  • The purpose of this study is to explore how the collectivism of Koreans has changed or has not changed. Through in-depth interviews and FGI with the older and new generations, keywords that express Korean collectivism today were discovered. First, the collectivism of Koreans is defined as 'selective collectivism', which is based on a more compact group consisting of self-selected members rather than a given group as before. Second, with the development of technology, online collectivism, in contrast to offline collectivism, emerged. Online collectivism is based on communication using online technology, and is characterized by horizontal relationship based on anonymity and 24-hour connectivity that transcends time and space. Third, the most important factor that composes Korean collectivism was found to be 'Cheong', which was recognized as an unchanged aspect of collectivism. Lastly, for Koreans, the group is closely related to self-identity, and for this reason, Koreans are obsessed with the sense of belonging to the group membership and the relationship with the members. The implications and limitations of the study were discussed.

  • Changes in visual sensitivity were investigated as a function of distance from the locus of attention. While a subject was fixating at a point on a frontal plane, one of the two attention inducing points placed horizontally and symmetrically 4。 apart from it was blinked and a target immediately followed at a location around the blinking dot. The subject's task was to decide and report whether the target was present or abscent. The rate of detection was the highest at the immediate vicinity of the locus of attention and decreased gradually as a function of the distance from it. Results of the experiments support the gradient model of attention-induced changes in visual sensitivity.

  • This article analyzes three major issues related to regional voting in South Korea. First, is regional voting a regional problem or an ideological problem? Second, is regional voting caused by regional identity or regional interest? Third, has regionalism waxed or waned? Analyses of the cumulative data set since the 15th presidential election yield the following results. First, Yongnam people are more conservative than Honam people. Second, regional voting consists of ideological and regional components. Third, there exist both a hometown effect and an abode effect in regional voting, but the latter is significantly greater than the former. Forth, regionalism had weakened between the 15th National Assembly election and the 16th Presidential election, but has not varied much since then.

  • The ethical problems related to climate changes have basically different character from the ethical problems which we have experienced until now. In order to approach ethical problems of climate changes for forseeing, mitigating and adapting many complicated situations which result from climate changes we should breake away from the point of anthropocentrism at first. Secondly, the education of the ethics of climate changes is very important in all levels of schools. It is very important and urgent to decide what and how we should teach. Finally, the sustainability has important role in the justification of why and what we should take actions against climate changes.

  • The purpose of this study to analysis the response pattern of the constructive instruction model that reflect constructivism learning theory for change on 6 science concepts. Specially, this study analyzes the constructive instruction model's effect among 3, 4, 5 years old and explain to the 6 scientific concepts that change from false response to correct response. The subjects are 34 public institution children who located in the Jinju city and was need to explain the scientific concepts. For the response pattern analysis of the this study is using scientific conceptual task on the function of ear and blood, the reason of thunder, typhoon, evaporation and ship's flotage. Conclusions that appear through result of constructivism activities effect on change of six scientific concepts and the constructive instruction's effect is more 5 year old than 3, 4 years old age.

  • This study aims to analyze the causes and results of the significant changes in the architecture of Japanese architect Kenzo Tange in the 1960s. For a new era and new architecture of Japan, Tange who has been successful in leading the early modern architecture of Japan. since the 1960s, proposed a structuralist approach, deviating from the existing functionalist tendencies that he has pursued. Therefore, in this paper, we examine what structural changes tend to be made in the post-1960s from the functionalist tendencies of the previous period, and what causes the changes to structuralist tendencies. In conclusion, rather than suggesting alternatives to deny the existing concept of functionalism, Tange's theory encompassed both functionalism and structuralism and achieved the effective reorganization of functions while complementing the disadvantages of existing functionalism through functional elements and their structuring.

  • The paper is analyzed the mathematics curriculum of Korea and the philosophy of the mathematics education in the history of mathematics education. We have found that the various philosophy of Western mathematics education have led us to various views of the mathematics curriculum of Korea. This change of the mathematics curriculum in Korea have important implications to the didactics of mathematics. This study tried to find out the direction of outlook on the mathematics education in the future.

  • In order that An agent acts activity that makes sense corresponding to a variety of event and behavior, attention maybe occur according to perception, personality and desire. As a result contexts are switched while this attention is changed. In this paper. We propose the processing algorithm of the attention and corresponding contexts to it that are switched.

  • Selective attention induces perceptual distortions. ranging from repulsion of objects located near the attended area(Suzuki & Cavanagh. 1997) to magnification of the u unattended objects (Tsal & Shalev. 1996). Two hypothetical mechanisms have been p postulated: a shift of receptive fields' positions away from the locus of attention(receptive-field-recruitment hypothesis) or the enlargement of perceived space around the a attended location(space-enlargement hypothesis). The present study distinguished between these hypotheses by investigating the spatial and temporal properties of attention-induced d distortions. Perceptual judgements on vernier alignment. line tilt. line length were used to measure attention-induced changes in perception. Attention was induced exogenously(by blinking a specific set of dots around the test stimuli} or endogenously(by instructing the subject to selectively attend the dots). After inducing attention. the test stimuli were briefly flashed. A staircase method was used to measure the attentional effect. A vertical line was perceived as repelled from the locus of attention. and a line segment appeared longer when attention was given to its vicinity. The effects decreased as the distance between the locus of attention or the time between the onset of attention and the stimulus presentation increased. The results imply that the space-enlargement hypothesis provides a better explanation for the attention-induced changes in perception than the receptive-field-recruitment hypothesis.
