표신뢰도에 대한 유지관리 기법과 정도를 의사결정 할 수 있도록 하여주는 기능을 가지게 된다. 조사된 많은 댐구조물의 파괴모드가 시간에 독립적으로 시공중 또는 시공완료 후 5년이내에 다수 발생하는바, 파괴모드를 조사하고 중요한 파괴모드인 파이핑 현상에 대해서 파괴확률을 계산하고 최적유지관리를 위한 개선된 유전자알고리즘 최적화 연산을 수행하였다. 기존 댐구조물과 같이 설계변수와 하중의 변동성을 알기가 어려운 경우에 유지관리비용 최소화를 위해서 본 제안 프로그램의 확장된 버젼은 중요한 기준을 제시하여줄 것으로 기대한다.

  • A method of stochastic response analysis of base-isolated fluid-filled pool structures subject to random ground excitations is studied. Fluid-structure interaction effects between the flexible walls and contained fluid are taken into account in the form of added mass matrix derived by FEM modeling of the contained fluid motion. The stationary ground excitation is represented by Modified Clough-Penzien spectral model and the nonstationary one is obtained by imposing an envelope function on the stationary one. The stationary and nonstationary response statistics of the two different isolation systems are obtained by solving the governing Lyapunov covariance matrix differential equations.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the behavior of superstructure considering several factors such as change of pile rigidity, soil characteristics, and the constraint condition of support. The results of this study are as follows: 1. Pile-rigidity computed by the rotating deformed plane method is continuously varied up to approximately 5D(D=diameter of pile) below the ground level. This result is consistent with the previous study$^{(12)}$, in which the pile deformation occurs at approximately $3{\sim}6$ times of pile diameter from the ground level. 2. For bridge structure-pile system, analytical results of internal forces and deformations show different values for modified pile rigidity and unchanged pile rigidity. 3. Detaild analysis considering modified pile rigidity is required for the long-span bridge design with structure pile system.

An Estimation Technique of Rock Mass Classes for a Tunnel Design (터널 설계를 위한 암반등급 산정 기법에 관한 연구)

  • In site investigation for tunnel designs, nowadays, geophysical exploration such as seismic exploration and electric resistivity exploration as well as drilling logging is frequently carried out. A method which can systematically make the utmost use of all available data obtained from investigation, therefore, is strongly required for the optimal evaluation of ground conditions in terms of rock mass class, etc. Many researchers have proposed using qualitative data to cope with the lack of quantitative data. In this study, an evaluation technique of rock mass classes in undrilled region was proposed based upon multiple indicator kriging method which is a geostatistical technique. It was shown that two types of data with different degree of uncertainty, for example, drilling logging data and geophysical exploration data, could be simultaneously utilized in evaluating rock mass classes for a real tunnel design.

Small Strain Measurements of Sands in Plane Strain Compression (평면 변형률 압축상태에서의 모래의 미소 변형률 측정)

  • It has been demonstrated in plane strain compression tests performed on dense Toyoura sand and Silver Leighton Buzzard sand, that the newly developed instrumentation for small strain measurements was capable of measuring the altering stiffness of sands for a wide range of shear strain from ($10^{-6}$to $10^{-2}$. It was found that for the range of shear strain($\gamma$) from $10^{-5}$ to those at peak, the Rowe's stressiilatancy relation seemed to be a good approximation for Toyoura sand and Silver Leighton Buzzard sand. However, the value of K and Poisson's ratio(at elastic range:${\nu}_{psc}^e$) varied with sand types. It was also found that the value of ${\nu}_{psc}^e$ and stress -dilatancy relation was irrespective of overconsolidation ratio(OCR).

  • In order to investigate the characteristics of the lateral earth pressure at rest under hysteretic Ko -loading l unloading conditions. Seven types of multicyclic models have been studied experimentally using dry sand. For this study a new type of Ko -oedometer appal attn is developed, and horizontal pressure is accurately measured. The multi cyclic models consist of largely 3 cases : (i) Ko-test under the same loading/unloading condition, (ii) multi-cyclic loading /unloading Ko -test exceeding the maximum prevertical stress, and (iii) multi-cyclic loading l unloading Ko -test within the mazimium prevertical stress. As a result, the multi -cyclic model showed that single-cyclic model could be extended as well, in which the exponents for unloading condition(a and a') and the reloading coefficients(m, and m*) were mainily dependent upon type of stress model, number of cycles and relati ve density.

  • Steel Pipelines were located in hillside and mountain areas where landslides occurred during the Northridge earthquake. This paper describes the investigations that were performed to identify and locate the different types of steel pipeline construction in the system using GIS (Geographical Information System). The paper explores the damage correlations of steel pipelines with PGV (peak ground velocity) and investigates the areas subjected to the landslide effects during the Northridge earthquake. One noticeable finding is that the repair rates for steel distribution pipelines after the Northridge earthquake are higher than those of CI (cast iron) pipelines. The relatively high susceptibility of steel piping to damage during the Northridge earthquake may be explained in part by utility practices, such as using steel pipe for the highest internal pressures, and increased susceptibility to corrosion also appears to play a role in steel pipeline performance.

Effects of Semi-Rigid Connection and Foundation Type on Static Behavior of Plastic Greenhouse (부재 교차부와 기초 조건이 비닐하우스의 정적거동에 미치는 영향)

  • 비닐하우스는 매우 세장한 강관부재들을 교차 결합하여 조립한 철골 구조물의 한 종류이다. 현행 설계기준으로 단동 비닐하우스의 최대 구조성능은 풍하중 40m/s, 설하중 50cm에 달한다. 그러나 설계 단계에서는 부재들의 교차결합 특성 및 부재가 직접 지반에 삽입되는 기초의 특성이 적합하게 반영되지 않는 문제점이 있다. 따라서 가력시험을 통하여 반강접 특성을 갖는 부재 교차부 및 지반삽입기초 조건이 구조물의 거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 부재 교차부가 강접 조건일 경우와 비교하여 교차부가 반강접일 경우에는 재하지점의 수평강성이 최대 54% 작게 나타났으나 주변 교차절점들에서의 에너지 흡수로 인하여 재하지점과 수평으로 3m 떨어진 지점에서는 반대로 최대 39% 큰 값을 보였다. 지반삽입기초의 경우에는 고정조건과 비교하여 재하지점의 수평강성이 최대 32% 작게 나타났으며, 지점부에서는 기초 조건의 영향으로 최대 26%의 휨강성 증가 효과를 보였다. 부재 교차부와 기초 조건이 구조물의 정적거동에 미치는 영향을 확인하였으나 최대내력과 강성 산정을 통한 구조성능 평가 방법의 개발이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

An Empirical Study on the Characteristics of Pore Water Pressure Reaction in Colluvium Model (붕적층내의 간극수압 반응에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This work is to study experimentally the measurment of pore air pressure according to rainfall in colluvium model and the characteristics of pore water pressure according to increasement of artesian ground water head. After modeling a geological feature of the Tertiary formation, the experiment was performed about sixty times on three kinds of soil. This experimental results showed the variation of pore water and pore air pressures with time, the change of void ratio and appling pressure head in the nonsaturated soil. It can be also expressed by the final pore water and the air reaction ratios and then formularizing the relationship between the permeability coefficient and the void ratio. In the results of this experiment, the patterns of the pore water pressure reaction are classified by the step-type and the wave-type, and the time-lag to reach final point of pore water pressure is in order sand, sandy silt and clayey sand.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of fiber on engineering properties of Fiber-Reinforced Soil. Engineering properties of soil reinforced with discrete randomly oriented inclusion depend on soil density, particle size, grading, fiber length, tensile strength and stiffness of fiber, mixing ration of fiber, confining stress, etc.. in this paper, the influence of fiber shape, fiber length, fiber diameter, fiber content, cement content and curing duration on engineering characteristics(compaction, shear & permeability) were evaluated for typical soils produced from construction works through uniaxial compression tests and triaxial compression tests. From the experimental results, it was also investigated if there is an optimal range of fiber lengths and fiber contents for the tested soils and tested mono-filament fibers.
