The Impact of Product Variety in The Supply Chain: An Integrative Review and Future Research Direction (제품다양성이 공급사슬에 미치는 영향: 종합리뷰 및 미래연구방향)

  • In recent decades, product variety has increased dramatically in most industries. Rapidly evolving technologies, global competition, and sophisticated customers have contributed to an increase in product variety in many industries. In this paper, I study the impact of product variety on several businesses in the supply chain through literature review. By study of literature. this paper presents the benefits and drawbacks of increasing product variety on functions performed in several departments, such as engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, logistics and marketing. It provides a brief overview of the various techniques like modularity, component sharing, and platform-based development, which are helpful in reducing the costs, when designing for variety. It also provides a brief overview of order processing, purchased component/part variety, which are helpful in reducing the purchasing costs, and customer satisfaction, market advantage, market share, competitive advantage and demand forecast, which are useful in impact of product variety on marketing. Future research directions are discussed.

Can users' important usability factor bring users' satisfaction? (사용자가 원하는 사용성 요소의 충족이 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 실제 사용자 언어로서의 사용성 평가를 시도하기 위해 진행되었다. 기존의 획일화 된 잣대로서의 평가가 아닌, 사용자가 원하는 사용성 요소가 충족되었을 때의 지각되는 사용성에 대한 만족도를 알아보고자 한 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 사용자의 유형에 따라 제품 및 서비스의 인터페이스에 중요하다고 생각하는 사용성 요소가 다를 것이라고 가정한 뒤, 그 사용성 요소의 충족여부에 따라서 사용자의 주관적인 만족도가 다르게 나타날 것이라고 예상하였다. 이 연구문제를 위하여 혁신 수용의 사용자 유형 별로 가장 중요하다고 생각하는 사용성 요소를 추출하였다. 조기사용자는 사용성 요소 중 Affect의 사용성 요소를 가장 중요하다고 평가하였으며 후기사용자는 사용성 요소 중 Productivity의 사용성 요소를 가장 중요하다고 평가하였다. 이후 각각의 사용자 유형에 중요평가된 사용성 요소가 충족되거나 충족되지 않은 프로토타입을 제시한 뒤, 사용 경험의 만족도를 조사한 결과, 각 사용자 유형 내에서의 만족도는 충족여부에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였으나, 각 사용자 유형 간의 만족도는 충족여부에 따른 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 본 연구의 결과는 사용성평가를 평가자의 언어가 아닌 사용자의 언어로 측정하는 새로운 평가방식 개발의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다. 또한 본 연구는 사용자 유형 별 중요하게 기대하는 사용성 요소의 결과를 제시함으로써 제품 및 서비스의 인터페이스의 개발에 있어 사용자 군 별 중요하게 고려되어야 할 속성들의 판단자료를 제공할 수 있다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.

The Research on Job Satisfaction of Home appliances Service Engineer (가전제품 서비스 엔지니어의 직무만족도에 관한 연구)

  • This study surveyed and analysed the factors that affect the job satisfaction of a home appliances service engineer. The job satisfaction analysis was based on two separate branches: the satisfaction of the current position and the intention to work. As the result, it was apprehended that as far as the individual qualities of the engineer are concerned, personality is a factor that had an effect on job satisfaction. Concerning the organisational qualities, it was analysed that social support, allowances and welfare were factors that contributed largely; and concerning the work itself, it was acknowledged that the appropriateness of the work influenced job satisfaction. To conclude, it was analysed that to increase job satisfaction, it would be important first and foremost to employ employees who have extroversive personalities, to take good care of the allowances and welfare of the employees and to distribute appropriately the amount of work.

  • Today's world has been changing form post-industrial society to information society, and criteria of human value, also, has been changing from physical to intellectual and sensible. Based on this trend, intellectual and sensible value of a product is becoming more important in comsumer's market than physical value. The environment of product design has been rapidly changing. Users and consumers pursuit sensible satisfaction through their lives based on images of products. As the environment in which a product is used has been more important, companies have placed more emphasis on consumers and users, and are trying to satisfy their consumers by developing products with emphasis on their design, as well as to develop human technology. In ever-changing environment, a question is if sensible design can be developed in product design. Companies could upgrade their competitive power and brand image only if they could develope designs which could satisfy consumers through sensible design approach with a base on systematic research on h~man sensibility. In this context, the purpose of this study was to: investigate consumer's evaluations on and preferences for formative images of products according to the types of human sensibility. This research study placed emphasis on quantitative analysis of consumers' emotional needs to find out consumer's evaluations on and preferences for formative images of products. The researcher reviewed related literature on human sensibility and design, as well as G-Kansei and product design. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed through a statistical program, and highly effective design strategy was investigated through analysis of data and interpretation of the results.

The Effects of Service Quality on Customer's Loyalty in Automotive Parts Distribution Industry (자동차부품 유통기업의 서비스품질이 고객충성에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Automotive parts distribution industry focused on increasing sales by product quality until early 2010, but as competition has recently intensified, each company has become interested in core values such as customer satisfaction, trust and loyalty. Therefore, effect of customer-oriented service mindset should be analyzed for the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction, trust, and loyalty in this industry. For this, a questionnaire survey was conducted for 342 distributors. Structural equation models were analyzed using AMOS 23.0. Empirical results show service quality has positive effects on customer loyalty, and customer satisfaction and trust mediate between service quality and customer loyalty. The service quality became a key factor to elicit customer satisfaction, trust and loyalty. Following studies, it is expected to enhance service quality focusing on extending region coverages.

Influence of Consumption Patterns and Satisfaction for Convenience Store Private Brand Foods (편의점 PB식품군 구매행동 및 만족도 영향요인 연구)

  • This study examined the purchasing behavior and satisfaction of people with convenience store PB foods. The factors affecting the purchasing behavior and the overall satisfaction with the convenience store PB foods were examined. This study first found that the purchasing motivation of PB foods is the cheaper price than NB foods. Second, age is a statistically effective variable for the visit frequency at the convenience store and gender and age are effective variables for the purchase frequency of PB foods. Third, there is a statistically positive correlation of convenience store brand preference with the PB food brand preference for 6 food categories. Next, in terms of the attribute-level satisfaction, the most satisfied areas are diverse food groups and diverse food taste and the least satisfied areas is price. This is followed by taste and design/packaging influence overall satisfaction. From this analysis, the following suggestions were drawn. First, because consumers are likely to be matched convenience store brand preference and PB food brand preference, advertising is necessary to ensure that the consumers continue to visit the convenience store. Second, product improvement by increasing the quality should be designed to motivate the major consumer group of people in their 20s and 30s. Finally, to boost PB food satisfaction, the industry should improve the taste and design/packaging.

An Arrangement Method of Voice and Sound Feedback According to the Operation : For Interaction of Domestic Appliance (조작 방식에 따른 음성과 소리 피드백의 할당 방법 가전제품과의 상호작용을 중심으로)

  • The ways to interact with digital appliances are becoming more diverse. Users can control appliances using a remote control and a touch-screen, and appliances can send users feedback through various ways such as sound, voice, and visual signals. However, there is little research on how to define which output method to use for providing feedback according to the user' input method. In this study, we designed an experimental study that seeks to identify how to appropriately match the output method - voice and sound - based on the user input - voice and button. We made four types of interaction with two kinds input methods and two kinds of output methods. For the four interaction types, we compared the usability, perceived satisfaction, preference and suitability. Results reveals that the output method affects the ease of use and perceived satisfaction of the input method. The voice input method with sound feedback was evaluated more satisfying than with the voice feedback. However, the keying input method with voice feedback was evaluated more satisfying than with sound feedback. The keying input method was more dependent on the output method than the voice input method. We also found that the feedback method of appliances determines the perceived appropriateness of the interaction.

Internet Shopping Value, Store Image, Customer Satisfaction, and Re-Visit Intention - A Comparison by Product Types - (인터넷 쇼핑가치, 점포이미지와 고객만족 및 재방문의도 - 구매제품유형별 비교 -)

  • This study aims to prove the connection between satisfaction and re-visit intention of customers by examining shopping value and store image depending on product types purchased at Internet shopping malls. The finding of this study revealed that shopping value could be classified into hedonic and utilitarian value, while store image could be extracted into six dimensions such as reputation, product and information service, customer service after purchase, atmosphere, convenience, and safety. Both search goods and experience goods among store image factors were found to have stronger effect on utilitarian shopping value than hedonic shopping one. In addition, it was found that store image and shopping value had an effect on customer satisfaction and re-visit intention depending on product types, with a significant difference. These findings are expected to provide marketing complications for the understanding of differentiated market segments in the Internet shopping mall market, which is facing ever-growing market.
