This study experimented with automatic classification of subject headings using BERT-based transfer learning model, and analyzed its performance. This study analyzed the classification performance according to the main class of KDC classification and the category type of subject headings. Six datasets were constructed from Korean national bibliographies based on the frequency of the assignments of subject headings, and titles were used as classification features. As a result, classification performance showed values of 0.6059 and 0.5626 on the micro F1 and macro F1 score, respectively, in the dataset (1,539,076 records) containing 3,506 subject headings. In addition, classification performance by the main class of KDC classification showed good performance in the class General works, Natural science, Technology and Language, and low performance in Religion and Arts. As for the performance by the category type of the subject headings, the categories of plant, legal name and product name showed high performance, whereas national treasure/treasure category showed low performance. In a large dataset, the ratio of subject headings that cannot be assigned increases, resulting in a decrease in final performance, and improvement is needed to increase classification performance for low-frequency subject headings.

The purposes of this study are to examine the various methods of subject access in the rapidly changing environment and to suggest the future of subject access in National Library of Korea (NLK). First of all, current status and problems of Library of Congress Subject Headings List as an representative subject headings in the world and the ways of improving effectiveness of subject retrieval were dealt with. As the ways of improving subject access, social bookmarking, folksonomy, tagging, facet applications, automatic assignment of keyword, thesauri, classification system, and auto-assigned search box were suggested. Finally, current status of NLK subject headings and the ways of improving for utilization of the subject headings as subject access were provided.

This study was conducted to explore the effect of the type of dashboard on online group discussion activities based on learning analysis. The experimental research was conducted among 51 learners from a university by dividing them into 2 groups. Group A provided participation and interaction dashboard, and group B provided the discussion topics and message type dashboard. First, pre-tests were conducted on attitudes toward computer writing and the level of motivation that could affect online discussion activities. Then the students participated three different topics of online group discussions. The participation and interaction data were automatically collected through the dashboard, and learning outcome data were collected through post-tests. The results showed level of participation in Group B (M=47.56, SD=2.37) that provided discussion topics and message type dashboard was significantly higher than the level of participation in Group A (M=38.13, SD=2.21) that provided participation and interaction dashboard. On the other hand, there were no differences in the level of interaction and learning outcomes. In future studies, we suggest that the dashboard effects based on the learners' characteristics should be carried out because the learners' characteristics may affect the use of the dashboard.

This study aims to develop and evaluate the authority data-based academic retrieval system that may provide search tools and additional information for search of academic papers with users. To evaluate the usability of authority data-based academic paper search system, this work studied 60 subjects who had experienced the academic paper service to measure their satisfaction on both search efficiency and system usability and additionally analyzed whether the difference between search efficiency and system availability is significant in the experimental search system among user groups. As a result, the authority data-based academic paper search system was analyzed to show a higher search efficiency and user satisfaction than the ordinary system.
