In this paper, we analyze the characteristics for the driving shock resistance of the military vehicle through the bump test. Prior to the experiment, theoretical analysis was performed by using the SRS(shock response spectrum) and VRS(vibration response spectrum) analysis method. And we estimated the characteristics for the driving shock resistance of the military vehicle. Bump test was performed using the acceleration sensor and the driving test at a different speed. We evaluated the characteristics for the driving shock resistance of the military vehicle based on the result. And predicted values were compared with the theoretical analysis. In addition, we evaluated the results of the theoretical prediction of the SRS and the VRS analysis. And we evaluate the suitability of the prediction method at military vehicle shock analysis.

The cables in cable-stayed bridges are under high stress and are very sensitive to vibration due to their small section areas compared with other members. Therefore, it is reasonable to evaluate the cable impact factor by taking into account the dynamic effect due to moving-vehicle motion. In this study, the cable impact factors were evaluated via moving-vehicle-load analysis, considering the design parameters, i.e., vehicle weight, cable model, road surface roughness, vehicle speed, longitudinal distance between vehicles. For this purpose, two steel composite cable-stayed bridges with 230- and 540-m main spans were selected. The results of the analysis were then compared with those of the influence line method that is currently being used in design practice. The road surface roughness was randomly generated based on ISO 8608, and the convergence of impact factors according to the number of generated road surfaces was evaluated to improve the reliability of the results. A9-d.o.f. tractor-trailer vehicle was used, and the vehicle motion was derived from Lagrange's equation. 3D finite element models for the selected cable-stayed bridges were constructed with truss elements having equivalent moduli for the cables, and with beam elements for the girders and the pylons. The direct integration method was used for the analysis of the bridge-vehicle interaction, and the analysis was conducted iteratively until the displacement error rate of the bridge was within the specified tolerance. It was acknowledged that the influence line method, which cannot consider the dynamic effect due to moving-vehicle motion, could underestimate the impact factors of the end-cables at the side spans, unlike moving-vehicle-load analysis.

The axle weight of a vehicle in motion can be measured with a low-speed or high-speed weigh-in-motion (WIM). However, the axial load dynamically change depending on the vehicle's characteristics-such as the chassis or axle structure-or the characteristics of the driving environment such as road flatness. The changes in dynamic load lead to differences between the vehicle's weight measured at rest and the vehicle's weight measured in motion. For this Study, an experiment was conducted with an instrumented vehicle to analyze the range of errors caused by uncontrollable environmental factors by identifying the characteristics of the dynamic load changes of a vehicle in motion, and determine the appropriate scale for the accuracy evaluation of a high-speed WIM, as a preparatory research for the introduction of unmanned overweight enforcement systems in the future. The key findings from the experiment are summarized as follows. First, The gross weight of the tested vehicle changed by approximately 1% at low velocities and approximately by 4% at high velocities, and the vehicle's axle weight changed by approximately 1-3%, at low velocities and by 2-9% at high velocities. A single axle showed larger weight changes than individual axles in a group. Secondly, The vehicle's gross weight and the axle weight on the impact section were up to eight times and three-to-twelve times higher, respectively, than its gross weight and the axle weight on the flat section. The vibration frequency of the vehicle's dynamic load was measured at between 2.4 and 5.8Hz, and found to return to the normal amplitude after moving approximately 30 meters.

In this study, dynamic serviceability of PSC, PreStressed Concrete, simple railway bridge with 25m span was estimated. All of the high speed and general train loads were considered at estimation. Natural frequency is estimated about 8Hz and includes within optimum natural frequency extent of the railway bridge. Also, the bridge was detected that resonance occurrence possibility does not exist. When travel the Moogunghwa train, acceleration response was measured to 0.43g that exceed limitation value 0.35g. Also, rotation angle of girders end did not satisfy design standard of railway bridge for high speed train, but impact coefficient and deflection satisfied design standard. As a result, that railway bridge was detected that is securing dynamic safety and serviceability partially, but methods to decrease vibration acceleration response are required.

When a train enters the tunnel at high speed, the pressure wave occurs. When this pressure wave reaches at the exit of tunnel, some are either emitted to the outside or reflected in tunnel by the form of expansion wave. The wave emitted to the outside forms the impulsive pressure wave. This wave is called 'Micro Pressure Wave'. The micro pressure wave generates noise and vibration around a exit portal of tunnel. When it becomes worse, it causes anxiety for residents and damage to windows. Thus, it requires a counterplan and prediction about the micro pressure wave for high speed railway construction. In this paper, the effects of train head nose and tunnel portal shape were investigated by model test, measurement for the micro pressure wave at the operating tunnel as well as numerical analysis for the gradient of pressure wave in the tunnel. As results, a method for predicting the intensity of the micro pressure wave is suggested and then the intensity of the micro pressure wave is analyzed by the tunnel length and the cross-sectional area.
Soil-steel structures have been used for the underpass, or drainage systems in the road embankment. This type of structures sustain external load using the correlations with the steel wall and engineered backfill materials. Buried flexible conduits made of corrugated steel plates for the coastal road was tested under vehicle loading to investigate the effects of live load. Testing conduits was a circular structure with a diameter of 6.25m. Live-load tests were conducted on two sections, one of which an attempt was made to reinforce the soil cover with the two layers of geo-gird. Hoop fiber strains of corrugated plate, normal earth pressures exerted outside the structure, and deformations of structure were instrumented during the tests. This paper describes the measured static and dynamic load responses of structure. Wall thrust by vehicle loads increased mainly at the crown and shoulder part of the conduit. However additional bending moment by vehicle loads was neglectable. The effectiveness of geogrid-reinforced soil cover on reducing hoop thrust is also discussed based on the measurements in two sections of the structure. The maximum thrusts at the section with geogrid-reinforced soil cover was 85-92% of those with un-reinforced soil cover in the static load tests of the circular structure; this confirms the beneficial effect of soil cover reinforcement on reducing the hoop thrust. However, it was revealed that the two layers of geogrid had no effect on reducing the overburden pressure at the crown level of structure. The obtained values of DLA decrease approximately in proportion to the increase in soil cover from 0.9m to 1.5m. These values are about 1.2-1.4 times higher than those specified in CHBDC.

When the train enters into a tunnel a high speed, pressure waves are generated inside the tunnel. The pressure waves at propagate in a form of compression wave toward the tunnel exit and a fraction of the compression waves that arrives at the exit of the tunnel are discharged to outside of the tunnel and the remainder is reflected into the tunnel as expansion waves. The compression waves emitted from the tunnel does not radiate in a specific direction but in all directions. If the amplitude of the compression wave is great, it causes noise and vibration, and it is called "Micro-Pressure Wave." "Micro-Pressure Wave" must be considered as a decision for the optimum tunnel cross-section as the amplitude of the compression wave depends on train speed, tunnel length, area of tunnel and train. Therefore, this paper introduces the case study of Micro-Pressure Wave characteristics for determination of tunnel cross section in Honam high speed railway, the pressure inside the tunnel and the micro-pressure waves at tunnel exit were measured at Hwashin 5 tunnel in Kyungbu HSR line. At the same time. a test of train operation model was performed and then the measurement results and test results were compared to verify that the various parameters used as input conditions for the numerical simulations, which were appropriate. Also a model test was performed, in order to analysis of the Micro-Pressure Wave Mitigation Performance by Type of Hood at Entrance Portal.
