  • In this paper, we aimed to analysis EEG signals related to concentration of adolescents using letter visual stimulus to induce the concentration. The visual stimulus tasks were searching errors of propositional particle in several sentences. In the EEG signals, we specially focussed on SMR waves and mid-beta waves according to the results of a preceding research. Therefore we presented position of channel and frequency band of mid-beta significantly related to the concentration waves as the experimental results.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of emotion and EEG of people with mental illness by vocational rehabilitation program based on horticultural therapy. The subjects of the study were three people with mental illness who were training in a vocational rehabilitation team at a health center located in G city, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The result of this study, positive affect increased and negative affect decreased. The result of EEG inspection was increased 17.27% on pre test to 21.39% on post test for Theta wave and 39.66% on pre test to 49.02% on post test for Alpha wave in case of subject A. Also Beta wave was decreased 27.53% on pre test to 17.54% on post test. Subject B increased Alpha wave 29.70% on pre to 31.82% on post. Subject C increased Alpha wave 26.30% on pre to 49.42% on post. Beta wave decreased 29.85% on pre to 16.13% on post. Theta wave, when creatively idea or thought occurs, alpha wave when safety and focusing was increased and beta wave when stress, tension and anxiety was decreased. As a result of profits analysis, subject A spent cost a total of 101,700 won for material and achieve profits of 203,400 won by setting a sales price. Therefore, gain the 101,700 won of net revenue. Subject B spent cost a total of 81,000 won for material and achieve profits of 162,000 won by setting a sales price. Therefore, gain the 81,000 won of net revenue. Subject C spent cost a total of 56,200 won for material and achieve profits of 112,400 won by setting a sales price. Therefore, gain the 56,200 won of net revenue.

  • The purpose of this study is to observe the changes of EEG signals in the process for solving the problems in concentration. In the experiments, subjects were given two tasks. The first task is to memorize the words after they used their own smart phone for ordinary commercial games and the second task is to memorize the words after they read a page of a p-book. In this paper, we present SMR waves and mid-beta waves to analyze from the EEG signals of the subjects because the waves are the EEG components related to concentration of human.

  • In this paper, we aimed to analysis EEG signals related to the relativity between musical stimuli and human brain activity for the arithmetical calculation and present the experimental results. We use two kinds of musical stimuli, one is a sedative tendency music and the other is a stimulative tendency music. The SMR wave and Mid-beta wave are analyzed because of the concentration. In our results, the sedative tendency music is not more interfere with human brain activity for the arithmetical calculations than the stimulative tendency music.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of resilience on information processing. Thirty-nine male high school students were randomly selected and assigned to one of the three experimental groups: (1) high group (n = 13), (2) middle group (n = 13) and low group (n = 13) according to their resilience scale (KRQ-53) scores. The tasks were simple reaction time, choice reaction time-1, and choice reaction time -2. Electroencephalogram (EEG) was measured at Fp1, Fp2, F3, F4, Fz, Cz and Pz. A 3 × 8 × 4 (groups × areas × times) ANOVA with repeated measures on the last factor was calculated to determine resilience effects on EEG. P300 was analyzed using a 3 × 3 × 8 (groups × tasks × areas) ANOVA. The results showed that the theta waves of the middle group were higher than those of the high and low groups. Second, as a result of analyzing alpha waves, the high group demonstrated higher alpha waves than the middle and low groups. Third, the mid-beta waves of the middle and low groups were higher than those of the high group. Lastly, the result of this study showed that the P300 amplitude of the middle group was higher than that of the high and low groups. These results indicated that the middle group processed cognitive information more efficiently than the other two groups. The findings of this study demonstrated that cognitive information processing ability varies depending on the degree of resilience.

  • In this paper, we presented the results of analysis through EEG measurement for the purpose of checking the frequency band of EEG signals that can be used for personal authentication. The measurement status was divided into the open-eye state and the closed-eye state depending on the presence or absence of an optical task. The data measured in the EEG experiments was divided into seven frequency bands : delta waves, theta waves, alpha waves, SMR waves, mid-beta waves, beta waves and gamma waves to identify the frequency band with the smallest power fluctuation over time. In our results, there was no significant difference between the open-eye state and the closed-eye state, and the SMR waves and mid-beta waves related to human concentration had the smallest fluctuation in power over time, and were a highly reproducible frequency band.

  • It has been known that the particular brain waves are induced when a human concentrates. In our study, we aimed to analysis the brain waves related to human concentration using visual stimulus to induce the concentration. The visual stimulus tasks were presented to subjects for concentration. We measured EEG signals with several channels and analyzed the signals into several frequency bands. In the measured EEG signals, we analyzed to focus on theta waves, SMR waves and mid-beta waves. Therefore we presented the results to investigate characteristics of the EEG signals related to the human concentration.

  • This study examined the change in the attention of University students after being given Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS). The participants were divided randomly into two group (tDCS vs. Control). tDCS was applied to 37 university students ($23.08{\pm}3.33years$). The tDCS group was applied 2 mA, for 13 minutes twice over a 26 minute period ($n_1=19$). The control ($n_2=18$) was not applied after padding and was applied twice for 13 minutes over a 26 minute period. This study was conducted from September 3 to 28, 2018 and three times a week for a total of four weeks. The electroencephalogram was confirmed to affect attention. tDCS showed significant improvement in the results in the sensory motor rhythm wave (p<0.01, 95% CI: -1.955, -0.459), middle beta wave (p<0.05; 95% CI: 0.027, 0.943), and power ratio (p<0.01, 95% CI: -1.764, -0.315). The results showed that tDCS application increased the attention ability significantly. These results can be applied to attention deficit disorder (ADHD) patients and college students.
