  • In Geographic Information System, spatial object can be changed in the attribute information, spatial location and the topological relation between them with the change of time. However traditional GIS deletes the old value of aspatial information and replaces them with new value. Therefore. it is difficult to manage thc history of changed spatial object and can not support the spatio-temporal queries including temporal queries. In this paper, we propose a spatio-temporal objected model to solve this problem. We implement the proposed model with spatio-temporal class using Gothic GIS tool. The historical information of an object is stored into the object itself for the effective history management. And, in order to provide the queries for the history of an object and spatio-temporal relationship, we add temporal operators, spatio-temporal operators, and spatio-temporal query operations into Gothic, and improve the facility of the Gothic.

  • In this study, an automatic information collection system and geographic information construction algorithm for the transportation disadvantaged using electric mobility aids are implemented using an object recognition model. Recognizes objects that the disabled person encounters while moving, and acquires coordinate information. It provides an improved route selection map compared to the existing geographic information for the disabled. Data collection consists of a total of four layers including the HW layer. It collects image information and location information, transmits them to the server, recognizes, and extracts data necessary for geographic information generation through the process of classification. A driving experiment is conducted in an actual barrier-free zone, and during this process, it is confirmed how efficiently the algorithm for collecting actual data and generating geographic information is generated. The geographic information processing performance was confirmed to be 70.92 EA/s in the first round, 70.69 EA/s in the second round, and 70.98 EA/s in the third round, with an average of 70.86 EA/s in three experiments, and it took about 4 seconds to be reflected in the actual geographic information. From the experimental results, it was confirmed that the walking weak using electric mobility aids can drive safely using new geographic information provided faster than now.

  • Approaches to spatial analysis differ from the type of spatial objects to be treated. Especially, in here, the case where two spatial data sets coexist is considered. The goal of such case lies on detecting a subset of spatial objects out of a large set that affects the distribution of the other object. However, it is not easy to extract a subset from a large set by visualization just with the help of GIS since huge amount of data are provided nowadays. In this research, therefore, relationship between two different spatial data are analyzed by quantitative measure in the case study of marketing geography. A purchase history data of a small retail store and the location of its competitors are given as source data for the analysis. The goal of analysis from the aspect of this case study is to extract strong competitors of the store that affects the sales amount of the store among many competitors. With the result, therefore, it is expected that market area pattern and competitive power of stores under micro scale retail environment would be understood by quantitative measure.

PR(Parallel R-tree)[1]도 이러한 연구에 속한다.

  • This paper is about to implement a system for ground water safety evaluation. Since ground water quality is affected from the contamination source of surface water, one can estimate the magnitude of affection and the source themselves. This paper suggests a method to evaluate the spatial relationship of ground water and its contamination sources, using“contain”and“distance”operators in GIS. The research area is the Kunsan City in Chonbuk province, and are 75th wells those are located between the 4th alluvium land types. The results of measured chemical factors and results of related evaluation of these wells are stored and represented in ZEUS 2000 GIS DBMS, and an interface for searching and studying, is implemented by using ZEUS/SQLX, ZEUS/COM, and Visual Basic 6.0 programming languages. After this research, the spatial relationship between hydro-geological geo-objects and ground water is verified and a efficient evaluation system using GIS is suggested. It is the topic of further study that tries to calibrate the suggested evaluation model by applying it to wider area.

  • GML proposed to offer interoperability of geography information is specifying various dynamic object schema for application in the wireless environment. These GML dynamic object schema supports the expression of moving objects that the position and shape change consecutively over time, so practical use of GML is increased in location-based service that provides various application services based on location information of moving objects. In particular, the conventional query languages about GML have been studied with priority given to the integration of geographic information, the support of spatial operations, and etc. However, it lacks the support for moving objects queries. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the moving objects query language that supports moving objects queries for GML documents by extension of XQuery that is standard in query language. Also, data model, algebra operation and various moving objects operators for the proposed query language are designed, and we apply the proposed query language to tornado government organization system to show that the proposed query language can be used effectively in various location-based service.

  • In the paper, we describe the query extension techniques for spatiotemporal query functionalities on object-relational DBMS. The spatial objects in real world change the shapes over time. Spatiotemporal databases support to manage a temporal dimension as well as a spatial dimension for history of the objects. The proposed techniques can make conventional object-relational databases to support spatiotemporal databases system by the implementation and inheritance of abstract data types. We define and implement spatial and temporal classes as superclass. And, spatiotemporal classes inherits and extends the classes. The proposed extensions make it easy that conventional database systems not only are transformed into the spatiotemporal database systems, but also do not need to be changed to support spatiotemporal applications.

  • While most GIS are based on Euclidean space, cellular space can be used as an alternative type of space for a large number of GIS applications. In order to analyze the pattern of moving objects in cellular space, we need new definitions of similarity between their trajectories since the trajectory in cellular space significantly differs from those in Euclidean space. In this paper, we study the properties of moving objects in cellular space. Based on these observations, we propose several similarity measures between trajectories in cellular space. We analyze the difference of the proposed measures by experiments.
