For Talents Cultivation in the 4th Industrial Revolution Era, Servant Leadership Quotient (SLQ) Scale Development and Validity Study (4차 산업혁명시대 인재양성을 위한 서번트 리더십 지수(SLQ) 척도 개발 및 타당도 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and validate the measure of individual Servant Leadership Quotient (SLQ). For the purpose, a total of 100 questions were composed based on the relevant literature and previous studies. As a result of exploratory factor analysis, it was classified into five factors, and the final choice corresponds to 40 questions. The first factor comprises thirteen items reflecting listening (5 items), empathy (4 items), healing (4 items), and the second factor consists of nine items which are futuristic view (2 items), stewardship (3 items), commitment to the growth of others (4 items), community building (4 questions). The third factor is conceptualization (5 questions), the fourth factor is recognition (5 questions), and the fifth factor is persuasion (4 questions). The reliability of the final selected items was .97, and there was a statistically high correlation between the overall Servant Leadership Quotient and the subfactors within the range of r = .788 ~ .872. As a result of one-way ANOVA to find out the relationship between demographic variables, the overall Servant Leadership Quotient was not different according to gender, but it was significantly different among elementary, middle, high school students and adults. As a result of the post-test, there were no differences among the student groups (elementary and middle school) in the overall Servant Leadership Quotient, but there were differences between the early adult and middle adult groups. This study is meaningful because the questions are structured to measure individual Servant Leadership Quotient (SLQ), which goes beyond the scope of groups or organizations Servant Leadership Quotient.

A The Moderating Effects of Perceived Organizational Support in the Effect of Work Value on Turnover Intention -Focuse on Food-service Industry Newcomers Less than 1 Year- (직업가치가 이직의도에 미치는 영향에 있어 조직후원인식의 조절효과 -외식업체 1년 미만 신입종사원을 중심으로-)

  • This study verified the effect of occupational value, as felt by new employees working in the food service industry, on turnover intent and also the moderating effect of perceived organizational support between occupational value and turnover intent. The analysis drew out the following results. First, the study verified that, among inherent values, only social commitment had a positive(+) direction of influence on turnover intent, and second, among extrinsic values, only face-saving and stability seeking had a positive(+) direction of influence on turnover intent. Third, as a result of verifying the effect of inherent values on turnover intent according to emotional support, the study revealed that turnover intent increased, as the perception of emotional support increased, on condition that the item, value of knowledge seeking, among inherent values, was perceived highly, On the other hand, if the item, relationship-centered, scored highly among inherent values, then the higher the perception of emotional support, the lower the turnover intent. Fourth, as a result of verifying the effect of extrinsic values on turnover intent according to emotional support, the study revealed that turnover intent decreased, as the perception of emotional support increased, on condition that the value of economic priority, among extrinsic values, was perceived highly. On the other hand, if the item, face-saving, scored highly among extrinsic values, then the higher the perception of emotional support, the higher the turnover intent. Fifth, as a result of verifying the differing effect of inherent values according to methodical support, the study revealed that turnover intent increased as the perception of methodical support increased, if the item, knowledge-seeking among inherent values was perceived highly. Sixth, as a result of verifying the differing effect of extrinsic values according to methodical support, the study revealed that turnover intent decreased as the perception of methodical support increased, if the item, economic priority among extrinsic values was perceived highly. On the other hand, if the item, face-saving, among extrinsic values, was perceived highly, the higher the perception of methodical support, the higher the turnover intent.

The Study of Korean-style Leadership (The Great Cause?Oriented and Confidence-Oriented Leadership) (대의와 신뢰 중시의 한국형 리더십 연구)

  • This research analyzes some Korean historical figures and presents the core values of their leaderships so that we can bring up the theory of leadership which would be compatible with the current circumstances around Korea. Through this work, we expected that we would not only find out typical examples among historical leaders but also reaffirm our identities in our history. As a result of the research, it was possible to classify some figures in history into several patterns and discover their archetypal qualities. Those qualities were 'transform(實事)', 'challenge(決死)', 'energize(風流)', 'create(創案)', and 'envision(開新)' respectively. Among the qualities, this research concentrated on the quality of 'challenge', exclusively 'death-defying spirit'. This spirit is the one with which historical leaders could sacrifice their lives for their great causes. This research selected twelve figures as incarnations of death-defying spirit, who are Gyebaek(階伯), Ganggamchan(姜邯贊), Euljimundeok(乙支文德), Choeyoung(崔瑩),ChungMongju(鄭夢周), Seongsammun (成三問), Yisunsin(李舜臣), Gwakjaewoo(郭再祐), Choeikhyeon(崔益鉉), Anjunggeun(安重根), Yunbonggil(尹奉吉), Yijun(李儁). Through analyzing their core values and abilities and categorizing some historical cases into four spheres such as a private sphere, relations sphere, a community sphere, and a society sphere, we came to find a certain element in common among those figures. It was that they eventually took the lead by showing the goal and the ideal to their people at all times. Moreover, their goals were always not only obvious but also unwavering. In the second chapter, I described the core value in a private sphere, so called '志靑靑'. It implies that a leader should set his ultimate goal and then try to attain it with an unyielding will. Obvious self-confidence and unfailing self-creed are core values in a private sphere. In the third chapter, I described the core value in a relative sphere, the relationship between one and others. It is '守信結義'. It indicates that a leader should win confidence from others by discharging his duties in the relation with others. Confidence is the highest leveled affection to others. Thus, mutual reliance should be based on truthful sincerity and affection toward others. Stubbornness and strictness are needed not to be prompted by pity simultaneously. In the fourth chapter, I described the core value in a community sphere. It is '丹心合力'. For this value, what are required to a leader are both his community spirit and his loyalty to one's community. Moreover, the strong sense of responsibility and the attitude of taking an initiative among others are also required. Thus, it can be said that the great power to conduct the community is so called fine teamwork. What's more, the attitude of the leader can exert a great influence on his community. In the fifth chapter, I described the core value of death defying spirit in the society sphere. This value might be more definite and explicit than other ones described above. A leader should prepare willingly for one's death to fulfill his great duties. 'What to do' is more important for a leader than 'how to do'. That is to say, a leader should always do righteous things. Efficiency is nothing but one of his interests. A leader must be the one who behaves himself always according to righteousness. Unless a leader's behaviors are based on righteousness, it is absolutely impossible that a leader exerts his leadership toward people very efficiently. Thus, it can be said that a true leader is the one not only who is of morality and but also who tries to fulfill his duties.

A Study on Outplacement Countermeasure and Retention Level Examination Analysis about Outplacement Competency of Special Security Government Official (특정직 경호공무원의 전직역량에 대한 보유수준 분석 및 전직지원방안 연구)

  • This study is to summarize main contents which was mentioned by Beomseok Kim' doctoral dissertation. The purpose of this study focuses on presenting the outplacement countermeasure and retention level examination analysis about outplacement competency of special security government official through implement of questionnaire method. The questionnaire for retention level examination including four groups of outplacement competency and twenty subcategories was implemented in the object of six hundered persons relevant to outplacement more than forty age and five grade administration official of special security government officials, who have outplacement experiences as outplacement successors, outplacement losers, and outplacement expectants, in order to achieve this research purpose effectively. The questionnaire examination items are four groups of outplacement competency and twenty subcategories which are the group of knowledge competency & four subcategories including expert knowledge, outplacement knowledge, self comprehension, and organization comprehension, the group of skill competency & nine subcategories including job skill competency, job performance skill, problem-solving skill, reforming skill, communication skill, organization management skill, crisis management skill, career development skill, and human network application skill, the group of attitude-emotion competency & seven subcategories including positive attitude, active attitude, responsibility, professionalism, devoting-sacrificing attitude, affinity, and self-controlling ability, and the group of value-ethics competency & two subcategories including ethical consciousness and morality. The respondents highly regard twenty-two outplacement competency and they consider themselves well-qualified for the subcategories valued over 4.0 such as the professional knowledge, active attitude, responsibility, ethics and morality while they mark the other subcategories below average still need to be improved. Thus, the following is suggestions for successful outplacement. First, individual effort is essential to strengthen their capabilities based on accurate self evaluation, for which the awareness and concept need to be redefined to help them face up to the reality by readjusting career goal to a realistic level. Second, active career development plan to improve shortcoming in terms of outplacement competency is required. Third, it is necessary to establish the infrastructure related to outplacement training such as ON-OFF Line training system and facilities for learning to reinforce user-oriented outplacement training as a regular training course before during after the retirement.

Quantitative Expression Analysis of Functional Genes in Four Dog Breeds (개의 네 품종에서 기능 유전자들에 대한 정량적 발현 분석)

  • One of the domesticated species; the dog has been selectively bred for various aims by human. The dog has many breeds, which are artificially selected for specific behaviors and morphologies. Dogs contribute their life to human as working dogs for guide, rescue, detection or etc. Working dogs requires good personality, such as gentleness, robustness and patience for performing their special duty. Many studies have concentrated on finding genetic marker for selecting the high-quality working dog. In this study, we confirmed quantitative expression patterns of eight genes (ABAT; 4-Aminobutyrate Aminotransferase, PLCB1; Phospholipase C, Beta 1, SLC10A4; Solute Carrier Family 10, Member 4, WNT1; Wingless-Type MMTV Integration Site Family, Member 1, BARX2; BarH-Like Homeobox 2, NEUROD6; Neuronal Differentiation 6, SEPT9; Septin 9 and TBR1; T-Box, Brain, 1) among brains tissues from four dog breeds (Beagle, Sapsaree, Shepherd and Jindo), because these genes were expressed and have functions in brain mostly. Specially, BARX2, SEPT9, SLC10A4, TBR1 and WNT1 genes were highly expressed in Beagle and Jindo, and Sapsaree and German Shepherd were vice versa. The biological significance of total genes was estimated by database for annotation, visualization and integrated discovery (DAVID) to determine a different gene ontology (GO) class. In these analyses, we suppose to these eight genes could provide influential information for brain development, and intelligence of organisms. Taken together, these results could provide clues to discover biomarker related to functional traits in brain, and beneficial for selecting superior working dogs.

An Exploratory Study on Determinants Affecting R Programming Acceptance (R 프로그래밍 수용 결정 요인에 대한 탐색 연구)

  • R programming is free and open source system associated with a rich and ever-growing set of libraries of functions developed and submitted by independent end-users. It is recognized as a popular tool for handling big data sets and analyzing them. Reflecting these characteristics, R has been gaining popularity from data analysts. However, the antecedents of R technology acceptance has not been studied yet. In this study we identify and investigates cognitive factors contributing to build user acceptance toward R in education environment. We extend the existing technology acceptance model by incorporating social norms and software capability. It was found that the factors of subjective norm, perceived usefulness, ease of use affect positively on the intention of acceptance R programming. In addition, perceived usefulness is related to subjective norms, perceived ease of use, and software capability. The main difference of this research from the previous ones is that the target system is not a stand-alone. In addition, the system is not static in the sense that the system is not a final version. Instead, R system is evolving and open source system. We applied the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to the target system which is a platform where diverse applications such as statistical, big data analyses, and visual rendering can be performed. The model presented in this work can be useful for both colleges that plan to invest in new statistical software and for companies that need to pursue future installations of new technologies. In addition, we identified a modified version of the TAM model which is extended by the constructs such as subjective norm and software capability to the original TAM model. However one of the weak aspects that might inhibit the reliability and validity of the model is that small number of sample size.
