Study on the Evaluation Method of Autonomous Vehicle Driving Ability Based on Virtual Reality (가상환경 기반 자율주행 운전능력 평가방안 연구)

  • Following the fatal accident of pedestrians caused by Autonomous Vehicle by Uber, the world's largest ride-hailing company, two people were killed in a self-driving car accident by Tesla in April. There is a need to ensure the safety of road users. Accordingly, in order to secure the safety of Autonomous Vehicle driving, it is necessary to evaluate Autonomous Vehicle driving technologies in various situations based on the road and traffic environment in which the Autonomous vehicle will actually drive. Therefore, this study used UC-win/Road ver.14.0 based on general driver's license test questions to present a virtual reality-based Autonomous Vehicles driving ability evaluation tool among various driving ability test method. Based on this, it was intended to test driving ability for unexpected situations in complex and diverse driving environments, and to confirm its practical applicability as an optimal tool for Autonomous vehicle ability test and evaluation.

  • 본 논문 만타형 무인잠수정을 이용한 실해역 자율주행 성능시험에 관한 내용을 다룬다. 만타형의 개발을 위해서 6자유도 운동방정식에 대한 시뮬레이션을 실시하였으며, 시뮬레이션 결과를 바탕으로 만타형 무인잠수정을 개발하여 실해역에서 성능시험을 실시하였다. 실해역 자율주행 시험은 가시선 방법(LOS, Line of Sight)방법을 이용하였으며, 제어에는 PD 제어기를 사용하였다. 목표반경을 10m로 하였을 때, 설정된 좌표로 이동하는 것을 확인하였다.

Development & Test of A Small-Sized Autonomous Underwater Vehicle "BOTO" (소형 자율무인잠수정 "BOTO"의 개발 및 실험)

  • Samsung Thales has developed a small-sized autonomous underwater vehicle "BOTO" verified by a mathematical model simulation. The hydrodynamic coefficients and drag force were experimented at circulating water channel for validating cruising performance of the AUV. Based on the mathematical model, we simulated turning radius and way-point tracking on horizontal plane using way-point tracking algorithm. In this paper we introduce the vehicle system and the sea trial test results will be shown.

Analysis of BWIM Signal Variation Due to Different Vehicle Travelling Conditions Using Field Measurement and Numerical Analysis (수치해석 및 현장계측을 통한 차량주행조건에 따른 BWIM 신호 변화 분석)

  • Bridge Weigh-in-Motion(BWIM) system calculates a travelling vehicle's weight without interruption of traffic flow by analyzing the signals that are acquired from various sensors installed in the bridge. BWIM system or data accumulated from the BWIM system can be utilized to development of updated live load model for highway bridge design, fatigue load model for estimation of remaining life of bridges, etc. Field test with moving trucks including various load cases should be performed to guarantee successful development of precise BWIM system. In this paper, a numerical simulation technique is adopted as an alternative or supplement to the vehicle traveling test that is indispensible but expensive in time and budget. The constructed numerical model is validated by comparison experimentally measured signal with numerically generated signal. Also vehicles with various dynamic characteristics and travelling conditions are considered in numerical simulation to investigate the variation of bridge responses. Considered parameters in the numerical study are vehicle velocity, natural frequency of the vehicle, height of entry bump, and lateral position of the vehicle. By analyzing the results, it is revealed that the lateral position and natural frequency of the vehicle should be considered to increase precision of developing BWIM system. Since generation of vehicle travelling signal by the numerical simulation technique costs much less than field test, a large number of test parameters can effectively be considered to validate the developed BWIM algorithm. Also, when artificial neural network technique is applied, voluminous data set required for training and testing of the neural network can be prepared by numerical generation. Consequently, proposed numerical simulation technique may contribute to improve precision and performance of BWIM systems.

  • 사물 인터넷, 클라우드 컴퓨팅, 인공지능, 빅데이터 등 첨단 정보통신기술을 활용하여 모든 사물들의 지능화와 초연결을 지향하는 것을 나타내는 4차 산업혁명에 대한 관심은 나날이 증가하고 있다. 4차 산업혁명과 관련된 다양한 분야의 기술들 중에서 인공지능을 활용한 자율주행자동차 기술과 관련하여 논의를 진행하고자 한다. 여러 국가에서는 자율주행자동차 시장선점을 위해 관련 기술의 발달에 몰두하고 있다. 그러나 자율주행자동차의 상용화를 위해서는 기술의 발달뿐만 아니라 관련 법제도의 정비가 더욱 필수적인 요소라고 본다. 자율주행자동차가 안전성을 보장할 수 있도록 시험운행에 대한 규제를 완화시켜야 할 것이며, 향후 상용화가 될 경우 야기될 수 있는 민사적 손해배상문제와 형사책임의 문제, 과실책임의 문제, 사이버 보안문제 등을 대비할 수 있는 법제도 마련을 촉구하고자 한다. 타국가와의 자율주행자동차 법제도 비교분석을 통해 우리나라의 도로교통법과 기존 법 제정상태를 고려하여 법안 마련에 방향성을 설정하는 데에 목표를 두고 있다.

The Reduction Rate of $CO_2$ with Fuel-cut Region Painting on the Road (퓨얼컷 구간 도로표시에 따른 $CO_2$ 배출 저감율)

  • 자동차 주행 시 엔진회전수가 1,500rpm 이상이고 주행속도가 50km/hr 이상의 조건에서 가속 페달을 밟지 않은 상태로 관성주행(타행주행)을 하면 연료분사량이 "0"이 되고 그에 따라 엔진 배출 $CO_2$ 배출량도 "0"이 된다. 본 연구에서는 고속도로 및 자동차 전용도로에서의 이러한 연료차단(퓨얼컷 fuel-cut) 주행 구간을 찾고 연료차단 기능을 활용하는 경우 그 효과를 평가하였다. 본 시험의 결과 퓨얼컷 주행을 활용하면 약 4~5% 정도의 $CO_2$ 배출량을 줄일 수 있음을 알 수 있었고, 감속의 정도를 도로 상황에 맞게 최적화하는 경우 감소율을 더욱 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 추후 본 시험의 결과를 이용하여 도로 내리막 구간에서 연료소모량 및 $CO_2$ 배출량을 저감하면서도 과속으로 인한 사고를 예방하는 방안으로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 주)태양금속에서 고속화차 용접구조형 대차를 채택하여 화차론 제작하였는데 한국철도기술연구원에서는 대차의 구조강도론 검증하기 위해 구조해석을 시행한 후 스트레인게이지를 실재 대차에 장착하여 정하중 시험을 시행하였고 또한 진동가속도계를 차체 및 대차프레임에 장착하여 주행안전성과 관련된 진동성능시험을 시행하였다. 본 논문은 새로 개발된 용접구조형 대차 및 이를 장착한 화차에 대해 대차프레임의 강도 검증과 화차의 안정성 여부를 판단하기 위한 시험을 시행한 결과에 대한 내용이다.(중략)

Running Stability Assessment of a Railway Vehicle using Roller Rig Test (주행시험대 시험을 이용한 철도차량의 주행안정성 평가 방법 고찰)

  • In the design process of dynamic characteristics of a railway vehicle, demand for analysis, testing and estimation methods of running stability are increasing as railway vehicle speed is increasing. Critical speed tests and estimation have been carried out using computer simulation or special test facilities, like roller rigs, because real track testing at critical speed is very dangerous. This paper introduces a test and assessment method for critical speed and estimates the validity using several roller rig tests. The test results show that it is difficult to estimate the critical speed using safety and instability assessment method in UIC 518, but that there is good agreement between the reduction of the equivalent damping ratio and the critical speed.

Assessment of the Running Resistance of a High-speed Train Using a Coasting Test (타행 시험을 이용한 고속열차 주행저항 평가)

  • The resistance to motion of the Korean next-generation high-speed train (HEUM-430X) was assessed on the basis of 12 coasting test runs at coasting speeds up to approximately 380km/h. Two different methods, a linear regression method and a time-integral method, were employed to calculate decelerations from the time-velocity data and the time-distance data, respectively, and an equation of resistance to motion was devised from the deceleration data calculated at each time section. The effect of an improvement of the aerodynamic shape on the resistance to motion was investigated, with the results showing that the running resistance was reduced by about 15% due to these improvements. An increase of approximately 28% of the running resistance was also noted when running in a tunnel relative to running through an open field.

A Study on the Curving Performance of a Scaled Bogie on a Scaled Curve Track (축소 곡선 트랙상에서의 축소 대차 곡선주행특성 연구)

  • The performance of the railway bogie is classified into the stability and the steering performance. Testing for the bogie stability is conducted on the roller rig, but testing for the bogie steering performance on test facility is very difficult, so the testing for the vehicle curving performance is conducted on the real curve track. Testing the railway bogie on the full scale test rig is desirable, but it caused many problems relating to test costs and test time. As a possible alternative to overcome these problems, a small scaled test rig is actively used in the field of bogie stability. Thus, in this paper, we have studied a scaled track to test the bogie steering performance. For this purpose, we designed the 1/5 scaled test track equivalent to radius 200 curve and confirmed the validity of the testing for the bogie steering performance on the sealed curve track through the testing using 1/5 scaled bogie.
