Objective : Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) commonly suffer from feeding disorders. Major feeding problems include mealtime behavior problems, picky eating, and a lack of food variety can lead to nutritional problems, developmental and social limitations, and stress for the caregivers. A review of the latest literature was conducted to gain an in-depth understanding of assessment tools for feeding disorders in children with ASD. Method : This study analyzed assessments to identify feeding problems in ASD based on previous studies searched through keywords such as ASD, ASD feeding problem, and ASD feeding evaluation. Results : The ASD feeding disorder assessment was divided into direct and indirect assessments. Indirect assessment, in which caregivers measure a child's situation using questionnaires, is mainly used. The assessment of feeding disorders in children with ASD was divided into 1) mealtime behavior, 2) sensory processing, 3) food consumption, and 4) others. Conclusion : As the main feeding disorder characteristics of children with ASD are very diverse, a comprehensive evaluation is necessary but is still limited. Swallowing rehabilitation experts, such as occupational therapists, should apply comprehensive assessment tools based on a basic understanding of the feeding problems, behaviors, and sensations in ASD.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of HMD-based virtual reality core nursing skills training on nursing students' knowledge, performance, self-confidence, self-efficacy, and problem-s olving ability. The study participants were 45 fourth-year nursing students from a university in A city. The participants were assigned to either the experimental group (n = 21) who received VR core nursing skills related to blood transfusion training or the control group (n = 24) who received traditional training using mannequins. After completing core nursing skill training, the experimental group and the control group performed simulations including blood transfusion. Data was collected from October 3 to October 28, 2022. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-tests. The results showed that after the intervention, the experimental group had significantly higher knowledge scores than the control group (t=-2.13, p=.039). The control group had significantly higher self-confidence in performance than the experimental group (t=2.63, p=.012). There were no significant differences in performance, self-efficacy, or problem-solving ability between the two groups. Therefore, VR-based core nursing skills training can be usefully utilized for nursing students to learn the knowledge and procedures before performing them in real life, and traditional core nursing skills training using mannequins can lead to an increase in nursing students' confidence in performing the skills.
This study aims to explore how professors at community colleges are experiencing career guidance for their students, uncovering key components related to causes, phenomena, contexts, coping strategies, etc., and deriving a paradigm model to structurally. To achieve this objective, focus group interviews were conducted with a total of 23 community college professors, and the results were analyzed using the grounded theory method (Strauss & Corbin, 1998). The analysis yielded 17 categories and 31 subcategories. The central phenomenon in the career guidance of community college professors was categorized into two groups: the distress experience in career guidance and attitude changes toward interactions with students..Three categories of causal conditions contributing to the occurrence of the central phenomenon were identified: professors' lack of expertise in career guidance, students' scope and needs for career guidance, and students' low interest and expectations. Additionally, four contextual conditions corresponding to special situations or circumstances that contributed to the central phenomenon were identified: increasing demand for career guidance, excessive burden and time constraints for career guidance, lack of communication about career guidance at the institutional level, and limitations within the career guidance support system. Furthermore, the study uncovered patterns of action-interaction, mediating conditions, and outcomes. This study is expected to contribute to a better understanding of the actual experiences of college professors in the career guidance process, and to stimulate consideration of the types of support required for effective career guidance for college professors in the future.

The purpose of this study was to examine research trends related to neonatal simulation practice education of domestic nursing students. It was a descriptive research study. For literature collection, a total of 17 journals were selected as a result of a search using ('Newborn Simulation') AND ('Nursing Student' OR 'Nursing College Student' OR 'Student Nurse') in 6 domestic electronic databases. The research results showed that it started with 7 journals from 2011 to 2015 and decreased slightly to 5 journals from 2016 to 2020 and 5 journals from 2021 to 2023. The research design was mostly quantitative with a total of 16 journals(94%). Among them, there were 15 intervention journals(88%), 1 descriptive research journals(6%), and 1 mixed method journals(6%). The key topics in simulation practice were high-risk newborns with 9 journals(52%), respiratory distress syndrome in neonatal intensive care units appeared with 3 journals(18%), neonatal care with 3 journals(18%), normal newborn care with 1 journal(6%), and neonatal emergency airway care with 1 journals(6%). The main outcome variables were clinical performance, accounting for 5 journals(19.2%), followed by practice satisfaction 3 journals(11.5%). clinical competency and practice satisfaction were found to have significant positive effects. In conclusion, various research methods are required, such as expansion of nursing students' neonatal simulation practice education, repeated research, and qualitative research.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a acute ankle mobility exercise (AE) program on the range of motion and pain levels associated with chronic ankle instability (CAI). Twenty adult women with an average score of 24 or less on both sides in the ankle instability questionnaire were selected and divided into two groups: the Ankle Mobility Exercise Program group (AE, n=10) and the control group (CON, n=10). The AE treatment involved a one-time, 20-minute exercise session for each ankle, conducted separately on the left and right ankles, to examine the response to a acute exercise. Measures of ankle instability, pain, and ankle range of motion were evaluated before and after the treatment. In the AE group, which underwent the AE program, a significant decrease in pain was observed post-AE compared to pre-AE (p<.01). In addition, an increase in dorsiflexion was observed in the AE group post-AE compared to pre-AE following the AE program(p<.05). These results suggest that a acute AE program can effectively alleviate some aspects of ankle instability by improving ankle pain and range of motion in adult women with chronic ankle instability (CAI).

The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of teaching and learning in the era of science and technology. The conclusion is as follows: From the perspective of new materialism, the direction of teaching and learning first emphasizes the importance of learning experience. Second, a teaching method that emphasizes giving meaning is needed. Third, there is a need to consider various perspectives and backgrounds. The direction of teaching and learning in the era of phenomenology is, first, the meaning and meaning of learning is important. Second, it emphasizes the role of independent learners. Third, diverse experiences must be integrated. Fourth, a flexible approach is needed depending on the environment and situation. Rather than a fixed teaching method, it is necessary to use a variety of teaching strategies according to the situation and needs of the learner. From the perspective of actor network theory, the direction of teaching and learning needs to first embrace a variety of actors. Second, there is a need to understand the role of the mediator actor. Third, there is a need to emphasize the dynamic aspect of the network. Fourth, there is a need to emphasize interaction and giving meaning. Fifth, there is a need to strengthen interaction with technology. Sixth, there is a need to create a non-linear and open learning environment. The direction of society and teaching and learning presented in Trend Korea 2024 considers time as a precious resource in a divided society, and teaching and learning must adapt and develop in a useful direction in a changing environment.
Objective : This study aimed to determine the impact of an instrumental daily living activity program for adults with developmental disabilities on their daily living activities and quality of life (QOL). Methods : This study used a single-group pre-test-post-test experimental design. Participants comprised 17 adults with developmental disabilities from the Welfare Center for the Disabled. This program consisted of 10 sessions, including pre- and post-assessments, pertaining to training and education on grocery shopping, meal preparation and cleaning, home management, safety, and emergency management. The evaluation tools used in this study were the Quality of Life Questionnaire, Korean version of the Life Space Assessment (K-LSA), and Korean version of the Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (K-IADL). Results : There was a statistically significant difference in the QOL and K-IADL scores before and after the instrumental activities of daily living occupational therapy program, and there was no statistically significant difference in the K-LSA scores. Conclusion : This study confirmed that implementing an IADL program for adults with developmental disabilities had a positive impact on performance and QOL. For adults with developmental disabilities to participate in daily life and society, interventions for work participation, including training in activities of daily living, must be expanded.

This study aims to deeply analyze the military strategies and tactics used in the battles between Israel and Hamas, to understand the military approaches, technical capabilities, and their impact on the outcomes of the conflict. To achieve this, methodologies such as literature review, data analysis, and case studies were utilized. The research findings confirm that Hamas employed asymmetric tactics, such as rocket attacks and surprise attacks through underground tunnels, to counter Israel's military superiority. On the other hand, Israel responded to Hamas's attacks with the Iron Dome interception system and intelligence-gathering capabilities, but faced difficulties due to Hamas's underground tunnel network. After six months of fighting, the casualties in the Gaza Strip exceeded 30,000, and more than 1.7 million people became refugees. Israel also suffered over 1,200 deaths. Militarily, neither side achieved a decisive victory, resulting in a war of attrition. This study suggests that the Israel-Hamas war exemplifies the complexity of modern asymmetric warfare. Furthermore, it recommends that political compromise between the two sides and active mediation efforts by the international community are necessary for the peaceful resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Purpose: With the introduction of H. pylori eradication and proton pump inhibitor, the operative treatments for the acute or chronic complications of peptic ulcer, such as perforation, bleeding and stricture, have decreased. Also owing to the development of non-operative treatment such as interventional endoscopic treatment, the surgical approach to the acute complications, like perforation and bleeding, has diminished. The non-operative treatments for the stricture and obstruction of chronic peptic ulcer in part related to discontinuation of medication have not been satisfactory. We analyzed the clinical outcomes of the patients who underwent operative treatment for outlet obstruction with peptic ulcer. Materials of Methods: From January 1994 to December 2007, we reviewed 31 patients who had been operated on at the National Medical Center for peptic ulcer obstruction. We excluded the cases of adhesive obstructions that were caused by a former ulcer operation and also the cases of obstructions found during emergency operations for treating perforation and bleeding. We classified the surgical treatment group into the bypass operation group and the surgical resection group. We evaluated the effects of the operations by the Visick score. The recurrences were confirmed only by the endoscopic observation of peptic ulcer. Results: The number of patients in the bypass operation group was 6 (19.4%) and that of resection group was 25 (80.6%). The mean age was 57.5 (25~81) years. The number of male patients was 29 (93.5%) and the number of females was 2 (6.5%). The mean symptom duration was 29.6 months. There were 19 smokers (61.3%), 6 NSAID users (19.4%) and 7 H. pylori positive patients (22.6%). Two patients underwent endoscopic balloon dilatation with no success. The locations of lesion were the stomach, the duodenum and both in 9, 20 and 2 cases, respectively. There were operative complications in 13 cases (41.9%), recurrent ulcers in 2 cases (6.5%), and reoperations in 4 cases. The mean Visick score was 1.8 (1~4). There were no statistically significant clinicopathologic differences between the bypass operation group and the resection group. The two groups had 1 case each of recurrence. Although the bypass group had a greater complication rate (83.3%) than the resection group (32%), this was not statistically meaningful (P=0.175). The mean Visick score was 3.0 in the bypass group and 1.6 in the resection group, so the resection group was better (P=0.001). Conclusion: For a case of chronic peptic ulcer with outlet obstruction, even though it has been reported that endoscopic balloon dilatation worked well, surgery is still regarded as an important treatment. If you consider the patients' satisfaction and the difficulty of diagnosing malignant ulcers, surgical resection should be recommended more often than a bypass operation.

Background: The efficacy of the use of the interventional bronchoscope for palliation of patients with central airway obstruction has been established. In the palliative setting to alleviate central airway obstruction, the use of laser resection, electrocautery, argon plasma coagulation, photodynamic therapy and cryotherapy can provide relief of an airway obstruction. Cryotherapy is the therapeutic application of extreme cold for the local destruction of living tissue. Recently, this technique has been used for endoscopic management of central airway obstructions in Korea. We report the role and complications of the use of cryotherapy for airway obstructions in patients with advanced lung cancer. Methods: We used a flexible cryoprobe for cryotherapy using nitrous oxide as a cryogen. The cryoprobe was applied through the working channel of a flexible fiberoptic bronchoscope. The temperature of the tip was approximately $-89^{\circ}C$, and the icing time was 5~20 seconds. Results: Four patients with a central airway obstruction from advanced lung cancer were treated with cryotherapy. Three of the four patients were treated successfully and the airway obstruction was improved after the cryotherapy procedure. Dyspnea, hypoxia and atelectais were improved in three cases. Two patients experienced complications- one patient experienced pneumomediastinum and the other patient experienced massive hemoptysis during the cryotherapy procedure. However, these complications resolved and did not influence mortality. Conclusion: This technique is effective and relatively safe for palliation of inoperable advanced lung cancer with a central airway obstruction.
