A Study on Polar Converting Logic of BTT Missiles (BTT 유도탄의 하중계수 분배논리 연구)

  • This paper presents polar converting logic(PCL) of BTT missiles against slowly moving or stationary targets. A guidance commands expressed in rectangular coordinates must be converted in the form of polar coordinates for BTT control. Since conventional PCL has nonlinear and discontinuous function, the missiles may lose controllability when pitch acceleration command equals to zero. Further, roll coupling may have a serious unstabilizing influence on homing guidance with two gimbals seeker. In this paper, a linear homotopy equation is introduced to improve the controllability and a command following performance at midcourse phase. We also design a PCL which is less sensitive to pitch acceleration command so that it may improve the stability of the homing loop. To substantiate our conclusion, results of the computer simulation have been illustrated.

A Simple Average Power Theory and Modified Compensation Performance Evaluation of Active Power Filters (능동전력필터의 간단한 평균전력이론과 수정된 보상성능 평가법)

  • The fictitious power theory in time domain is very easy to understand, but power analyzing speed of active power is increased, because power is analyzed using signal tedmiques based on the corre1ation between voltage and current wavefonns. Also, conventional methods in time/frequency domain to evaluate the correlation performance of active power filters are not provided easy solutions. So, the authors have previously proposed 3-D current coordinates which is composed into active component, fundarrental reactive component and distorted component of nonlinear loads current. This trethod has excellent perfonnance, but can not evaluate the characteristics of nonlinear load current whether It is inductive or capacitive. Therefore, To overcorre problems trentioned previously, this paper deals with the simple average power theory and the modified 3-D current coordinates for evaluating the compensation perfonnance of active power filters. To confirm the validity, active power filter simulator is developed using C-language. From the simulation, results are discussed their utility.tility.

  • A mobile manipulator - a serial connection of a mobile robot and a task robot - is a very useful system to achieve various tasks in dangerous environment, because it has the higher performance than a fixed base manipulator in terms of its operational workspace size as well as efficiency. A method for estimating the position of an object in the Cartesian coordinate system based upon the geometrical relationship between the image captured by 2-DOF active camera mounted on mobile robot and the real object, is proposed. With this Position estimation, a method of determining an optimal path for the mobile manipulator from the current position to the position of object estimated by the image information using homogeneous matrices. Finally, the corresponding joint parameters to make the desired displacement are calculated to capture the object through the control of a manipulator. The effectiveness of proposed method is demonstrated by the simulation and real experiments using the mobile manipulator.

  • In this paper, a new algorithm for the segmentation of the multi moving objects at the 3 dimension space and the method of measuring the distance from the camera to the moving object by using stereo video monitoring system is proposed. It get the input image of left and right from the stereo video monitoring system, and the area of the multi moving objects segmented by using adaptive threshold and PRA(pixel recursive algorithm). Each of the object segmented by window mask, then each coordinate value and stereo disparity of the multi moving objects obtained from the window masks. The distance of the multi moving objects can be calculated by this disparity, the feature of the stereo vision system and the trigonometric function. From the experimental results, the error rate of a distance measurement be existed within 7.28%, therefore, in case of implementation the proposed algorithm, the stereo security system, the automatic moving robot system and the stereo remote control system will be applied practical application.

Simple Camera Calibration Using Neural Networks (신경망을 이용한 간단한 카메라교정)

  • Camera calibration is a procedure which calculates internal and external parameters of a camera with the Down world coordinates of the control points. Accurate camera calibration is required for achieving accurate visual measurements. In this paper, we propose a simple and flexible camera calibration using neural networks which doesn't require a special knowledge of 3D geometry and camera optics. There are some applications which are not in need of the values of the internal and external parameters. The proposed method is very useful to these applications. Also, the proposed camera calibration has advantage that resolves the ill-condition as object plane is near parallel image plane. The ill-condition is frequently met in product inspection. For little more accurate calibration, acquired image is divided into two regions according to radial distortion of lens and neural network is applied to each region. Experimental results and comparison with Tsai's algorithm prove the validity of the proposed camera calibration.

  • Recently, the digital signages display not only the rectangular shapes but also the various shapes and sizes. The high-resolution large-screen display monitors have evolved to multi-vision modes in which several screens are connected to one another. In this paper, we present the structure of an atypically shaped signage system in which the ROI changes with the rotation of the multiple displays. The inclination angle of the monitor is calculated by taking the output value of the gyro sensor inter-locked with the Arduino, and an image in which the position of the four corners is varied according to the rotation angle by using the polar coordinate system. In order to display images in the multi-screen environment, multiple displays with a gyro sensor were controlled using serial communication. As the result, we have obtained the flexibly moving monitor systems with associated images fitting in them.

  • The instantaneous power theory have been considered as efficient theory in recent years, because it is easier to understand numerical representation and more soft to control PWM power converter on $\alpha$-$\beta$ stationary reference frame. From the forgoing theory, with regard to the calculating process of compensating reference current, there are many induced components of current/ power, and these components have consequently influence on physical interpretation of instantaneous power theory. Especially, beginners for studing the instantaneous power theory don't have enough informations for standard waveform of induced $\alpha$-$\beta$ components. Therefore, this paper describes simulation works using MATLAB/SIMULINK for $\alpha$-$\beta$ space trajectories and waveforms of $\alpha$-$\beta$ current and power components, induced from the instantaneous power theory. It is respected that the results in this paper are serviceable as basic information to assist beginner for studing the instantaneous power theory.

  • The 3-D shape use to effect of movie, animation, industrial design, medical treatment service, education, engineering etc.... But it's not easy to make 3-D shape from the information of 2-D image. There are two methods in restoring 3-D video image through 2-D image; First the method of using a laser; Secondly the method of acquiring 3-D image through stereo vision. Instead of doing two methods with many difficulties, I figure out the method of simple 3-D image in this research paper. We present here a simple and efficient method, called direct calibration, which doesn't require any equations at all. The direct calibration procedure builds a lookup table(LUT) linking image and 3-D coordinates by a real 3-D triangulation system. The LUT is built by measuring the image coordinates of a grid of known 3-D points, and recording both image and world coordinates for each point; the depth values of all other visible points are obtained by interpolation.

Control of Particle Size and Luminescence Property in Zn$_2$SiO$_4$:Mn Green Phosphor (Zn$_2$SiO$_4$:Mn 녹색형광체의 입도제어 및 발광특성)

  • In order to improve the optical Performance of green emitting phosphor for plasma display panel (PDP) application, the wet chemical method for preparing $Zn_{2-x}$ $SiO_4$:xMn (xi=0.02. 0.08) phosphor was designed. The spherical phosphor particles were obtained and the size can be between 0.5$\mu\textrm{m}$ and 2$\mu\textrm{m}$. The formation of phosphor, which had the willemite structure, was completed at relatively low temperature of 108$0^{\circ}C$. Also, photoluminescence Properties of the phosphors prepared were investigated under vacuum ultraviolet excitation. In particular, the emission intensity of Zn$_2$SiO$_4$:0.08Mn phosphor having the 1$\mu\textrm{m}$ of particle size was higher than that of commercial phosphor by 40%. The decay time of zinc silicate powder prepared as containing 8 mole% of manganese has been measured as 7.8ms.

Weighted Averaged Flux Method for Computation of Shallow Water Equations (WAF 기법을 이용한 천수방정식 해석)

  • A numerical model for the solution of two-dimensional free surface flow is developed on unstructured grid. By using fractional step method, the two-dimensional shallow water equations (SWE) are treated as two one-dimensional problems. Thus, it is possible to simulate computational hydraulic problems with higher computational efficiency. The one-dimensional problems are solved using upwind TVD version of second-order Weighted Averaged Flux (WAF) scheme with HLLC approximate Riemann solver. The numerical oscillations which are common with second-order numerical scheme are controlled by exploiting WAF flux limiter, Some idealized test problems are solved using this model and very accurate and stable solutions are obtained. It can be concluded as an efficient implement for the computation of SWE including dam break problems that concerning discontinuities, subcritical and supercritical flows and complex domain.
