Beam Pattern Analysis of LED Reflector Design and Simplification of the Functional Design (조명용 LED 반사컵의 설계변수 의존도 분석 및 기능성 설계의 단순화 기법)

  • The design methods of the reflecting cup employed in an LED lamp are presented. The beam patterns of an LED lamp can be adjusted by functional segmentation of the reflector height. Thus, the reflecting angle of slope was designed according to the height. The analysis of the designed reflecting cup shows that precise adjustable beam patterns can be achieved.

  • This paper proposes a power efficient 2-dimensional DCT/IDCT architecture driven by input data to be processed. The architecture achieves low power by taking advantage of the typically large fraction of zero and small-valued input processing data in video and image data compression. In particular, it skips multiplication by zero and dynamically activates/deactivates required bit-slices of fine-grain bit partitioned adders within multipliers and accumulators using simple input ANDing and bit-slice MASKing. The processed results from 1-D DCT/IDCT do not have unnecessary sign extension bits (SEBs), which are used for further power reduction in matrix transposer. The results extracted by bit-level transition activity simulations indicate significant power reduction compared to conventional designs.

Feasibility Study on a Defrost Control Method by Using a Photoelectric Sensors (광센서를 이용한 제상제어 방법에 대한 타당성 검토)

  • Conventional methods, such as the clock time control method and temperature difference control method, for defrost control often encounter mal-defrost and a waste of energy. Therefore, a more efficient method is needed to control defrosting precisely. A photoelectric sensor unit consisting of an emitter and a collector was installed in the front of outdoor heat exchanger. Accurate defrost control was performed by monitoring and using the change in output voltage according to the presence of frost. In this study, experiments were performed to determine if the performance and characteristic curves obtained using the clock time control method can be reproduced using a photoelectric sensor under the heating and defrosting capacity test condition described at KS C 9306. The output voltage of the phototransistor (receiver) and heating capacity, power consumption, and surface temperature of the outdoor heat exchanger, were compared. The results showed that photoelectric sensors can be used as a defrost control method. On-off control timing of the clock time defrosting method was in good agreement with those predicted by the output voltage of the photoelectric sensor.

  • 터빈 블레이드와 같이 회전하는 구조물의 파단은 공진 근처에서 진동이 발 생할 때에 이에 기인하는 피로에 의하여 발생한다. 그러므로 이와 같은 파단 을 피하기 위해서는 설계 단계에서 이론적인 계산에 의하여 구조물의 고유 진동수를 결정하는 것이 상당히 중요하다. 판이 회전을 받게 되면 원심력에 의하여 판의 강성이 증가하므로 고유진동수가 회전하지 않는 판의 고유진동 수보다는 상당히 증가하게 된다. 이에 대한 연구가 국내외에서 상당수 행하 여졌지만, 연구의 대부분이 회전의 영향을 고려하지 않은 정지판(stationary plate)에 대한 것이며 뢰전을 고려한 연구는 극히 제한되어 있다. 또한 회전 의 영향을 고려한 연구의 대부분이 해석 대상을 보로서 단순화 시켰고 해법 으로는 유한요소법과 Ritz법 등을 사용하였다. 이는 블레이드가 지니고 있는 기하학적인 형상과 진동 특성이 해석적인 방법으로 해결하는 데에는 상당한 어려움이 있기 때문이다. 실제적으로는 터빈 블레이드와 같은 회전체의 진동 특성이 설치각이나 비틀림각, 판의 형상비, 회전속도 등의 변화에 의하여 영 향을 받기 때문에 보와 같은 진동 거동을 보이기보다는 판이나 셀과 같은 진동 거동을 보이므로 보다 정확한 해석을 수행하기 위해서는 해석 대상을 판이나 셀로서 취급하는 것이 타당하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 위와 같은 이 유 때문에 해석 대상을 등방성 사각판과 직교이방성 복합재료 사각판으로 선택하였으며, 구조물의 고유진동수에 영향을 미치는 다음과 같은 인자들을 해석에 고려하였다. 1. 회전속도 (rotational speed) 2. 설치각 (setting angle) 3. 허브의 반경 (hub radius) 4. 판의 형상비 (aspect ratio) 5. 적층순서 (stacking sequence)구조물에 대한 동적실험(dynamic test)을 통하여 단기간에 동적특성을 결정하고 SDM(structure dynamic modification)이나 FRS(force response simulation)를 수행하여 임의의 좌표 공간에 대한 진동수준을 해석적으로 예측할 뿐만 아니라 구조물의 진동제어 를 위한 동적인자를 변경시킬 수 있는 정보를 제공하며 장비를 방진할 경우 신뢰성 있는 전달률을 결정할 수 있다. 실험적으로 철교, 교량이나 건물의 철골구조 및 2층 바닥 등 대,중형의 복잡한 구조물에 대항 동특성을 나타내 는 모빌리티를 결정할 경우 충격 가진 실험이 사용되는 실험장비 측면에서 나 실험을 수행하는 과정이 대체적으로 간편하다. 그러나 이 경우 대상 구조 물을 충분히 가진시킬수 있는 용량의 대형 충격기(large impact hammer)가 필요하게 된다. 이러한 동적실험은 약 길이 61m, 폭 16m의 4경간 교량에 대 하여 동적실험을 수행하여 가능성을 확인하였다. 여기서는 실험실 수준의 평 판모델을 제작하고 실제 현장에서 이루어질 수 있는 진동제어 구조물에 대 한 동적실험 및 FRS를 수행하는 과정과 동일하게 따름으로써 실제 발생할 수 있는 오차나 error를 실험실내의 차원에서 파악하여 진동원을 있는 구조 물에 대한 진동제어기술을 보유하고자 한다. 이용한 해마의 부피측정은 해마경화증 환자의 진단에 있어 육안적인 MR 진단이 어려운 제한된 경우에만 실제적 도움을 줄 수 있는 보조적인 방법으로 생각된다.ofile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by τS. Analysis of braking characteristics of electric multiple unit for train control system (열차제어시스템을 위한 전동차 제동특성 분석)

  • This paper presents a braking model that can be used to design the safety distance of a train control system and a train braking system to increase the volume of traffic. For the braking model, a train set (electric multiple unit composed 6 cars) was tested. The factors that can affect the braking characteristics include the friction coefficient, braking pressure, and regenerative braking. The braking pressure was classified into service and emergency braking and reflected the characteristics of the vehicle. The external force acting on the running railway car was tested in accordance with KS R 9217, and the running resistance of the train is presented in the form of a polynomial. The dynamic behavior of the train running on a straight flat line was simulated using UM 8.3. The results were validated with experimental data, and the results were reasonable. With the validated model, a stopping distance was determined according to the initial braking speed and compared with the deceleration braking model. In addition, a safety distance for the train control system could be changed according to the frictional coefficient limits. These results are expected to be useful for analyzing the dynamic behavior of trains, and for analyzing various railway environments and improving the braking performance.

  • Main objects for wastewater treatment operation are to maintain effluent water quality and minimize operation cost. However, the optimal operation is difficult because of the change of influent flow rate and concentrations, the nonlinear dynamics of microbiology growth rate and other environmental factors. Therefore, many wastewater treatment plants are operated for much more redundant oxygen or chemical dosing than the necessary. In this study, the optimal control scheme for dissolved oxygen (DO) is suggested to prevent over-aeration and the reduction of the electric cost in plant operation while maintaining the dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration for the metabolism of microorganisms in oxic reactor. The oxygen uptake rate (OUR) is real-time measured for the identification of influent characterization and the identification of microorganisms' oxygen requirement in oxic reactor. Optimal DO set-point needed for the micro-organism is suggested based on real-time measurement of oxygen uptake of micro-organism and the control of air blower. Therefore, both stable effluent quality and minimization of electric cost are satisfied with a suggested optimal set-point decision system by providing the necessary oxygen supply requirement to the micro-organisms coping with the variations of influent loading.

  • Lactic acid is widely used in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and there is an increasing demand for lactic acid as the raw material of polylactic acid, which is a biodegradable polymer. The presence of high boilers and non volatility of lactic acid makes the separation of lactic acid very difficult job. Esterification of lactic acid with methanol followed by hydrolysis of the separated methyl lactate was employed for the recovery of lactic acid. Reactive dividing wall column was proposed for the simultaneous reaction and separation. The intensified process poses a challenging control problem. Dynamic characteristics of the proposed process were examined and control systems were proposed to get a stable control performance for a disturbance in feed. Control performances of the proposed control systems were compared.

  • This Paper described the simulation program development for helicopter. In the design of flight control system to accomplish some special missions like UAV, it is important to minimize the execution time obtaining a linear model from nonlinear model that is used for design of controller. The first step for this kind of purpose is to complete a nonlinear model that contains full dynamic characteristics. The second step is to get the trim values that are obtained from the nonlinear model by solving an algebraic equation. And then stability and control derivatives are derived through hovering to forward flight by numerical perturbation that will be used for linear model for a specified flight condition. The software program(HeliSim) is developed by using MATLAB GUI and will provide easy modeling procedure. The suggested method in this paper is much more simpler than any other method like a fully scale helicopter model. The advantage of our suggested method will reduce the computational time due to simple formula to extract a linear model from nonlinear model that will be beneficially used for flight control system of unmanned helicopter by some reduction of computational load.

Performance Analysis of Secondary Gas Injection for a Conical Rocket Nozzle TVC(I) (2차 가스분사에 의한 원추형 로켓노즐 추력벡터제어 성능해석 (I))

  • In the present paper an attempt has been made to simulate the secondary injection-primary flow interaction in the conical rocket nozzle and to derive the performance of secondary injection thrust vector control(SITVC) system. Complex three-dimensional flowfield induced by the secondary injection is numerically analyzed by solving unsteady three-dimensional Euler equation with Beam and Warming's implicit approximate factorization method. Emphasized in the present study is the effect of secondary injection such as secondary mass flow rates and the momentum of secondary/primary nozzle flow mass rates upon the gross system performance parameters such as thrust ratio, specific impulse ratio and deflection angle. The results obtained in terms of system performance parameters show that lower secondary mass flow rate is advantageous for to reduce secondary specific impulse loss. It is further found that the nozzle with secondary jet injected downstream and interacting with fast primary flow is preferable for efficient and stable SITVC over the wide range of use with the penalty of side specific impulse loss.

  • In general, such ground based methods are utilized to validate maneuvering and attitude control logics of a spacecraft by a simulation with a flight software at a design phase and a integrated function test with actual hardwares at a system level. Recently, varification researches using operating simulators are getting increase using compact and precise components under a ground condition. The present paper investigates and summarized the development trend of cold gas propulsion systems for the spacecraft simulators and their major performance characteristics to derive fundamental data which are necessary for a conceptual design of the simulator.
