This study aimed at investigating the skeletal, dentoalveolar, and soft tissue changes of Class III malocclusion cases treated by second molar extraction. The lateral cephalograms of 15 subjects with moderate Class III malocclusion by average ANB $-1.4^{\circ}\;and\;IMPA\;85^{\circ}$ were traced and the computerized superimposition of average craniofacial change was made. The data was gathered and statistically analyzed. The results were as follows: 1 Lower anterior facial height/anterior facial height increased by 0.6%(P<0.01), mandibular plane increased by $1.5^{\circ}$(P<0.05). 2. There was a slightly downward & backward rotation of the mandible. 3. Lower first molar tipped distally by 4.nm(P<0.001), lower anterior teeth lingually tipped by $3.2^{\circ}$(P<0.05). 4. Retracted lower lip improved facial profile. This study may suggest that second molar extraction could be effective for a moderate Class III malocclusion to make distalization of the lower first molar easier and avoid severe lingual tipping of the lower incisor, if the lower third molar has a normal shape, good direction of eruption and adequate time for lower second molar extraction
A total of 31 human diphyllobothriasis cases have been reported in Korea. Authors experienced two more human cases of Diphyllobothrium latum infection, especially due to eating raw freshwater trout. Two cases were husband and wife in a famil residing in Chunchon city, Kangwon-do, who raw fish in October 1994. A 43-year old male(husband) was 69kg in body weight and healthy. A worm (6.65m in length; 8-l3mm in width) was expelled from him after, anthelmintic treatment. The second case(wife) was a 39-year old female who weighted 56kg. She complained about gastrointestinal trouble and abdominal discomfort. A worm (5.50m in length; 9-l3mm in width) was Obtained her after anthelmintic treatment. No scolex was collected from the two worms. Two patients were administrated with praziquantel(15mg/kg of body weight) and 15gm of magnesium sulfate as a purgative. Two worms identified as D. latum, .based on the following biological characters: extermal morphologies, coiling of uterus, the number of uterine loops, position of genital opening, morphologies of cirrus and cirrus sac and seminal vesicle on the histological sections, positions of vagina and uterine pore, distribution patterns of vitellaria, and microscopical and SEM morphologies of the egg.

The submarine cable for Yongsu wave power plant was cut in 2014 winter. This study investigated the probability of high-wave occurrence exceeding the 50-year return period and the underestimation of armor unit weight used to protect the cable. The observation data from KMA buoy and the hindcast wave data were reviewed to determine the return period of wave height during the winter. In order to investigate the armor unit weight of cable-protection, we calculated the required weight of armor unit using not only Design Standard for Harbor and Fishery Port, but also the previous researches for the wave with large incident angle. As a result, it appeared that the high wave exceeding the 50-year return period did not occur during the winter of 2014 and the armor unit weight of the cable protection was not sufficient to sustain the obliquely incident wave, which induced the cable protection failure.
The Purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the lower third molar on treatment time and distal en masse movement of the lower dentition in Giass III malocclusions. Thirty subjects (9 males and 27 females) were selected, all of whom were diagnosed as Glass III malocclusion and treated by fixed appliances without premolar and/or molar extraction. They were divided into three groups Group 1 consisted of 12 subjects. whose lower third molars were not extracted during the whole orthodontic treatment. Group 2 consisted of 8 subjects. whose lower third molars were extracted after WEAW application and before removal of the orthodontic appliances. Group 3 consisted of 10 subjects whose lower third molars were extracted before MEAW application. For each subject. overall treatment time and duration of MEAW application were determined. In addition. pre-treatment and post-treatment lateral cephalometric radiographs were analyzed. All data were Processed statistically with ANOVA, and the conclusions were as follows: There was no significant difference among the groups in overall treatment time However, duration of MEAW application was longer in Group 2 than in Group 1 or Group 3. The overjet that was established after orthodontic treatment was largest in Group 3, in which the lower third molars were extracted befor MEAW application. After orthodontic treatment, IMPA decreased in Group 3. but increased in Group 1 and Group 2. There was no significant difference among the three groups in the translation of lower second molars However the tipping movement of lower second molars was significantly different, highest in Group 2 and lowest in Group 1 Therefore. it is thought to be better for the orthodontic treatment of Class III malocclusions to extract the lower third molars before MEAW application. In Group 2, the mandibular plane angle was decreased as a result of forward rotation of the mandible This skeletal change was thought to bring about the difficulty of treatment.
The purpose of this study was to compare on masse retraction of six anterior teeth with separate canine retraction in the amount of the anchorage loss and the retraction of the anterior teeth. The subjects consisted of 30 adult female patients with Angle Class 1 malocclusions who were treated by .022' straight wire appliance with 4 first permolar extraction. They were composed of two groups. Group 1 consisted of 15 subjects, whose six anterior teeth were retracted by on masse retraction. Group 2 consisted of 15 subjects, whose canines were retracted separately. Pre-treatment and post-treatment lateral cephalometric radiographs were analyzed. All data were processed statistically with independent samples t-test, and the conclusions were as follows. 1. There was no significant difference in the amount of the anchorage loss between two groups(p>0.05). 2. There was no significant difference in the amount of the retraction of the anterior teeth between two groups(p>0.05). 3. There was a significant difference in the amount of the inclinational change of the upper incisors between two groups. It was greater in Group 2. 4. There was a significant difference in the vertical positional change of the upper incisal edges between two groups. The upper incisal edges in Group 2 were more extruded than Group 1 by about 1mm. 5. There was no significant difference in the vertical positional change of the root apex of the upper incisors between two groups(p>0.05). And there was no significant difference in the vertical positional change of the upper molar(p>0.05).
The purpose of this study is to know about the positional change of second molar when orthodontic treatment is performed. To know about it, we andlysed cephalogram pre. and post treatment for 54 adult patients who werefinished orthodontic treatment by banding to the first molar and classify them into 4 groups Class I extraction group 15, Class I nonextraction group 12, Class II group 13, class Class III group 14. The following conclusions were obtained : 1. In the extraction group of Class I , mandibular second molar showed less extrusion and mon distal inclination than first moarl. But maxillary second molar showed more or less extrusive and mesial inclination to much the same degree of first molar. 2. Inthe non-extractio group of Class I, mandibular second molar in intrusive to first molar, it showed smilar distal inclination to first molar. But maxillary second molar is extrusive similarly to first molar. 3. In the group of Class II , mandibular second molar is less extrusive than first molar and maxillary second molar is more extrusive than first molar. 4. In the group of Class III, mandibular second molar showed similar extrusion to first molar and more distal inclination than first molar. But maxillary second molar showed less extrusion than first molar. 5. A comparision of the positional change of second molar among groups : The change of distance from FH plane to funcation point of maxillary second molar is the difference between Class I extraction group and Class II group, Class I extraction group and Class III group. The change of maxillary second molar to palatal plane and occlusal plane is the difference between Class I extraction group and Class III group. And the change of distance from mandibular plan to furcation point of mandibular second molar is difference between Class I extraction group and non-extraction group, Class I non-extraction group and Class II group, Class I non-extraction group and Class III group. But the change of angle of mandibular second molar to mandibular plane and occlusal plane is make no difference in among groups.
There are relatively many reports have been issued on he active movement of cuticle of larva. which tend to protect their body, however, only a few reports have been disclosed on the cuticle of pupal body except the small portion of rectangle which shown tortoise-shell shape. In this connection, many portion of the external structure of pupal cuticle has been studied and the following. results were found: 1) No. spot of rectangle which is sculptured in the surface of cuticle that born by branching. out of the development of cell in imaginal bud of antenna and head were found. However, in the compound eye of net shaped sculpture was found in the (equation omitted) shaped parts which holding. the diameter of about 8u and the surrounding area has the small bump and the one is dark brown coloured comparing with shape. 2) The sculpture shape of thorax is a little different than in the head. However, (equation omitted) portion is varies from the segment to segment. In general, it is not very clear than the compound eye in the head, the dark brown bump shape is slowly fade a from the prothorax, mesothorax to metathorax. 3) The surface of intersegment membrane is colourless or slightly yellow, and the entire surface has stripped marking with thine lines. 4) In the abdominal segment, there are many and small sculptures in net shape around the (equation omitted) shape portions. 5) The size of sculpture in (equation omitted) portion of abdomen is smaller than one in thorax, and in the same segment, the dorsal is smaller than abdomen and the rear portion of the segment is larger than the front of segment. 6) After the 7th abdominal segment, no intersegmental membrane is found and the cuticle of the external structure is the same as external structure of the segment. 7) The seta is not found in head, compound eye, antenna and wing which portions were subdivided by development of imagined bud of the cell, no seta is found in cuticle of the segment in the general cell of the larva stage and also in the dorsal and intersegmental membrane.
enistein (G), and daidzein (D), the major isoflavones, were analyzed in 14 varieties of Korean soybean and various processed soybean products by using high performance liquid chromatography. Isoflavone contents (G+D) were greatly variable among varieties ranged from 308.2 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g to 1,134.2 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g and highest in Danyopkong and Jinpumkong. Among hypocotyl, cotyledon and hull of soybean the concentration of the isoflavone (G+D) in the hypocotyl was highest ranged from 2,971.7 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g to 5,704.9 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g. The distributions of genistein and daidzein were also different in hypocotyl, cotyledon and hull. Higher ratio of daidzein to genistein (D/G) was found in the hypocotyl (4-12) compared to cotyledon and hull (0.1-4). Isoflavone (G+D) contents of soymilks (Sinpaldal#2, Eunhakong) prepared at 16 hour hydration were decreased to 1.1-1.2 times compared with that at 8 hour hydration. Commercial soymilks contained much lower isoflavone (G+D) than laboratory soymilks. Soybean curd (Eunhakong) prepared with MgCl$_2$ showed higher isoflavone (G+D) contents than that with CaSO$_4$. But these values of two different soybean curds made at laboratory were similar to those of 3 commercial curds. The concentration of the isoflavones in soybean sprout separated with 3 parts revealed highest in the head and lowest in the stem. Compared with non-fermented soybean foods the fermented soybean produfts, Kochujang and soybean paste, Duen Jang, showed very low contents of isoflavone (G+D),2.8-3.0 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g, 35.9-63.6 $\mu\textrm{g}$/grespectively.

The objective of this study was to provide guidelines for the diagnosis and successful treatment of orthodontic treatment with upper premolar extraction only Methods: The sample group consisted of 40 patients (20 with upper premolar extraction only, 20 with both upper and lower premolar extractions) who showed an overjet of more than 7 mm and were finished successfully. Lateral cephalographs were taken before and after orthodontic treatment. Landmarks showing the position of the upper and lower incisors and the position of the upper and lower lip were determined and angular measurement of these values were obtained for statistical analysis (Mann-Whitney test). Results: At pre-treatment, the position of the lower incisor was less labially inclined and the convexity of the lower lip was smaller in the upper premolar extraction only group than in the upper/lower premolar extraction group. At post-treatment, there was no difference in all measurements except for the position of the lower incisor. A comparison of changes between pre- and post-treatment showed that the retraction of upper & lower incisors and the decrease in convexity of the lower lip were greater in the upper/lower premolar extraction group. Conclusions: Treatment by upper premolar extraction can be of benefit for patients whose lower incisor proclination and lower lip protrusion are not excessive.
Five specimens of Lethotremus awae (Cyclopteridae) were collected from the northern coastal waters of Jeju Island, Korea, during a survey on larval and juvenile fishes flocking to aquatic lamp in 2004 ~ 2007. They were characterized by having a spherical body with three barbel-like tubes on head and the first dorsal fin overgrown by skin with undiscernible rays as well as VIII-9 dorsal fin rays, 8 ~ 9 anal fin rays and 22 ~ 23 pectoral fin rays. A new Korean name, "Eom-ji-do-chi", was proposed for the species.
