  • Efficient snow-removing work is one of important processes of winter road management. Calcium chloride has been used as a typical deicing agent in Korea. It presents superial performance as snow deicing agents, however it has been known to give serious environmental problem and to deteriorate durability of concrete structure in road by corrosion. The environment-friendly road deicing agents made from the waste material which is liquid phase organic matter that is Ca Mg and reactant of organic acid (nitric acid and propionic acid) have been introduced by number of researchers. They indicated the calcium magnesium salt of organic acids have advantage over the calcium choride in terms of lower production unit cost by resources recycling and can solve environmental problem and durability deterioration of structures. In this study, the deicing performance of calcium magnesium salt of organic acids(CMO) is investigated based on the series of experiments including the test for heat of dissolution, freezing point, ice melting test and ice penetration test.

Development of machine learning prediction model for weight loss rate of chestnut (Castanea crenata) according to knife peeling process (밤의 칼날식 박피공정에 따른 머신 러닝 기반 중량감모율 예측 모델 개발)

  • A representative problem in domestic chestnut industry is the high loss of flesh due to excessive knife peeling in order to increase the peeling rate, resulting in a decrease in production efficiency. In this study, a prediction model for weight loss rate of chestnut by stage of knife peeling process was developed as undergarment study to optimize conditions of the machine. 51 control conditions of the two-stage blade peeler used in the experiment were derived and repeated three times to obtain a total of 153 data. Machine learning(ML) models including artificial neural network (ANN) and random forest (RF) were implemented to predict the weight loss rate by chestnut peel stage (after 1st peeling, 2nd peeling, and after final discharge). The performance of the models were evaluated by calculating the values of coefficient of determination (R), normalized root mean square error (nRMSE), and mean absolute error (MAE). After all peeling stages, RF model have better prediction accuracy with higher R values and low prediction error with lower nRMSE and MAE values, compared to ANN model. The final selected RF prediction model showed excellent performance with insignificant error between the experimental and predicted values. As a result, the proposed model can be useful to set optimum condition of knife peeling for the purpose of minimizing the weight loss of domestic chestnut flesh with maximizing peeling rate.

Analysis and Evaluation of Impact Sound Insulation of Concrete Floor Structures in Response to Characteristics of Heavy-weight Impact Sources (중량충격원에 따른 콘크리트 바닥판의 차음특성 분석 및 평가에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the impact force levels of bang machine and impact ball were measured, then the heavy-weight impact sounds generated by the bang machine and impact ball were investigated. It was found that the heavy-weight impact sources generated through modal excitation, and the impact force of the impact ball was similar to that of real impact source. The heavy-weight impact sounds were also measured in the real apartments with different slab thickness and floor structures. The results showed that the floor impact sound levels in terms of $L_{iFmax,AW}$, generated by impact ball sounds were reduced by using the resilient isolators. The frequency characteristics of heavy-weight impact sounds at 125 and 250 Hz were consistent with the characteristics of impact force spectrum. However, the difference between the impact sounds and the impact forces were found at 63 and 500 Hz due to the resonance of the floor structure and flanking noise, respectively.

The Correlation Between Quality Changes and Skin Thickness of the Stored Citrus Fruit (저장감귤에서의 과피 두께와 품질변화간의 상관관계)

  • The storage time of citrus fruit at two different storage temperatures was predicted by quality changes such as weight loss, %Brix and skin thickness. The less weight loss of citrus fruits during storage at $3^{\circ}C$ was observed, compared to those stored at $25^{\circ}C$, whereas %Brix of citrus fruits increased slightly without any difference between storage temperatures. Skin thickness of fruit, represented by pixel, also changed more rapidly at the higher storage temperature. Above parameters with a storage time followed the 0 order reaction pattern. The relationship of skin thickness and storage time of the citrus fruit were resolved to a simple linear equation, and storage time could be predicted using this equation.

  • This study investigated the effects of the mixing ratio of tofu paste and normal corn starch on the characteristics of gluten-free (GF) muffins. Soft wheat flour for wheat flour-based muffins (control) was replaced with the mixture of tofu paste and normal corn starch (NCS). The mixing ratios of tofu paste and NCS were 1:6.4 (S100), 1:5.1 (S80), 1:3.8 (S60), 1:2.6 (S40), 1:1.3 (S20), and 1:0 (S00), based on their total solid contents. GF muffins of S40-S100 developed the porous, sponge-like structure without crumb collapse. The weight and baking loss did not significantly differ in the control and GF muffins. By decreasing NCS in GF muffin batters, the moisture content, firmness, and crumb redness/yellowness of GF muffins increased, while their volume, specific volume, and crumb lightness decreased. Nevertheless, these characteristics (except for firmness) of S100 were much closer to those of the control. In the preference test, however, S60 (possessing lower attributes than S100 and S80) was most favored among GF muffins, and was very similar in all evaluations (except for appearance) to the control. Overall, the mixture of tofu paste and NCS would be a potential material to replace soft wheat flour in muffins.

  • This paper presents the application of a magnetic gear to the electric propulsion system for an aircraft. Since high torque is required in aircraft electric propulsion systems, combining a speed reducer can amplify the torque. However, mechanical gears have issues, such as friction, vibration, and heat generation, which lead to maintenance challenges. In the case of a direct-drive motor that does not use mechanical gears, the size and weight of the motor increase to achieve high torque. This paper proposes the application of a magnetic gear to solve the maintenance issues of mechanical gears and the weight increase problem of direct-drive motors in aircraft electric propulsion systems. In this paper, a magnetic gear suitable for aircraft electric propulsion systems is designed, and it is compared with a direct-drive motor in terms of performance and the feasibility of applying the magnetic gear is verified.

  • 요통(Lowback Pain)을 유발하는 주요원인으로 알려져있는 MMH(Manual Materials Handling) 작업에 있어서 작업조건의 변화가 근육의 활동과 피로도에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 4가지 서로 다른 작업조건하에서 몸통부위(Trunk)의 주요근육에 대한 EMG 파형분석을 실시 하였다. 본 연구에서의 분석대항작업은 실제 작업조건과 유사하레 설계된 120분간의 단속적인 인양(Lifting)/하역(Lowering) 작업으로서 작업중량은 작업자의 MVIS(Maximum Voluntary Isometric Strength)를 기준으로 설정되었으며, 매 10분 간격으로 EMG 측정이 이루어졌다. 작업물이 작업자의 정면에 위치한 대칭형(Symmetric) 작업의 경우 배면부(Dorsal) 근육인 천극근(Erector Spinae)과 활배근(Latissimus Dorsi)이 활동근(Active Muscle)인 것으로 나타났으며, 정중면(Medial Plane)을 중심으로 좌우측 근육이 동일한 근력을 발휘하였다. 작업물이 작업자의 한쪽 측면에 위치한 90도 비대칭형(Asymmetric) 작업의 경우 천극근과 활배근외에 작업물과 반대쪽 외사근(External Oblique)이 활동근으로 추가되었으며, 작업물과 반대쪽의 근육들이 더욱 큰 근력을 발휘하였다. 작업의 반복에 따른 근육의 피로도를 평가하기 위해 실시한 EMG 파형의 Spectral Analysis 결과, 비대칭형 작업시 작업물과 반대쪽의 천극근에서 작업시간의 경과에 따라 중위주파수(Median Power Frequency)가 저주 파수대로 천이(Lower Shift)하는 현상이 나타났으며, 일정한 작업량이라도 작업중량을 줄이고 작업 빈도를 높여서 작업할 경우에 이러한 현상이 더욱 두드러졌다. 작업시간의 경과에 따른 MVIS의 감소 현상은 작업빈도가 높고 비대칭형 작업일 때 가장 크게 나타났다. 총손실을 줄이고, 상대적 비용절감효과를 갖게할 수 있다고 하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 성인 여성기성복의 치수적합성을 높이기위하여 출산 후 중년에 접어 들면서 체형이 변화되는 것을 고려하여 연령을 분류하고(18세-34세, 30세-51세), 각 연령 집단에 따른 체형을 각각 3가지로 분류하였다. 이에 따라 의복 생산시의 총손실을 줄이기위한 상의, 하의생산시 필요한 부위별 최적규격치 간격을 제시하였다.적인 기능으로 보여지는 것에 좁혀서 작업능력의 연령증가 변화에 대하여다원적 평가를 하는 것이 실제적이라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 인간이 가지고 있는 다수의 기능중에서 수지교 치성과 연령증가와의 관계를 조사한다. 만약 연령증가 만으로 수지교치성을 평가 할 수 없는 경우에는 어떠한 요인이 수지기민성의 변화에 영향을 미치는가를 검토한다.t list)에서 자동적으로 사건들의 순서가 결정되도록 확장하였으며, 설비 제어방식에 있어서도 FIFO, LIFO, 우선 순위 방식등을 선택할 수 있도록 확장하였다.   • Such fruits as nut persimmons, mandarin oranges and apples stored in the far-infrared radiated chamber at 5$^{\circ}C$ under 90% of relative humidity had been maintained in the fresh state for longer times than the control stored only in the cold chamber. Fruits stored in the far-infrared radiated chamber showed lower values in weight loss rate, microbial colony count and decay ratio and higher ascorbic acid content than the control stored only in the told room through the storage period. We confirmed that fruits stored in the far-infrared radiated chamber under low temperature and high humidity showed least changes in quality properties through the storage period and the far-infrared radiated facilities could be a good storage system.

  • In the corrugated steel panels used for railway vehicles, sound insulation performance is significantly deteriorated by local resonance effect. In this study, as a countermeasure, polyurethane foam is filled in the corrugated steel panel and glass wool layer is inserted in the layered floor panel, and then improvement effect of the sound insulation performance is experimentally estimated. Based on ASTM E2249-02, intensity transmission loss is measured and estimated on the corrugated panel and floor structure. The aim of the study is to identify how the foam filling and inserting glass wool layer improve the sound insulation performance of the train body structure in aspect of the weight increment.
