Efficient Robot Cleaning Algorithm based on Set Cover Algorithm (셋 커버 알고리즘을 이용한 효율적인 로봇 청소 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a new robot cleaning algorithm, which we call SetClean. The new algorithm cleans from the most less complex area. Sometimes, when the cleaning completion time can be longer or can not be estimated, cleaning larger area first is better than optimizing the whole time for cleaning. To do this, SetClean algorithm divides the whole area into cleanable sub-areas using Set Cover algorithm and cleans the area in the order of high efficiency that maximize the cleanable area per unit time. SetClean algorithm decides the navigation flow by considering not only the size of the area but also the distance from the current robot location to the area to be cleaned and the delay time caused by the number of turns within the area. The experimental results show the mechanism and performance of the SetClean algorithm.

  • 시 공간상의 제약 없이 다양한 정보의 제공이 가능한 현재의 웹 환경을 통해서 우리나라는 다양한 정보와 자료를 활용하여 학습자 중심의 탐구활동 및 자기 주도적 학습을 강구하고 있다. 따라서, 전국 초중등 학생들을 대상으로 시도별 특화된 맞춤 서비스, 즉 LMS(학습관리시스템)을 구축 운영하고 있지만 현재 시스템에서는 다양하고 방대한 학습 콘텐츠에서 학습자가 자신에게 맞는 과정을 검색, 신청하는데 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 어려움을 해결하기 위해서 학습자가 개인의 학습내용을 빠르고 편리하게 등록하고 검색할 수 있게 하고, 시스템의 지능적인 의미검색이 가능하게 하기 위해서 시맨틱 웹과 AJAX기술을 이용한 개인 맞춤형 학습관리 시스템 설계 및 구현을 하였다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study a scheme to ITS service which enables the data (spatial, non-spatial and image) sharing among heterogeneous system (various environment) with employing the concept of object orientedness and to show Location Reference Technique of ITS Space DB for interoperability. Data warehouse service, query object service, interface object service, and naming object service have been identified for this. In addition, a metadata management object service and persistent object service based system framework has been devised. The proposed skeletal framework would be expected to be functioning well for ITS data sharing environment and for the interoperability support.

  • In this paper, we describe an algorithm which can automatically recognize human gesture for Human-Robot interaction. In early works, many systems for recognizing human gestures work under many restricted conditions. To eliminate these restrictions, we have proposed the method that can represent 3D and 2D gesture information simultaneously, APM. This method is less sensitive to noise or appearance characteristic. First, the feature vectors are extracted using APM. The next step is constructing a gesture space by analyzing the statistical information of training images with PCA. And then, input images are compared to the model and individually symbolized to one portion of the model space. In the last step, the symbolized images are recognized with HMM as one of model gestures. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm is efficient on gesture recognition, and it is very convenient to apply to humanoid robot or intelligent interface systems.

  • iOS, Android 등의 모바일 운영체제를 탑재한 스마트폰 기술의 급속한 발전으로 인해 다양한 모바일 어플리케이션들이 개발 되고 있다. 그 중에서 모바일을 통해 물품을 관리 하기 위한 기반 기술로 안드로이드의 NFC 기술을 이용하거나 블루투스 바코드 스캐너와 스마트폰의 연계 기술을 이용하고 있는 것이 현재의 추세이다. NFC 기술 또는 단순 블루투스 바코드 스캐너와의 연계만으로는 공간 내 대량의 물품을 지능적으로 관리 하기에는 한계가 있는 것이 사실이다. 본 논문에서는 Beacon 기술을 이용하여 기존의 NFC 기술 및 바코드 스캐너만으로 구현이 불가능했던 문제들을 해결할 방안을 제안한다.

  • 기존의 자율형 휴머노이드 로봇 축구승부차기에서는 거리센서와 시각센서를 모두 이용한다. 본 논문에서는 시각센서만을 사용하는 사람과 유사한 승부차기 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위하여 시각센서가 유연하게 움직일 수 있는 적합한 로봇의 조립 형태와 지능적 3차원 공간분석을 채용한다. 지식표현과 추론은 자체 개발한 지식처리 시스템인 NEO를 사용하였고, 그 NEO 시스템에 지능적 처리를 위한 영상처리 라이브러리인 OpenCV를 탑재한 시스템 VisionNEO를 사용하였다.

  • This paper presents an immersive multimodal Gumdo simulation game that allows a user to experience the whole body interaction with an intelligent cyber fencer. The proposed system consists of three modules: (i) a nondistracting multimodal interface with 3D vision and speech (ii) an intelligent cyber fencer and (iii) an immersive feedback by a big screen and sound. First, the multimodal Interface with 3D vision and speech allows a user to move around and to shout without distracting the user. Second, an intelligent cyber fencer provides the user with intelligent interactions by perception and reaction modules that are created by the analysis of real Gumdo game. Finally, an immersive audio-visual feedback by a big screen and sound effects helps a user experience an immersive interaction. The proposed system thus provides the user with an immersive Gumdo experience with the whole body movement. The suggested system can be applied to various applications such as education, exercise, art performance, etc.

  • Natural interface is important to select and provide the services in ubiquitous smart space such as u-plant, u-distribution. Augmented Reality(AR) has recently begun to receive attention as a realization tool for natural interface. AR provides virtual object on real environment and it differs from virtual reality. When AR is used, it has advantage to provide information intuitively and collaboratively. However AR is rarely used in e-commerce domain of ubiquitous smart space, and it has limitation which predefined information and services provide in a static manner. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology of AR based e-commerce which provides personalized association service by considering user's dynamic context. To do so, association algorithm is developed based on Rescorla-Wagner model and Galton's free association test.

  • To realize advanced collaboration environments for knowledge workers distributed geographically, there are extensive researches in ubiquitous computing environments. Especially, to cope with several known problems in traditional collaboration tools such as limited display resolution, uncomfortable shared documentation, difficult operation of collaboration environments, various approaches are attempted in the aspect of framework design. In this paper, we design a framework for collaboration environments covering hardware/software/networking architecture to flexibly coordinate a set of collaboration services and devices considering users' expectation and node capabilities. Based on the proposed framework, we develop the collaboration environment supporting the interactive networked tiled display enabling media/data sharing via networking, display interaction using pointing/tracking, and high-resolution tiled display. Finally the demonstration of the developed prototype is introduced to prove the possibility of its realization.

  • ITS includes an Advanced Traveler Information System(ATIS) that provides travelers with service and facility data for the purpose of assisting prior to embarking on a trip or after the traveler is underway. ATIS consists of three major subsystems, which are a Pre-trip Traffic Information subsystem(PTIS), an En-route Traffic Information Subsystem(ETIS), and a Dynamic Route Guide Subsystem(DGIS). ATIS needs to be designed and implemented in accordance with the National ITS Architecture, a reference framework that spans all of standards activities. Recently, as software technology is rapidly improved and stabilized, there are some needs to reuse pre-developed and powerful ITS technology. ITS standardization based on components and open interfaces becomes a way to solve these reusability of current ITS technology. This paper focuses on how could we design and implement ATIS based on the component with the aid of UML(Unified Modeling Language). The UML methodology is expected to provide a standardized model for newly developed ITS components.
