S-JND based Perceptual Rate Control Algorithm of HEVC (S-JND 기반의 HEVC 주관적 율 제어 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, the perceptual rate control algorithm is studied for HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) encoder with bit allocation based on perceived visual quality. This paper proposes perceptual rate control algorithm which could consider perceived quality for HEVC encoding method. The proposed rate control algorithm employs adaptive bit allocation for frame and CTU level using the perceived visual importance of each CTU. For performance evaluation of the proposed algorithm, the proposed algorithm was implemented on HM 16.9 and tested for sequences in Class B under the CTC (Common Test Condition) RA (Random Access) case. Experimental results show that the proposed method reduces the bitrate of 3.12%, and improves BD-PSNR of 0.08dB and bitrate accuracy of 0.07% on average. And also, we achieved MOS improvement of 0.16 with the proposed method, compared with the conventional method based on DSCQS (Double Stimulus Continuous Quality Scale).

  • This article evaluates the existing subjective measures that have been utilized in surface transportation to assess various aspects of operator status such as fatigue, sleepiness, arousal, mood, etc. Specifically, the representative six subjective instruments - Epworth Sleepiness Scale, Karolinska Sleepiness Scale, Pearson and Byars Fatigue Checklist, Stanford Sleepiness Scale, Stress-Arousal Checklist, and NPRU Mood Scale - are compared and contrasted in terms of reliability, . validity, sensitivity, and appropriateness for application. Recommendations for application of the subjective measures in surface transportation are discussed.

A Study on Culinary Staffs' Subjective Perception of Star Chefs' Appearance in Cooking Broadcast (스타셰프의 쿡방 출연에 대한 조리사의 주관적 인식에 관한 연구)

  • As a research on culinary staffs' subjective perception of star chefs' appearance in cooking broadcast, this study analyzed the subjective tendency targeting culinary staffs in hotels & restaurants by applying Q methodology. Three research questions of this study were set up like below. First, what are the culinary staffs' acceptance types of subjective perception of star chefs' appearance in cooking broadcast? Second, what are the characteristics of homogeneous type of culinary staffs' subjective perception of star chefs' appearance in cooking broadcast? Third, what are the things in common and differences of culinary staffs' each subjective perception type of star chefs' appearance in cooking broadcast? In the results of typological analysis based on such research questions, total four types were drawn such as Acquiring expertise through cooking broadcast type(Type1, N=8), New broadcast genre recognition type(Type2, N=10), The profession of the chef reality recognition type(Type3, N=2), and Profession image of chef synergy type(Type4, N=2). Each type showed its own distinctive characteristics.

  • 그 동안 사회과학 분야에서의 연구는 논리실증주의의 객관성 중시 사고가 지배해왔다. 그 결과 객관적인 측정과 변수들 간의 관계에 대한 타당성에 중점을 개인간 (interindividual)의 비교에 대한 연구가 주를 이룸으로써 개인의 주관성이 반영되어 나타나는 다양한 자극들에 대한 개인내(intraindividual)의 반응의 차이에 대한 연구가 부진하였다. 사회과학분야에서 중요한 연구대상이 되는 인간의 독특성은 바로 개별 주체들이 가지고 있는 주관성에 있다고 해고 과언이 아닌데 실증주의자들이 사용해 온 계량적 접근방법으로는 인간의 본질적 속성인 주관성에 대한 연구에 한계가 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 Q 방법의 방법론적 특성과 실제 적용에 대해 알아본다.

Subjective Evaluation of Transmission Quality on Very high-speed Network (초고속 네트워크 상의 전송 품질에 관한 주관적 평가)

  • 본 논문은 기가비트 네트워크 테스트베드인 JGN상에서 대표적인 스트림형 트래픽인 DV와 MPEG2에 대한 전송 품질의 주관적 평가를 통하여 전송지연과 패킷 손실에 따른 영향이 최종 사용자에게 어떤 영향을 미치는 지를 조사한 것이다. 스트림형 데이터에 대해 음질 측정은 ITU-R BS.1116-1을 기반으로 하고 화질 측정은 ITU-R BT.500-1 을 기반으로 하여 측정하였다, 또한 최종 사용자의 주관적 평가를 얻기 위한 방법으로는 DSCQS 5 단계 평가 방법을 채택하였다. 그 결과 MPEG2 스트림의 경우 네트워크 트래픽 파라미터가 급증하는 54%의 부하율에서 화질과 음질의 평가 등급이 급격히 하강한다는 것을 알 수 있었고 DV의 경우 화질은 MPEG2 와 마찬가지로 54%의 부하율에서 평가 등급이 감소하기 시작하였으나 그 변화정도가 MPEG2 에 비하여 완만한 변화를 보였다. DV 음질의 경우 트래픽 파라미터(RTT, 패킷 손실)와는 큰 연관성을 보이지 않았고 대부분의 측정자들이 보통 수준의 평가등급을 보였다.

  • Subjective voice evaluation is necessary and important to assess the voice disorders in addition to objective voice evaluation. Subjective voice evaluation is divided into examiner and examinee subjective voice assessment. The examiner assessment represents perceptual judgment to the patient's voice such as GRBAS scale, Buffalo voice profile, consensus auditory perceptual evaluation of voice (CAPE- V) and so on. The examinee assessment consists of indirect method including voice handicap index (VHI), voice outcome survey (VOS), voice symptom scale (VoiSS), voice related quality of life (V-ROQL) and direct method which is called patient's self-subjective voice rating. This review article describes a general rule, advantages and pitfalls about GRBAS scale, VHI and patient's self-subjective voice rating which are presently most representative voice assessment tools.

  • 영상기술의 발전으로 영상의 품질측정에 관한 연구가 많이 진행되어왔다. 이를 통해 새로운 영상처리, 영상통신등에 사람의 시각적 인지 특성을 고려한 품질측정이 가능해졌다. 무기준법 영상측정방법은 전달된 영상의 정보만을 이용해 품질을 측정하기 때문에, 방송이나 실시간 전송에 주로 이용되어왔다. 이 논문에서 우리는 세가지 비트스트림 정보를 이용한 새로운 무기준법 영상 품질평가 방법을 제안한다. 화면갱신비율, 움직임지수, 양자화계수의 관계를 정립하고, 회기분석을 통해 각각 요소의 가중치를 계산하여냈다. 제안하는 기법을 평가하기 위해, ITU-T P.910에 따라 250개의 영상에 대한 주관적인 영상품질을 측정하였다. 실험결과, 제안하는 화질평가 기법이 기존의 다른 방법들에 비해 주관적인 화질평가와 상관관계가 높게 나타났다.

Factors Affecting Subjective Well-Being of Office Worker (직장인의 주관적 안녕감에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting subjective well-being of Korea's office workers. To do this, this paper proposed and analyzed a theoretical model consisting of factors such as energy, work self-efficacy, work meaningfulness, organization/supervisor support, society activity, family relationship satisfaction and subjective well-being. Data was collected using the survey method, and analyzed using structural equation model. The results from this research are as follows. First, work self-efficacy and wok meaningfulness have a positive effect on subjective well-being. Second, relationship has a positive effect on subjective well-being. In conclusion, the implication of my research is to verify some factors to predict subjective well-being of office workers in Korea.

Antecedents and Outcome Variable and Mediating Effects of Continuous-Related Career Learning (지속경력학습의 선행 및 결과변인과 매개효과)

  • The present study is aimed to investigate antecedents(person-job fit, human capital investment) and outcome variable(subjective career success) of continuous-related career learning, and to demonstrate mediating effects of continuous-related career learning. The data which was applied to analysis was collected from 241 office workers who have worked for automobile company in Ulsan and public companies in Jeju and applied temporal separation of measurement as an alternative for common method bias. The results are as follows. First, person-job fit, human capital investment affected to career-related continuous learning positively. Second, the impacts of career-related continuous learning to subjective career success was positively significant. Third, the mediating effects by career-related continuous learning demonstrated statistically significant in the links between antecedents-outcome variables as partial mediation. Implications of this study contribute to expand research area of continuous-related career learning with regard to job and organizational variables, and to facilitate of research interests on subjective career success. In addition, the mechanism of career advance was empirically proved by continuous-related career learning.
