A study of the small productional system for 3D digital animations (3차원 디지털애니메이션을 위한 소형제작시스템 연구)

  • The main purpose of this study is to help develop the productional system of the three dimensional digital animation domestically. Many 30 digital animation projects are being developed and finished with foreign computer graphics technology. However, the 3D animation market in Korea is not as good as the ones in other countries. One of the most significant problems is the lack of a program of study in Korea concerning productional systems used to create 3D animation. We previously imported an advanced productional system from the U.S., which was adaptable to big projects, and consequently, expanded the international digital animation market. Now, we need to develop a new production system which is fully adaptable to the Korean market. A non-sequential system of 3D digital animation tailored for small projects is more adaptable to domestic industry than the sequential system known as the 'Pipeline system.' A non-sequential system is good for small productions that are trying to create animation on a limited budget. The workers in this system can learn to make animation fast and effectively. They can also learn how to discuss with the others in order to avoid duplication of action. In contrast, in the Pipeline System, many workers repeat confirmation steps during the process for the same animations. The benefit of the non-sequential system is that the worker's interest and education can speed up production, because he/she can quickly learn every step of the animation process instead of just doing a particular job which does not allow him/her to observe the other steps involved. The 'animatic' step is the most important in the non-sequential system. The final animation is produced from the animatic. It is developed from scratch through to the final product but only after the agreement of all the workers, including a director.

  • 360VR은 기존의 미디어와 차별화된 현실감을 제공하는 장점으로 인해 차세대 미래미디어의 대표 주자로 주목받고 있다. 본 고에서는 이러한 360VR 영상의 획득과 제작에 사용되는 장비 및 기술을 살펴보고, 360VR 콘텐츠의 제작 사례를 기반으로 몰입형 콘텐츠 제작기술이 방송 및 기타 장르에 어떻게 융합되고 있는지 알아보았다. 또한, 몰입형 콘텐츠 제작의 제약 요소를 살펴보고 이에 대한 대안 및 몰입형 미디어의 발전방향을 알아보았다.

  • 기존 휠체어에 정지상태 유지의 의미를 가지고 있는 휠체어 브레이크 장치를 대체할 수 있으며, 안정적인 제동력을 제공함으로 운행 중에 제동할 수 있는 휠체어 제동장치의 설계 및 제작을 목적으로 한다. 장치를 설계, 제작함에 있어 설계단계에서부터 가공기술자가 참가함으로서 공정변화를 유도하였다. 또한, 외측라체트 휠을 이용한 제동장치를 제작함으로서 기존의 설계제작에 따른 시행착오를 줄였다.

Current Situation on the Construction of Program Production Systems in the Local Broadcasting : Centering around the Terrestrial Broadcasting Systems in Daejeon (지역 지상파방송의 프로그램 제작시스템 구축 현황 - 대전지역 지상파방송을 중심으로 -)

  • This study considers some changes in the program production by the local broadcasting stations through the analysis of their programs. Currently, one of the biggest changes in the local broadcasting systems is that they focus on the self-produced contents about the community and expand the joint-production. In the case of KBS Daejeon, they try to activate various joint-produced programs together with the local broadcasting stations in Yeongnam province. MBC Daejeon has also strengthened the joint-production systems since 2002 by classifying MBC's 19 subsidiary stations around the country into 5 groups in order to strengthen the competitiveness. As for TJB, they work in the cooperation with other commercial broadcasting stations in other cities, including Busan, Kwangju, Jeonju, Ulsan, Daegu by sharing the programs which they produced. In conclusion, the local broadcasting systems should depart from the function as a mediating center of the central broadcasting network and strengthen the ability of producing programs in order to be able to function as a source of producing programs. Thus, local broadcasting stations should expand the joint production of the programs about the communities and the ratio of the organization of the self-produced programs.

  • It is possible to fabricate a three-dimensional (3D) shape using the solid freeform fabrication (SFF) technology. However, there are several problems in applying conventional SFF technologies to the direct manufacturing of a product. Hence, multimaterial SFF is gaining attention. Moreover, a 3D circuit device that is different from a conventional two-dimensional PCB can also be fabricated using multimaterial SFF. In this study, a hybrid system using fused deposition modeling and direct writing was designed for 3D circuit device fabrication.

  • Manufacturing process of large-scale 3D computer animation is becoming sophistication, ramification because of development of manufacturing technique and extravagant budget. Form of manufacturing pipeline has been variously changed to production type, manufacturing scale, manufacturing form. But it is time that renewed discussion is needed because change and development for the organization is insufficient in small manufacturing company. The project aims to try to help understanding for manufacturing pipeline of internal small-scale 3D animation and to find a plan of organization for internal small-scale production of the real situation. Organization model and methodology of manufacturing pipeline of small manufacturing company is not absolute because it is enough possible to be changed to inclination of the project and its environment. People must fully understand the purpose for organization of manufacturing pipeline of 3D computer animation and it must be organized to the situation for small-scale production so that every worker in production can share the information perfectly.

  • This case study states the suitability of using the program, Flash, when producing television series animations. It states the conveniences for the users of Flash when used as an animating tool, the advantages Flash has due to compatibility with other programs, the reduction of production costs, and more. The purpose of this case study is to introduce new overseas Flash animation production techniques for easier production, technically and financially. The outcome of the analysis states the importance of training animators that are able to make high quality television series animations using the new overseas flash animation techniques.

  • TV drama is the entertainment content which is the very popular and profitable program than any other TV program genre. Although recently some broadcasting companies have been tried to set up the drama production system, they don't have the formal system yet. This study analyses the practices and mechanisms of the drama producing process by doing the dept-interview with the experts in the drama production field. The Korean drama production system is 'the producer-director system' and the strategies for the windowing effects are not applied systematically from the pre-production step. For the broadcasting companies to have the competitiveness through drama, the expert-producer system should be applied, the production elements should be controled systematically, and the multi-use strategies should be established.

  • 디지털 영상제작 환경의 변화가 제일 먼저 뿌리를 내린 곳은 바로 1인 제작방식(One Man Producing System)을 취하고 있는 VJ(Video Journalist) 분야다. 6mm 소형 디지털 카메라와 디지털 편집기술의 등장 이후 VJ를 중심으로 급속도로 확산되고 있는 1인 제작시스템은 영상물 제작의 새로운 패러다임을 형성하고 있으며, 특히 VJ시스템의 고효율성은 기존의 방송영상물 시장에 기여할 수 있는 높은 잠재력과 가능성을 내포하고 있다. 그러나 현재 VJ시스템은 단지 값싼 영상제작 시스템정도로 왜곡되어 관습화 되어가고 있는 실정이다. 이런 맥락에서 본 논문은 VJ시스템의 특성을 중심으로 그 경쟁력 강화를 위한 지향점을 논한다.

코로나19 시대와 방송 제작 방식의 변화

  • 코로나19가 전 세계에 막대한 영향을 미치고 있다. 누적 확진자가 4천만 명에 육박하여 홍콩 독감 이후 최악의 전염병이 되었다. 무엇보다 2~30만 명 선의 일일 확진자가 발생하고 있어 당분간 영향은 지속될 것으로 보인다. 코로나19가 발생하면서 방송 제작은 많은 차질을 빚었고, 이에 대응하면서 무관중 제작, 랜선 음악회, 클라우드 제작 활성화 등 다양한 방송 제작 포맷이 나타났다. 포스트 코로나(post COVID-19) 보다는 위드 코로나(with COVID-19) 시대가 된 환경에서 방송 제작 방식의 변화를 살펴보았다.
