Data analysis of 4M data in small and medium enterprises (빅데이터 도입을 위한 중소제조공정 4M 데이터 분석)

  • In order to secure an important competitive advantage in manufacturing business, an automation and information system from manufacturing process has been introduced; however, small and medium enterprises have not met the power of information in the manufacturing fields. They have been managing the manufacturing process that is depending on the operator's experience and data written by hand, which has limits to reveal cause of defective goods clearly, in the case of happening of low-grade goods. In this study, we analyze critical factors which affect the quality of some manufacturing process in terms of 4M. We also studied the automobile parts processing of the small and medium manufacturing enterprises controlled with data written by hand so as to collect the data written by hand and to utilize sensor data in the future. Analysis results show that there is no deference in defective quantity in machines, while raw materials, production quality and task tracking have significant deference.

  • 오늘날 BI(Business Intelligence)시스템 다차원 데이터를 다루는 많은 방법들이 제안되어 TB 이상의 데이터를 다룰 수 있다. 하지만 IT 전문가 및 IT에 대한 투자여력이 충분하지 않은 중소 제조 기업들은 발 맞춰가기 힘들다. 또한 생산관리시스템(MES)을 미 도입한 기업이 대다수이고, 존재하는 현장데이터의 대부분도 수기데이터 또는 Excel 데이터로 보관 되어 있어, 수작업에 의한 데이터 분석과 의사결정을 수행한다. 이로 인해, 불량 요인 파악이나 이상 현상 파악이 불분명하기 때문에 데이터 분석에 어려움을 겪는다. 이에 본 연구에서는 중소제조기업의 경쟁력 강화를 위하여 제조 기업현장에서 사용되는 데이터를 자동으로 수집하여 정제 및 처리하여 저장이 가능하도록 하는 빅 데이터 분석 시스템 모델을 개발하였다. 이 분석 시스템 모델은 ERP, MIS 등에 존재하는 데이터들이 각 시스템의 DB 기능을 활용하여 데이터를 추출하고 정제하여 수집하는 ETL(Extract Transform Loading)과정을 통한다. 현장에서 비정형으로 기록되고 있는 정보들(ex. Excel)은 ODE(Office Data Excavation)모듈을 통해 문서의 패턴을 자동으로 인식하고 정형화된 정보로서 추출, 정제되어 수집된다. 저장된 데이터는 오픈소스 데이터 시각화 라이브러리인 D3.js를 이용하여 다양한 chart들을 통한 강력한 시각효과를 제공함으로써, 정보간의 연관 관계 및 다차원 분석의 기반을 마련하여 의사결정체계를 효과적으로 지원한다. 또한, 높은 가격에 형성되어 있는 빅데이터 솔루션을 대신해 오픈소스 Spago BI를 이용하여 경제적인 빅 데이터 솔루션을 제공한다. 본 연구의 기대효과로는 첫째, 현장 데이터 중심의 효과적인 의사결정 기반을 마련할 수 있다. 둘째, 통합 데이터 기반의 연관/다차원 분석으로 경영 효율성이 향상된다. 마지막으로, 중소 제조기업 환경에 적합한 분석 시스템을 구축함으로써 경쟁력과 생산력을 강화한다.

A Study on the Platform for Big Data Analysis of Manufacturing Process (제조 공정 빅데이터 분석을 위한 플랫폼 연구)

  • As major ICT technologies such as IoT, cloud computing, and Big Data are being applied to manufacturing, smart factories are beginning to be built. The key of smart factory implementation is the ability to acquire and analyze data of the factory. Therefore, the need for a big data analysis platform is increasing. The purpose of this study is to construct a platform for big data analysis of manufacturing process and propose integrated method for analysis. The proposed platform is a RHadoop-based structure that integrates analysis tool R and Hadoop to distribute a large amount of datasets. It can store and analyze big data collected in the unit process and factory in the automation system directly in HBase, and it has overcome the limitations of RDB - based analysis. Such a platform should be developed in consideration of the unit process suitability for smart factories, and it is expected to be a guide to building IoT platforms for SMEs that intend to introduce smart factories into the manufacturing process.

  • As the implementation of smart factories spreads widely, the need for research to improve data efficiency is raised by prioritizing massive amounts of big data using IoT devices in terms of relevance and quality. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether prioritizing big data in management accounting decisions such as cost volatility estimation and recipe optimization can improve smart solution performance and decision-making effectiveness. Based on the survey answers of 84 decision makers at domestic small and medium-sized manufacturers who operate smart solutions such as ERP and MES that link manufacturing data in real time, empirical research was conducted. As a result, it was analyzed that setting prioritization of big data has a positive effect on decision-making in management accounting. became In addition, it was found that big data prioritization has a mediating effect that indirectly affects smart solution performance by using big data in management accounting decision making. Through the research results, it will be possible to contribute as a prior research to develop a scale to evaluate the correlation between big data in the process of business decision making.

  • This study aims to analyze the cosmedical cosmetics market and the nature of customer through the social big data analysis. More than 80,000 posts were analyzed using R program. After data cleansing, keyword frequency analysis and association analysis were performed to understand customer needs and competitor positioning, formulated several implications for marketing strategy sophistication and implementation. Analysis results show that "prevention" is a new and essential attribute for appealing target customers. The expansion of the product line for the gift market is also suggested. It has been shown that there is a high correlation with products that can be complementary to each other. In addition to the traditional marketing technique, the social big data analysis based on evidence was useful in deriving the characteristics of the customers and the market that had not been identified before. Word2vec algorithm will be beneficial to find additional.

  • ERP supports the automation and integration of business processes of enterprises and records voluminous data about the business activities of enterprises. The academe and business enterprises are focusing on process mining, which improves the performance of business processes and strengthens compliance. However, these studies focused on analysis of the business process of large companies, which adopts foreign ERP, such as SAP ERP or Oracle ERP. In comparison with foreign ERP, domestic ERP lags behind in terms of logging and managing of event data. Therefore, the application of process mining to domestic ERP is a challenging task. The present study aims to analyze domestic ERP based on process mining to overcome this challenge. This study discusses the lessons learned from a case study in a Korean cosmetics manufacturing company. Our results are expected to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean small and medium-sized enterprises that adopt domestic ERP and realize the outcomes of the large investment of the Korean government on the ERP implementation of enterprises.

  • 최근 4차 산업의 등장 이후, 세계적으로 제조혁신을 위한 스마트 팩토리 분야의 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 스마트 팩토리란 ICT 기술과 기존 제조업이 융합하여 공장 내 장비, 부품들이 연결 및 상호 소통하게 하는 생산체계 의미한다. 하지만 스마트 팩토리는 빅 데이터, 사물인터넷, 클라우드 컴퓨팅, CPS 등의 다양한 기술 요소들이 집합된 기술이기 때문에 매우 고가의 구축비용이 요구된다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 IoT, 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기술을 활용하여 중소기업의 영세성을 고려한 저비용의 스마트 팩토리 시스템을 제안하고, 제조기업에서 수집 가능한 데이터 분석과 서비스를 정의하고자 한다.

A Study on Strategic Utilization of Smart Factory: Effects of Building Purposes and Contents on Continuous Utilization (스마트 팩토리의 전략적 활용 연구: 구축 목적 및 내용이 지속적 활용에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the relationships among purposes and contents of smart factory building and continuous utilization of smart factory. Specifically, this study identifies two types of purposes of smart factory building as follows: (1) improving productivity, (2) increasing flexibility. In this study, three aspects of smart factory building contents were suggested like this: (1) automation area (facility automation vs. work automation), (2) big data system focus (radical transformation vs. incremental improvement), and (3) value chain integration area (internal value chain integration vs. external value chain integration). In addition, we looked at how firm size moderates the purposes - contents - continuous utilization of smart factory relationship. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 151 manufacturing companies. More specifically, out of 151 companies, 100 are small-and-medium-sized enterprises and 51 large-sized enterprises. All questionnaires were targeted at companies with Smart Factory level above level 2. The analysis results of this study using Smart PLS statistical programs are as follows. First, the purposes of smart factory building including increasing productivity and flexibility had positive impacts on all of the contents of smart factory building. Second, all of smart factory building contents had positive impacts on the continuous use of smart factory except big data system for incremental improvement of manufacturing process. Third, the impacts of smart factory building purposes implementation on smart factory building contents varied depending on whether the purpose is productivity improvement or flexibility. Fourth, it was founded that firm size moderated the relationships of purposes - contents - continuous utilization of smart factory in such a way that large-sized firms tend to empathize the link between flexibility and smart factory building contents for continuous use of smart factory, while small-and-medium-sized-firms emphasizing the link between productivity and smart factory building contents. Most of the previous studies have focused on presenting current smart factory deployment cases. However, it is believed that this research has made a theoretical contribution in this field in that it established and verified a research model for the smart factory building strategy. Based on the findings from a working-level perspective, corporate practitioners also need to have a different approach to smart factory building, which should be emphasized depending on whether their purpose of building smart factory is to increase productivity or flexibility. In particular, since the results of this study identify the moderating effect of firm size, it is deemed necessary for firms to implement a smart factory building strategy suitable for their firm size.

  • The advent of information communication technology or the Fourth Industrial Revolution facilitated the fusion of equipment and management systems, such as Manufacturing Execution System, Enterprise Resource Planning, and Product Lifecycle Management, in the successful implementation of smart factories. The government supports the early adoption of these systems in small and medium companies to enhance their global competitiveness in producing products that can be recognized in a dramatically changing manufacturing environment. This study introduces smart factories to improve company competitiveness and address influences from the government assistance, CEO leadership, external consultancy, and organizational participation. We analyzed 101 results received from the questionnaires circulated to small- and medium-sized manufacturing companies. Given a successful smart factory implementation, company competitiveness is the factor that mostly influences organizational participation, government assistance, external consultancy, and CEO leadership. This study suggests several perspectives to implement a smart factory, which is the most important aspect of company competitiveness.

  • The technology conflict between the U.S. and China is deepening recently. The U.S.-China battle began as a national security issue but is comprehending as a U.S.'s check for China's rapid technological advancement. China is rapidly growing in several indexes including R&D expenditure, patent application, and publications, and is challenging the U.S. in 5G and Artificial Intelligence. In 2018, Huawei became the largest 5G network/equipment provider and second largest smart phone manufacturer in the world. Now, Huawei is outperforming at AI chipset manufacturing, Bigdata analysis and cloud, positioning to become a critical player in the 4th industrial revolution. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of recent Huawei issues to Korean SMEs focusing on the relation between Huawei and Korean companies; the cooperation status from the Global Value Chain (GVC) perpsective, and Korean government's policies related to Huawei's information security issues will be the three main frames for the analysis. Then, this research proposes policy implications such as increasing Korea's competitiveness in manufacturing and information security.
