The Analysis of R&D Investment Factors for Enhancing the Regional Domestic Competitiveness in China (중국의 지역 내 경쟁력 제고를 위한 R&D 투자요인 분석)

  • China has become the group of two (G2) in almost fields including the scientific technology following the economic growth and joining the WTO in 2001. The main reason is that the government had strong intention for the industrialization of the scientific technology and connected the scientific technology and the economy. Typically, for analyzing the cause of the meteoric rise of China, the competitiveness of the scientific technology was analyzed by the entire score of the nation. However, in the case of China, there are differences in the pattern of the development between the eastern, central, and western province. Also, the industrialization and the competitiveness of the scientific technology are difference because each province established the decentralization of power. Therefore, it is more meaningful to analyze the main factors of Chinese economic growth on a province unit. In this study, therefore, we analyzed the competitive of R&D in China by 124 indexes in 31 areas. The data was analyzed by Partial least squares regression analysis. In conclusion, the scale of the area and the ability of R&D of the company are very important factors for total amount of production in the area. And the journals, patents, the transfer of technical know-how and the investment of R&D are main factors of the amount of export on the high-tech product. According to these results, the factors which make the difference in the industrialization and the competitiveness of the scientific technology in China were analyzed. Finally, it will be helpful to establish the policy for the development of the industrialization and the scientific technology in Korea.

A Comparative Study of Nursing Homes Competitiveness in China's Eastern Areas Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process Method (AHP기법을 이용한 중국 동부지역의 요양원 경쟁력 비교연구)

  • This work aims to use the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) tool to develop the model of industrial competitiveness in the nursing homes of eleven provinces in east China. The original data is from China Civil Affairs Statistical Yearbook 2020. The results show that Jiangsu province has the highest competitiveness in the elderly care industry among the eleven provinces in east China, and Hainan province has the lowest competitiveness. The competitiveness of the elderly care industry varies among the eleven provinces in east China. The ratios of beds to medical staff, the ratio of nursing homes, per capital fixed assets in nursing homes, and the number of unable self-care elderly are the four main influential factors across the competitiveness of the elderly care industry and indicates that the nursing homes competitiveness is affected by multiple factors from multiple levels. A differentiated strategy should be taken according to the circumstances in different provinces to rationally develop the elderly care industry, improving efficiency, the level, and quality of services in the nursing homes.

  • 중국은 냉전의 종식 이후 이전에 지역 내에서 미소간의 대립을 중심으로 형성되어 있었던 세력균형이 점차 다원화되고 있음에 따라, 지역 내의 강국이 되고자 하는 목표를 가지고 있기 때문에 인접국가와 분쟁에 처하게 될 가능성은 매우 커 보인다. 이러한 점에서 중국의 해군력 강화는 향후 동아시아 지역의 안보환경과 관련하여 불확실성과 불안정성을 가중시키는 중요한 요인으로 작용할 것이다. 따라서 지역 내의 군비 경쟁을 촉진시키는 요인으로 작용할 것이다.

  • 최근 중국과 인도는 공유하천인 야루짱부(중국명: 아로장포(雅魯藏布), 인도명:Brahmaputra)강 유역 내 수력발전용 댐 건설을 놓고 갈등 중이다. 발단은 중국이 2010년 9월에 정식으로 착공한 짱무수력발전댐(장목수전참(藏木水電站))의 건설이다. 총길이 3,848km, 유역면적 71만여 $km^2$인 야루짱부강은 중국과 인도, 방글라데시, 부탄 4개국이 공유하고 있다. 야루짱부강의 발원지는 히말라야 산맥 북쪽 기슭의 지에마양쫑 빙하(걸마앙종(杰馬央宗) 빙천(冰川))이고 중국내 길이가 2,057km에 달한다. 강은 중국의 씨짱(서장(西藏))지역, 인도의 아루나찰 프라데시(Arunachal Pradesh)주와 아쌈(Assam)주를 경유하여 부탄, 방글라데시로 흐른다. 야루짱부강은 티베트로 잘 알려진 시짱자치구에서 발원하여 중국과 인도의 영토 분쟁지역인 아루나찰 프라데시주를 관통함으로 인해 지정학적으로 중요한 의미를 갖고 있다. 짱무수력발전댐은 시짱 지역 최대 수력개발댐으로, 인도와 방글라데시는 중국의 댐 건설로 인해 자국의 수자원의 감소와 생태계 파괴가 발생할 것을 우려하고 있다. 그러나 최근 중국과 인도의 관방은 이 같은 우려를 부인하며 인도의 아루나찰 연방당국 또한 5개 주요 지류에 1,750MW 규모의 수력발전댐을 건설할 계획을 발표하였다. 이와 같이 수력발전댐 건설과 수자원확보를 놓고 중국과 인도가 팽팽하게 경쟁하게 된 데는 중국과 인도 간의 역내 힘겨루기와 자국 내 정치적 이해, 영토분쟁지역의 존재 등이 원인으로 작용하고 있다. 본 연구는 중국의 짱무수력발전댐(장목수전참(藏木水電站)) 건설원인을 중국정부가 가진 시짱지역관리 및 개발의 필요성에서 찾고 짱무수력발전댐(장목수전참(藏木水電站)) 건설에 드러난 중국의 표면적, 내재적 의도의 분석을 통해 중국의 공유하천 접근 방식의 특징과 원인을 규명하였다. 발원지에 위치한 중국이 수자원확보경쟁에서 유리한 입장을 점하고 있는 가운데 중국에 비해 상대적으로 정치적, 경제적 열세에 놓인 하류국가들은 공유하천의 동등하게 이용할 권리를 쟁취하기 위해 필요한 협상력을 갖고 있지 못하다. 따라서 하류국가들은 중국의 의도를 파악하여 이를 토대로 적절한 대안을 마련해야 할 필요성이 있다. 중국의 공유하천접근방식의 원인과 특징에 대한 분석은 남북통일 후 중국과 하천을 공유하게 될 우리나라에 시사하는 바가 클 것이라 생각된다.

An Analysis on Competitive Advantage by Types of Vessel between Korea and China in the EU Market (한중 간 조선산업 선종별 경합도 분석)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze competition status of Korean and Chinese vessels in the EU market. To achieve this purpose, this study uses Market Share Index, Export Bias Index, Trade Specialization Index, Export Similarity Index, and Market Share Expansion Ratio-Export Similarity Deepening Ratio as analyzing method. The statistical data used in this study are obtained from the trade statistics for 5 years(2005-2009) produced by Korean International Trade Association. The results of this study show that Korean ships are less competitive than Chinese ones in the EU export market in that Korea does not export various kinds of ships but export some restricted kinds of vessels even in the competitive ship, implying that Korea has been gradually losing its competitiveness. These results suggest that Korea should improve the competitiveness of shipbuilding industry by pursuing such differentiated strategies as exporting high value-added vessels while keeping on maintaining Korea's dominance over its competitive ships to overcome China's competitive advantage in the EU region.

A Study of The Influential Factors of Efficiency in Korean and Chinese Banks (한국과 중국 은행산업의 효율성 영향요인에 관한 실증분석)

  • This study have done comparative analysis of Korean banks' restructure and Chinese banks' reformation, especially derives main factors that influence existence and improvement of competitiveness of Korean banks. The study measured effectiveness of 15 Chinese banks and 13 Korean banks, and conducted empirical analysis of what are the factors affect the efficiency of banks. The result and implication are as follow. First, Korean commercial banks' efficiency is higher than banks in China, but Chinese commercial banks are getting better every year. Second, as the factors affect efficiency of the banks, it shows that the scale of bank, asset reliabilities, ownership structure and financial performance are significant. Third, about the factors affect efficiency, the ownership structure, financial intermediation ratio, and the health of the assets are significant in Chinese banks. Fourth, about the factors affect efficiency, the financial performance and asset reliability are significant in Korean banks. Based on the results, we have identified current problems of Chinese and Korean banks, and also pointed out Korean banks and Government how to improve competitiveness of Bank industry.

  • 본 연구는 중국의 WTO 가입 이후 시장규모 확대에 따라 동북아지역 국가들이 자국의 역할 선점과 경쟁력 확보를 위해 취하고 있는 항공화물운송부문의 시설운영과 전략추진 방향을 살펴봄으로써 우리나라의 항공 화물 운송 산업이 보다 경쟁력 있는 산업으로 역할과 제 기능을 다 할 수 있도록 하는데 목적이 있다. 장래 동북아지역 한 · 중 · 일 3국간 항공화물운송부문의 경쟁은 치열할 것으로 예상되는 반면, 국가 간 협력체제 구축도 필요한 시점이다. 지난 몇 년 동안 3국간은 협력체제 구축을 논의했지만, 가시적인 성과가 없는 현 시점에서 보면 보다 전향적인 발상을 기반으로 하는 접근방식이 필요할 것으로 판단된다. 역내운송의 완전 자유화 특히, 항공화물운송 자유화나 공항 운영 주체들 간 지역 내 제휴를 검토해 볼 필요가 있다. 이와 함께 중국, 일본 등의 공항과 항공화물 운송정보 공유, 기술개발과 표준화, 인적교류, 항공사 유치의 공동노력 등과 같은 제휴를 통해 역내 공항 네트워크를 구축하기 위한 방안은 반드시 협의되고, 추진될 필요가 있는 사안이다. 우리 내부적으로는 21세기를 대비한 보다 구체적이고 실천적인 항공화물운송부문의 ‘master plan' 수립과 함께 항공화물운송 주체인 항공사, 화주, 포워더 등 이용자 중심의 비용절감 방안과 항공화물 기반시설의 차질 없는 추진, 항공화물 정보화 등 편리하고 저렴한 운송체계와 처리절차를 수립이 요구된다.

A Competitiveness Analysis of the Logistic Hub Cities in China (중국 물류거점도시의 경쟁력 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyse the comparative competitiveness of the 10 major logistic hub cities in China. First, using the input distance function, we calculated the technical efficiencies and the opportunity costs of the transport infra structure investments. Then, based on not only these supply side factors but also demand side, the overall comparative competitiveness by cities are analyzed. Our main findings are as follows: early developed, larger cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen are technically efficient but their opportunity costs of the additional transport investments are higher than the other cities. We also found that overall competitiveness of these larger and leading logistic hub cities are dominant over the small and newly developed logistic cities.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze widely how the higher education of China introduced market mechanism, adjusted and changed its structure, and what is its characteristic today. The market-orientedness of China's higher education has been strengthened as the direction of Chinese socialism was converted to the improvement of productivity and Socialist's Market Economy proceeded. It developed gradually from the experimental stage of the introduction of market economy, through its real introduction stage and the stage of strengthening of market-orientedness, and finally to the deepening and development stage. Through these processes, China's higher education has got the characteristic of market-orientedness. It is being improved for the strengthening of autonomy, privatization, and raising of competitiveness and has China's unique local trait.

Competitiveness and Cooperation of Logistics Industry in Northeast Asia (한.중.일 물류산업 경쟁력과 물류협력방안)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the competitiveness of the logistics industry of three countries - Korea, China and Japan - by looking into their logistics industry structure and the related regulations. For this aim, the paper examined the modal distribution of transportation, transport infrastructure, freight cost structure and regulation in transport sector in these countries. Furthermore, this study suggests some proposals for the further cooperation to bring sustainable progress in the logistics sector across Northeast Asia. The main suggestions of this paper are as follows: First, Korean government needs to strategize its options in the logistics industry, the most competitive in the country’s service sector, in upcoming FTA negotiations with China and Japan. Second, Korea needs to foster Busan into a strategic point for the Rail Ferry System and Road Feeder System. Third, Korea should participate in establishing shuttle flight service in Northeast Asia amid exploding flight demand from active economic interchange and tourism industry development.
