Water Requirement of Twist Peppers in Greenhouse (온실 재배 꽈리고추의 필요수량)

  • This study was carried out to investigated the water requirement of twisted sweet peppers which are cultivated in a green house. The meteorological conditions during the experiment period was close to that of normal year except the temperature and relative humidity. The growth status was improved with the increased saturation ratio. The range of the variation of daily water requirement were very large. The peak consumption occurred in the early August. And the higher saturation ratio resulted in higher water requirement. The total water requirement were about 57.180g/d/plant for pot with 100% (P100) of saturation , about 38.700g/d/plant for pot with 80%(P80) of saturation , about 23,720g/d/plant for pot with 60%(P60) of saturation, and about 53, 390g/d/plant for field cultivation in the green house, respectively. The water requirement was correlated with average ambient temperature and growing status, while no significant correlation were found between water requirement and minimum relative humidity or intensity of solar radiation. And the higher correlation was shown as the saturation ratio was increased. The transpiration coefficients of twisted sweet pepper were 378.0g/g for field cultivation in the green house, 363.3g/g for P100, 338.7g for P80 which was the smallest among pot cultivation , and 472.1g/g for P60 , respectively.

Weight Loss Prediction by Operating Conditions of CA Storage (CA저장고의 작동 환경에 따른 감모율 예측)

  • Weight loss that influences quality and farmer incomes is affected by the storage environment of agricultural products. The interior of storage should be maintained at high humidity to prevent the weight loss of products which contain a lot of moisture. The research had constantly proceeded with change in the heat exchanger surface areas, humidity systems, and weight loss forecast to maintain high humidity within storage. Relative humidity that exerts an effect weight loss of crop is influenced by storage temperature, leak state, and volume of product. When weight loss is predicted, different conditions of these factors are derived. In case of CA storage, ways of forecasting the weight loss become easier compared to cold storage due to sealed storage with external environment during storage period. In this study, apples were stored in purge-type CA storage and weight loss has been predicted by using operating characteristics and environmental conditions. As a result, humidity variation in the storage fluctuates with the operation of the unit-cooler. Furthermore, unit-cooler operation factor is influenced by outside temperature and respiration heat. Prediction value of weight loss according to temperature and humidity has been most accurately predicted. Prediction value through defrosting water measured shows unit-cooler work quality. K-value needs verification to calculate the VPD method.

Analysis on Estimating Evapotranspiration of Paddy Rice (벼의 증발산량(蒸發散量) 산정(算定)에 관(關)한 실험(實驗) 분석(分析))

  • This work Was carried out to obtain the most suitable crop coefficient for the paddy rice growing in Taegu area. The result was due to the comparative measurements of evapotranspiration formula in terms of Blaney & Criddle and eight other formulas with those produced by experiment particularly in this area. The crop coefficient, evapotranspiration and transpiration ratio produced by this research are hopefully expected to be of service in the future calculation of evapotranspiration without repeating experiment respectively, whenever the water requirement of paddy rice is planned in Taegu and its vicinity. The accomplished results could be summarized as follows : The maximum amount of evapotranspiration was recorded in the early and middle parts of August. The average reading of evapotranspiration was 6.33mm/day throughout the growth. The evapotranspiration had a highly significant correlation with pan evaporation, solar radiation, sunshine hours and relative humidity of meteorological elements. K and Kc by the use of Blaney & Criddle formula calculated at 0.76 to 1.45 and 0.82 to 1.27, respectively. Its peak value appeared commonly in early August. The ratio of transpiration was 269.03.

  • 유역의 증발산량 자료는 물순환 과정을 규명하는 매우 중요한 자료 중의 하나이며, 물순환 성분별 명확한 산정 결과는 수자원 개발과 물환경 보전에 중요한 정보를 제공할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 임진강 유역(유역출구(한강합류점) 기준, 유역면적 8,138.9km2)을 대상으로 5개년(2018~2022) 기상관측자료를 이용하여 증발산량을 산정하였으며, 그 외의 수문관측자료를 통해 물수지 분석도 수행하였다. 증발산량 산정은 세계식량기구(FAO)에서 제시한 Penman-Monteith equation을 적용하여 일별증발산량을 산정하였으며, 작물의 종류에 따른 계수는 잔디의 경우를 채택하였다. 본 방정식을 통해 산정된 증발산량(ETo)은 기준작물에 수분의 공급에 제한이 없는 상황에서 산정된 기준 증발산량(reference evapotranspiration)을 의미하며, 기준 증발산량을 실제 증발산량으로 변환하기 위해서는 작물계수를 고려해야 한다. 작물계수는 식생의 높이, 알베도, 식생의 저항, 토양으로부터의 증발 등의 영향을 받게 되나, 더욱더 명확하게는 식물에서의 증산을 설명하는 기본 작물계수와 토양에서의 증발을 설명하는 토양계수의 합을 통해 계수를 산정하게 된다. 임진강 유역에 공간적으로 분포된 작물계수를 정확히 산정하기에는 한계가 있으므로 잔디의 경우로 한정하여 산정된 기준 증발량은 833.0mm(5개년 평균값)이다. 각 물순환 성분별로 생성된 임진강 유역의 5개년 평균값인 유역평균강우량은 1,412.9mm이며, 하천유출량은 804.9mm(유역평균강우량 대비 57.0%), 실제 증발산량은 442.3mm(유역평균강우량 대비 31.3%, 기준 증발산량 대비 약 53.0%), 유역저류량은 165.7mm(유역평균강우량 대비 11.7%)이다. 유역평균강우량은 8개 관측소(양덕, 원산, 신계, 개성, 평강, 철원, 동두천, 파주) 강우량의 유역평균값이며, 하천유출량은 유역출구의 상류 관측소인 비룡대교 관측소(유역면적 6,784.0km2) 유출량의 유역면적비 적용값이다. 실제 증발산량은 기준 증발산량 산정값에 해당 유역내 존재하는 설마천 유역의 기준 증발산량과 실제 증발산량 비율(약 53.0%)을 적용한 값이며, 유역저류량은 전제적인 물수지 분석을 통해 얻어진 추정값이다. 이와 같이 산정된 물순환 성분별 자료는 유역의 물순환 과정 규명을 위한 기초자료로 매우 유용하게 활용될 수 있으며, 유역 물관리를 위한 의사결정 과정에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 유역의 증발산량 자료는 물순환 과정을 규명하는 매우 중요한 자료 중의 하나이며, 물순환 성분별 명확한 산정 결과는 수자원 개발과 물환경 보전에 중요한 정보를 제공할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 한국건설기술연구원에서 운영하는 설마천 유역(전적비교 수위관측소 기준, 유역면적 8.48km2)의 5개년(2018~2022) 기상관측자료를 이용하여 증발산량을 산정하였으며, 그 외 강우량, 하천유출량, 지하수함양량 자료를 이용하여 물수지 분석도 수행하였다. 증발산량 산정은 세계식량기구(FAO)에서 제시한 Penman-Monteith equation을 적용하여 일별 증발산량을 산정하였으며, 작물의 종류에 따른 계수는 잔디의 경우를 채택하였다. 본 방법을 통해 산정된 증발산량(ET0)은 기준작물에 수분의 공급에 제한이 없는 상황에서 산정된 기준 증발산량(reference evapotranspiration)을 의미하며, 기준 증발산량을 실제 증발산량으로 변환하기 위해서는 작물계수를 고려해야 한다. 작물계수는 식생의 높이, 알베도, 식생의 저항, 토양으로부터의 증발 등의 영향을 받게 되나, 더욱더 명확하게는 식물에서의 증산을 설명하는 기본 작물계수와 토양에서의 증발을 설명하는 토양계수의 합을 통해 계수를 산정하게 된다. 설마천 유역에 공간적으로 분포된 작물계수를 정확히 산정하기에는 한계가 있으므로 잔디의 경우로 한정하여 산정된 기준증발량은 885.9mm(5개년 평균값)이다. 각 물순환 성분별로 생성된 설마천 유역의 5개년 평균값인 유역평균강우량은 1,307.3mm이며, 하천유출량은 799.7mm(유역평균강우량 대비 61.2%), 실제 증발산량은 469.5mm(유역평균강우량 대비 35.9%, 기준 증발산량 대비 약 53.0%), 유역저류량은 38.1mm(유역평균강우량 대비 2.9%)이다. 유역평균강우량은 3개 관측소(감악산, 설마리, 전적비교) 강우량의 유역평균값이며, 하천유출량은 유역출구의 수위-유량관계곡선식 환산유량, 유역저류량은 과거년(2012~2018)의 지하수 관측자료를 통해 산정된 지하수함양량을 기초로 하였다. 그리고 실제 증발산량은 기준 증발산량 산정값과 전체적인 물수지 분석을 통해 얻어진 값이다. 이와 같이 산정된 물순환 성분별 자료는 유역의 물순환 과정 규명을 위한 기초자료로 매우 유용하게 활용될 수 있으며, 유역 물관리를 위한 의사결정 과정에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Effect of water potential of culture solution on water uptake, transpiration and photosynthesis of Panax ginseng (배양액(培養液)의 수분장력(水分張力)이 인삼(人蔘)의 수분흡수(水分吸收) 증산(蒸散) 및 광합성(光合成)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • Effect of water potential of culture solution on photosynthesis, transpiration and water uptake was investigated using polyethylene glycol 6000. 1. Even at -0.5 bar of culture solution phothosynthesis was decreased by 20% within 1 hour. Plant in control showed 3.26% loss of initial water for 13 hours suggesting very sensitive in water uptake. 2. Relation between water potential of culture solution (${\psi}$) and water uptake amount (W) 2-year root was ${\psi}=-2.890/e^{2.796W}$ indicating that permanent wilting point will be greater than -2.89 bar. 3. Transpiration considerably decreased with the decrease of water potential and thus by 23.9% at -0.5 bar after 4 hours. 4. From the above results ginseng plant appears to have high root water potential at permanent wilting point and thus very week to water stress due to drought or high salt content in soils.

Studies on the drought resistance of mulberry trees (상수의 내건성에 관한 연구)

  • In order to develop the standards for the measurement of drought resistance in mulberry trees (Morus genus) the varietal differences of drought resistance were measured for 30 mulberry varieties, and the relationships between the drought resistance and the histological and physiological characteristics of mulberry leaves were investigated. The results were summarized as follows; 1. It is reasonable to use the drought resistance ratio, expressed by D/D'*100, for the standard of drought resistance measurement for mulberry tree as a perennial tree crop. Where: D stands for growth amount(shoot length) in the plot of dry treatment, at the end of treatment. D' stands for an expected value of D which is expressed by B*C/A. Here, A is the growth amount of wet treatment plot at the beginning of treatment, B is the growth amount of dry treatment plot at the beginning of treatment, and C is the growth amount of wet treatment plot at the end of treatment. 2. The results obtained from the application of above formula showed that the varieties Cadaneo, Tahozosaeng, Yongchunchuwu, Kaeryang suban. and Kabsun were highly resistant to drought and the varieties Jukmok, Shipyung, Sobun, Kaeryangzosaeng shipmoonza and Chungagokyo were highly susceptible. 3. Among leaf tissues. the rate of inter-cellular space showed the highest relationship with drought resistance. The correlation coefficient calculated (r=0.4153) was highly significant. Other leaf tissues such as epidermis and palisade showed no significant correlations with drought resistance. 4. The size and density of stomata were correlated to drought resistance. That is: Correlation between drought resistance and size of stomata(length ${\times}$ width)......r= -0. 3253(signif. at 5%) density(No. of stomata/l$\textrm{mm}^2$......r= +0.5047(signif. at 1%)

Physiological studies on the sudden wilting of JAPONICA/INDICA crossed rice varieties in Korea -II.   • The results of the investigation on the effects of plant nutrio-physiological status and reemergence of sudden wilting in rice on the occurrence of sudden wilting were summarized as follows: 1. The occurrence of sudden wilting, degree of damage and occurring time in the investigated variety showed to concur with the results of the previous experiment. 2. Nitrogen and Potassium contents in leaves related an occurrence of sudden wilting at heading stage have a very high negative co-relation (the value is -0.9224 at Yushin and -0.8243 at Milyang 23). 3. Regarding the relation between occurrence of sudden wilting and root activity capacity at the late growth stage, the root activity capacity at productive growth stage showed higher than at reproductive growth stage, which is the same in the two varieties but Milyang 23 is higher than Yushin. It is confirmed that root activity capacity in the two varieties has become very low at reproductive growth stage. 4. The toot activity capacity in the field with potassium showed a small occurrence of sudden wilting and the root activity capacity in the field with no potassium showed a very high co-relation value (the value is 0.8947 at Yushin and 0.7301 at Milyang 23). 5. Regarding the relation between the occurrence of sudden wilting and water evaporation quantity, water evaporation quantity after the heading date has a more direct relation to sudden wilting than that which occurrs prior to the heading date. Water evaporation quantity is higher in the field with no potassium, low leaves and Yushin, than in the field with potassium high leaves and Milyang 23. 6. The starch content in culm of Yushin and Milyang 23 at ripening stage showed high value in proportion to potassium quantity, and the starch content is lower as internode is lower. However, in fourth internode, the starch content is greatly increased in the field with potassium contrasted to the field with no potassium.

Prediction of Soil Moisture using Hydrometeorological Data in Selmacheon (수문기상자료를 이용한 설마천의 토양수분 예측)

  • Soil moisture has been recognized as the essential parameter when understanding the complicated relationship between land surface and atmosphere in water and energy recycling system. It has been generally known that it is related with the temperature, wind, evaporation dependent on soil properties, transpiration due to vegetations and other constituents. There is, however, little research concerned about the relationship between soil moisture and these constitutes, thus it is needed to investigate it in detail. We estimated the soil moisture and then compared with field data using the hydrometerological data such as atmospheric temperature, specific humidity, and wind obtained from the Flux tower in Selmacheon, Korea. In the winter season, subterranean temperature showed highly positive correlation with soil moisture while it was negatively correlated from the spring to the fall. Estimation of seasonal soil moisture was compared with field measurements with the correlation of determination, R=0.82, 0.81, 0.82, and 0.96 for spring, summer, fall, and winter, respectively. Comprehensive relationship from this study can supply useful information about the downscaling of soil moisture with relatively large spatial resolutions, and will help to deepen the understanding of the water and energy recycling on the earth's surface.

Comparison of Atmospheric Environmental Factors between Farms with Difference in Paprika Productivity (파프리카 생산성 차이 농가 간 지상부 환경요인 비교)

  • Paprika productivity is different even in the same quality greenhouse and in the same region. These differences are known to due to differences in various environmental factors. This study was conducted to investigate the difference in the level of various environmental factors between high-productivity (HPF) and low-productivity (LPF) greenhouses. The largest difference between the two greenhouses in the daily or weekly average values of major environmental factors was the CO2 concentration, but the LPF was higher than the HPF, so it was not determined as a factor for the difference in productivity. Correlation analysis among 14 environmental factors showed a high correlation among irradiation or related factors in moisture. The regression coefficients of the linear regression model between vapor pressure deficit and relative humidity were -0.0202kpa in HPF and -0.0262kpa in LPF. In particular, in February and March, the vapor pressure deficit in LPF was 1.5kpa or more, and the cumulative vapor pressure deficit compared to the cumulative irradiation at the early period of cultivation increased rapidly. The reason for the low productivity in LPF is thought to be that the plant was affected by moisture stress due to high vapor pressure deficit and transpiration under low irradiation conditions in the early period of cultivation and in winter.
