Anti-Sd^a is of no clinical significance, because it rarely causes hemolytic transfusion reactions. Even when its presence is suspected during antibody screening test, further identification of the antibody is usually not performed. We experienced a case of anti-Sd^a in 73 yr-old male patient showing mixed field agglutination by microcolumn agglutination. Antibody specificity could not be identified by conventional antibody identification test, and it was proven to be anti-Sd^a by urine neutralization test. In spite of its little clinical significance, it may give incompatible crossmatching results reacting with Sd^a antigen, which occurs at a high frequency in general population. When incompatible crossmatch results arising from anti-Sd^a are suspected, the problem may be solved by using the urine-neutralized serum of in crossmatching test.

Renal cell carcinoma is the third most common metastatic tumor to the bone and soft tissues of the head and neck. The common sites of metastatic renal cell carcinoma in head and neck region are nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, oral mucosa, gingiva, tongue, palate, lip as the favored site. The present paper deals with one patient with metachronous oral tongue, nasal cavity and suspicious brain metastases after 2 years of renal cell carcinoma nephrectomy. Also, the patient had history of total thyroidectomy for thyroid follicular carcinoma. Total excision of nasal cavity and tongue mass were performed. Therapeutic aspects are briefly reviewed in literature.

강우의 산성화는 인간이 화석연료를 사용하기 시작하면서 불과 200년도 안되는 기간에 인위적 요인에 의해 급진전되고 있으며, 최근 고도의 산업화와 함께 급격히 심화되고 있다. 동아시아 지역은 높은 인구 밀도와 최근의 급격한 에너지 소비 증가로 다량의 대기오염물질들을 방출하고 있다. 특히 우리 나라와 인접한 중국은 급속한 공업화로 가장 많은 대기오염물질을 방출하는 것으로 알려지고 있고, SO$_2$ 배출량이 지난 20년간 3배 이상 증가했으며 2020년에는 1990년에 비해 최대 3배 정도 더 증가할 것으로 예측(Arndt et al., 1998; Carmi- chael et al., 1997)되고 있다. Spindle cell carcinomas of the head and neck are unusual neoplasms that are histologically biphasic, having both squamous cell carcinoma and apparently malignant spindle cell or sarcomatous element. Controversy about the histogenesis of these tumors has resulted in various terminology ; sarcomatoid carcinoma, pseudosarcoma, carcinosarcoma, and spindle cell carcinoma. The clinical course and natural history of these tumors are also variable. We report a case of 64-year-old male who complained of a neck mass. The patient was treated with extended radical neck dissection and postoperative radiotherapy, but the primary site of spindle cell carcinoma could not be found. We reviewed the clinical course, treatment, prognosis, and histogenesis of spindle cell carcinoma of the head and neck.

신경망을 이용한 적응제어는 학습능력에 따라 외란작용에 스스로 대처하고, 정밀한 제어가 가능하지만 학습파라미터가 최적화되기 전에는 불안정한 제어응답을 보인다. 퍼지논리는 전문가의 경험을 논리화한 것으로 제어특성은 좋으나, 외란에 대한 적응력이 부족하여 계속적인 오프셋이 발생할 수 있다. 따라서, 퍼지와 신경망을 시스템의 동특성에 따라 혼용한 제어방식을 제시하고, 시뮬레이션으로 시간지연이 있는 CSTH의 온도와 비선형 공정인 pH 중화공정에 적용하여 단순신경망 제어어보다 개선된 제어응답 특성을 얻었다.

Sodium bromate or potassium bromate has been used as hair cold neutralizer. Sodium bromate intoxications occurred in children incidentally early days of marketing, but recently in adult suicidally. This chemical intoxication result in renal failure, ototoxicity, neurotoxicity, hemolytic anemia and so on. We experienced a 39-year-old woman of hairdresser with non-oliguric acute renal failure after ingestion hair neutralizer 500 ml. She received hemodialysis 3 times and discharged without complication on 8th admission days.

The rarity of primary tumor of the trachea, which was recently estimated in a circumscribed population to be 2.7 new cases per million per year, explains the relatively limited experience that has been acquired even by major institutions. Although there may already by a high degree of airway obstruction, tracheal tumors are usually misdiagnosed as bronchial asthma or chronic bronchitis because of its nonspecific symptoms. Surgery is the treatment of choice. Recently, the authors experienced three cases of primary tracheal malignant tumors ; one case of mucoepidermoid carcinoma and two cases of adenoid cystic carcinoma. The authors report on these cases with a review of the literature for give help in differential diagnosis and treatment planing of tracheal tumor.

The cellular neural networks have shown a vast computing power for the image processing in spite of the simplicity of its structure. However, it is impossible to implement the CNN hardware which would require the same enormous amount of cells as that of the pixels involved in the practical large image. In this parer, the $5\times5$ CNN hardware and the pre post processor which can be used for processing the real large image with a time-multiplexing scheme are implemented. The implemented $5\times5$ CNN hardware and pre post processor is applied to the edge detection of $256\times256$ lena image to evaluate the performance. The total number of block. By the time-multiplexing process is about 4,000 blocks and to control pulses are needed to perform the pipelined operation or the each block. By the experimental resorts, the implemented $5\times5$ CNN hardware and pre post processor can be used to the real large image processing.

Purpose : Studies on the duration of immune response against Japanese encephalitis virus from recipients with JE vaccine (Nakayama-NIH strain) in Korea. Methods : To determinate the immune response and the duration of antibody against JE vaccine, 213 students were examined since 1994 using hemmaglutination inhibition test and plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT). Results : 24 months after the first vaccination, haemmaglutination inhibition and neutralizing antibody maintained from the recipients 63.4% (>1:20) and 100% (>1:20), respectively. In April 1996, one dose booster to the same recipients those who were vaccinated in 1994, the GMT antibody for HI and PRNT titer were both increased from 1:11.6 to 1:13.2 and 1:275.7 to 1:348.1, respectively, after 6 months booster (after 30 months from the initial vaccination). This results showed that the antibody from the active immunity could be maintained more than 12 months after the initial vaccination. On the basis of these results, inactivated killed JE vaccine (Nakayama-NIH strain) using for preventing against JE purpose seems to produce antibody enough to protect against JE at present. Conclusions : Along with the results of this study demonstrating duration of antibody, the active immunization could be maintained as long as by initial vaccination of 2 doses, a single dose of booster vaccination made during a period of 1 month to 12 months and the successive booster vaccination by 2 or 3 year intervals. However, the immunization schedule should be concerned with both epidemiology of disease and the immune response of vaccinated individuals.

Chutzu has established a theory of human mind and moral mind(人心道心說) by quoting the key of cultivation of mind comprised of sixteen letters(十六字心法) to a preface of Zhongyong(中庸章句序) and making comments on the key. Chutzu's theory of human mind and moral mind explains the supervision of mind that materializes chung-ho(中和), which is the core theme of Zhongyong(中庸). Supervision of mind is completed by consciousness. Chutzu defines consciousness as 'preparing the principle(理) and practicing the emotion(情)'. So, consciousness derives the reaction from the principle(理) in order to respond to the external stimulation. By being conscious, mind(心) reveals original nature(性) into emotion(情). An aspect that mind(心) keeps original nature prior to the external stimulation is un-awakened(未發). Once stimulation occurs, mind(心) becomes conscious of the principle which is proper to the situation. In sympathetic situation, sympathetic emotion is revealed by being conscious of benevolence(仁). In judgment situation, the emotion which judges right or wrong is revealed by being conscious of wisdom(智). An aspect of revealing the proper emotion relevant to the situation is wakened(已發). Mind(心) keeps all the original nature of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom(仁義禮智). It supervises original nature and emotion, and reveals chung-ho(中和) by being conscious of the proper principle(理). Moral mind must supervise to accomplish chung-ho(中和), and gewuzhizhi(格物致知) must be done first to enhance the supervision of moral mind. By establishing a theory of human mind and moral mind(人心道心說), Chutzu completes a theory of mind that covers both theories of chung-ho(中和說) and gewuzhizhi(格物致知說).
