  • 최근의 코히어런트 광통선 기술의 발전에 힘있어, 차세대 대용량 광통신 분야에 있어서 기술혁신이 이루어지고 있다, 코히어런트 광통신 기술은 100Gbps급의 전송망에서 표준으로 채택되었을 뿐만 아니라, 그 이상의 속도를 가지는 광통신망을 실현할 유일한 대안으로 그 중요성이 더해 갈 것으로 전망된다. 본 고에서는 그 중에서 직교위상변조기, 편광변환기, 편광분리기, 광하이브리드 및 밸런스 광검출기 등의 핵심 광부품기술의 현황 및 전망에 대해서 기술하였다.

  • An exploration for an intelligence paradigm has been delineated. Artificial intelligence and artificial life paradigms seem to fail to show the whole picture of human intelligence. We may understand the human intelligence better by adding the emotional part of human intelligence to the intellectual part of human intelligence. Emotional intelligence is investigated in terms of composing machine as a modern abstract art. Various algorithmic composition and performance concepts are currently being investigated and implemented. Intelligent mapping algorithms restructure the traditional predetermined composition algorithms. Music based on fractals and neural networks is being composed. Also, emotional intelligence and aesthetic aspects of Korean traditional music are investigated in terms of fractal relationship. As a result, this exploration will greatly broaden the potentials of the intelligence research. The exploration of art in the view of intelligence, information and structure will restore the balanced sense, of art and science which seeks happiness in life. The investigations of emotional intelligence will establish the foundations of intelligence, information and control technologies.

  • We propose a human-robot interaction(HRI) platform based on motion capture and mapping. Platform consists of capture, processing/mapping, and action parts. A motion capture sensor, computer, and avatar and/or physical robots are selected as capture, processing/mapping, and action part(s), respectively. Case studies-an interactive presentation and LEGO robot car are presented to show the design and implementation process of Kinect based HRI platform.

The Nonlinear Analysis and Modeling of the ER Fluid Damper Using Higher Order Spectrum (고차 주파수 스펙트럼을 이용한 ER 유체 댐퍼의 비선형 특성 해석 및 모델링 연구)

  • The nonlinear damping force model is made to identify the properties of the ER (electro-rheological) fluid suspension damper. The instrumentation is carried out to measure the damping force of the ER damper. The higher order spectral analysis method is used to investigate the nonlinear frequency coupling phenomena with the damping force signal according to the sinusoidal excitation of the damper. The distinctive higher order nonlinear characteristics are observed. The nonlinear damping force model, which has the higher order velocity terms, is proposed with the result of higher order spectrum analysis. The higher order terms coefficients, which vary according to the strength of the electric field, are calculated using the least square method.

  • A human-friendly interactive system, based on the harmonious symbiotic coexistence of humans and robots, is explored. Based on this interactive technology paradigm, a robotic cane is designed to help blind or visually impaired travelers to navigate safely and quickly among obstacles and other hazards faced by blind pedestrians. We outline a set of the hardware solutions and working methodologies that can be used for successfully implementing and extending the interactive technology to complex environments, robots, and humans. The issues discussed include the interaction of human and robot, design issue of robotic cane, hardware requirements for efficient human-robot interaction.

  • The major role of temperature sensors in thermal error compensation system of machine tools is improving machining accuracy by supplying reliable temperature data on the machine structure. This paper presents a new method for fault diagnosis of temperature sensors and recovery of faulted data to establish the reliability of thermal error compensation system. The detection of fault and its location is based on the correlation coefficients among temperature data from the sensors. The multiple linear regression model which is prepared using complete normal data is also used fur the recovery of faulted data. The effectiveness of this method was tested by comparing the computer simulation results and measured data in a CNC machining center.

  • The Resolver usually used in industry is the absolute angle analog sensor that must be in order to driving BLDC (brushless DC) motor, and it needs RDC(Resolver-to-Digital converter) for changing the output signal to digital to be applied to the SVPWM(Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation) algorithm. Commonly used S/W RDC needs trigonometric function. What it takes a lot of calculation time of processor is gotten at weak point. In this paper, S/W RDC is realized except trigonometric functions as a result of feedback resolver outputs after filtering using FIR filter. thus, processing time is reduced. So, One-chip DSP Controller operating the Vector Control, RDC, and SVPWM can be designed.

  • In this paper, we study an approach to design a Fuzzy PI controller in HVDC(High Voltage Direct Current) system. In the rectifier of traditional HVDC system, turning on, turning off, triggering and protections of thyristors have lots of problems that can make the dynamic instability and cannot damp the dynamic disturbance efficiently. In order to solve the above problems, we adapt Fuzzy PI controller for the fire angle control of rectifier. The performance of the Fuzzy PI controller is sensitive to the variety of scaling factors. The design procedure dwells on the use of evolutionary computing(Genetic Algorithms, GAs). Then we can obtain factors of the Fuzzy PI controller by Genetic Algorithms. A comparative study has been performed between Fuzzy PI controller and traditional PI controller, to prove the superiority of the proposed scheme.

  • PMU 정보를 이용하여 실시간으로 전압안정도를 감시하는 기술은 계속적으로 연구가 진행되고 있다. 전압안정도를 해석하는 수많은 방법 중에서 국내계통에 가장 잘 맞는 알고리즘을 찾는 것이 무엇보다도 중요하다. 또한 PMU의 설치는 현재에는 한정적일 수 밖에 없으므로 최소의 PMU를 가장 적절한 위치에 설치하여 계통의 전압 안정도를 감시하는 것이 중요 하다. 본 논문에서는 소수의 PMU를 이용하여 실시간으로 전압안정도를 감시하는 기술을 제안하고자 한다. 계통데이터 중선로임피던스를 이용하여 최소한의 PMU로부터 전압안정도를 감시하도록 한다. 본 방법을 검증하기 위하여 한전 실계통을 사용하도록 한다.

  • This article presents a method to calculate the sound radiation of transmission gearbox housing by using Helmholtz integral. Rayleigh integral is used to verify the method. Half-space radiation is considered because the actual gearbox housing is on hard place like concrete. For optimization, orthogonal array is used as a fractional factorial design method. Sound Radiation is calculated with simple source like plate and sphere shape, then actual gearbox BEM model is applied to the method.
