지방의 중소형 백화점은 외국자본의 할인점과 대기업에서 운영하는 대형백화점의 진출로 사면초가의 위기를 맞고 있다. 따라서 이러한 어려운 여건하에서 어떻게 하면 살아남을 수 있는 방안이 있는지를 찾는데 가장 큰 목적이 있다. 따라서 이를 위하여 지방의 중소형 백화점의 문제점의 도출을 하고, 경쟁력 강화요인을 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 먼저, 문제점을 도출하면, 유통업체 내부적인 관점으로는 불필요한 경비지출 증가의 문제, 마진률 저하 및 상품구성의 문제, 인력의 종속성과 양성제도 미흡, 가격정책 결정의 한계, 마케팅 능력 미약과 이미지 저하, 업태의 불명확화 등이 있고, 기업외적인 관점으로는 자금조달의 한계, 정부의 정책지원의 미약, 거래관행의 구조적인 문제, 전문유통인력 양성정책의 미흡 등을 들 수 있다. 두 번째로 경쟁력 강화요인을 보면, 유통업체 내부적인 관점으로는 업태의 포지셔닝 재정립, 대입형태의 전환, 자사(PB)상품 개발 촉진, 우수한 전문인력의 확보, 서비스 경쟁력 제고 등이 있고, 기업 외적인 관점으로는 구조개선이 필요, 조직화 협업화 협동화, 지방 산업 육성, 자금과 교육지원 등을 들 수 있다.

본 연구는 공단이 수행하고 있는 중소형 강선 건조검사에 대한 현장 건조검사 매뉴얼 개발을 목표로 하여, 공단의 강선건조검사 수행 현황, 기준 및 검사공정을 분석하고 검사 관련하여 공단이 보유하고 있는 매뉴얼의 현황을 조사하여 현장검사 매뉴얼을 작성하기 위한 그 구성 및 범위를 정하였다. 위의 조사 내용을 바탕으로 개발된 현장 건조검사매뉴얼은 총톤수 500톤 미만의 선박길이 24m 여객선을 대상으로 하였으며, 선박 건조 공정 순으로 관련 검사사항 및 참고사항을 나열하고 그림과 도면 등을 첨부하여 건조검사 경력이 없는 검사원이 활용할 수 있는 보기 쉬운 매뉴얼이 되도록 하였다.

Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have strong incentives to engage in open innovation to enhance innovation efficiency and effectiveness due to their 'liability of smallness.' Previous research examined the performance effects of various open innovation practices, but whether coupled open innovation practices positively affect SMEs' firm performance is somewhat controversial. To resolve the issue, this study examined the effects of coupled open innovation activities on SMEs' firm performance using Heckman's two stage model to control endogeneity of the firms' self-selection bias in open innovation engagement. This study used the Korean Innovation Survey (KIS) 2020 collected by the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), and tested the effects of SMEs' coupled open innovation activities, R&D and non-R&D cooperation, on their innovative and financial performance indicators. The results showed that SMEs' R&D cooperation positively affects the new-to-market (NTM) product innovation only. Moreover, SMEs' non-R&D cooperation has positive effects on the product innovation, business process innovation, new-to-the-market product innovation, and new-to-firm (NTF) product innovation. However, the results showed that both R&D and non-R&D innovation cooperation activities have no significant effects on SMEs' financial performance indicators. This study contributes to research on SMEs' open innovation and provides insights for SMEs' managers and policymakers.

Recently, the theory of open innovation emerges as a new innovation paradigm. This paper aims to examine open innovation activities of SMEs. Many firms tend to search new knowledge from various external sources and to pursue to achieve innovation resources or knowledge of external innovators. Particularly, this paper focus on the process of external knowledge networking and open innovation occurred in the process of technology innovation. The data used in this study were those that had been collected for total 3,400 sample SMEs that had conducted R&D. and in-depth interviews were conducted with 14 SMEs located at Chungbuk-Technopark. Empirical findings can be summarized as follows; SMEs tend to search new knowledge from various external sources and to pursue to achieve innovation resources or knowledge of external innovators, because they have lack of innovation resources. therefore, the conducting of open innovation affected positively the innovation performance of SMEs. In addition, empirical findings also indicated that expanding flexibility of labor market enhances open innovation activities of SMEs.

Water quality investigation was conducted for small/medium sized reservoirs in A city in June and November 2014 as a preliminary step for further use. Water quality analysis experiments were conducted for 21 reservoirs managed by a local government and water quality data were obtained from Korea Rural Community Corporation for 12 reservoirs. It was found that relatively poor water quality, not satisfied with the regulation level (somewhat poor(IV)) for agricultural use, was observed for some reservoirs and worse water quality (poor(V) and very poor(VI) grade) was observed for more reservoirs during autumn /winter season due to the decrease in water volume. Correspondingly, the trophic state was obtained as "Eutrophic" or "Hypertrophic" using the Korean trophic state index for most reservoirs. It was also revealed that significant contamination in sediments was not observed for selected 8 reservoirs considering water quality in each reservoir. The results in this study could be useful for the use of small/medium sized reservoirs as alternative water resources, tourism resources, inland fishery resources, renewable energy production sites, and anti-flooding reservoirs.
