GaN 기반 Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs)의 효율 저하에 대한 Electron Blocking Layer (EBL) 영향 조사

  • InGaN/GaN LEDs는 1993년에 처음 소개 된 이래로, 성장, 제품 면에서 끊임없는 발전을 이루어 왔다. 따라서 GaN 기반의 LED는 조명, 디스플레이 그리고 후광 발광판 등 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 현재 GaN 기반의 LED는 낮은 작동전류에서 높은 내부, 외부 효율을 보인다고 알려져 있다. 그러나 LED는 보통 높은 작동 전류에서 사용하고 있는데 이 전류 값에서 'Efficiency Droop'이라 하는 효율 저하가 나타난다. 이 현상의 원인으로는 결함, Auger 영향, 캐리어 누설, 격자 불일치로 인한 내부 장 효과, 그리고 온도의 영향 등이 이 효율저하를 일으키는 주된 원인으로 생각되고 있다. 하지만 최근 효율저하의 원인에 대하여 결함, 그리고 온도 변화의 실험 등을 통하여 실험적으로 Auger 영향은 효율 저하의 원인으로 가능성이 매우 낮고 누설 전류가 효율저하의 주된 원인의 가능성이 높다고 많은 그룹에서 문제제기를 하고 있는 추세이다. 이 연구에서, 효율저하의 특성을 분석하기 위하여 GaN 기반의 EBL이 있는 LED와 없는 LED를 이용하였다. I-V 곡선, 주입 전류에 따른 반치폭의 변화와 스펙트럼의 변화, 그리고 외부 효율 등의 비교 분석을 통하여 효율 저하의 원인이 누설 전류에 의함이라고 분석을 할 수 있었다.

  • PdPt/C (Pd:Pt atomic ratio of around 19:1 60wt, %) 촉매를 고분자전해질 연료전지용 전극 촉매소재의 적용하였다. PdPt/C 촉매를 산화극 촉매로, 환원극 촉매로는 Pt/C 촉매를 사용하고 반대로 산화극 촉매는 Pt/C 촉매, 환원극 촉매로는 PdPt/C 촉매를 사용했을 때, PdPt/C 촉매를 산화극과 환원극 촉매로 동시에 사용했을 때의 고분자전해질 연료전지의 단위전지 성능을 각각 비교하였다. PdPt/C촉매를 산화극에만 적용했을 때에 Pt/C 상용촉매를 산화극과 환원극에 모두 적용했을 때의 성능만큼 좋은 성능을 확인할 수 있었다. 환원극 촉매는 Pt/C를 사용하고 산화극 촉매를 PdPt/C Pt/C Pd/C를 사용하였을 매의 성능을 비교하였다. Pd/C를 산화극 촉매로 사용한 단위전지가 나머지 두 경우의 성능에 비하여 현저히 떨어짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 극소량의 Pt 량을 포함한 PdPt/C 촉매가 고분자전해질 연료전지의 산화극 Pt/C 촉매의 대체촉매로 사용 가능함을 보여준다.

  • The sterol compositions of the Pelecypoda, M. sultataria, S. sachalinensis, and the Gastropoda, H. discus hannai Inc, T. cornutus were investigated. The results areas follows: 1. The contents of the unsaponifiables and sterols of the Pelecypoda, M. sulcataria, S. sathalinensis, and the Gastropoda, H. discus hannai Ino, T. cornutus, are $12.0\%,\;11.8\%,\;and\;16.2\%,\;15.3\%$, respectively. 2. The complex sterols from the Pelecypoda and Gastropoda are well separated on Silica Gel HF 254 TLC impregnated with $15\%$ silver nitrate. 3. The prominent sterols of the Pelecypoda, M. sulcateria and S. sachalinensis, are 22-trans-24-norcholesta-5, $22-dien-3\beta-ol$ $3.0\%\;3.9\%$ 22-dehydrocholesterol $6.7\%,\;10.2\%$, cholesterol $39.0\%,\;48.6\%$ brassicasterol $14.1\%,\;13.8\%$ 24-methylenecholesterol $19.4\%,\;11.5\%$, stigmasterol $2.4\%,\;0\%$ $\beta-sitosterol\;10.5\%,\;11.9\%$, and fucosterol $4.3\%,\;0\%$. 4. Abalone, H. discus hannai Ino, and T. cornutus contain cholesterol $98.0\%,=97.5\% as main component with small amounts of 22-dehydrocholesterol, brassicasterol and desmosterol. In H. discus hannai rno, 24-methylenecholesterot and fucosterol are also found.

  • For the enhanced oil recovery, one of the most important factors is to determine the surfactant formulation in chemical flood. The objective of this study is to analyze the microemulsion formed between the alkali-surfactant (AS) solution and A crude oil for screening surfactants. The alkali-surfactant solution was manufactured by using the surfactant purchased from AK ChemTech. $C_{16}-PO_7-SO_4$ and sodium carbonate solution were used as surfactant and alkaline, respectively. Both TEGBE and IBA were used as a co-solvent. The AS solution and A crude oil can form a Type III middle phase microemulsion at the salinity from 0.0 wt%~3.6 wt%. Increasing the salinity causes the phase transition of microemulsion from the lower (Type I) to middle (Type III) to upper (Type II) phase. Interfacial tension (IFT) values calculated by Huh's equation were in good agreement with ultralow IFT. According to this characteristic, the surfactant purchased from a domestic company can be applied to the enhanced oil recovery.

Reaction of Phosphorus Ylides with Carbonyl Compounds in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide (초임계 이산화탄소에서의 유기인 일리드와 카르보닐 화합물의 반응)

  • The condensation reaction of (benzylene)triphenylphosphoranes with carbonyl compounds in supercritical carbon dioxide was examined. Reactions of (benzylene)phosphoranes (ca. 1 mmol) with several benzaldehydes in a supercritical carbon dioxide (80 $^{\circ}C$, 2,000 psi) containing THF entrainer (5%) in a 24 mL reactor proceed smoothly to yield olefination products in fairly good to excellant yields but slower, compared to reactions in a conventional THF solvent. Generally, phosphoranes that are not substituted with a nitro group show more (Z)-selective reactions with aromatic aldehydes under $scCO_2$ condition than in THF. The reaction of (benzylene)triphenylphosphoranes with 4-t-butylcyclohexanone gave the corresponding olefin compounds with a low conversion under both the supercritical carbon dioxide and the organic THF solvent. Our preliminary study showed the Wittig reaction carries out smoothly in supercritical carbon dioxide medium and also a possibile tunability of this reaction pathway by adding a entrainer. The results would be useful for devising a novel process for the environmentally friendly Wittig reaction.

  • As an FMT (Filtered Multi-Tone) transmission method of Wideband VHF communication system specified by the ETS (European Telecommunications Standards) EN 300 392-2, this paper introduces three existing realization methods, i.e., the direct filtering method using different band SRRC (Square-Root Raised Cosine) filters for each subcarrier, the PPN-DFT method using the IDFT-PPN (Poly-Phase Network) and PPN-DFT at the transmitter and receiver, respectively, and the Extended DFT method. Then, it proposes the extended IDFT-SDFT (Sliding Discrete Fourier Transform) that computes the DFT values only for interested subcarriers every sample time, and shows that it has an advantage of blind symbol timing (using no training symbol) individually for each user signal (independently of other users' signals) in the multi-user environment where the subcarriers are assigned in contiguous or interleaved blocks to each user and each user signal possibly experiences different channels.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the recognition of traditional wedding food among the women living in Busan. It also investigated the differences of the recognition caused by demographic characteristics among them, which provides the data for a desirable wedding culture. A total of 270 samples for the study were collected from November 10 till 21 in 2007. For the analysis of the data, we used SPSS 14.0 to carry out the analysis of frequency and variance. The findings could be summarized as follows: the older one had more awareness of traditional wedding food. Especially the housewife had relatively more knowledge about Shinhyung-eumsik than any other occupation. The majority of respondents answered that Phaebak-eumsik is positively necessary for the wedding ceremony and simplification of wedding food is needed.

  • In this study, the hybrid authorization quotation technique is based on the device ID for the integrity of the source region guarantee of user certificate, in order to improve the convenience and security for user in the hybrid PKI certificate Mechanism for authentication. The feature of the model in which it is presented from this paper is 5. First, because the user can select the policy himself in which it matches with each authentication situation and security level, the convenience can be improved. Second, the integrity of the source region of the user certificate can be guaranteed through the comparison of the DLDI Key, that is the hash-value of the device ID. Third, the security can be improved by continuously changing an encoding, and the value of the key in which it decodes through the EOTP Key. Fourth, the index value is added to a certificate, and the storage of a certificate is possible at the Multi-Device. Fifth, since the addi the inan aratus for the integrity of the source region guarantee of a certificate is not needed, the authentication process time can be reduced and the computational load of the certificate server can be reduced also.

A Study on Temperature Analysis for Smart Electrical Power Devices (스마트 전력 기기의 온도 분석에 관한 연구)

  • An electrical power utility, like an electrical power pole, includes various kinds of sensors for smart services. Temperature data is considered one of the important factors that can influence the smart operations of this utility. This study suggests a method for temperature data analysis for deciding the status of the smart electrical power utilities by using Kalman Filter and Ensemble Model. The suggested approach separates the temperature data according to the different positions of the temperature sensors of a utility, then uses Kalman Filter and Ensemble Model to analyse the characteristics of the temperature variation. With detailed processes, method explains the variation between an external temperature factor like weather temperature data and the sensed temperature data, and then, analysis the temperature data from each position of electrical power utilities. In this process, the suggested method uses Kalman Filter to remove error data and the ensemble model to find out mean value of every hour of electrical data. The result and discussion of temperature analysis were described clearly with the analysed results of electrical data. Finally, we were able to check the working condition of the power devices and the range of the temperature data foe each devices, which may help to indicate any causalities with respect to the devices in the utility pole.

Ecological Studies of the Field Mouse (들쥐의 生態學的 硏究)

  • The present investigation has been done to observe the ecological habits of field mice to protect the rice from damages during the growing season in paddy-field and during the storge period. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. Of 155 mice captured in the period of April-November 1970, which belong to four genera (Apodemus, Cricetulus, Rattus, and Micromys), 148 mice(95%) were found as striped field mice (Apodemus agrarius coreae). The population density of striped field mouse was revealed by the present study as 55/ha, which is quite a low level compared with that in Japan of 900/ha. 2. The age distribution of the mice as judged by their body weight was found mainly composed of adult and the sex ratio was found to be 1.8 as determined with 147 individuals. The nest was found to be occupied by an adult and was composed of at least three openings and more than one food storage tunnels. The mice usually keep hulled rice rather than unhulled one in storage tunnel. The weight of food found in a nest was about 50 grams on an average. 3. The mice show a most active behaviour 1-2 hours after the sunset, around midnight, and an hour before the sunrise, but they are active even in daytime in order for searching for food and for breeding. 4. The ratio (%) of damage appeared in high stem of sweet corn in August was 30 ~ 40 percent, whereas that in low stem was 80 ~ 90 percent. The weight of spoiled grains in paddy-field was 11, 400gm/0.4ha and this gives an estimate of 349, 695 for whole country. 5. The female striped field mouse weighs average of about 30 grams and gives birth to average of 4.8 younglings which wean away from female mouse three weeks after delivery. 6. The natural enemies to the mice are found to be carnivores (weasel, cat, mountain cat, fox, raccoon, and otter), raptatores(eagle, owl, kete, buzzard), and snakes. Two kinds of field rats(Rattus norvegicus, Cricetulus tritor) are also the predator to the mice. 7. The feeding preference of striped field mice follows in decreasing order of sweet corn, soybean, sweet potatoes, chestnut, and wheat. The mice do not have a preference for barley, millet, rough millet, red bean, and green bean. 8. The starvation experiment, in which water alone was supplied, revealed that the mice in good physical and nutritional conditions survived for 71 ~ 79 hours, whereas those in worse conditions survived for only 32 ~ 39 hours.
