  • Landing gear force reaction module is important for aircraft take off and landing simulation. But usually this modulo is not accounted for control law design simulation. because it does not affect the flying quality of aircraft. Now a days, this module is getting more important according to the increase of needs for training purpose simulation and specific control law design such as unmaned aircraft landing on the moving platform. In this paper 1DOF mass spring simple force system per gear was accepted.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate muscle activity and vertical ground reaction force(F) in children with Down syndrome(DS) during vertical jump. Six DS and one healthy child performed vertical jump. Four muscles(Biceps femoris, Rectus femoris, Tibialis anterior & Gastrocnemius) and F were analyzed. Gastrocnemius in DS showed lower muscle activity in a propulsive phase. Impulse during 0.3sec before toe-off in DS displayed lower value than that in the healthy child. The second peak of F in DS occurred later than that in the healthy child, so DS performed landing with their knee more flexed. The first and second peak of F and loading rate to the second peak of F in DS showed lower value than those in the healthy child. Therefore, DS might have lower ability to absorb the force while landing from a vertical jump.

  • During running, the human body experiences repeated impact force between the foot and the ground. The impact force is highly associated with injury of the lower extremity, comfort and running performance. Therefore, shoemakers have developed shoes with various midsole properties to prevent the injury of lower extremity, improve the comfort and enhance the running performance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of midsole hardness on vertical ground force and heel strike angle during men's and women's running. Five male and five female expert runners consented to participate in the study and ran at a constant speed with three different pairs of shoes with soft, medium and hard midsole respectively. In conclusion, regardless of gender, there was ill significant difference among three shoes in maximum vertical ground reaction force, impact force peak and stance time. However, the loading time decreased and the loading rate increased as the midsole became harder. Female subjects showed more sensitive reaction with respect to the midsole hardness, while male subjects showed subtle difference. The authors expect to apply this results for providing a guideline for utilizing proper midsole hardness of gender-specific shoe.

  • In this study, we investigated how a jumping strategy changes with an increase in the vertical jump height for a resultant ground reaction force (GRF) vector. We expected that the resultant force vector between two sequential motion phases (i.e., countermovement and push-off) of the countermovement jump would significantly change with the vertical jump height to take advantage of the resulting supportive force (i.e., an initial push-off force larger than the body weight) through the countermovement phase. Nine healthy young subjects were instructed to jump straight up to five different height levels ranging from 191 cm to 221 cm, and the kinematic and kinetic data were obtained in regular trials. The results showed that a lower center of mass position and larger resultant force vector were clearly observed in a higher jump, implying that the countermovement strategy changed with the vertical jump height to prepare for sufficient joint deviation and obtain a force advantage for larger push-off work.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare EMG and GRF during a free throw. Seven pairs of surface electrodes were attached to the right-hand side of the body to monitor the flexor carpi radialis (FC), extensor carpi radialis longus (EC), biceps brachii (BB), triceps brachii (TB), rectus femoris (RF), tibialis anterior (TA) and medial gastrocnemius (GM). GRF data from two force platform were collected during a free throw. The results showed that the muscle activities in the unskilled group must be highly activated prior to the moment of release. This means that a skilled participant can shoot a free throw more efficiently while producing less muscle activeness than an unskilled participant. The DCP of unskilled group in the medio-lateral direction were greater than the corresponding values in skilled group. This showed that the unskilled group were not able to shoot the free throws stably. Thus, when a teacher or instructor teaches students how to shoot free throw, it is considered that the teacher show the learner how to use not only the upper limbs but also lower limbs on the basis of the efficent connecting movement and the flexibility in a stable procedure.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect on the vertical ground reaction force, the elapsed time, and the center of pressure factors during gait by maepsi exercise program, which is a whole body exercise, to middle-aged women for 8 weeks. A total of 25 subjects participated in this study, 13 in the exercise group(age, 41±4.4 years; heigh, 162.5±5.8cm; weight, 57.8±6.7kg; body mass, 21.9±2.4kg/m2) and 12 in the control group(age, 41.1±5.6 years; height, 160.9±5.5 cm; weight, 576.2±8.1 kg; body mass, 21.7±2.9 kg/m2). In the exercise group, the maepsi exercise program consisting of 7 areas, 23 types and 77 movements, was conducted 3 times a week for 8 weeks. Two-way repeated measures ANOVA was performed to verify the ground reaction force factors during gait, and the post-test was analyzed with bonferroni adjustment(a=.05). In the exercise group, compared to the control group, the exercise group showed higher values than the control group in the elapsed time to FMWA and FPO, vertical ground reaction force at FMWA and FPO, and RMS factors of COP in the AP direction. Therefore, it was found that the 8-week maepsi exercise program improved the acceleration and deceleration exercise functions of middle-aged women who performed gait.
