Statistical Analysis of Private Education Expenses in Korea (초·중·고생의 사교육비 지출에 대한 통계 분석)

  • Due to the great impact of private education expenses on many areas including economics and politics, reducing private education expenses is one of the key issues in Korea. In this paper, we analyze the data from a survey on private education expenses, conducted by Statistics, Korea, in 2008. We study the effect of some demographic variables on two dependent variables, the expenses for out-of-school private education (Private) and the expenses for after-school programs (Afterschool), by using a multiple linear regression model. The analysis results show that 'residential area' and 'school level' variables have a significant effect on the two dependent variables. 'Private' increases in the order of small town, middle town, or metropolitan city, and Seoul, by about 7%. On the other hand, 'Afterschool' are about the same for all areas except for the small town. In terms of the effect of 'school level', 'Private' for high school students is about 17% larger than all other students including professional high school students. This shows a strong correlation between university admission and private education, in Korea. 'Afterschool' is larger for high school and elementary school students and decreases in the order of professional school students and middle school students. It seems that after-school programs are alternatives to expensive private education programs for elementary school students, and that high school students are attracted to after-school programs to get a good GPA, which is important for university admissions.

Use of Fashion Information Sources and Clothing Involvement of Middle and High School Girls (의복관여와 정보원 활용에 관한 연구 -여자 중.고교생을 중심으로-)

  • The degree of involvement was known to shape the types of decision- process behavior of consumers. The types of information search would be influenced according to the degree of involvement. The purpose of this study was to find out the fashion information sources used in clothing purchase, and to clarify the interrelationship of clothing involvement and information sources. The middle and high school girls in Seoul were the subjects of the study. The information sources were classified into three types; marketer-oriented, internal and personal sources. Fashion informations spreaded by mass media were the most diversely used by teens. Among fashion information sources, ‘my own thoughts and experiences’ was counted as the most important one. And ‘interior and display of the shop’ was more important than the other marketer-oriented informations. Clothing involvement in the aspect of pleasure/symbol showed meaningful correlation with the information of ‘street fashion’, but in the aspect of fashion consciousness, ‘fashion of movie stars and celebrities’was the most significant information source. It seemed that ‘fashion articles in the magazines’ was used to reduce perceived risk in clothing purchase.

초음파 Fractography에 의한 파괴속도의 정밀측정을 위한 최적주파수 선정에 관한 연구

  • 유리와 같이 취성이 큰 재료의 파단면을 주의하여보면 반원형의 곡선이 이따금씩 여러개 나타나 있는 것을 볼 수 있다. 이것은 진행 중에 있는 균열이 어떠한 부분으로부터 나온 음파(횡파)와 만났을 때 일어나는 흔적으로 Wallner선 이라고 한다. 초음파 Fractography는 파괴 시험시 강력한 초음파를 사용하여 파단면에 이와 같은 Wallner 선을 인공적으로 발생시켜, 파면해석을 통하여 파괴속도등 파괴연구에 필요한 정보를 얻는 수법이다. 이 수법은 유리와 같은 비정질 탄성태의 파괴속도 측정을 위해 Kerkhof에 의해 최초로 고안되었으며, 수지와 같은 점탄성재료에 대해서는 Takahashi에 의하여 PMMA(Polymethy1 Methacrylate)재에 강력한 초음파를 사용하여 그 가능성이 제기된 이후 PMMA와 EPOXY재등의 점탄성재료의 파괴속도측정과 파괴강성등의 측정에 본격적으로 연구되기 시작하였다.

  • 한국항공우주연구원 채연석(54) 원장은 어릴 때부터 로켓 만들기에 푹 빠져 있었다. 고교 시절 자작 소형 로켓이 귓가에서 터지는 바람에 고막을 다치기도 했다. 그 시절은 닐 암스트롱이 달에 인류의 족적을 처음으로 남기고, 미국과 옛 소련의 우주개발 경쟁으로 우주선 발사 장면이 연일 방송과 신문지상을 장식하던 때였다. 그것을 보는 소년 채연석의 꿈은 직접 만든 로켓을 우주로 쏘아 올리는 것이었다. 그로부터 30여 년이 지난 지금 채 원장은 한국의 우주기술 개발의 총 사령탑이 되어 있다. 그 자리에서 그는 우주를 향한 꿈을 바느질의 한땀 한땀처럼 엮어가고 있는 중이다. 한국항공우주연구원 원장실에서 만난 채연석 원장의 표정에서는 우주항공 기술의 기반을 쌓느라 영일없는 나날을 보내는 것을 금방 느낄 수 있었다. 채 원장은 2002년말 우주 개발용 로켓의 주류를 이루고 있는 액체연료를 사용하는 로켓을 개발해 발사에 성공하기도 했다. 그 로켓의 길이는 14m, 지름 1m로 우리 나라 독자 기술로 개발한 것이다. 그는 우리 나라가 독자적으로 인공위성을 만들어, 역시 독자적으로 개발한 로켓으로 발사에 성공하면 월드컵 4강 진출보다 더 국가 이미지가 높아질 것으로 내다봤다. 그만큼 우주기술은 극한 기술과 첨단기술을 골고루 필요로 하기 때문이다.

A Study on Physical and Psychological Violence in Dating among Male and Female Adolescents. (고교생의 이성교제 중 신체적, 심리적 폭력사용에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the dynamics of dating violence among male and female adolescents. Out of 1205 high school students. 90.6%(n=1092) was included for the final analysis. 120 students(11.9%) reported to have experienced physical violence with a dating partner at least once or more. The most frequently used forms of violence were pushing and grabbing. Both of aggressors and victims interpreted the violence as an expression of love and affection. Coping behavior of victims were quite passive, while aggressors tried to apologize and to make-up. Most of victims were angry about violence. while aggressors felt sorry for their behavior. 72.5% of respondents reported that the relationship remained unchanged or got better after the violence. while 26.7% answered their relationship was terminated or got worse. 157 respondents(14.4%) reported to have experienced psychological violence at least once or more. Shouting and insulting language or behavior were most frequently used. Coping behavior of victims was mostly negotiation and communication. Based on the findings of this study, suggestions were made in regard to student guidance and counseling for dating aggression.

  • 프로그래밍 교육이 초 중 고교에서 의무화될 예정인 가운데 코딩을 쉽고 재미있게 배우기 위한 교육 개발의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유아용 프로그래밍 교육 도구인 '큐베토'를 모티브로 하여 창의력, 상상력에 과학기술이 더해진 창의적 융합인재교육에 접목한 에듀테인먼트를 기반으로 한 STEAM 게임 콘텐츠 제작의 프로토타입을 제안한다. 제안된 STEAM 게임 콘텐츠는 유아의 흥미를 유발할 수 있도록 출판물 동화를 활용하여 길을 찾아 모험을 떠나는 스토리 전개와 캐릭터를 제작하고 이를 통해서 유아의 창의적 융합인재교육에 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate realities of homemaking education for elementary and secondary schools in japan and to obtain the basic guidance for the improvement of effect of homemaking education in Korea. The results are as follows: 1. Home economics education takes an important role for society. From this point of view, homemaking education is also clarified in Japan. 2. Homemaking education is provided as independently required subject of coeducation in Japanese elementary and secondary schools. And many people think that homemaking coeducation is necessary in the elementary and secondary schools. 3. Curriculum is reorganized continuously and variously in Japan, so that the girls and the boys can learn knowledge and skill which is necessary for them to live home lives, corresponding with circumstance and social changes that surround home.

Analysis of the Illuminance Distribution on the Blackboard in Classroom of the Elementary and Senior (Junior) High School (초.중.고교의 흑판조도분포 분석)

  • In this paper, the illuminance distribution of blackboards on classroom in elementary, junior, and senior high school was measured and analyzed. Generally, average illuminance and uniformity of illuminance was 519[lx] and 0.543 (elementary: 389[lx], 0.387; junior: 632[lx], 0.570; senior: 527[lx], 0.608) respectively. When all lighting fixtures in each classroom were turned on, average illuminance was higher about 65% than lights-out, and, in case that local lighting fixtures exist, was higher 27% than absence, but uniformity of illuminance turned bad on the contrary ($0.462{\rightarrow}0.676$). According to classification into direction of windows on classroom. facing north, both were bad. In case of classroom to slant to east or west, the difference of illuminance at the forenoon and afternoon was big, and uniformity of illuminance was also bad.

  • 최근 대학들은 안팎으로 많은 어려움에 직면하고 있다. 내적으로는 학령인구 감소에 따른 입학정원의 부족을 외적으로는 대학시장 개방에 따라 해외 유학생들 급증에 따른 학생유치 등의 어려움이 가중되고 있다. 이 같은 위기를 타개하기 위한 방안 중 하나로 대학들은 홍보활동을 강화하고 있다. 그 동안 대학들은 대학이미지 제고를 위해 각종매체 등을 활용하여 관계집단에게 직, 간접적으로 홍보를 확대하는 등 홍보를 대학존립을 위한 자구책의 일환으로 인식하고 다각적인 노력을 하고 있다. 이 논문은 대학에서 실시하고 있는 홍보활동에 대한 효율적 방안의 하나로서, 고교 입시생들에게 대학지원 및 선택에 직접적인 영향을 주고 있는 교사를 대상으로 하여 비교적 제작경비가 저렴하면서도 장기 누적적 효과를 줄 수 있는 홍보기념품의 하나인 다이어리에 대하여 다이어리기능과 홍보기능을 결합시킨 교사용 다이어리의 디자인 방향연구를 통해 홍보비용 및 효과를 제고시키기 위한 제안이다.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the successional process of homemaking education curriculum for elementary and secondary schools in Japan. The findings were as follows: 1. While homemaking education was mainly for the girls in schools before war, it has been developed to required subject for the girls and boys in Japanese schools after war. 2. It is a very specific point that living subject is choosen newly for the lower grads in Japanese primary schools. 3. But it is remarkable that there are both the elective subject for the girls and the elective sub-ject for the boys in Japanese secondary schools. 4. As we investigate the process to study, discuss and revise curriculum according to the changes of social circumstances in Japan, it should be considered a lot for our homemaking education.
