In the recent downtown works, there are frequent cases where the work on existing piles is impossible due to the influence from lack of space and surrounding environment. In such cases, there has been growing cases of using the micropile method that is available to work with the small equipment and asserts the bearing capacity of the existing piles. The micropile method is a type of drilled shaft with the diameter of a pile to be around 75 mm~300 mm that, even for a case where it has certain surrounding structure, foundation and spatial obstacle, there is almost no work difficulty and the work is feasible under all types of soil conditions. In addition, the work can be done in places where the ceiling of the building is low with less vibration and noise in the work process that such method is significantly used for foundation reinforcement of existing buildings. With respect to the motion characteristics that are changed depending on the foundational characteristics or when the micropile is applied with compression or tensile force, there is very few studies conducted. Therefore, under this study, through the data analysis of the field loading test regarding the micropile worked in the fields, it clarifies the settlement and characteristics of bearing capacity following the embedded condition of the ingredients and piles that consist the foundation if the compression and tensile force are applied to the micropile, and by facilitating the statistical analysis program, SAS, to carry out the analysis on the main elements influencing on settlement of the micropile and bearing capacity.

The turnout system of the sleeper floating tracks (STEDEF) on urban transit is a Anti-vibration track composed of a wooden sleeper embedded in a concrete bed and a sleeper resilience pad under the sleeper. Therefore, deterioration and changes in spring stiffness of the sleeper resilience pad could be cause changes in sleeper support conditions. The damage amount of manganese crossings that occurred during the current service period of about 21 years was investigated to be about 17% of the total amount of crossings, and it was analyzed that the damage amount increased after 15 years of use (accumulated passing tonnage of about 550 million tons). In this study, parameter analysis (wheel position, sleeper support condition, and dynamic wheel load) was performed using a three-dimensional numerical model that simulated real manganese crossing and wheel profile, to analyze the damage type and cause of manganese crossing that occurred in the actual field. As a result of this study, when the voided sleeper occurred in the sleeper around the nose, the stress generated in the crossing nose exceeded the yield strength according to the dynamic wheel load considering the design track impact factor. In addition, the analysis results were evaluated to be in good agreement with the location of damage that occurred in the actual field. Therefore, in order to minimize the damage of the manganese crossing, it is necessary to keep the sleeper support condition around the nose part constant. In addition, by considering the uniformity of the boundary conditions under the sleepers, it was analyzed that it would be advantageous to to replace the sleeper resilience pad together when replacing the damaged manganese crossing.
This paper describes reinforcement method of reinforced earth wall near the abutment. The excessive displacement of a case affected by reduction of bearing capacity due to macro-environment condition like a coast. That is, the front displacement of reinforced earth wall has been happening continuously due to strength reduction of foundation ground. The micro pile is applied to reinforcement method, in order to secure a bearing capacity and global slope stability of reinforced earth wall. The results of numerical analysis confirmed that reinforcement method based on micro pile can secure a stability of structure, while the reconstruction of reinforced earth wall is impossible by construction and macro-environment condition.

Using the elliptical cylindrical function, the added masses of thin rectangular plates vibrating elastically in an infinite ideal fluid are calculated. For the boundary conditions of the plates, two models are adopted. The plate which is simply-supported on two opposite edges while the other edges are clamped is one and the other is the plate which is simply-supported on two opposite edges while the other edges are free. Same examples are calculated numerically for the fundamental mode in each cases. And the effect of the boundary condition on the added mass are investigated by comparing these data with those of Kim's[4] which were calculated for the simply-supported plates by the same method. It is concluded that it is possible to predict the added mass of a rectangular plate, whose boundary condition is not treated in this report, by using the result of this investigation.
Mudstone has characteristics that it has high enough strength and stiffness in a dry condition, but the strength and stiffness decrease in a wet condition with groundwater infiltration. The sliding of cut slope frequently encountered in Pohang area has been reported due to the rapid reduction of shear strength in mudstone after being exposed to the air. The study in this paper shows that mudstone having enough strength in a boring stage has lost the strength after installing PRD (percussion rotary drill) steel pipe pile inducing an insufficient bearing capacity. Field test has been performed to investigate the most favorable method for increasing a pile bearing capacity in mudstone with various methods such as MSG (Micro Silica Grouting) around the tip and side of a pile, the perimeter grouting combined with Micro pile reinforcement, and concrete filling after tip reinforcing grouting. MSG has been turned out to be the most favorable method for increasing a pile bearing capacity in mudstone, confirmed by the static load test.

In ships and offshore structures, there are many local structures formed of thick plates and/or having the form of double wall panels. For the vibration analysis of such a kind of structures, Mindlin plate theory which includes the effects of shear deformation and rotary inertia is usually adopted. In this paper, the vibration and dynamic sensitivity analysis of Mindlin plates having the boundary conditions elastically restrained against rotation have been accomplished using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. Polynomials having the property of the Timoshenko beam functions are introduced and used as trial functions in the spatial representation of the deflection and rotations of cross sections in two directions of the plates. The results obtained by the introduced polynomials gave nearly the same numerical results as those by the Timoshenko beam functions with the remarkable reduction of computational efforts especially in the dynamic sensitivity analysis.
This paper presents the results of numerical investigation on support mechanism of geogrid-encased stone columns for use in soft ground improvement. A number of cases were analyzed using a 3D stress-pore pressure coupled model that can effectively model construction sequence and drainage as well as reinforcing effects of geogrid-encased stone columns. The results indicated that the geogrid encasement provides additional confinement effect that reduces vertical stress in the soft ground, thus resulting in less excess pore water pressures and associated settlement. Also revealed was that such a confinement effect depends on encasement length and stiffness of geogrid. It is also shown that there exist critical encasement length and stiffness of geogrid for a given condition.

Association rule is the technique to represent the relationship between two or more items by numerical representing for the relevance of each item in vast amounts of databases, and is most being used in data mining. The basic thresholds for association rule are support, confidence, and lift. these are used to generate the association rules. We need standardization of lift because the range of lift value is different from that of support and confidence. And also we need standardization of support and confidence to compare objectively association level of antecedent variables for one descendant variable. In this paper we propose a method for standardization of association thresholds considering marginal probability for each item to grasp objectively and exactly association level, check the conditions for association criteria and then compare association thresholds with standardized association thresholds using some concrete examples.
