FuzzyES for Environmental Risk Assessment of Ship Navigation (항행 선박 주변 환경의 위험도 평가를 위한 퍼지 전문가 시스템)

  • Marine accidents do not correspond with another accidents because of a serious loss of lives and property. The many marine accidents can be attributed to human error like as carelessness and decision faults, and hence there is a strong need for decision-support tools for marine navigation. Much of researchers have introduced the techniques about the tools, but they hardly consider environmental factors (water depth, the width of waterway, a fishing ground, a current, the number of surrounding marine accidents, marine obstacles, etc), which are very important to the decision making of officers. In a previous research, we proposed the conceptual model of environmental risk assessment of ship navigation using fuzzy. This paper describes the detailed design of the environmental factors based on the opinion of navigation experts, and shows the validity of the conceptual model through a prototype system.

  • 물은 이 지구상의 생명의 원천으로써 우리 몸의 구성요소가 80~90%가 물로 구성되어 있다. 상업의 고도화와 생활의 질적 향상으로 환경오염에 대한 중요성과 우리 주변환경에 관한 관심이 매우 커져가고 있다. 우리 스스로 주변 환경을 지키고자하는 의식을 가지기 위해서는 우리 주변 수질환경에 대한 정확한 이해와 정보가 필요하다. 이를 위해서 이반적인 수질오염에 대한 초등교육부터 일반적인 환경 지키기 기본교육을 체계적으로 가르치는 시스템이 구축되어야 한다. 그리고 에너지절약 등급표시제도나 CO2 배출절약운동같이 대중참여 캠패인을 통해 대중이 참여하는 제도가 있어야 한다. 우리 주변에 수질등급을 에너지절약표시처럼 시각화하여 쉽게 인지하고 정보를 알기 쉽게 알려주는 표시체계를 만든다면 우리지역을 지키지 위한 주민 관심과 실천으로 다양한 환경오염의 피해는 점점 줄어들 수 있다.

The Effects of Intelligence and Scientific Attitude on Understanding in Surrounding Plants (지능과 과학 태도가 주변 식물의 이해에 미치는 영향)

  • Understanding the surrounding plants (SP) by the high school students was compared with their abilities of intelligence (SI) and attitude (SA) in science education. 276 students attending 11 grade high school in the city of Incheon selected for this work were tested for SP and their abilities of SI and SA. The rates of SP were observed to be not related to the personal properties of student but to the abilities of total or science achievement scores made throughout school life. The abilities of SP were, by linear regression, calculated to be dependent upon the some components or variables of SI or of SA. Particularly, the abilities of SP were closely related to the abilities of picture matrix and vocabulary, but not to those of scientific logics among variables of SI. Also, the abilities of SP were calculated to be positively related those of scientific attitude, but negatively to science anxiety in SA. As based on this work, the SP was strongly suggested to be helpful for students 'intelligences or for students' learning in their life.

  • Environmental sculpture is not just a decoration for architecture. It is a work of art with public interest and one of the best ways to improve street landscape design. Place of installation is very important for environmental sculpture, because it has close relationship with its surroundings and regional context. Field survey was performed on Teheran-Street, between Samsung station and Yeoksam station, central business district of Kang-Nam where lots of major buildings are located. All the 28 environmental sculptures facing Teheran-Street were examined. Relationship between environmental sculpture and street landscape design was investigated by three different points of view, relationship with architecture, intimacy with pedestrian, and space defined by the environmental sculpture. Environmental sculpture needs its own space and appropriate place to have beneficial influence on the sense of place. Environmental sculpture is important factor to control the quality of street landscape design. We should have macroscopic approach to determine place of installation, method and material of Environmental sculpture.

Evaluation of the Habitat Suitability of the Hantan Dam Reservoir (한탄강 댐 저수지 생태환경 서식적합도지수 산정)

  • 본 연구는 저수지 주변 생태환경 서식적합도지수를 산정하여 댐 건설 전후의 생태환경을 정량적으로 평가하고자 하였다. 생태적 가치에 대한 평가 모델 고려 인자로는 고도, 경사 및 각과 같은 물리적 요인, 산림 지형, 식생 유형, 연령층, DBH 등급과 같은 초목 요인들, 그리고 생태 자연상태, 식생 보존 분류 및 야생 생물 출현 지점과 같은 서식지 요인을 이용하였다. 각 요소의 생태학적 기능을 고려한 평가기준을 정량화하여 개발된 모델은 한탄강 댐 저수지에 적용하였다. 그 결과 댐 건설 이전의 생태 가치가 100이라고 가정했을 때, 댐 건설 이후에 물리적 요소는 83.9, 초목요소는 92.4, 그리고 서식처 요소는 84.5로 저하되었다. 전반적인 생태 가치는 건설 후 86.9 %, 13.1 % 감소하였다. 또한, 평가 요소를 쌓은 방법을 통해 생태학적으로 건강한 지역을 선정하였다. 본 연구결과는 댐 저수지에 생태 복원 계획을 수립하는 데 유용할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 한국의 신도시를 비롯해서 일본과 유럽의 신도시를 사례로 선정하여 그 주거단지들에서 찾을 수 있는 친환경적인 요소를 중심으로 비교분석하였다. 친환경 주거단지란 지구환경을 보전하고자 하는 생각에서 시작되어 지구환경의 보전과 주변 환경과의 친화를 목적으로 거주자들이 자연환경과 어울려 쾌적하게 생활할 수 있도록 하는 단지환경을 말한다. 이 논문에서는 친환경 요소를 중심으로 사례들을 비교 분석하여 해외 사례의 친환경 단지로서의 시사점을 찾고 한국의 분당과 판교 신도시에 대한 문제점을 고찰하고자한다.

A Study On Context Sensitive Highway Design Based On Improved Operating Speed Prediction Methods in National Roads (환경 친화적 도로 설계를 위한 기초 연구 (노선대 지형 및 지역 요소를 고려한 일반국도 주행속도 예측 모형))

  • Highway design speed is a very important design element which determines highway design level. When determining highway design speed, one would estimate it utilizing the most likelihood of design speed and vehicle operating speed relationship. Existing operating speed prediction models only include highway geometric characteristics and their impacts on speed, which usually can not consider the impact of highway design speed on surrounding roadway environment and land use pattern. If this happens, excessive highway construction cost and huge environmental impact can occur. In this research project, a new vehicle operating speed prediction model was developed which can reflect the effect of surrounding roadway environment into vehicle speed prediction. The followings are the research findings : Firstly, highway terrain types and land use pattern on national roads were classified and integrated into drivers' visual recognition pattern. This was performed using a data management software. Secondly, the developed highway terrain types and land use pattern were related to vehicle speeds and it was found that there were significant statistical differences among vehicle speed for each different terrain and land use pattern. Thirdly. the General Linear Model analysis was employed to analyze the effects of highway geometric features, terrain types, and land use patterns. For two-lane highway and four-lane highway tested in this research project, it was found that R squares were 0.67 and 0.85, respectively. Additionally an optimal highway design speed range table, based on this research project. was proposed for practical use. This table can be reliably used on South Korean national road design, but discretion is required for applying this table to other types of highways including provincial roads and municipal roads.

  • Cracks occur in mass concrete structures during construction if temperature of the concrete due to heat of hydration is suddenly changed. The temperature is also changed after placement of mass concrete by construction environments on structures. However, methods which can analyze the temperature history of mass concrete considering the construction environments have not been developed yet. In this research, an algorithm and finite element analysis program is developed for the analysis of temperature rise history of mass concrete considering quantitatively heat transfer coefficient and construction environmental conditions such as climate conditions, curing conditions, forms and form removal, and additive curing. By comparing analysis results of the program with experimental data, other research data, and analysis results by a finite element program ADINAT, validity and accuracy of the program is verified.

  • This study aimed to identify that the physical environment of a food service company has influenced on the perceived service quality, menu quality and customer satisfaction. To achieve the purpose of this study, it reviewed the theoretical background about the physical environment, the perceived service quality, the perceived menu quality and customer satisfaction. Moreover, this study conducted a corresponding empirical analysis. For the empirical analysis, a questionnaire was given to a total of 275 regular restaurant customers at Busan area. The results of the empirical analysis were shown as follows. 1) The components of physical environment of a service company are the attractiveness, cleanliness, space & convenience and the ambient factor of physical environment. 2) For the attractiveness of the physical environment, cleanliness and the ambience factors of the physical environment have influenced on the perceived service quality and menu quality. 3) The perceived service quality has influence on the perceived the menu quality. 4) The perceived service quality and the menu quality have influence on the customer satisfaction.

  • 고속열차의 운행속도가 증가함에 따라 이전보다 공기역학적인 요소들의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 열차와 터널의 형상설계뿐만 아니라 주변 환경을 위해 고속 주행하는 열차 주변의 유동장을 이해할 필요성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 고속 주행으로 인해 열차 주변에 발생하는 열차풍을 분석하여 선로 주변에 작용하는 풍하중을 계산하였고, 터널 주행 시 발생하는 압력변동과 객차 연결부의 비정상 열린 공동 유동을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 2차원 해석의 정량적 한계점이 나타났지만, 정성적인 경향은 선행연구와 잘 일치함을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 고속열차 주변의 공기역학적 특성의 이해와 열차 및 터널의 형상 변화에 따른 상대적인 비교를 위해서는 EDISON_CFD를 이용한 2차원 해석이 유용함을 볼 수 있었다.
