Successful Positioning Strategy of KIA K5 - by understanding market needs - (기아자동차 K5의 포지셔닝 성공사례 - 변화하는 시장을 이해하고 주도하다 -)

  • The objective of this case study is to analyze how effectively KIA K5, which is a leading mid-size car brand, has positioned itself into the mid-size car market. Before KIA launched the K5, Sonata and SM5 were the leading brands in the mid-size car market. They had loyal customers who like their similar images. As many competitors keep launching new brands or new designs into the car industry, Sonata and SM5 were pressured to introduce new versions. But, the YF Sonata and the New SM5 failed to catch up with the new trends in the market. Whilst YF Sonata was perceived as too innovative, the New SM5 was treated as an old car by the target customers of the mid-size car. While the two leading brands struggled to attract customers, KIA K5 found a new market space by identifying and focusing on the lucrative replace and up-grade demand segment and filling the gap between the current product category values and the emerging mid-size car category values. The K5 found the right values that customers need and successfully articulated the values to the customers. This case study illustrates that a successful positioning strategy can be effectively employed to attract customers in the saturated car manufacturing industry. This case can be summarized as the successful positioning strategy of KIA K5 is comprised of four primary pillars: design innovation, market analysis, STP (segmentation, targeting, and positioning), and launch strategy. The KIA K5 case study provides valuable insights and implications for many other companies that are planning to find a proper positioning strategy for their own business.

국산 신형 중형차의 우선순위

  • 본 연구에서는 개선된 계층적 분석과정(AHP)을 사용하여 국산 신형 중형차의 우선 순위를 평가한다. AHP 모형은 외관, 성능, 안전성, 경제성, 영업사원, 사후정비의 주 기준과 39개 세부기준으로 구성된다. 구현의 특징을 (1) 샘플 크기가 작은 그룹의사결정 문제로 한정할 때, 한 의사결정자의 전체 쌍비교 행렬보다는 일관성비율이 한계치 이하의 행렬 만을 고려하였고, (2) 중요도 도출 과정에서 평가기준은 쌍비교 방식을, 대안은 레이팅 기법을 결합하였으며, (3) 그룹 중요도는 일관성 비율의 역수를 사용하였다. 사례 연구로 국내 자동차 판매 영업대표와 운전자를 대상으로 각각 평가기준에 대한 중요도와 레이팅 값을 도출, 3대 경쟁 차조의 우선순위를 비교 분석한다.

  • 500kg급 차세대중형위성은 공공분야 위성 수요에 효과적으로 대응하고, 국내 위성산업 저변 확대 및 산업체 육성을 위한 사업으로 개발되고 있다. 국내 산업체에서 개발되는 표준 위성 플랫폼이 적용될 예정인 차세대중형위성3호는 우주과학/기술검증용 위성으로, 특히 한국형발사체에 의해 2023년 발사된다는 점이 특별하다. 본 발표에서는 차세대 중형위성 3호에 제안한 우주망원경 UVOMPIS (UV-Optical Multiband Polarizing Imager System)에 대한 개념 설계 결과 및 과학 임무에 대한 소개를 통해 국내 학계와 산업계의 협력과 관심을 유도하고자 한다.

  • The increasing demands and utilization of the multi-purpose satellites have led to diverse research activities with regards to satellite image processing and applications. In the domestic development project for the Compact Advanced Satellite, it is a goal to develop the satellite with the domestic individual technique performing a various tasks such as the earth observation, the monitoring of the weather, climate and environment. In particular, the Compact Advanced Satellite is expect to be widely used in the agricultural sector, which account for a substantial part of public demand. This paper aims at establishing the way to utilize the satellite imagery in the domestic institution and the strategy for securing the specialized satellite payload in the agriculture sector. The technical element of satellite has a high value, so that it is hard to be transferred technology. For this reason, it is required to establish the domestic development planning. Furthermore, this paper can be utilized to identify and support the incoming Compact Advanced Satellite development plan utilizing satellite images capabilities specially in agricultural sector.

실시간 해양 정보 제공을 위한 중형 항로표지 표체 형상 연구

  • 해양 4차 산업 도래에 맞춰 기존 항로표지 역할에 ICT 기술을 융합하여 표준화된 디지털 해양 정보 서비스가 요구되고 있으며, 신항행 안전과 시설 관리 효율성을 추구하는 차세대 디지털 항로표지 기술 개발이 추진되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 해양 정보 제공을 위한 중형 항로표지 형상 연구를 수행하였다. 스마트항로표지 설계시 주안점을 정리하고, 설계 주안점을 바탕으로 4가지의 형상(안)을 제시하였다. 제시한 형상(안)에 대하여 평가를 수행하고 개선사항을 도출하여 형상(안)을 선정하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 표체 형상을 바탕으로 스마트 항로표지 상세 설계와 정적동적 안정도 평가 및 수리모형을 수행하여 추후 타당성 검증을 수행할 예정이다.

A Convergent Study on the Structural Analysis of Stabilizer at Light and Large Sized Cars (경차와 대형차에서의 스테빌라이저들의 구조해석에 관한 융합연구)

  • In this study, the torsional rigidity and durability of the stabilizer models with the hollow axis of light and large sized cars were compared and investigated each other. Model 1 was applied with the moment more than three times as much as model 2, but the maximum deformation of model 1 was seen to be about 2.6 times larger than that of model 2. Commonly, models 1 and 2 are seen to get the most stress at the neck of stabilizer bar link. Also, the maximum stress of model 1 was about 2.9 times larger than that of model 2. Model 1 at large car showed more than 20 times more deformed energy than model 2 at small car. Overall, it could be examined that the deformation energy of the bracket part on the side where the moment fixing the stabilizer bar was applied was greater than that of the stabilizer. It is thought that the analysis results in this study can be helped at the design of its convergent research as a durable component of the stabilizer at a light or large sized car.
