A Study of the Relation Between Self-Esteem and Attitude Toward Household Work and its Satisfaction. (주부의 자아 존중감과 가사 노동에 대한 태도 및 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between housewife's self esteem and attitude toward household work its satisfaction and to find out how independent variables(housewife's age, education level, employment, household work helper, type of family) have effect on the two dependent variables. The measurement of self-esteem was based on the self-concept test standarized by Jung Won Sick, reformed the Fitts measurement for Korean Society. In order to measure of attitude toward household work and its satisfaction, based on the previous research, researcher made the measurement . the research was conducted on 234 housewives in Seoul in September 1984. Data was analyzed by percentage, mean, frequence analysis of variances, Pearson's correlation coefficient. The result can be summarized as following. 1)Over on half of housewives have high self-esteem comparatively. 2) Age and education level were variables to have influence n the attitude toward household work. 3)The attitude toward household work and its satisfaction comparatively were high. 4)Education level and type of family were variables to have influence on the attitude toward household work. Education level, employment and household work helper were variables to have influence on the satisfaction of house hold work. 5) Level of Self-esteem has influence on the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. The higher level of self-esteem was, the higher becomes the score of the attitude toward house hold work and its satisfaction. Following suggestions can be extracted form the results of above study. 1) research of housewife's self-esteem didn't established a setted theory yet. I think, therefore, it requires deeper study about housewife's household work look upon as her occupation and relation between the household work as her occupation and her self-esteem in this area. 2) Population and sociological variables, used in this study, hardly influenced on self-esteem, the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. Also the result didn't correspond with one another. So I think it requires need of further study how psychological and family function variables will have influence on housewife's self-esteem, the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. 3) To recognized the value of household work objectively, many researchers tried to investigate of economical value of household work, But if housewife can realize her self-actualization through household work, it requires the study that try to objectively not only estimate the economic value of household work, but also the contribution of the aspect of family psychology.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the types of domestic safety accidents involving children and to verify the difference of safety knowledge according to variables of parents. Subjects include 226 parents who have 3-5 year old infants enrolled in kindergartens and day care centers in I-city, Jeollabuk-do. The study tools are modified and complemented questionnaire for the study purpose referred to the preceding research data and the literature. For the processing of collected data, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and the Duncan post-test were utilized using the SPSS program. The results of this study are as follows: First, safety accidents occurred at the majority of homes which have infant children. On average, the occurrence frequency was 1.78 times per six months. The accidents involving infants occurred in the order of drop or slip, crash or impact, stricture or jamming, fall, stab or cut, burn, swallow or inhalation. Second, both parents had an average level of safety knowledge. There was a distinction in the areas of 'fall' and 'first aid' according the mother's age. In addition, stay-at-home mothers had the higher level of safety knowledge compared with working mothers in the areas of 'general safety knowledge' and 'fire'. There was a distinction in the area of 'fire' according to the father's age. Given these findings, safety training programs for parents to improve safety knowledge needs to be developed.

A Survey on Consumer's Perception of Fresh-cut Agri-food Products for Quality Enhancement (신선편이 농식품의 품질제고를 위한 소비자 인식조사)

  • Consumer's perception and consumption pattern of fresh-cut agri-food Products were surveyed to Provide basic information for quality enhancement. The results are summarized as follows: The respondents had a preference for a discount store (60.5$\%$) to purchase fruits and vegetables and the frequency of purchase was one time Per week (46.1$\%$). Fruits and vegetables were purchased frequently by full-time housewives compared with workers. The reasons for purchasing fresh-cut agri-food generally resulted from a consideration of the saving in cooking time, the ease of handling and the desire to serve appropriate portions. On the other hand, the reasons for not purchasing fresh-cut agri-food Products were the comparatively high price, a perception of unsanitary handling. Freshness was considered to be the most important factor when purchasing these products. The preferred price for the fresh-cut agri-food products were approximately 110 $\∼$ 140$\%$ of that for the unprocessed products. 87.7$\%$ of respondents answered that they will purchase fresh-cut agri-food products continuously if some problems that they considered, would be improved.

A Survey on the Sensory Preference for Making Summer Kimchi by Nationwide Region (여름철 배추김치 담금시 지역별 관능적 선호도 조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the preferred methods for making summer kimchi as a basic research of making commercial kimchi. Questionnaire were collected from 590 housewives nationwide in Korea, and the data were analyzed by SPSS program. The results were as follows: (1) The average salting time of Chinese cabbage was 3~5 hrs when the combined method of dry and brine salting was used, regardless of the region. (2) Seven jeotkals (salt-fermented fishes) including anchovy, anchovy juice, shrimp, northern sand lance juice, hair-tail viscera, flatfish and yellow corvenia were mainly used in kimchi. Among them, anchovy and anchovy juice jeotkals were preferred to all others in Southern area (Busan, Gwangju, Gyeongnam, Gyeongbuk, Jeonnam), while shrimp jeotkal in Seoul, Gwangju, Jeonbuk, Chungnam and Jeju, and northern sand lance juice jeotkal in Daegu, Daejeon and Gyeonggi, respectively. In most regions, however, blending type of 2 jeotkals was used in kimchi. (3) Eleven ingredients such as red pepper, garlic, ginger, green onion, radish, leek, onion, carrot, sugar, sesame and MSG were used as basic components for making kimchi. In particular, MSG was used as a basic ingredient regardless of region and age. However, a standard taste for making kimchi was depended on housewife in this study.

수돗물 중 할로초산에 대한 인체 섭취 노출 평가

  • 염소소독 결과 수돗물 중에 존재하는 Dichloroacetic acid(DCAA)와 Trichloroacetic acid(TCAA)는 동물실험 결과 발암성 등 악영향을 일으키는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 화합물들은 수돗물을 사용할 때 열을 가하면 그 농도가 변하게 된다. 이 연구에서는 설문조사를 통해 개인이 하루 동안에 섭취하는 수돗물의 양과 섭취패턴을 조사하고, 각 가정마다 수돗물의 농도를 측정하여 DCAA 및 TCAA에 대한 경구섭취 노출량을 평가하고자 실시하였다. 춘천에 위치하고 있는 60가정을 2002년 1월부터 2월 사이와 7월부터 8월 사이에 방문하여 수돗물을 채취하고, 주부를 대상으로 24시간 동안의 물 사용에 대한 설문을 실시하였으며, 아침 첫 소변을 회수하였다. 수돗물 및 소변 중 DCAA 및 TCAA에 대한 분석은 methyl ester 형태의 유도체를 만든 후 GC/PDECD로 분석하였다. 수돗물을 가열하면 DCAA의 농도는 증가하고, TCAA의 농도는 감소하였고, DCAA 및 TCAA의 경구 섭취량은 수돗물 중의 농도에 섭취부피와 가열시간에 따른 농도변화율을 곱하여 산출하였다. 실험 대상자들의 평균 수돗물 섭취부피는 1.7$\ell$이었고, 평균 가열시간은 10~15분이었다. 추정한 DCAA의 섭취량은 찬 수돗물만을 마시는 것을 가정한 것에 비해 182% 높았고, TCAA에 대해서는 30% 낮았다 이와 같은 결과는 우리나라 사람들의 식생활이 국이나 찌개 및 보리차 등과 같이 가열한 음식이나 음용수를 많이 섭취하기 때문이다. 그러므로 음용수 중 DCAA 및 TCAA의 인체 섭취 노출평가를 하기 위해서는 섭취한 부피뿐만 아니라 가열에 따른 농도 변화도 동시에 고려하여 야 한다.배 센타의 재고 완충역할을 수행하게 한다. 이에 따라 안전 재고 및 역 배송을 최소화 할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 미 출고로 인한 손실을 최소화하며 고객의 서비스를 일정하게 유지시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.증진, 페기물 발생 억제 분야에 상당한 성공을 거두었으며, 지금도 지속적으로 유지 관리 및 미비한 부분(CAER, 등)의 향상에 노력하고 있다. A Survey on the Meal Management Attitudes of Housewives Who Had Elementary Schoolchildren in a Remote Rural Country in Korea (일부 벽지 농촌 가정 주부의 식생활 관리 실태 조사)

  • This study is performed to examine the meal management attitudes of housewives who had elementary schoolchildren in the remote rural areas(RA: n = 318, $37.2{\pm}0.3$ years of age) in comparison to those in their vicinity urban area(UA: n = 349, $36.9{\pm}0.2$ years of age) in the Chungnam province in Korea. The subjects were asked to fill out the questionnaire on their attitudes of meal management for their families. The results obtained in this study were as followings: (1) Most husbands of the subjects had a farming job in the RA while they had salaried workers in the UA(p<0.001). Education levels of both subjects and their husbands were lower in the RA than in the UA. Nuclear families were dominated by both groups, however single parent-family and step parent-family were more prevalent in the RA than in the UA. (2) in terms of ways of getting foods such as grains, meats, eggs, vegetables and fruits, the RA housewives relied more often on self-production than did the UA housewives(p<0.001). (3) The frequency of purchasing unprocessed foods was lower in the RA than in the UA(p<0.001). The RA housewives purchased the convenient foods such as instant noodles(p<0.05), ready to eatsoups(p<0.001), retort pouch foods(p<0.05) and instant teas(p<0.05) more frequently than did the UA housewives, while tuna, canned in oil(p<0.01), milk and their products(p<0.001), soybean products(p<0.001) and snacks(p<0.01) were purchased less often by the RA housewives. (4) Family members except housewives engaged more often in meal preparation in the RA than did those in the UA(p<0.001), which was more strongly observed for dinner. The time spent in preparing the dinner was shorter in the RA than in the UA(p<0.001). (5) The degrees of endeavor to provide the subjects' offspring with balanced meal(p<0.001) and nutrition education(p<0.01) were lower in the RA than in the UA. The RA housewives had more difficulty for performing meal management because of 'over work-related fatigue', 'insufficient money to purchase foods' and 'far distance from grocery' than the UA housewives(p<0.001). The RA housewives had lower score on nutritional knowledge(p<0.001) and wanted more strongly nutritional knowledge to improve the quality of family's meal than did the UA housewives(p<0.01). Therefore, the RA housewives had various problems regarding meal management such as 'over work related to fatigue', 'food-purchasing inconvenience', 'low economic status of family' and 'lack of nutritional knowledge'. As a consequence the RA housewives relied on cheap convenient foods more often in order to prepare the meal easily than did the UA housewives. These findings emphasize the need in the RA for nutrition education for housewives and a range of nutrition policies that focus upon the social and economic determinants of food choice within families to improve the nutritional status of the RA residents.

Literature Review of Tangpyeongchae in Cook Books Published in 1700~1960s (1700년대~1960년대 문헌에 나타난 탕평채의 문헌고찰)

  • This study was reviewed the changes in main ingredients, seasonings and cooking methods of Tangpyeongchae in Korean cook books and literatures published from the 1700s to the 1960s. The first published books about Tangpyeongchae were in Kosasibijib and Kyongdojabji, written in 1783 and the late 1700s, respectively. Tangpyeongchae, a representative traditional Korean dish that was royal cuisine offered at ritual events in the Chosun Dynasty, was called Cheongpochae in the royal court. It was a dish made by mixing cheongpomuk (mung bean gel), meat, dropwort, mung bean sprout, egg strips and laver. This dish has been seasoned with vinegar, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic, green onion, red pepper, salt, sugar, sesame oil and sesame salt since the early 1900s. Dropwort, egg strips, laver, pine nut (powder), red pepper powder, and red pepper threads were used as garnishes. Tangpyeongchae was made by mixing cheongpomuk with other ingredients and seasonings until the late 1800s. Since the early 1900s Tangpyeongchae has been seasoned first with other ingredients and then mixed cheongpomuk.

Analysis and Estimation of Factors Affecting Travel Time Budget (통행시간예산의 요인분석 및 추정)

  • The traveler's travel pattern has significantly changed due to the social and economic changes. The travel time among the traveler's pattern is the limited resource. The travelers are trying to maximize the utility of travel with the least travel cost. So, the travelers travel with their own travel time budget in mind, which they can pay or choose to pay for the optimal maximization of the utility of the individuals. This research is to group and extract the specific factors which affect the travel time budget by utilizing the CART analysis method, which enables the analysis of traveler's characteristics and their interrelationship based on the data collected from "2002 Household Travel Practice Research" and then try to derive a model for estimating the traveler’s travel time budget. The result of CART analysis shows that the factors which affect the travel time budget include the traveler's age, size of house, type of house, type of employment, job and relation to the head of household. Considering the affecting factors derived, I developed an estimation model. From that model, we found that the age, size of house and type of house were positively (+) related to the travel time budget while the homeworking people who have less travel frequency as a type of employment were negatively (-) related to it. In particular, from the point of type of job, the housewives, children not yet old enough to attend schools and people who are working in the agricultural, or marine product industries were found to have the negative (-) value while the people who have the administrative, office, management jobs were found to have the positive (+) value.

Fauna and geographical distribution of house dust mites in Korea (한국내 집먼지진드기의 지역분포상)

  • During the period of 1933-1994, house dusts were collected from 65 homes at 10 different localities by operating electric vacuum cleaners. House dust mites were isolated from 10 g dust by applying the modified wet sieving method. Total 7,257 mites were collected and 23 species were identified. Among them, Demctophqgoines loyinaf (DF) was predominant (65. Soy) of the total) , followed by D. pteronvssinus (DP) (20.6%) and Tyrophagus nutrescentios (TP) (6.5%) . Rhizoglvphur robini, Sancqsscnin phvIlophogiann, Cheyletus trcussarti and Scheloribates latipes were the first findings from Korea. DF was predominant in Seoul (66.8%), Kwangju (63.6%), inland of Pusan (79.6%1, Inchon (96.5%), Taejon (83.9%), Chouju (87.15) and Chongiu (95.2%), whereas DP was predominant in Yongkwang-ub (72.5%) and Yongdo (island) of Pusan (64.9%), and TP in Chunchon (38.2%) The localities where DP and TP were predominant showed higher relative humidity in air (> 73% RH) . Among 62 study homes, DF, DP and TP were found in 24.6% of the homes, co-habitat of two species in 48.1% and one species in 27.3%. DF was predominant in 63.5% of the homes studied, DP in 29.6% and TP in 6.9%. In 10 g of the house dust, less than 99 mites were found in 49 homes (70.0%), 100-499 mites in 11 homes (15.7%), 500-999 mites in 3 homes (4.3%) and more than 1,000 mites in 2 homes (2.9%). No mite was found in 5 homes (7.1%). In order to evaluate environmental factors affecting the population density of house dust mites, house type, age of house construction, size of the house, number of the family and frequency of the cleaning were compared with the number of mites, and none of the above factors were statistically correlated with the mite density.

  • 고탁수 장기화 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법으로는 고탁수층을 선택취수하여 우선 배제함으로써 하류하천의 고탁수 발생일수를 최소화하는 방법이 있는데, 이와 같은 선택적 취수기법은 저수지 운영에 있어서 고탁수층을 우선 배제한 후 홍수기 이후에 저수지내로 유입되는 청수를 담수하여 호소 내 탁도 저감 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 선택취수 시 성층수괴의 동수역학적 변화를 분석하기 위하여 국내에서 처음으로 Two-tank 기법을 이용하여 성층구조를 구현해 내었는데, 소금물의 밀도변화를 이용하여 수심 1m의 성층수조를 만들었고, 밀도경사가 상이한 성층구조에서 취수조건을 변화시키면서 비교란 유속계인 PIV 시스템을 이용해 유속의 흐름을 Vector와 Contour로 분석하였다. 선택취수에 대한 흐름의 동수역학적 분석결과 취수유량보다는 밀도성층경사 변화에 더 민감한 반응을 보였다. 취수유량을 줄이거나 밀도성층경사를 급하게 했을 때에는 선택취수 영역(withdrawal zone)의 수직방향 폭은 줄어드는 반면, X축으로의 영향범위는 증가함을 나타냈다. 취수유량을 증가시키거나 성층밀도경사를 완만히 했을 땐 선택취수 영역(withdrawal zone)의 수직방향 폭은 증가하였고 X축으로의 영향범위는 축소됨을 나타내었다. 이 결과는 Richardson 수로도 판단되어지는데, Richardson 수가 증가하면 유속에 비해 상대적으로 밀도성층경사가 크다는 것인데 이럴 경우 선택취수 영역(withdrawal zone)의 수직방향 폭 최대가 되고 선택취수 영역(withdrawal zone)의 수직방향 폭은 최소가 된다. 선택취수 영역(withdrawal zone)의 수직방향 폭이 최소가 되면 취수구 직경 D의 1.8배의 값을 가지고 Richradson 수가 최소가 되더라도 취수구 직경 D의 3.3배를 벗어나지 않는다는 결과를 도출할 수 있었다.링 목적으로 사용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서 개발한 영상수위계는 한강홍수통제소 관할의 전류, 청담대교 등 4개소 낙동강 홍수통제소 2개소, 지자체 등에 적용되었으며, 적용 결과 비교적 안정적이면서 정확하게 수위를 측정하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 기존 CCD 카메라 이외에 CCTV를 이용한 영상수위계를 개발하여 영상의 화질 개선뿐 아니라 하천화상 감시 기능을 강화하였다.소류의 섭취율은 높았다. 집단간의 상관도를 보면 교육별로 김치, 장아찌, 콩이 각각 p>0.5 수준에서 유의한 차가 없었고, 나머지는 유의한 차가 있었다. 연령별로는 멸치가 유의한 차가 없었고(p>0.5), 수입별로는 콩이 유의한 차가 없었다(p>0.5). 4. 영양지식(營養知識) 검토 가정생활(家庭生活)에 필요(必要)한 일반적(一般的)인 영양지식(營養知識)은 대체적으로 낮은 편이었다. 어린이 영양, 편식의 해로움, 비만증의 해로움, 임신부 그리고 수유부 영양에 대하여는 일반적으로 알고 있다고 하였으며, 그다음으로 이유기 영양, 어린이 발육에 필요한 식품, 식품과 영양소와의 관계, 우유의 성분, 노인영양에 대하여 잘 알고 있는 비율이 낮았으며, 인체의 영양소, 식단작성여부, 간식의 이론, 식품감별법에 대하여는 가장 낮은 비율을 나타냈다. 각 영양지식은 교육정도가 높을수록 영양지식이 높았고, 교육별 집단간의 유의한 차가 나타났다.
