필수 영양성분인 비타민. 비타민은 소량으로 신체기능을 조절한다는 점에서 호르몬과 비슷하지만 신체의 내분비기관에서 합성되는 호르몬과 달리 외부로부터 섭취되어야 한다. 비타민은 체내에서 전혀 합성되지 않거나, 합성되더라도 충분하지 못하기 때문이다. 외부에서 얻어야하는 꼭 필요한 영양성분이기에 중요한 비타민이지만 잘못된 상식들이 난무하고 있어 일반인들은 물론 전문가들조차 옥석을 구분하기 어려울 정도. 그리하여 주요 비타민에 대해 제대로 알아보는 시간을 갖고자 지난 호에 이은 두 번째 시간으로 비타민A와 비타민B군에 대해 알아본다.

바쁜 현대인들은 대부분의 시간을 앉아서 보내기 때문에 운동량이 부족하고 불규칙한 식생활로 인하여 십중팔구는 고질병으로 달고 사는 것이 바로‘변비’이다. 변비는 배변 횟수가 줄어 변이 장에 오래 남아 건조되어 배변하기 어려워진 상태를 말한다. 일단 변비가 생기면 몸에 해로운 물질을 체외로 내보내는 신진대사가 제대로 이루어지지 않기 때문에 건강을 지키기 위해서는 변비에 대해 제대로 알고 확실하게 극복하는 것이 중요하다.

저자는 임상에서 널리 사용되는 근관충전재료인 산화아연유지놀, N2, MN2 및 Triozinc Paste의 살균효과를 비교하기 위하여 한천배양기 및 혈액가한천배양기상에서 백색포도상구균 및 α-용혈성연질상구균의 두균주를 사용, 실험하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 백색포도상구균을 심은 한천배양기상에서 비건조도판을 사용한 실험군에서의 균성장억제대는 MN2, 6. 83; Triozinc paste, 5. 77; N 2, 5. 61; 산화아연유지놀, 3.49mm였다. 2) 백색포도상구균을 심은 한천배양기상에서 건조도판을 사용한 실험군에서의 균성장억제대는 MN2, 4.40; Triozinc paste, 1.46; 산화아연유지놀, 0.99; ㅜ2, 0.84mm였다. 3) 백색포도상구균을 심은 혈액가한천배양기상에서 건조도판을 사용한 실험군에서의 균성장억제대는 MN 2, 1.15; Triozinc paste, 0.55; 산화아연유지놀, 0.54; N2, 0.43mm였다. 4) α-용혈성연질상구균을 심은 용혈가한천배양기상에서 건조도판을 사용한 실험군에서의 균성장억제대는 MN 2, 2.14; Triozinc paste, 1.00; 산화아연유지놀, 0.75; N 2, 0.43mm였다.

This study conducted research over status of employment and living by collecting questions & answers from retired soldiers after service in ROK Army more than 5 years in last 5 years. As the methodology of this research, the status of employment has been provided from the Citizen Insurance Public Corporation, and conducted interviews for all individuals in addition to the receiving of questions & answers. Also, the statistic data prepared and submitted for Congressional Audit & Inspection from MND was also utilized for the purpose of research. In conclusion, the situation faced with retired soldiers after their retirement is showing the future of reflection of oneself to the personnel in active service who must do their best only for their duty to keep national security. If those personnel in active service are worrying about their future returning to civilian society after retirement, it will not only become an impediment to perform their duty but also bring invisible weakening of military power to defend our nation in result. This is the rationale for the necessity of providing support for social adaptation, reemployment and inauguration of retired soldiers.

The strategic unit communication infrastructure for military command, communications requires a dualized network structure of various communication methods, considering the direction of development, strategic unit and line characteristic. It has been pointed out that MicroWave, which is typical of wireless systems, is inefficient because it operates only with existing technologies. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the structure, efficiency of the MW transmission system and its effects. It is difficult to transfer efficiently considering wireless environment due to a fixed type of access structure in the existing MW transmission system. Adaptive modulation allows improvement, but with traditional access structures and fixed bandwidth, there is a limit. Following the transmission performance improvement technique considering availability and link distance in the previous study, this paper presented improved packetized MW transmission system structure and variable bandwidth transmission in consideration of adaptive modulation based variable transmission waveform, bandwidth and distance, and performed the analysis in view of the strategic unit and command control circuit.

Background: Cytokine-mediated ex vivo expansion has been proposed as a means of increasing the number of cord blood (CB) hematopoietic stem cells for transplantation. As well as stem cell number, stromal cells are necessary for functional maturation of hematopoiesis. The purpose of this study was to analyze the development of stromal cells during ex vivo expansion of CB $CD34^+$ cells. Methods : $CD34^+$ cells were purified from CB by magnetic bead selection. The levels of of interleukin-3, interleukin-$1{\beta}$, interleukin-6, granulocyte macrophagecolony stimulating factor and tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$ were measured in culture supernatants on 0, 1, 2, and 3 weeks, using ELISA techniques. CB $CD34^+$ cells were expanded in Iscoves modified Dulbeccos medium in the presence of several cytokines. The expression of E-selectin, vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, platelet/endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, von Willebrand factor, vimentin, and CD14 in newly developed stromal cells was examined by immunocytochemical method. Relevant extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins and proper cytokines were also assayed for the most suitable condition for expansion of stromal cells. Results: Several cytokines were found to have been produced by CB $CD34^+$ cells as well as bone marrow-derived $CD34^+$ cells. During ex vivo expansion of CB $CD34^+$ cells, stromal cells appeared in the culture by day 4 and expanded over the following 7-10 days before being confluent by day 2 1. These cells expressed surface markers characteristic of cells of endothelial lineage. Furthermore, these stroaml cells also expanded effectively when treated with thrombopoietin+flt-3 ligand+stem cell factor+leukemia inhibitory factor or 0.1% poly-L-lysine-coated wells. Conclusion: Stromal cells were developed during ex vivo expansion of CB $CD34^+$ cells and that this development could be enhanced further by treating the stromal cells with cytokines or ECM.
