Traditionally fermented Cheonggukjangs were collected from Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces and 22 strains were isolated and identified by using 165 rDNA sequences. Most of the identified strains were Bacillus subtilis and B. licheniformis, B. subtilis and B. licheniformis are dominant in the Gyeonggi area and B. licheniformis in the Gangwon area. In the growth pattern of the isolated strains, the duration of lag phase was generally 5 to 7 hours and stationary phase was reached after 23 to 40 hours of incubation. Total cell populations at the stationary phase were between $1{\times}10^6\;CFU/ml$ and $5{\times}10^7\;CFU/ml$. The fermenting ability of carbohydrates of isolates showed some differences among the regions. The isolated strains from Yong-In, Gyeonggi showed higher fermenting abilities with D-xylose, xylitol, D-tagatose and Methyl-$\alpha$-D-mannopyranoside. D-lactose, D-tagatose, D-xylose, Methyl-$\alpha$-D-mannopyranoside, amygdalin, arbutin, esculin and 2-keto-gluconate were well fermented with the An-Seong's strains; L-rhamnose, inositol, D-mannitol, D-sorbitol, celibiose and gluconate with the Kawang-Ju's stains; and D-lactose with the Odaesan's strains.

A numerical method for a 2-D oil boom model considering the flexibility of skirt has been developed The neater is assumed rigid and the skirt is tensioned membrane having a point mass at its end The fluid motion is potential. The kinematic condition which demands the continuity of the displacement is imposed at the joint between the floater and the skirt. The dynamic condition for the point mass is imposed at the bottom end of the skirt. The numerical method is based on the Green's function method in the frame of linear potential theory. It finds it's solution simultaneously from the total system of three equations, integral equation, the equation of motion of the floater and the equilibrium equation of the deformation of the skirt. Integral equation is derived by applying the Green's theorem to radiation potential and Green's function. Proper descretization of those three equations leads to the system of a linear algebraic equation. Due to the flexibility of skirt the motion of floater can be diminished in some range of wave frequency and furthermore the mechanism of resonance of the oil boom can be changed. The motion responses of various oil booms have been compared varying the length of the skirt and the point mass. The numerical method has been validated indirectly from the good correspondence between the motion responses of the flexible skirt model and the rigid skirt model in low frequency limit.
In the numerical weather model, surface properties can be defined by various parameters such as terrain height, landuse, surface albedo, soil moisture, surface emissivity, roughness length and so on. And these parameters need to be improved in the Seoul metropolitan area that established high-rise and complex buildings by urbanization at a recent time. The surface roughness length map is developed from digital elevation model (DEM) and it is implemented to the high-resolution numerical weather (WISE-WRF) model. Simulated results from WISE-WRF model are analyzed the relationship between meteorological variables to changes in the surface roughness length. Friction speed and wind speed are improved with various surface roughness in urban, these variables affected to temperature and relative humidity and hence the surface roughness length will affect to the precipitation and Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL) height. When surface variables by the WISE-WRF model are validated with Automatic Weather System (AWS) observations, NEW experiment is able to simulate more accurate than ORG experiment in temperature and wind speed. Especially, wind speed is overestimated over $2.5m\;s^{-1}$ on some AWS stations in Seoul and surrounding area but it improved with positive correlation and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) below $2.5m\;s^{-1}$ in whole area. There are close relationship between surface roughness length and wind speed, and the change of surface variables lead to the change of location and duration of precipitation. As a result, the accuracy of WISE-WRF model is improved with the new surface roughness length retrieved from DEM, and its surface roughness length is important role in the high-resolution WISE-WRF model. By the way, the result in this study need various validation from retrieved the surface roughness length to numerical weather model simulations with observation data.

We monitored on the hitchhiker insect pests from a total of 112 foreign vessels entering into Korea during 109 days from 1. Jun. to 17. Sep. in 2018. As the results, a total of 336 samples of the hitchhiker insects were collected using simply collecting method by hands, one of interception method and identified as 159 species of 47 families under nine orders on the basis of integrative species identification. Among them, 14 species of nine families under three orders were detected as undistributed species in South Korea. We reported on the 14 undistributed species in South Korea with the data sheets for the risk assessments on invasive or invasive likelihood species. Also, we suggested and used the term 'not-distributed species' for avoiding confusion with 'unrecorded species', 'unreported species', or 'new reported species'.
This paper represents the statistical characteristics of sources and receptors for road traffic noise in apartment complex. Also we suggested that the site-specific characteristics of vertical and horizontal distributions in the complex apartment have been derived using a different analysis for evaluating levels of Leq1h by the apartment floor at a given distance from a road in terms of the flow rate, the mean speed of the traffic, and the percentage of the type vehicles in the day and night periods. As a result, the contribution orders of traffic quantity by the type of vehicles showed as followed: light vehicle>medium vehicle>heavy vehicle>motorcycle. Especially, the mixing ratio of entering the road on the heavy vehicle in the daytime was two times higher than that of in the night. The speed in all types of vehicle is in the range of 41 and 81 km/hr and noise level was not significantly different in day and night-time. The sources of road traffic noise had different variations and uncertainties using a random variable and probability distribution. The sound distribution to receptors by the apartment floor showed S curve between 1st floor and $15^{th}$ floor With the normality test, the normal distributions using Anderson-Darling Test followed $1^{st},\;3^{th},\;13^{th}$ and $15^{th}$, floor in the daytime and all floors except $7^{th}$ floor in the night (p>0.05). And also, the value of the pearson correlation coefficient (r) obtained in this study have significantly different at the range of floor. In conclusion, the results suggested that the distribution characteristics of levels of $Leq_{1h}$ on the sources and receptors of road traffic noise in apartment complex must be improved and developed on the guideline of regulation of road traffic noise.

Global solar radiation was calculated in this research using ground-base measurement data, meteorological satellite data, and GWNU (Gangneung-Wonju National University) solar radiation model. We also analyzed the accuracy of the GWNU model by comparing the observed solar radiation according to the total cloud cover. Our research was based on the global solar radiation of the GWNU radiation site in 2012, observation data such as temperature and pressure, humidity, aerosol, total ozone amount data from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) sensor, and Skyview data used for evaluation of cloud mask and total cloud cover. On a clear day when the total cloud cover was 0 tenth, the calculated global solar radiations using the GWNU model had a high correlation coefficient of 0.98 compared with the observed solar radiation, but root mean square error (RMSE) was relatively high, i.e., $36.62Wm^{-2}$. The Skyview equipment was unable to determine the meteorological condition such as thin clouds, mist, and haze. On a cloudy day, regression equations were used for the radiation model to correct the effect of clouds. The correlation coefficient was 0.92, but the RMSE was high, i.e., $99.50Wm^{-2}$. For more accurate analysis, additional analysis of various elements including shielding of the direct radiation component and cloud optical thickness is required. The results of this study can be useful in the area where the global solar radiation is not observed by calculating the global solar radiation per minute or time.
Fenton’s oxidation process is one of the most commonly applied processes to the wastewater which cannot be treated by conventional biological treatment processes. However, it is necessary to minimize the cost of Fenton’s oxidation treatment by modifying the treatment processes or other means of chemical treatment. So, as a method for the chemical oxidation of biorefractory or nonbiodegradable organic pollutants, the Photo-Fenton-Reaction which utilizes iron(11)salt. $H_2O$$_2$ and UV-light simultaneously has been proprosed. Therfore, the purpose of this study is to test a removal efficiency of dye-wastewater and treatment cost with Fenton’s and Photo-Fenton’s oxidation process. The Fe(11)/$H_2O$$_2$ reagent is referred to as the fenton’s reagent. which produces hydroxy radicals by the interaction of Fe(11) with $H_2O$$_2$. In this exoeriment, the main results are as followed; 1. The Fenton oxidation was most efficient in the pH range of 3-5. The optimal condition for initial reaction pH was 3.5 for the high CO $D_{Cr}$ & TOC-removal efficiency. 2. The removal efficiency of TOC and CO $D_{Cr}$ increased up to the molar ration between ferrate and hydrogen peroxide 0.2:1, but above that ratio removal efficiency hardly increased. 3. The highest removal efficiency of TOC and CO $D_{Cr}$ were showed when the mole ration of ferrate to hydrogen peroxide was 0.2:3.4. 4. Without pretreatment process, photo-fenton oxidation which was not absorbed UV light was not different to fenton oxidation. 5. And Fenton oxidtion with pretreatment process was similar to Fenton oxidation in the absence of coagulation, the proper dosage of F $e^{2+}$: $H_2O$$_2$ was 0.2:1 for the optimal removal efficiency of TOC or CO $D_{Cr}$ .6. Also, TOC & CO $D_{Cr}$ removal efficiency in the photo-fenton oxidation with pretreatment was increased when UV light intensity enhanced.7. Optimum light intensity in the range from 0 to 1200 W/$m^2$ showed that UV-intensity with 1200W/$m^2$ was the optimum condition, when F $e_{2+}$:$H_2O$$_2$ ratio for the highest decomposition was 0.2:2.5.EX>$_2$ ratio for the highest decomposition was 0.2:2.5.
This study was carried out to find the optimal condition to treat refractory organic matter which can’t treat clearly with biological treatment and to find the optimal division dosage and division dose timing in the modification of Fenton oxidation which is used resolve the problem that hydrogen peroxide is too expensive. The results are following; 1. The highest TOC removal efficiency was 41% and color removal efficiency was 64% when the dilution magnitude of leachate is fold. This suggests that dilution is efficiency when high concentration of leachate is treated. 2. The removal efficiency of TOC and color increased up to the molar ratio between ferrate and hydrogen peroxide was 1:1. However above that ratio, removal efficiency hardly increased. The highest removal efficiency of TOC and color were 38% and 71% when the mole ratio of ferrate to hydrogen peroxide was 1.5:1. 3. When the mole ratio between ferrate and hydrogen peroxide was fixed, the removal efficiency of TOC and color increased as the dosage of hydrogen peroxide increased. 4. pH of samples were adjusted at pH 3, 5, 7, 9, 11. After oxidation reaction, pH of samples were dropped to 2.59, 2.54, 5.34, 6.36 and 9.68. The highest color removal efficiency was 75.7% when initial pH was at pH 7. 5. The removal of TOC and color was ended within 10. min. and the removal efficiency increased logarithmically within 10min. However after 10 min., the removal efficiency of hardly increased. 6. The color removal efficiency was higher with modification of fentone oxidation than that with fentone oxidation by 5%. Optimal division dosage ratio was 1:1 and optimal dose timing ratio was 2:1. However the TOC removal efficiency was not higher with modification of Fenton oxidation than that with Fenton oxidation.7. The CO $D_{Mn}$ /BO $D_{5}$ Ratio decreased with the time went by. It meant bioresolution increased as time went by. However, after 15 min., the CO $D_{Mn}$ /BO $D_{5}$ Ratio did not decrease any more. 8. In the case of $H_2O$$_2$ Divisiom Dose experiment, the increase of bioresolution was highest at the $H_2O$$_2$ Division dosage Ratio of 3:7.3:7.

We have carried out highway traffic noise prediction and measurement for 10 sites with representative road shapes and structures. A road traffic noise prediction model(NIER('99)) has been developed for environmental impact assessment in Korea. With the fitted regression analysis, the distribution ratio($R^2$) and Pearson correction coefficient(r) was 92.4% and 0.96 in $1^{st}$ floor, 38.7% and 0.66 in $3^{rd}$ floor, 42% and 0.65 in $5^{th}$ floor, 7.5% and 0.27 in $7^{th}$ floor, 28.4% and 0.53 in 10th floor, 35.6% and 0.60 in $13^{th}$ floor, 52.7% and 0.73 in $15^{th}$ floor, respectively. The measured values of the noise level except the 1st floor did not show a good agreement with the predicted noise level in the NIER('99) formula. Also, the NIER('99) formula demonstrated that the measured values weren't reasonably close to the predicted values, indicating the validity and adequacy of the predicted models with the fitted vs residual analysis in the 95% of confidence interval and 95% of predict interval. Using the equal variation on the basis of the residual vs fitted value, there was the significant difference for variation between $3^{rd}$ floor and $15^{th}$ floor except $1^{st}$ floor. The results suggested that the NIER('99) model obtained by the results according to the apartment floor must be improved and developed on the road traffic noise.

In order to elucidate a degradation characteristics of herbicide mefenacet in soil, the persistence in soils was studied under laboratory conditions for $90\sim120$ days at $28^{\circ}C$. Mefenacet residues were determined from the two soils which pre-treated by sterilization and flooding, respectively. Non-sterilized upland soil was used as a control. When 70 days elapsed from application time, $55\sim63%$ of mefenacet applied were dissipated in control soils. However, $32\sim33%$ of mefenacet applied were dissipated in the sterilized soils and $33\sim35%$ was dissipated in the flooded soils. 까 lese results indicated that the degradation of mefenacet was assumed to be due to microorganism, especially aerobic microbes. In order to elucidate the influence of water content on the persistence of mefenacet in soil, water content in soils was adjusted to 20, 50, and 80% of the water-holding capacity(Field capacity, WHC). The half-life of mefenacet in soil containing 20% and 50% of WHC were 82 and 73 days, respectively, after incubation for 90 days. However, the half-life in soil containing 80% of WHC was shortened to 61 days. These results indicated that degradation of mefenacet in soil was influenced by the activity of soil microorganism, organic matter content and water content.
