Study of Selective Cell Drop Scheme using Fuzzy Logic on TCP/IP (TCP/IP에서 퍼지 논리를 사용한 선택적 셀 제거 방식에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents some studies on the Internet TCP/IP(Transmission Control Protocol-Internet Protocol) traffic over ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) UBR(Unspecified Bit Rate) and ABR(Available Bit Rate) classes of service. Fuzzy logic prediction has been used to improve the efficiency and fairness of traffic throughput. For TCP/IP over UBR, a novel fuzzy logic based cell dropping scheme is presented. This is referred to as fuzzy logic selective cell drop (FSCD). A key feature of the scheme is its ability to accept or drop a new incoming packet dynamically based on the predicted future buffer condition in the switch. This is achieved by using fuzzy logic prediction for the production of a drop factor. Packet dropping decision is then based on this drop factor and a predefined threshold value. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme significantly improves TCP/IP efficiency and fairness. To study TCP/IP over ABR, we applied the fuzzy logic ABR service buffer management scheme from our previous work to both approximate and exact fair rate computation ER(Explicit cell Rate) switch algorithms. We then compared the performance of the fuzzy logic control with conventional schemes. Simulation results show that on zero TCP packet loss, the fuzzy logic control scheme achieves maximum efficiency and perfect fairness with a smaller buffer size. When mixed with VBR traffic, the fuzzy logic control scheme achieves higher efficiency with lower cell loss.

  • Nowadays the traffic conditions have been getting worse due to continuous increase in the number of vehicles. So it has become more important to manage traffic signal lights efficiently. Recently fuzzy logic is introduced to control the cycle time of traffic lights adaptively. Conventional fuzzy logic controller adjusts the extension time of current green phase by using the fuzzy input variables such as the number of entering vehicles at the green light and the number of waiting vehicle during the red light. However this scheme is inadequate for an intersection with variable traffic densities. In this paper, a new FLC with asymmetric membership functions that reflects more exactly traffic flows than other FLCs with symmetric ones regardless of few control rules is propsed. The effectiveness of the proposed method was shown through simulation of a single intersection. The experimental results yielded the superior performance of the proposed FLC in terms of the average delay time, the number of passed vehicles, and the degree of saturation.

  • 대규모 시스템 명세의 올바름을 검증하기 위한 유한상태 LTS(Labeled Transition System)에 기반을 둔 CTL(Computation Tree Logic) 논리 적용의 문제점은 시스템 내부의 병렬 프로세스간 상호 작용으로 인한 상태폭발이다. 그러나 medal mu-calculus 논리를 시스템 안전성 및 필연성 특성 명세에 사용하면, 행위에 의한 순환적 정의가 가능하므로 상태폭발 문제가 해결된다. 본 논문에서는 LTS 로 명세화 된 철도 신호제어용 프로토콜 모델의 안전성 및 필연성 특성을 모형 검사 기법에 의해 검증하기 위해 시제 논리로 사용된 modal mu-calculus를 사용하여 해당 검정 알고리즘을 구현 및 적용하였다.

SMART 계측제어계통을 위한 실시간 신호검증알고리듬 개발

  • SMART 계측제어계통 측정신호의 신뢰성을 높이기 위한 실시간 신호검증알고리듬을 개발하였다. 개발된 알고리듬은 선행고장검출행렬, 아날로그 신호용 다중성 기법, 접촉신호용 논리표 알고리듬, 주파수 신호용 다중성 기법 그리고 아날로그 센서 경증을 위한 통계적 모듈의 5개 모듈로 구성되어 있다. 선행고장검출행렬은 측정 신호 중에서 고장의 가능성이 있는 신호를 추출하여 선정된 신호만을 적절한 알고리듬으로 검증하도록 함으로써 전체적인 수행시간을 감소시킨다. 아날로그 신호검증 모듈은 아날로그 측정신호에 대한 물리적/해석적 다중성에 입각하여 고장신호의 크기, 위치를 검출하며, 접촉신호 검증 모듈은 접촉신호들간의 논리값을 비교하여 발생 불가능한 논리값을 가지는 신호를 고장신호로 검출한다. 주파수신호는 아날로그 신호와 유사한 기법을 구현하였으며, 통계적 모듈은 아날로그 센서 자체의 물리적 건전성을 검사하는 모듈이다. 현재 SMART의 설계가 확정되어 있지 않으므로 개발된 신호검증알고리듬을 시험하기 위해서 여러 주요 공정변수가 표현되는 상용 원자로의 냉각재계통을 대상으로 검증 알고리듬을 구현하였으며, 운전모사기로 모사된 신호를 이용하여 개발된 신호검증알고리듬을 시험하였다. 시험결과 각 모듈별로 적절히 고장을 검출함을 보였다.

  • In this paper, we introduce an implementation method of switch-based LED (Light Emitting Diode) Art logic circuits to help understanding the operation principle of digital logic circuits. Digital logic circuit practice using bread board is widely practiced in colleges or high schools in South Korea. However, actual digital logic circuit practice lacks examples of basic implementation, and as results of this problem, study with more complicated examples disturbs understanding the basic operation principle of digital logic circuits. Therefore, we proposed and tested an implementation method of switch-based LED Art logic circuits to help understanding the necessity of digital logic circuits which control signals of multiple output devices simultaneously.

  • In this paper, we proposed the cell multiplexer using Hopfield neural network and the bandwidth predictor using the backpropagation neural network in order to make an accurate call setup decision. The cell multiplexer controls heterogeneous traffic and the bandwidth predictor estimates minimum bandwidth which satisfies traffic's QoS and maximizes throughput in network. Also, a novel connection admission controller decides on connection setup using the predicted bandwidth from bandwidth predictor and available bandwidth in networks. And then, we proposed a fuzzy traffic policer, when traffic sources violate the contract, takes an appropriate action and aim proved traffic shaper, which controls burstness which is one of key characteristics in multimedia traffic. We simulated the proposed controller. Simulation results show that the proposed controller outperforms existing controller.

  • This paper presents an intelligent signal for controling the traffic lights on traffic junction network with dynamic traffic flow, When a junction is connected to adjacent junctions on four sides. Prior researches have been done on the single traffic junction. However, it is dificult to apply single junction controller to real traffic situation. In this paper, we develop a fuzzy taffic network controller which adjusts the extension time of current green phase by using teh fuzzy input variables such as the number of entering cars at the green light, the number of waiting cars during the red light, and the traffic volume. The proposed method was compared to the existing junction signal control methods on controllers in terms of average delay time of cars and the cost function defined in this paper.

  • In fuzzy logic control, static fuzzy rules cannot cope with significant changes of parameters of plants or environment. To solve this prohlem, self-organizing fuzzy control. neural-network-hased fuzzy logic control and so on have heen introduced so far. However, dynamically changed fuzzy rules of these schemes may make a fuzzy logic controller Fall into dangerous situations because the changed fuzzy rules may he incomplete or inconsistent. This paper proposes a new adaptive filzzy logic control scheme using a predictivc neural network. Although some parameters of a controlled plant or environment are changed, proposed fuzzy logic controller changes its decision outputs adaptively and robustly using unchanged initial fuzzy rules and the predictive errors generated hy the predictive neural network by on-line learning. Experimental results with a D<' servo-motor position control problem show that propnsed cnntrol scheme is very useful in the viewpoint of adaptability.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of a hard- wired AGV controller using CPLD(Complex Programmable Logic Device). The proposed controller manages a guidance equipment, motor and I/O sequence controller for a self-control traveling. Compared with a conventional $\mu$-processor, the CPLD controller using a hard-wired control method can reduce a difficult programming process. Also, the total costs of production are reduced, such as development time, product's size and difficulty because memory, combinational logic and sequential logics are implemented by CPLD. The Controller designed using behavioral description method with VHDL and was synthesized by MAX+Plus II of the ALTERA co. We implemented controller using EPF10K10LC84-4 device.

  • It is essential for a fuzzy logic controller to have an appropriate set of rules to perform at the desired level. The linguistic structure of the fuzzy logic controller allows a tentative linguistic policy to be used as an initial rule base. At the design stage, if one can reasonably assemble a good collection of rules, it may then be possible to be tuned to improve the controller performance. In this paper, we proposed the shifting method of rule base table to improve the performance of fuzzy controller. The proposed method is based on the principle of that the effect of the output to regulate the system would be greater when the error increases and the effect of output would be less when the error decreases. According to simulation results, it is an effective method to improve the fuzzy control rule base and the performance of fuzzy logic controllers.
