  • Most of campus vehicle management systems, so far, have simple functions such as managing vehicle in/out or issuing parking tickets. Recently some of them use RFID tags to count total numbers of cars in the campus, excluding exact parking position management. In this paper we propose a new campus vehicle management system using wireless sensor network location management scheme. This system adopts RSSI based location management method with some performance improvement technique. According to the experimental result, this proposed scheme can be used to implement an effective campus vehicle management system.

  • With the development of IT and digital camera technology, diverse applications of image processing services are becoming available. In this paper, in order to ultimately automate parking management system, we designed and implemented a system for recognizing vehicle license plates that show vehicles' unique numbers by using EmguCV which shows optimized performance on Intel-based environment.   • As the number of vehicles has been sharply increases, the significance of safety and effective operation issues in the parking lot is being emphasized, which takes a part of the transportation system. Recently, there have been several studies for the parking management by detecting moving object, however, recognizing numbers of fast-moving vehicles simultaneously in the picture is still a challenging problem. The parking lot in public area, or large-sized buildings has clear parking section, whereas the sensor system is configured to monitor a plurality of parking spaces. Therefore, by considering those parking lots, we suggested to develop the real-time parking availability information system by applying the real-time image processing techniques. with the help of template matching. Following the study, we wanted to provide the alternative method for parking management system through the reference template makers by recognizing movements of parked vehicles with the size and shape, regardless of direct detecting of driving movements. In addition, we evaluated the applicability and performances of the information system, presented in this study, and implemented a prototype system to simulate the parking statuses of each floor. In fat, it was possible to manage and analyze statistics about the total number of parking spaces and the number of vehicles parked through real-time video flames. We expected that the result of the study will be advanced, following the user-friendliness and cost reduction in operating parking management system and giving information by efficient analysis of parking situation.

  • One way to increase public revenue from public parking spaces is by improving the way parking meters gather data. Improved parking meters have evolved that increase car park revenue as well as efficiency in service and operations. It provides parking meters with the capacity to provide real-time information. This information consist primarily of the status of parking spaces (it indicates which expired metered spaces have parked vehicles.) The technology consists of sensors located at meters that report on their condition (i.e. whether it is working or if it is expired). This information is processed by a microprocessor and then sent via an internal wireless modem to the server. This server then processes the information from all the parking meters and sends it to the public institution in charge of them. This system also provides verification of parking permits. For example, disabled people with special license plates can be automatically approved for parking in designated places.

  • As the use of shared electric kickboards is rapidly increasing, there are many cases of illegal parking of shared mobility. In order to solve this problem, local governments are taking measures such as towing illegally parked shared electric kickboards, but user management is not considered and the methods are inefficient. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a blockchain-based shared electric kickboard user management model. The shared electric kickboard is equipped with a camera sensor and GPS that can check the parking status, and when the user ends the use of the shared electric kickboard, information on the parking status is collected through the installed sensors and the shared electric kickboard company You can check if the user has parked correctly. In addition, trust points are given according to the user's parking history and incentives are provided according to the trust points, inducing users to return the shared evangelism kickboard correctly. The information is shared through the consortium blockchain in which shared electric kickboard companies participate, enabling integrated user management of shared electric kickboard companies.

Determining the Components of Residential Parking Permint Program (거주자우선주차제의 시행전략)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 설문조사를 통해 주민들이 실정에 맞는 거주자우선주차제의 실행 요건을 결정하는데 있다. 연구의 구성은 제2장에서 거주자우선주차제의 이론적 배경을 검토 하고, 제3장에서는 실행요건의 결정을 위한 연구분석의 틀을 제시하며, 제4장에서는 설문조 사의 방법과 조사내용에 대한 분석결과를 제시한다. 마지막으로 제5장에서는 결론과 정책건 의로 맺음한다. 이론적으로 분석결과 거주자우선주차제는 주차수요관리와 주차장공급촉진이 라는 2원적인 목표를 내재하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그결과 허가요금, 시행시간대 등의 실 행요건을 결정하는데 있어서 다양한 외부요인들을 고려하여야 할 필요가 있으며, 외부요인 들은 거주자들의 사회경제적 특성, 주거환경적특성, 주차행태적 특성, 기타특성 들로 구성된 다. 실행요건을 결정하기 위해 주민들에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였고 그 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 요금수준 결정시 차고지 공급 목적일 경우 높은 수준의 요금을 부과하되 지역적 소득수준을 감안 하여야 하며, 목적이 수요관리에 있을 때는 외부인에 대한 규제만 하면 되 기 때문에 주민들에게는 무료이거나 가능한 낮은 요금을 징수하는 것이 바람직하다. 2) 공 간적 범위는 주민들의 근거리주차 선호 때문에 블록단위 또는 세가로를 중심으로 시행하되, 집앞돌폭이 4m 미만이거나 8m 이상일 경우에는 공간적 범위를 넓게 잡는 것이 바람직 할 것이다. 3) 주차면 배정은 독점적 사용권을 부여하는 방식이 공공재의 사유화라는 부작용 및 주차면의 비효율적 사용이라는 측면이 있기 때문에 가능한 공동이용방식을 채용함이 바 람직 한 것으로 나타났다. 4) 외부인 주처허가는 전용주택가 지역에서는 허용하여도 그리 큰 문제는 없을 것이나, 외부인 주차수요가 많은 지역에서는 무조건적 허락보다는 요금지불, 주차확인증과 같은 제도적 보완을 통해 허용해야 한다. 5) 시행시간대 결정시 전용주거지역 에서는 야간만 실시하여도 문제가 없으나 그외 지역에서는 주차수요를 고려하여 주간 또는 전일로 시행할 필요가 있다. 특히 주차문제가 하루종일 발생하는 경우와 출퇴근시 주차문제 가 많은 곳에서는 하루종일 시행할 필요가 있다. 그러나 차고지 확보율이 지나치게 낮은 곳 에서는 야간시 주민반대에 부디칠 가능성이 크기 때문에 차고지 여건이 개선될 때 까지는 시행을 보류할 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • Recently route guiding system using GPS is spread widely. In the parking management system of complex mall, RFID is mainly used to control status of parking lots. However, in a case that a vehicle only with RFID tag enters into small market-populated district with service of parking lots, there is no parking route guiding system optimized with information of real tine status of parking lots and the system only with GPS can't provide a function of using real time status of parking lots. This paper proposes a location recognizing method of RFID tag object for parking control system to integrated several parking lots in the business district and database-linked route guiding system optimized for parking. The proposed location recognizing method makes the search of optimized parking route possible by abstracting decoding order of tag and antenna number and recognizing direction of tag linked with database. Ihe implemented system that is composed of RFID tag, reader, middleware, server, parking lot clients and mobile clients shows that the proposed method works well and it will be useful for integrated parking control system.

Efficient Parking Management through The Investigation of Car License Plate Using Camera (카메라를 이용한 차량 번호판 조사를 통한 효율적 주차 관리)

  • This research is to suggest a method for investigating car number plates among the information managed in parking facilities. The investigation of car number plate is generally used to know how long vehicles are parked. Also, it can provide the information about the parking turnover rate and the mean parking duration of parked vehicles. This research performs the investigation using cameras at a distance of time. That is, the given distance of time from cameras is assigned to each parked vehicle, and then it can find the mean parking time of parked vehicles. Also, it can check the parking turnover rate of parked vehicles at a space unit of parking lot in an hour. The information such as the mean parked duration and the parking turnover rate of parked vehicles taken from this method is helpful to find and understand the inefficient use of parking facilities. With this suggested method, this research attempted to check the mean parking duration and the parking turnover rate of parked vehicles.

  • Most researches in WSN-based parking management system used wireless sensors to monitor the events in a car parking area. However, the problem of car collisions in car parks was not discussed by previous researches. The car position details over time are vital in analyzing a collision event. This paper proposes a collision verification method to detect and to analyze the collision event in the parking area, and then notifies car owners. The detection uses the information from motion sensors for comprehensive details of position and direction of a moving car, and the verification processes an object tracking technique with a fast OBB intersection test. The performance tests show that the location technique is more accurate with additional sensors and the OBB collision test is faster compared to a normal OBB intersection test.

A Study on the Parking Supply and Management Strategics for Multi-Family Housing Sites (공동주택 주차공급 및 관리방안 연구)

  • The rate of automobile ownerships has been increased significantly in multi-family housing sites so that government has made new parking regulations increasing the rate of parking supply by the high demand of parking lots in multi-family housing sites. However, the new regulation of parking supply has several problems that it applies to only new multi-family housing sites and disregards to the locational distinctions around the sites. It also has reduced to the open spaces in the sites and increased the price of housing units especially to the small size units of multi-family housing sites by increasing the number of underground parking lots. Furthermore, the residents have not been equal opportunity to access their parking lots even though they have been charged to equal amount of financial burden for the construction of underground parking lots. This research aims to relieve above problems by analysing parking supply and demand management strategies both domestic and foreign countries, and suggest to new parking management system for multi-family housing sites in 21st Centuries. This research reveals that most of multi-family housing sites want to be applied 1) diverse parking supply regulations considering the locational distinctions of sites, 2) parking lot ownership programs, 3) charging parking fees to second vehicles, 4) increasing parking lots both in the sites and around the sites, 5) enforcing police power to the parking violation vehicles to their sites. Especially, the multi-family housing sites consisting of small & medium size of units and locating in small & medium size of cites strongly want to be accepted new Parking regulations considered their locational and social distinctions and applied police power to the parking violation vehicles in their sites compared to the other multi-family housing sites.
