  • Hydrogen is a renewable energy source with various characteristics such as clean, carbon-free and high-energy, and is internationally recognized as a "future energy". With the rapid development of the hydrogen energy industry, more hydrogen infrastructure is needed to meet the demand for hydrogen. However, hydrogen infrastructure accidents have been occurring frequently, hindering the development of the hydrogen industry. HyRAM+, developed by Sandia National Laboratories, is a software toolkit that integrates data and methods related to hydrogen safety assessments for various storage applications, including hydrogen refueling stations. HyRAM+'s physics mode simulates hydrogen leak results depending on the hydrogen refueling station components, graphing gas plume dispersion, jet frame temperature and trajectory, and radiative heat flux. In this paper, hydrogen leakage data was extracted from a hydrogen refueling station in Samcheok, Gangwon-do, using HyRAM+ software. A hydrogen leakage simulator was developed using data extracted from HyRAM+. It was implemented as a dashboard that shows the data generated by the simulator using a database and Grafana.

An Analysis of Model Bias Tendency in Forecast for the Interaction between Mid-latitude Trough and Movement Speed of Typhoon Sanba (중위도 기압골과 태풍 산바의 이동속도와의 상호작용에 대한 예측에서 모델 바이어스 경향분석)

  • Typhoon Sanba was selected for describing the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) Global Data Assimilation Prediction System (GDAPS) model bias tendency in forecast for the interaction between mid-latitude trough and movement speed of typhoon. We used the KMA GDAPS analyses and forecasts initiated 00 UTC 15 September 2012 from the historical typhoon record using Typhoon Analysis and Prediction System (TAPS) and Combined Meteorological Information System-3 (COMIS-3). Sea level pressure fields illustrated a development of the low level mid-latitude cyclogenesis in relation to Jet Maximum at 500 hPa. The study found that after Sanba entered the mid-latitude domain, its movement speed was forecast to be accelerated. Typically, Snaba interacted with mid-latitude westerlies at the front of mid-latitude trough. This event occurred when the Sanba was nearing recurvature at 00 and 06 UTC 17 September. The KMA GDAPS sea level pressure forecasts provided the low level mid-latitude cyclone that was weaker than what it actually analyzed in field. As a result, the mid-latitude circulations affecting on Sanba's movement speed was slower than what the KMA GDAPS actually analyzed in field. It was found that these circulations occurred due to the weak mid-tropospheric jet maximum at the 500 hPa. In conclusion, the KMA GDAPS forecast tends to slow a bias of slow movement speed when Sanba interacted with the mid-latitude trough.

CORRELATION BETWEEN MONTHLY CUMULATIVE AURORAL ELECTROJET INDICES, DST INDEX AND INTERPLANETARY ELECTRIC FIELD DURING MAGNETIC STORMS (자기폭풍 기간 동안의 월별 누적 오로라 제트전류 지수, Dst 지수 및 행성간 전기장 사이의 상관관계)

  • Magnetospheric substorms occur frequently during magnetic storms, suggesting that the two phenomena are closely associated. We can investigate the relation between magnetospheric substorms and magnetic storms by examining the correlation between AE and Dst indices. For this purpose, we calculated the monthly cumulative AU, $\mid{AL}\mid$ and $\mid{Dst}\mid$ indices. The correlation coefficient between the monthly cumulative $\mid{AL}\mid$ and $\mid{Dst}\mid$ index is found to be 0.60, while that between monthly cumulative AU and $\mid{Dst}\mid$ index is 0.28. This result indicates that substorms seem to contribute to the development of magnetic storms. On the other hand, it has been reported that the interplanetary electric field associated with southward IMF intensifies the magnetospheric convection, which injects charged particles into the inner magnetosphere, thus developing the ring current. To evaluate the contribution of the interplanetary electric field to the development of the storm time ring current belt, we compared the monthly cumulative interplanetary electric field and the monthly cumulative Dst index. The correlation coefficient between the two cumulative indices is 0.83 for southward IMP and 0.39 for northward IMF. It indicates that magnetospheric convection induced by southward IMF is also important in developing magnetic storms. Therefore, both magnetospheric substorm and enhanced magnetospheric convection seem to contribute to the buildup of magnetic storm.

Influence of Spring Warming in the Arctic-East Asia Region on the Arctic Oscillation and Dust Days in Korea Attributed to Dust Storms (북극-동아시아 지역의 봄철 온난화가 북극 진동-한국의 황사 사례일의 종관 기상에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • This study examined the influence of near-surface atmospheric warming in the Arctic-East Asia region during spring (March-May) from 1991 to 2020 on the synoptic-scale meteorology of dust storm-induced dust days in Seoul, Korea, in response to the Arctic Oscillation. Increased springtime warming in the Arctic-East Asia region correlated with a reduction of six days in the occurrence of dust storm-induced dust days in Seoul, Korea, along with a decline in the intensity of these days by -1.6 ㎍ m-3yr-1 in PM10 mass concentration. The declining number of dust storm-induced dust days in Korea during the 2010s was the result of synoptic-scale meteorological analysis, which showed increased high-pressure activity as indicated by the negative potential vorticity unit. Moreover, a distinct pattern emerged in the distribution of dust storm-induced dust days in Korea based on the Arctic Oscillation Index (AOI), showing an increase in negative AOI and a decrease in positive AOI. Although the northward shift of the polar jet weakened the southerly low-pressure system activity over Mongolia and northern China, a reinforced high-pressure system formed over the Chinese continent during dust-storm-induced dust days with a negative AOI. This resulted in both a decrease in the frequency of dust-storm-induced dust days and reduction in wind speeds, facilitating their transport from source regions to Korea. Conversely, on days with positive AOIs, an extensive warm and stagnant high-pressure system dominated mainland China, accompanied by further cooling of the northern segment of the polar jet. A notable decline in wind speed in the lower troposphere across the Mongolia-northern China-Korea region diminished the occurrence of dust storm-induced dust days and also weakened their long-range transport.

  • 용융탄산염 연료전지(MCFC)는 $650^{\circ}C$에서 작동하는 고온형 연료전지 시스템이다. 이 시스템은 천연가스 등을 개질하여 생산된 수소를 바로 전기로 생산할 수 있는 시스템으로 열효율이 높으며, 현재 대체 발전시스템으로 각광을 받고 있다. MCFC는 개질방식에 따라 내부개질 방식과 외부개질 방식이 있다. 내부개질 방식은 수소를 생산하는 개질기가 스택내부에 장착된 형식으로 천연가스를 스택내부에서 개질하여 바로 전기를 생산하는 방식이다. 이 내부개질반응에 사용되는 촉매로는 알루미나에 담지된 니켈(Ni) 계열촉매이 주로 쓰이고 있다. 또한 내부개질촉매의 형태는 작은 원주형의 촉매형태로 성형되어 사용된다. 이 성형된 촉매의 크기가 바로 내부개질 스택의 크기를 결정하는 중요한 요소이다. 그래서 촉매의 크기는 되도록이면 작게 성형하는 것이 중요하다. 그러나 촉매의 크기가 너무 작으면 촉매를 성형하는데 큰 어려움이 생기게 된다. 본 연구에서는 니켈 촉매를 공침법이 아닌 균일용액침전법을 이용하여 제조하였으며, 이 촉매를 이용하여 지름이 약 2 mm 이하로 촉매를 압출성형하는 방법을 연구하였다. 먼저 요소(urea)를 이용한 균일용액침전법으로 촉매를 제조하였다. 최적의 촉매 합성조건을 살펴보기 위해서, 반응 온도를 80, 85, 90, 95, $100^{\circ}C$로 변화 시키면서 제조된 촉매의 특성을 살펴보았다. 그리고 촉매의 적절한 니켈 양을 알아보기 위해서 니켈의 양을 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 wt%로 변화 시켰으며, 조촉매로 사용되는 MgO 양을 5, 10, 15, 20 wt%로 변화 시켜서 제조된 촉매의 특성을 살펴보았다. 물성을 비교하기 위해서, X-선 회절분석(XRD) 및 TPR, 물리화학흡착을 하였다. 그 결과 침전반응온도가 $80^{\circ}C$에서 촉매가 가장 좋은 물성을 보였으며, 우수한 개질성능을 보였다. 그리고 촉매 활성물질인 니켈의 함량은 50 wt% 정도가 가장 적절한 함량이었으며, MgO의 함량이 15 wt%일 때 가장 우수한 물성과 개질 성능을 보여주었다. 이 촉매들은 공침법으로 제조된 상용촉매와 비교하였을 때, 보다 우수한 물성과 개질성능 보였다. 그래서 이 촉매를 균일침전법을 이용하여 대량으로 제조한 다음 압출성형 방법을 이용하여 촉매를 원주형으로 제조하였다. 먼저 제조된 촉매는 별도의 분쇄작업(볼밀 혹은 제트밀)을 거치지 않아도 입자사이즈가 약 $4{\mu}m$ 수준이 나오도록 촉매 제조조건을 조절 하였다. 그리고 소량의 Methyl cellulose(MC) 바이더와 물만 사용하여 촉매를 혼합한 다음 스크류 압출기를 이용하여 촉매를 성형하였다. 이 촉매는 지름이 약 2 mm 이하로 제조할 수 있었으며, 기계적 강도는 타정기로 성형한 상용촉매보다 우수하였다. 그리고 촉매 성능 또한 상용촉매와 비교하였을 때, 우수한 성능 보였다. MCFC용 내부개질 촉매로 균일용액침전법을 사용한 촉매가 적합하다고 판단되며, 압출성형에도 적합하다고 판단되었다.

CPFD Simulation of Bubble Flow in a Bubbling Fluidized Bed with Shroud Nozzle Distributor and Vertical Internal (CPFD 시뮬레이션을 통한 Shroud 노즐 및 수직 구조물이 설치된 기포 유동층 반응기 내에서의 기포 흐름 해석)

  • The effect of internal and shroud nozzle distributor to bubbling fluidized beds which has the size of $0.3m-ID{\times}2.4m-high$ column was modeled by CPFD (Computational Particle-Fluid Dynamics). Metal-grade silicon particles (MG-Si) were used as bed materials which have $d_p=149{\mu}m$, ${\rho}_p=2,325kg/m^3$ and $U_{mf}=0.02m/s$. Total bed inventory and static bed height were 75 kg and 0.8 m, respectively. Effect of vertical internal on the bubble rising velocity was investigated. Bubbles were split by internal when the axial position of the internal from the distributor, z = 0.45 m. Bed pressure drop and axial solid holdup were not affected by internal. However, in the case that axial distance of internal from distributor was too close to jet penetration length, bubbles were not separated and bypassed internal, and faster than without internal or z = 0.45 m.

축소 노즐에서의 슬롯 막냉각 열전달 특성에 관한 연구

  • 고온의 연소가스로부터 노즐 표면을 보호하기 위하여 슬롯을 통하여 냉각 유체를 분사하는 슬롯 막냉각에 대하여 연구하였다. 냉각효율 및 열전달 특성은 주유동과 2차 유동의 분사율에 따라 크게 달라지며, 형상변화 및 유동가속에 의해서도 냉각 효과의 변화를 가져오게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 실험을 통하여 면적비가 16:1인 축소노즐에서 압축성 효과를 배제할 수 있는 유동속도 범위 내에서 분사율 변화(0.5 $\leq$ M $\leq$ 3.0)에 따른 슬롯 막냉각 열전달 특성을 고찰하고, 평판 슬롯 막냉각 경험식의 결과와 비교하였으며, 수치해석을 통하여 축소노즐과 원형관에서의 냉각효율 및 열전달 특성을 비교함으로서 이를 검증하였다. 축소노즐에서의 슬롯 막냉각 열전달 특성은 단열벽면조건을 형성하여 노즐 표면을 따라 설치된 열전대를 이용하여 측정하였다. 그 결과 상대적으로 낮은 분사율(M=0.5, 1.0)에서 분사율 증가에 따른 냉각효율의 증가가 크게 나타났으며, 분사율이 높아짐(M $\geq$ 2.0)에 따라 냉각효율의 증가폭이 점점 감소하고, 일정 분사율 이상에서는 냉각 효율의 증가가 크게 둔화되었다. 분사율이 낮을 경우 평판 슬롯 막냉각 경험식으로 주어진 결과보다 상류에서는 높으나 하류로 진행하면 비슷한 냉각효율을 보였고, 분사율이 높은 경우 평판보다 전 범위에서 약간 높은 냉각효율을 나타냈다. 수치해석 결과에서는 분사율이 낮을 경우 축소노즐의 냉각효율이 원형관에서의 냉각효율 보다 낮거나 비슷하게 나타났으며, 분사율이 높아짐에 따라 축소노즐에서의 냉각효율이 오히려 높아지는 것으로 나타났다.타내었다. 액체 제트의 속도는 처음에는 일정하게 유지되다가 운동량을 보존하기 위해 가스로부터 운동량을 받아 점차 가속되어지는 것으로 나타났다.본 규격은 키, 총장, 어깨길이, 등길이, 머리길이, 머리둘레, 진동둘레, 목둘레, 가슴둘레, 허리둘레, 배둘레, 엉덩이둘레, 앞품, 뒤품, drop치를 포함하고 있고, 각 규격에서 호칭간 치수 간격도 함께 제시하고 있다. 본 연구 결과에서 보듯, 현행 8규격의 무진복의 각 호칭간 적정 허용범위를 고려해 합리적인 치수체계를 정립한다면 치수에 대한 적합도가 상당히 증가할 뿐 아니라 생산비용도 상당히 감축할 것으로 생각된다.나타났다. 4) 호감적 서비스능력 차원에서 세 독립변수간에 유의한 3원 상호작용이 존재하는 것으로 나타나( $F_{2,228}$=15.62, P<.001) 20대에 적합한 의복 착용시( $F_{2,228}$=3.98, P<.05)와 60대에 적합한 의복 착용시( $F_{2,228}$=16.55, P<.001) 점포유형과 격식차림간에는 유의한 상호작용이 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 5) 호감을 구성하는 세 요인들이 구매의도에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과 호감적 인상차원은 29%(P<.001), 호감적 서비스능력차원은 6%(P<.001)의 구매의도를 설명해 주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과 노년 소비자에게 호감을 주는 판매원의 외모는 구매의도에 영향을 주어 실버의류산업의 이익증대와 밀접한 연관을 갖는 서비스품질의 중요한 요인으로 밝혀졌다.중요한 요인으로 밝혀졌다.로운 단백질 EPSPS가 다른 여러 식물에 이미 존재하고 있는 단백질로서 우리가 이미 이러

Geocentric parallax measurements of Near-Earth Asteroid using Baselines with domestic small-size observatories (국내 소형천문대 기선을 이용한 근접 소행성 지심시차 측정)

  • We cooperated with four domestic educational astronomical observatories to construct a baseline and perform simultaneous observations to determine the geocentric parallax, distance, and motion of 1036 Ganymed, an Amor asteroid near the Earth. Observations were made on the day when simultaneous observations were possible from September to November 2011. Measured distances of 1036 Ganymed were 0.394 AU on Sept. 26, 0.365 AU on Oct. 11, and 0.340 AU on Oct. 25, respectively, which were within the error range as compared with the measured distances proposed by the US Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The 1036 Ganymed showed a tilting motion during the observation period, and the tangential angular velocities were measured at $0.037-0.052^{{\prime {\prime}}\;sec^{-1}$. Through this study, it was shown that the simultaneous observations among educational astronomical observations can obtain distance measurements with an error range of about 5% for asteroids near 0.4 AU. And it expected to be used as a research & education program emphasizing collaborative observation activities based on a network between observatories.

Spatial and Temporal Variability of Residual Current and Salinity according to Freshwater Discharge in Yeoungsan River Estuary (방류 유무에 따른 영산강 하구역의 시공간적 잔차류 및 염분 변화)

  • In this study, field measurements were conducted in the section about 7 km from sea dike to westward. The observations of along channel current were carried out, and water temperature and salinity were measured simultaneously at 10 stations during one tidal cycle, and sampling interval is 1 hour. The maximum ebb current is about 1.5 m/s at the surface layer but flood current is 0.4 m/s at the bottom layer during discharge period. Residual current during river discharge shows two layer structures which is typical characteristic of the estuary system. On the other hand, residual current during a period with no discharge has shown multi-layer structure different from general estuarine systems. The distribution of high salinity can be seen at the bottom layer as the effect of discharge does not reach down to the bottom layer during discharge. As a result, freshwater is not effected at the bottom layer during observation, and mixing of surface layer to bottom layer is reduced by stratification.

Study on Heat-Loss-Induced Self-Excitation in Laminar Lifted Jet Flames (층류제트 부상화염에서 열손실에 의한 자기진동에 관한 연구)

  • We experimentally investigated lifted propane jet flames diluted with nitrogen to obtain flame-stability maps based on heat-loss-induced self-excitation. We found that heat-loss-induced self-excitations are caused by conductive heat loss from premixed flame branches to trailing diffusion flames as well as soot radiation. The conductive-heat-loss-induced self-excitation at frequencies less than 0.1 Hz is explained well by a suggested mechanism, whereas the oscillation of the soot region induces a self-excitation of lift-off height of the order of 0.1 Hz. The suggested mechanism is also verified from additive experiments in a room at constant temperature and humidity. The heat-loss-induced self-excitation is explained by the Strouhal numbers as a function of the relevant parameters.
