Survey on the rural living indicators was the statistic approved from National Statistical Office and the survey executed by rural resources development institute. This study was used the raw data of survey on the rural living indicators in 2005. After editing procedure for raw data, we were studied 1,582 households which is acquired through elimination of case included nonresponses, and imputed a nonresponses of 15 item selected from 146 item. The imputation methods and efficiency of imputation for simulation was adapted differently from type of data. For continuous data, we imputed the nonresponses with mean imputation, regression imputation, adjusted grey-based k-NN imputation(DU, DW, WU, WW) and compared the results with RMSE. For categorical data, we imputed the nonresponses with mode method, probability imputation, conditional mode method, conditional probability method, hot-deck imputation, and compared the results with Accuracy. By the results, regression imputation and adjusted grey-based k-NN imputation appropriated for continuous data and hot-deck imputation appropriated for categorical data.

The Korean Statistical Information Service (KOSIS), classifies and summarizes 1,062 cases that were found when searching [An Investigation on Multicultural Families in Korea] on the website. These years are 2009, 2012, and 2015. The suggestion of this study is as follows. First, it is a comparison between the migrant group and the permanent resident group of 'children' in the research data. Identifying the relative position of a married migrant family to a permanent resident can provide a very important clue. Also, for other date, comparison of the settled and migrant groups is as important as the 'children'. Second, in the 'medical care' category, we need to add more depth than the surface content. For example, the inclusion of details about cancer diagnosis will determine the incidence of marriage migrants. Such efforts can provide more practical assistance to married migrant families. KOSIS is a very useful site that provides useful site that provides us with a lot of information. In the future, they should be able to use migrant group information more efficiently and be more helpful to them. This is the beginning of a sustainable society.
The purpose of this study is to investigate high school students' geographic misconceptions and their mechanisms of formation. Three main theories explaining why students develop misconceptions exist: 1) framework theory, 2) p-prim(phenomenological primitive) theory, and 3) categorization theory. This study chose three target geographic concepts, or, 1st and 2nd mountain ranges, secondary central business district and satellite city, and the Nopsae wind and the F$\ddot{o}$hn phenomenon. Then, this research explored students' typical misconceptions regarding these concepts and attempted to examine which theory explains the misconception forming processes most well. As a result, the following misconceptions were found. First, students understood that the numbers 1 and 2 denote the order of the formation of mountain ranges. Second, despite differences in their main functions, students tended to subsume the secondary central business district and satellite city under one functional category. Third, students believed that the Nopsae wind and the F$\ddot{o}$hn phenomenon are identical in hierarchy. This study explained students' creation of these misconceptions by applying the categorization theory in which students located a concept in an inappropriate location of an ontology tree.
Despite the importance of questionnaires, little survey methodology research on questionnaire design has been conducted in Korea. The purpose of this study was to explore whether two questionnaire forms (close-ended vs. open-ended questions) about 'the most important problem in Korea' elicited similar responses. During the 2016 Korean General Social Survey (KGSS), a random half of respondents were asked the open-ended question form and the remaining half were asked the close-ended question form. While the economy is the most mentioned response (35% vs. 33.2%) to both close-ended and open-ended question forms, there is similarity in the order of highly mentioned responses if we consider that 'politics' is not provided as one of response categories in the close-ended question form. The order of second to fourth response category is crime (24.4%), education (15.4%), and poverty (6.3%) to the closed-ended question form, and politics (10.8%), crime (9.5%), and education (7.6%) to the open-ended question form. Also, the characteristics of respondents who responded with the economy as being the most important are slightly different between the two halves in terms of age, household income, and satisfaction with economic condition. Our findings suggest that we need to be careful when we adopt questions developed in other countries and to consider using survey experiments in pre-testing questionnaire items.

The purpose of this study is to develop the continuing education program for records managers. To reach the goal of this study, literature review and a survey was undertaken. Through literature review, essential knowledge areas of records manager were observed. The survey was also performed by 57 records managers in Korea to understand needs and satisfactions of the continuing education. In conclusion, this study suggested the continuing education program model including education contents, teaching methods, duration of lecture time, and lecturers etc.
Based upon the Labor Demand Survey and the Survey on Wage Structure being conducted annually by the Ministry of Labor, we suggest a convenient statistical tool which can analyze and appraise the effect of introducing a new survey method. Since both surveys have in common very similar sampling frames and sampling schemes in structure, one can measure the variability of one survey on the basis of the other. The influence appraisal method adopted here is applied to ratio data between two independent estimates belonging to the identical category by year and has a statistical form of comparing ratio data before introducing a new survey with those after introducing a new survey.

The focus of traditional evaluations of ontologies is largely performance-based. A comparison of a new ontology with well-established ones, testing of ontologies in different applications, as well as any judgment of an ontology's appropriateness and relatedness to source data heavily rely on what results that ontology seems to manifest. This study, on the other hand, is an attempt to evaluate the quality of a particular ontology as manifested by its structure, representation, and interoperability. To that end, major categories of quality evaluations were first identified through an extensive survey of literature. Evaluation questions were formulated from these categories using the Delphi method and were validated by ontology experts. The entire process produced a set of 53 evaluation questions, which was then employed to test the quality of a newly-developed smartphone ontology.
This study aims to investigate high school students' misconceptions in the subject of Korean geography, and further to create categories to systematically understand the misconceptions. The researcher asked experienced geography teachers to produce a list of students' geographic misconceptions, and then classified the misconceptions. The following five categories were created: 1) self-centered understanding based on everyday life and experience, 2) confusion by words, 3) inappropriate applications of operational definition or geographic concepts, 4) naive inference, and 5) inflexible generalization. The validity of this classification was established through a panel discussion with experts in geography education. The misconceptions that belonged to the categories of naive inference and inflexible generalization occupied a great portion. The misconception list in this study provides a useful data-set for researchers whose interest lies in misconception, and geography teachers can devise a lesson plan that explicitly emphasizes correct geographic concepts to prevent students from establishing misconceptions.

This research is an investigation of difficulties encountered by authors of 5th and 6th grade science textbooks. The aim is to assist authors in creating more easily understandable textbooks in the future. In-depth interviews were conducted with 6 teachers who have previously taken part in the development of 5th and 6th grade texts. The responses given during these interviews were analyzed using open, axial, and selective coding as suggested by Strauss and Corbin (1998). The results are as follows: In open coding, related concepts were extracted and classified into 15 main categories and 46 sub-categories. In axial coding, the main categories were arranged into causal conditions, main phenomenon, context, intervening conditions, action and interactional strategies, and consequences wherein they were consistently related to each other based on Grounded theory. Finally, in selective coding, core categories were instilled whereby the texts being developed were categorized into conservative, progressive, and innovative to allow for easier interpretation. This was done to improve the overall quality of Science textbooks.
Excessive zeroes are often observed in ordinal categorical response variables. An ordinary ordered Probit model is not appropriate for zero-inflated data especially when there are many different sources of generating 0 observations. In this paper, we apply a two-stage zero-inflated ordered Probit (ZIOP) model which incorporate the zero-flated nature of data, propose a Bayesian analysis of a ZIOP model, and apply the method to alcohol consumption data collected by the National Bureau of Statistics, Korea. In the first stage of a ZIOP model, a Probit model is introduced to divide the non-drinkers into genuine non-drinkers who do not participate in drinking due to personal beliefs or permanent health problems and potential drinkers who did not drink at the time of the survey but have the potential to become drinkers. In the second stage, an ordered probit model is applied to drinkers that consists of zero-consumption potential drinkers and positive consumption drinkers. The analysis results show that about 30% of non-drinkers are genuine non-drinkers and hence the Korean alcohol consumption data has the feature of zero-inflated data. A study on the marginal effect of each explanatory variable shows that certain explanatory variables have effects on the genuine non-drinkers and potential drinkers in opposite directions, which may not be detected by an ordered Probit model.
