A New XMPP/SIP Presence Service System by Multiple Servers Architecture (다중 서버 구조에 의한 새로운 XMPP/SIP 프레즌스 서비스 시스템)

  • Presence information provides various informations about users such as on-line status, current location, network connection method and connection address, and there are two kinds of presence information, SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) based presence information and XMPP(Extensible Massaging and Presence Protocol) based presence information. In this paper, a multiple server architecture that can handle these two kinds of presence information has been proposed. In this architecture, severs are added dynamically according to number of users to provide system scalability, and load of each server can be effectively controlled. In this system, a new XMPP stanza architecture and presence information data format are designed for load control. Furthermore message exchanging procedures between servers and users for dynamic server control has been also suggested. The performance of the proposed system has been analysed by simulation.

Packet Scheduling Scheme and Receiver-Based Recovery Scheme for MPTCP in Heterogeneous Networks (이종망에서 MPTCP를 위한 패킷 스케줄링 방법과 수신단 기반의 손실 복구 방법)

  • Multi network interface has become common phenomenon for mobile devices such as smart phone which has 3G, LTE-advanced, WiFi. Consequently, there are researches for a transmission strategies using multiple paths below on end-to-end connection. MPTCP which is proposed and being standardized by the IETF as a new transport protocol can perform concurrent multipath transfer using multiple network interfaces. However, current MPTCP has performance degradation when it use heterogeneous networks which have quite different network characteristics. Therefore, this paper proposes the packet scheduling scheme and receiver-based recovery scheme to reduce the performance degradation due to reordering problem. Also, simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve throughput and retransmission performance.

  • With the development of smart on-devices and communication technology, demand for non-stop services is increasing. Therefore, the high availability for continuously providing services in the event of system failure has been spotlighted. Meanwhile, because most internet-based services are provided by using TCP, an efficient TCP session recovery technique for providing non-stop services is required. However, the existing TCP session recovery techniques are inefficient because it has a high recovery cost or does not support failover operation, To solve these problems, in this paper, we propose a TCP session recovery technique for high availability in smart on-devices. For this, we first recover the TCP session without re-establish the TCP session by correcting a sequence number and a acknowledgment number. Second, we synchronize the TCP session recovery data between the master and the server, and then we operate the failover operation when master server fails. Finally, we provide the non-stop service to peer by using the virtual IP number and the transmission of GARP (Gratuitous ARP) packet.

Analysis on the GPU Performance according to Hierarchical Memory Organization (계층적 메모리 구성에 따른 GPU 성능 분석)

  • Recently, GPGPU has been widely used for general-purpose processing as well as graphics processing by providing optimized hardware for parallel processing. Memory system has big effects on the performance of parallel processing units such as GPU. In the GPU, hierarchical memory architecture is implemented for high memory bandwidth. Moreover, both memory address coalescing and memory request merging techniques are widely used. This paper analyzes the GPU performance according to various memory organizations. According to our simulation results, GPU performance improves by 15.5%, 21.5%, 25.5%, 30.9% as adding 8KB L1, 16KB L1, 32KB L1, 64KB L1 cache, respectively, compared to case without L1 cache. However, experimental results show that some benchmarks decrease performance since memory transaction increases due to data dependency. Moreover, average memory access latency is increased as the depth of hierarchical cache level increases when cache miss occurs significantly.

  • The Network Mobility (NEMO) basic support protocol extends the operation of Mobile IPv6 to provide uninterrupted Internet connectivity to the communicating nodes of mobile networks. The protocol is not efficient to offer delays in data delivery and higher overheads in the case of nested mobile networks because it uses fairly sub-optimal routing and multiple encapsulation of data packets. In this paper, our scheme combining Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) functionality and Hierarchical Prefix Delegation (HPD) protocol for IPv6, which provide more effective route optimization and reduce packet header overhead and the burden of location registration for handoff. The scheme also uses hierarchical mobile network prefix (HMNP) assignment and tree-based routing mechanism to allocate the location address of mobile network nodes (MNNs) and support micro-mobility and intra-domain data communication. The performance is evaluated using NS-2.

A Study on Open Software based IP Network System Practice Platform and Practicing Scenario (공개 소프트웨어 기반 IP 네트워크 시스템 실습 플랫폼 및 실습 시나리오)

  • It is very important for beginners in networking to build, test, and operate an IP network system, which is the key infrastructure of the fourth industrial revolution. An IP network system consists of the IP network itself, covering both the internet and underlying layers, plus the basic network system supporting fundamental network services, with a DNS, the DHCP, email, WWW, and application service systems, such as VoIP. This paper suggests an open software-based practice platform with a minimal network configuration on which beginners can practice on nearly all of the IP network system, and it presents a practice scenario and results. In addition, it adds both IP address allocation and routing table manipulation functions to the network simulator software, which will allow beginners to learn table-based datagram routing schemes in advance. This platform may be useful for networking beginners in order to practice on an IP network system on their own personal computers without additional equipment and costs.

  • With the development of smartphones, the number of applications for smartphone increases sharply. As a result, users need to try several times to find their favorite apps. In order to solve this problem, we propose a recommendation system to provide an appropriate app list based on the user's log information including time stamp, location, application list, and so on. The proposed approach learns three recommendation models including Naive-Bayesian model, SVM model, and Most-Frequent Usage model using temporal and spatial attributes. In order to figure out the best model, we compared the performance of these models with variant features, and suggest an hybrid method to improve the performance of single models.

  • This paper presents the development of RFID educational system based on using 900MHz air interface between the reader and the active tag. The software of reader and the active tag is developed on embedded environment, and the software of PC controlling the reader is based on window OS operated as the server. The AT89C51ED2 VLSI chip is used for the processor of the reader and the active tag. As the development environment, Keil compiler is used for the reader and the active tag of which the programing language is C. The visual C language of the visual studio on the PC activated as the server is used for development language. To verify the function of the system, PC gets the tag's identification number through the reader and send the data to with the active tag memory a certain contents as "wite" operation. Finally the data written from the active tag's memory is sent to the PC via the reader as "read" operation and compare the received data with one already sent to the tag.

  • Service operating management to keep stable and effective environment according as user increase and network environment of the Internet become complex gradually and requirements of offered service and user become various is felt constraint gradually. To solve this problem, invasion confrontation system through proposed this log analysis can be consisted as search of log file that is XML's advantage storing log file by XML form is easy and fast, and can have advantage log files of system analyze unification and manages according to structure anger of data. Also, created log file by Internet Protocol Address sort by do log and by Port number sort do log, invasion type sort log file and comparative analysis created in other invasion feeler system because change sort to various form such as do log by do logarithm, feeler time possible.

  • Mobile IP was proposed to overcome identity problem of original IP address system caused by mobility of wireless mobile host. To complete its network handoff procedure, it must receive a mobile advertisement broadcasted by mobile agent. Generally, in a mobile IP system, mean time delay, 500ms, in a network handoff procedure is a critical problem of wireless service such as Voip, multimedia streaming. A caching agent caches a latest mobile advertisement, and replays it by receiving solicitation message from a mobile node finishing link layer detection. But, during the procedure of mobile registration, many packets from service provider to the mobile host would be lost and handoff time delay would be increased. In this thesis, we propose an unproved caching agent technique which can forward data packets while handoff procedure, and CoA pool for fast mobile IP registration.
