This study investigated the self-archiving venues that university faculty members have used, the types of content that they have made publicly accessible on the web, and their rationales for such decisions. The present study was based on the analysis of 480 survey responses and 41 telephone interviews from professors at 17 Carnegie Doctorate-granting universities in the U.S. It was found that faculty members tended to self-archive referred articles on their personal websites or research group websites. This indicated that the faculties perceived peer-review process to be important in self-archiving practices as a quality-control mechanism. The rate of self-archiving in institutional repositories was low, although several interviewees envisioned the potential of the repositories regarding the ability to preserve various types of research works in digital form.

This study is to investigate an effective instruction for female students in an engineering classroom through gender -sensitive teaching strategies by analysing recorded classroom instruction, reflective journals of professor, and mentoring instructions of A professor teaching "non-steel materials and design" in an engineering classroom. This study which used a qualitative approach for data collection and analysis showed changes of A professor in his way of teaching. The changes are: making rough lesson plan ${\rightarrow}$ making detailed lesson plan being satisfied with his teaching skills ${\rightarrow}$ trying to improve his teaching skills, using negative feedback ${\rightarrow}$ using positive feedback, pointing weaknesses as pre-engineers ${\rightarrow}$ providing detailed information needed to be engineers. This paper deals with the theory comparison between a conventional engineering education and new engineering education, in which conventional models may fail to give satisfactory results. Finally, we provide real application examples to evaluate the feasibility and generality of the proposed method in this paper.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the evaluation scores among various evaluators such as tutor, peer, and self evaluation, the lenience and central tendency among these various evaluators, and the correlation between evaluation scores among the various evaluators and the paper test score in the Problem-Based Learning (PBL). For the research, tutor, peer, and self evaluations were carried out with PBL effectiveness evaluation tool for the 105 nursing students taking classes using PBL, and paper test was conducted after the PBL class ended. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS WIN (V. 12.0). The study results showed that peer and self evaluation scores were higher than tutor evaluation score. Also lenience and central tendency were higher and stronger in peer and self evaluation than in tutor evaluation. Paper test score had a significant correlation with tutor evaluation score, but not with peer or self evaluation scores.

This study introduced a peer tutoring in computer education for the purpose of overcoming the individual differences. Two research problems were investigated. The first is to confirm the effect of the peer tutoring on academic achievement, and the second is to compare the effects of the peer tutoring under the two different pair composition: friendship-based vs ability-based. All of the students of three classrooms in a middle school were included in this experimental research. The results showed no significant difference between the peer tutoring and the teacher instruction. However, the peer tutored group showed higher achievements than the other group, so we could confirm the positive effect of the peer tutoring. At the beginning, the friendship-based pair group showed a significantly higher achievement than the ability-based pair group, but as times go on the friendship effect was gradually diminished.

In this paper I present the teaching strategies and methods of programming education based on the learning style which teachers can apply it to their class on condition that learning style can classify their students' preferences about learning strategies and methods. Recent related researches that prove the differences about student's specific abilities based on their learning styles could never help teachers design and do their teaching of programming in the class. Therefore this study about teaching strategies and methods of programming education will be necessarily. I propose the teaching strategies and methods of programming education based on the learning styles as a results of questionnaire to some professors of computer science education in university. Then, I design and do programming education in the experimental class in order to verify the availability of the proposed teaching strategies and methods. After teaching in class, I evaluate the statistical results of students' achievement test of programming. This study has some restrictions about small number of class and periods of teaching programming, but it will be a good case study about teaching strategies and methods of programming education based on the learning style.

Though web-based learning is known to be effective for computer aided practical class, it lacks in cooperative human feedback and self-adjustment. This paper presented the effects of blended learning that was based on web-based learning for learning by level and blended with peer tutoring for reducing the differentials of scholastic achievements between the students. For experimental purpose, high school students were divided into two groups and web-based EXCEL tutoring tool was developed and applied to both groups in advance. After this learning, we applied the web-based learning for comparative group as before and peer tutoring for experimental group respectively, Performance result evaluated by SPSS showed that the Blended Learning has affirmative effect in scholastic achievements. Especially, students under the medium level of experimental group could narrow the gap to the high level students in its group and this eventually improved the overall achievements of experimental group with blended learning.

The value of Web in information societyis increasing in the field of education. Web Based Instruction (WBI) has an unlimited possibility of access the information. It also overcome the constraint of time and space more than the previous class learning method. The previous WBI system informed the results of study to learners after a professor's lecture and test was given. The uniform test didn't make the professor recognize the learner's evaluation according to the level of the learner and it couldn't be a reason to change a teaching method. In this paper, we discuss the Learning Evaluation(LE) component which can support a teaching method to teachers. We suggest LE component for supporting teachers as suggesting visually the test result of pre-test by step and post-test with several ways after analyzing, designing and realizing the evaluation of the test based on CDP(Component Development Process).

The purpose of this study was to investigate the causal relationship among job stress, teaching efficacy belief, and organizational commitment for early childhood teachers. Besides, the current study examined the mediating effect of teaching efficacy belief on the relationship between job stress and organizational commitment. The data were gathered through the questionnaires from 500 kindergarten and nursery teachers who are located in D metropolitan city. Among them, the total of 426 subjects were used for analysis from recovered 442. The results indicated that job stress was negatively correlated with teaching efficacy belief and organizational commitment for early childhood teachers. Teaching efficacy belief significantly had a positive relation with organizational commitment. Moreover, teaching efficacy belief turned out to have a partial mediating effect on the relationship between job stress and organizational commitment. This study has its significance in that it looked at the job stress as a predictor variable to explain the organizational commitment, the positive viewpoint by turning away from the early childhood teachers' burnout, and provided the potential for the environmental intervention by confirming the mediating effect of teaching efficacy belief.

The purpose of this study was to design and implement the smart system for supporting instructional materials employing characteristics of smart education and flipped learning and to examine the effects of the system on students' achievement and satisfaction in elementary education. The system was developed on the basis of the curriculum with the design strategies of the smart system. The results of the analyses showed that the achievement of the students was increased over the series of the tests. It was also found that the system positively influenced students' self-directed learning time and their satisfaction in social studies education. The implications of the results of the study and suggestions for the future study were discussed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate 188 university students at Seoul National University and to present self - image data to university students for the development of small and medium human resources. The results of the study are as follows. First, there was a positive correlation between the correlation between the image of the trainee perceived by university students and the self - image, the correlation between the image of the trainee perceived by the university students and the voice image, and the correlation between the voice image and the self - image perceived by university students. Second, as a result of examining whether or not the voice image is mediated in the relationship between the image of the talent and the self - image perceived by university students, Therefore, it is confirmed that as the image level of the talent related to the human resource of SMEs increases, the level of the voice image increases and the self image level also improves accordingly.
