  • In an effort to identify predictors of job performance, research studies in social work administration has been so far on the individual practitioners' levels of knowledge and skills, which could be used in a workplace. As the theoretical concept of organizational environment was fully introduced into social work administration research, however, studies on practitioners' job performance began to have interest in the team or the organizational level variables as well as individual level variables. Along the course of this tendency, this study attempted to test the effect of individual, team, and organizational level variables on the job performance of human service workers. The individual level variables consisted of knowledge, skills, job satisfaction, personality, and counter-productive work behaviors of workers. The team or the organizational level variables included situational constraint, organizational justice, job characteristics, government-dependency, and inter-organizational cooperation. Multi-level complex survey data collected by cluster sampling method from 314 practitioners in 23 organizations were analyzed using Hierarchial Linear Model. Results showed that both task and contextual performance were affected by individual, team, and organizational level variables in various ways.

The questionnaire listed about the organizational conflict and the organizational effectiveness were used in this study. For the analysis of the questionnaire, frequency, percentage, reliability, and regression were used as statistical tools. In the results, the teacher's academic backgrounds, career, and marital status seem to have an influence on the organizational conflict. The hierarchical conflict in child-care centers has a more negative influence on organizational effectiveness than the functional conflict.

These data were analyzed by both descriptive statistics and One-way ANOVA with Random Effects, Ranmdom-Coefficients Regression Model, and Intercepts-and Slopes-as-Outcomes Model of hierarchical linear model(HLM). All data analysis was accomplished using the SPSS 20.0 for windows program and the HLM 6.0 for windows program. An alpha level of 0.05 was established priori for determining the significance. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the level of receptivity to organizational change of professions in junior college was 3.94. Second, 56.5% of total variance in receptivity to organizational change was individual level variance. 43.5% of total variance in receptivity to organizational change was organizational level variance. • This study seeks to verify the effect size of the variables relating to job satisfaction through a meta-analysis focusing on previous papers over the last 20 years that have examined the job satisfaction of kindergarten teachers and verified the trend by publication year through a meta-regression analysis. The study results are as follows. First, the results demonstrated that the total effect size of the variables relating to kindergarten teachers was large. Second, the organization's internal variable and organization's external variable groups, except for the individual characteristics variable group, showed a large effect size at similar levels. Third, the status of teachers in the individual characteristics variable group showed a meaningfully large effect size and the interpersonal relationship variable in organization's internal variable group showed a relatively larger effect size than the organizational climate variable did. Finally, the results of the verification of the trend by publication year showed that job satisfaction increased for all variables, except for the individual characteristics variable in more recent publications. This study highlights the imperative of making every effort to improve the organization's internal and external environment. In particular, measures to reduce job stress and work load are required. Furthermore, the atmosphere that is devoted to the teaching profession and teacher efficacy is important.

  • This study aimed to investigate the influence of power distance on organizational outcome variables from the perspective of employee-organizational fit. Through cluster analysis, we sought to identify the subgroups that exist based on the combination of employees' power distance and organizational power distance. Additionally, we examined whether differences exist among these subgroups in terms of positive and negative organizational outcomes. A total of 398 participants were included in the study, and three distinct clusters were identified through cluster analysis. Cluster 1 comprised individuals with low power distance among employees and high power distance within the organization(LH), Cluster 2 consisted of individuals with high power distance in both employees and organizations(HH), and Cluster 3 represented individuals with significantly higher power distance among employees compared to their respective organizations(HL). When analyzing the differences between these three subgroups in relation to organizational outcomes, no significant differences were found in positive work affects. Overall, the LH group exhibited the most favorable organizational results, while the HH group displayed the most negative organizational outcomes. In light of these findings, we discussed the academic and practical implications of this study, as well as its limitations.
